Next day morning Raji came out of her room wiping her sloppy sleepy eyes with the back of her hand..by heading her way to the kitchen she shouted... "Amma coffee.."
Suddenly her legs frozen and she stood still with a mouth agape...seeing karthik sitting on the couch ,with a mischievous smirk on his face..and his brows raised to the heights with an exaggerated astonishment on his face..
"Mortification" was the only word she could come up with for her current state..
She was in a complete mess..ruffled hair,droopy eyes,crushed nighty ,above all like icing on the cake she even had a drool mark at the corner of her lips ..
Covering her mouth in mortification she scampered into the kitchen like a scared rabbit..
Karthik smiled to himself and continued reading the daily newspaper..
Raji stopped by kitchen and her Amma extended a coffee cup to her..Raji let a sigh of relief to smell the nice flavor of her mother's special coffee..it has been always served as her mood lifter and especially at times like this she desperately needs one..
"Thanks ma..yennoda thevai arinji coffee kudukura paaru ..ammaa naa ammaa dhaan.."she bent forward and inhaled the fragrance of the coffee and let that aroma filled her lungs...
"mmm..."
Amma whacked her head in annoyance..
"hey,unakku yaarudi coffee kuduthaa..idhu karthik thambi ku kondu poi kudu..."she chided her for her childish behaviour...
"ammaa this is too too much..unnoda sondha ponnu maa naan ...yenakku coffee kudukka maatiyaa?"she pouted ..
"coffee venum naa modhalla brush pannittu vaa...aaru kazhudha vayasaagudhu innum ippadi poruppu illaama irukka..unnai kattika poravana nenaichaa yenakku ratha kaneer varudhu..paavam yaaru petha pullaiyo.."amma started her usual pulambal session...
" podhum maa neenga pulambinadhu.. kudunga.."she said in a peevish voice and literally snatched the cup from her mom and stomped off grumbling...
She placed the cup on the small tea poi with a "clang" sound..making him to look at her in surprise..
"coffee.."she said as if announcing it to the wall ...looking at the exact opposite direction to him..
With a smirk on his face he sipped the coffee a little and frowned ...Raji who stole the glance at him was puzzled seeing his frown...
"Raji ,I might be having so many health issues but i am sure I don't have diabetics ..so pls put some sugar in the coffee.."
"coffee amma pottadhu..avanga coffee yeppavume perfect aa irukkum..."she said sternly carefully not falling in his trap..
"appo naan poi solrennu solriyaa?"
"who knows..."she shurgged her shoulder ...
"nijamaave idhula sugar illai Raji.." he said in a fed up voice..
"Ippadi sonnaa ..udane naan adhai kudichi paarthu..sugar sariyaa irukkunnu solluven ..apppuram unnoda lips pattadhaala sweet aa irukku nu vazhiya vendiyadhu..idhellam yevlo movies la paarthirukkom ..yengakittaiyevaaa...?"she thought to herself with a smirk..
"u r doing this to make me to taste this coffee right?no way its gonna happen.."she said with a challenging look..
He held her look straight without wavering for a bit..
"Did I ask u to taste it..?just put one tea spoon sugar and bring it back ..thats it.."he said flatly and had started reading the newspaper nonchalantly ...
Its time for raji to get confused..she took the coffee cup in her hand and walked aside passing a suspicious glance at him..
"Is he lying or not..?"as she can't contain the curiosity any longer so she took a small sip of it..
It was perfect..sugar,taste,everything was fine..
She marched towards him fiercely ..
"yenna vilaiyaadureengalaa?idhula sugar correct aa dhaan irukku.."
"so u have tasted it...now it will be the perfect blend...thank you.."he grabbed the cup from her and tasted it with an animated expressions of appreciation..
"How annoying..i have fallen of his tricks.."she kicked the floor in anger and stomped off fuming...

Raji got ready for her morning walk cursing him through out ...while she tieing her shoe lace..
Appa came to her.. "Raji...karthik thambi yayum walking ku kootitu po maa."
"Appa...avaru yenna china paapaavaa...kooda koottitu poga..yellam avare poikku vaaru.."she said carelessly and rushed out of her house before appa started his taunting ..
But stopped at the gate seeing karthik in his tracks and snickers all set for the morning walk..with a huge grin on her face..
she shook her head in disbelief..and treaded as fast as she can ignoring him completely..but he matched her pace within a few long strides..
"why on earth he has such long legs.."she was having issues even his physique now..
The walk was very silent event ..as no one intended to initiate the talk.. he walked beside her without a word as if her shadow ... Few of a familiar faces greeted her with a smile and also passed a curious look at the handsome guy accompanied her those eager looks made her to fluster a little..
