Lakshman, Vibhishana and the Vanara Army headed by Sugreev, Hanuman, Angad, Jambavan and the others found their way into the caves. Mandodari tries to convince Sulochana to ask Ravan to call back Indrajeet from war. Sulochana refuses saying that this action will insult both her husband and Ravan. Mandodari is desparate to call her son back from war. The Vanara Army closes in on the cave and Indrajeet continues his worship. A demon blows his conch to warn the demon prince of the enemy's arrival. Indrajeet turs towards the sound but still continues his worship. Hanuman throws a boulder at the demon and silences him but a fight between the demon and Vanara Army ensues. Indrajeet keeps chanting the mantras but keeps looking towards the entrance of the caves.
Lakshman wants to go in and help the Vanaras but Vibhishan is confident that the Vanaras can handle it. True to his words, the Vanaras finish off every demon and reach the yaaga sala where Indrajeet sits chanting the evil mantras. The destroy the worship, upturn all the plates with flowers and offerings and pour the water from the kalasas into the sacrificial fire. Totaly frustrated, Indrajeet (flips his hair and) vanishes before the Vanaras could strike him.
Kubera comes to visit Ravan and advices him to stop the war and give back Sita. Ravan does not listen but thinks that Kuber wants to decieve him and get back Lanka. He even lifts up his sword to kill Kuber but Mandodari stops him and asks for forgiveness. Ravan is so angry he tells Mandodari to chase Kuber away. Kuber vanishes.
Vibhishan brings Lakshman to a huge tree and says that Indrajeet offers his prayers and sacrifices there. He also says that we shold never let him near the tree. Lakshman agrees and challenges Indrajeet for war. Indrajeet appears and agrees to fight promising death to both of them. He then adresses Vibhishana and asks him how could he betray his family, country and race. He accuses Vibhishan of beying the ultimate betrayer of the entire demon race. Vibhishan retorts saying that it was he, Indrajeet and his father Ravan who were responsible for the downfall of the demon race and not himself as Indrajeet accused. Indrajeet was beside himself with anger and shoots an arrow to finish of the betrayer but the arrow is stopped mid air by Lakshman's own arrows. A great battle ensues.
