it is really sad to hear. no country is safe. i am from Sri Lanka and we have war daily. but India not like that and the innocent people what they did wrong. please punish whoever did wrong. think about the people living a great moment and having little relaxing and the next moment they are dead or running to save their lives. what's wrong with these people.

i think we should enjoy our life for the moment and how do we make plans for the future. people are sick and they don't know what they are doing to the others. i was really shocked when i watched the news.

Jagdu, I wouldn't want to make premature accusations about any country's involvement. I think even FM Pranab Mukherjee wasn't suggesting any involvement on the part of a foreign government, only of foreign nationals operating from foreign soil. It is quite clear that this is a transational act, involving non-state actors from several countries and possibly Indians too.
In any event, let us use this thread simply to express our abhorrence of these acts and our sympathies for the victims' families. We can engage in political discussions elsewhere.
On a separate matter, I salute the bravery of many Indians, especially the staff of the hotels and, of course, Ditty's uncle. I have been reading especially about the heart-warming civic-mindedness of the staff of the Taj. They were calm and cool as they led their guests to safety. Some even had the presence of mind to telephone and alert hotel guests. One woman staff member reportedly led guests to safety even as she was nursing a hand wounded by gunfire. Another staff member sheltered his guests and took a bullet himself. These were acts that went way, way beyond the call of duty. It is gratifying to know that the human spirit is very much alive.

My Uncle was a major in the army befoe he ventured into the corporate world....it will take definitely a lot of things other than my dad's words to stop him from doing rescue works.

Ambi, when I posted my message, the terrorists had released demands that made it sound as if they were Indian nationals. Only now we have info that they are foreign nationals.

I cannot help but feel sorry for the misguided people who think that by killing others they are doing a great service to their mission. They have forgotten that they will gain nothing and will themselves face a bloody end. Violence begets violence, let us pray for someone to show these misguided people the light and to tell them that they have only earned disgust for themselves and their so-called missions by performing these acts of terror.

Agreed Eljay. Wht the caught terrorist Mohammed has told the poilce is driving me mad...there's no repentance, it seems he's feeling abd he was not able to accomplish the target of 5000 Indian; he wanted to join the Pak Army to perish Indians, but some extremists managed to get him brainwashed and asked him not to waste his talents in the army.......why on earth weren't these guys blessed with some sense? And to think most of them are aged b/w 18 and 28....

I agree Eljay and Ditty. It is really sad. They can do so many things to accomplish in life. Instead these misguided people think killing innocent people is an accomplishment. how would they feel if this is their own family member?

Many died for no apparent reason. Now what happens, one Indian British self made tycoon have asked the British Govt to curb migration of foreigners to Britain.

Ditty, I thought the captured terrorist's name starts with an 'A', and it is so incredible the reasons he gave to the lawmakers on the reason of Mumbai targetted. 😡