At first Raji felt very conscious of his presence later she just ignored that weird feeling and concentrated on her walk..
After a while when she was returning to home suddenly she noticed that karthik was missing..she slowed down her pace a bit and waited for him to join ..but he was not coming..she was hesitant to turn back ..because what if it would be one of his pranks to make her to search for him..
"No.. I am not going to fall for his tricks this time.."she made up her mind..and continued her walking though slowly..
after a while she couldn't take it anymore and reluctantly turned around to look for him..he was not following her ..actually he was no where to be seen..she frantically searched for him in all directions..but there was no traces of him...
"where is he?"she was puzzled.."was he lost his track..?chi chi..is he a kid to get lost in new place..no way.."
Though at the corner of her heart she was worried her stubborn mind didn't ready to accept it..
"yenga ponaa yenakkenaa..ippadiye kan kaanaama poitta podhum.."she shrugged off and resumed her walk..yet keenly hearing for any foot steps behind her..
After few minutes..he joined with her running from nowhere..
She was hell curious to ask him where he had gone..but with utmost difficulty she zipped her hyper active mouth..
She maintained her calmness as if nothing happens or she doesn't care..
As they reached home he stopped her by calling her name softly..
"Raji.."
she looked at him with question .
he brought out his hand hidden behind his back containing a small rose plant with a single pink bud ..He extended it to her..
"This is for u.."
"Yedhukku?"she asked in a gruff voice...
" I am just keeping my promise..salem ku varumbodhu unakku vaangi tharuvennu sonnenae ...marandhutiyaa?this is Trisha version three.."
"promise my foot..promise ah keep up panra aala paru..yenakku niyaabaga maradhiyaa?..ivarukku appadiye yellam niyaabagam irukku ...sariyaana Gajini Mohammad..." she snorted in mind..
"Yenakku venaam I can buy it for myself.." She rejected out rightly with a firm voice..but pouted in mind .."how mean ivlo azhagaana rose chedi ya vendaamnu solla vendi irukku all because of this Hitler.."
"Its ok Raji..idhula yendha ulterior motive vum illai..so u can accept it without any hesitation.."
She looked at the budding rose longingly..how could she deny rose..?she reluctantly accept it from him ...
"indha ulgathulaiye yenakku romba pidichadhu rose onnu dhaan..adhanaala idhai accept pannikaren.idhanaala namakkulla yellam sariaagittadhaa pagal kanavu kaana vendaam"she warned him clearly ..
He bowed his head and said "yes mam.."politely yet smiling at her through eyes..
"But Raji..indha ulagathulaiye unakku pidichadhu rose onnu dhannu sonnadhu poi ..i know..unakku pidicha innoru vishayamum irukku.."he said with a naughty glint..
she creased her brows in skeptically but remained silent..
"andha innonu yennanu kekka maatiyaa?"he pestered her further..
"Yenakku yedhuvum kekka vendaam..."she turned her face away..as she knew he was planning something to trap her.."andha innoru vishyam naan dhaan nu sonnaa yanna panradhu?"suddenly her heart beats rapidly..
"Nee kekaatiyum naan solluven..indha ulagathulaiye unakku romba pidicha innoru vishayam ...saapaadu...correct aa?"
She controlled the sudden urge of strangling him by closing her hands tightly in a fist..and gritted her teeth not letting him to see her anger..because showing anger would be his victory..he was doing things intentionally to make her to react to him but she was not ready to give in to his demands...
Pausing a fierce glance at him she started to walk inside ..
But he stopped her by grabbing her hand in time..and jerked her to his side as if she banged his chest with a force..she looked at his smiling face furiously ...
She wiggled her hand to free herself from his grip...on the contrary to his soft look his hold was strong like steel..infuriated by her failed attempt she looked at him with even more aversion..
he leaned closer and whispered in her ears..
"u may like many things in this world..but the only thing u love more than urself is.."Me.." don't dare to deny it.."
Sending shiver to her whole body..she jolted back and pushed him afar ..releasing herself she dashed into the house in lightening speed...and collided with a person standing next to the door step..making him to fall on the floor with a thud..
"iyoo..oru bulldozer vandhu mela modhiduche...yennaena parts damage aacho theriyalaiye...raji akka unakku raathirila dhaan yerumamaadu theriyaadhunnu nenaichen..pagalaiye pasu maadu kooda theriyaama poche...maama udane indha akkavukku vasan eye care ku kootitu po oru soda puttiya vaangi maatunga.adhukku munaadi yenakku casuality ah oru admission pottu treatment pannunga.."he huffed and stood up with great struggle still whining in pain..
