I haven't heard of this poem or story before. I'll ask my friends and let you know.

I have read that Lord Rama accepted food from Guha at the start of his exile and that Sabhari gave him fruits after tasting to check if they were sweet which Lord Rama accepted.

I haven't heard of this fisherman story before. I'll let you know if I find anything.