"yeppadiyo nee maadu nu othukitta la adhuve periya vishayam..over scene podaadhadaa..inga yenna oscar aa kudukaraanga ..ippadi act panra..?"Raji asked in annoyance as she was called as bulldozer by her cousin especially in front of karthik...
karthik was watching this whole scene of drama between the cousins in awe..it was a novel experience for him as he grew up lonely all in his childhood as he never had a sibling or cousin,let alone fighting he never had one to share a friendly relationship either...actually he felt kind of jealous seeing them both fight with ease forgetting their age..
Nandhu(Lilltle cousine of raji) stopped his whining at once as he saw the stranger in the vicinity..he eyed raji as if asking who is that..
she doesn't want to introduce themselves..as she knew given to the naughty self of Nandhu once he comes to knew it was karthik sir he would cling to him and start to pester him..because she had bragged about her karthik sir to him in many occasions..
Appa came in mid and formally introduced them..
"Nandhu idhu dhaan Raji oda karthik sir..karthik thambi..idhu nandhu yennoda machaan paiyan..ivanga akka vukku dhaan naalaikku kalyaanam.."
"hello Nandhu i am Karthik..hope u r fine after that unexpected fatal collision.."he exchanged pleasantries in a cheerful voice passing a mocking look at raji..
"Hello sir..ungala pathi naan neraiya kelvi pattiruken..indha raji irukaale gap kedaichaa podhum ungala pathi damaaram adikka arambichiduvaa?karthik sir appadi ..karthik sir ippadi nu..ungalaala dhaan ava math la centum adichaalaam..yenna bandhaa theriyumaa?oorukku vandhaa yeppavum ungala pathi dhaan pesuvaa...yenakku sometimes kaadhula blood kooda vandhirukku..but ungala paarthaa dhaan theriyudhu..ava paadhi kooda sollainu..neenga super cool aa irukeenga sir.."nandhu literally admired karthik..
"indha Nandhu ivanoda dabbaa vaaya mooda ve maataana?ippa yaaru ketta idhellam alakka solli..ivanaa...grrr...indha lachanathula super cool title vera..aamaa romba cool dhaan pakkathula konja neram ninnaa apapdiye freeze aagidavendiyadhu dhaan..ice prince ah poi ..cool nu solraan loosu...ippadi yellaa secret iyum reveal panraane..inimel yeppadi naan indha Hitler moonjila muzhikaradhu"Raji chided Nandhu in mind voice and glanced at karthik to see his reaction..as expected he was looking at her with a naughty grin that made her to grumble..
To save Raji from further embarrassment a girl came from inside and hugged her tightly..
she hugged her back with a smile.."Hey Nisha akka..naalaikku marraige ah vachikkittu inikku inga yenna panra?"she asked in surprise..
"Hey podi ..Roshan ah paarthu yevlo naal aachi theriyumaa?rendu naal aachi..adhaan kovil ku porennu amma ta sollitu Nadhu va kootitu inga vandheten..ippo Roshan vandhuduvaan.."she said with an inarticulate glow in her eyes..
"Akka kattika pora husband ku konjam respect kudu..ippadi avan ivannu yega vasanam vendaam..dai Nandu.."she called nandhu..
"hello yen peru nandhu,nadu illai.."
"rendum onnu dhaan...adhai vidu.. athai ku therinjaa unnai pichi puduvaanga theriyum la ?yendaa ippadi panna?"
"yenna panradhu naanum oru terror thambi role panlaamnu dhaan try panren but namakku indha thoodhu pora Hanumaan role dhaan kedaikkudhu.."he said sadly erupting laughter among his sisters..
then only Nisha noticed karthik and she raised her brows in surprise..
"hey karthik..what a surprise?nee yenga inga?"
Appa jumped in mid to explain.."avaru Raji ya paarkka vandhirukaaru..ippo Raji chennai la thambi kooda orae office la dhaan work panraa.."
"Thambi..Nishaava theriyudhula? oru thadava Bangalore kooda vandhirundhaale.."
karhik furrowed his brows and struggled to recall ..
There comes Raji to his rescue.."Appa adhu yevlo naallukku munnadi nadandhadhu..avarukku yeppadi niyaabagam irukkum?"
"Aamaa correct dhaan.."appa accepted and went inside..
"hey ..adheppadi marakkum .?marakka koodiya mugamaa naan?"Nisha offened..but her concentration had been distracted by the gate opening sound...she sprinted outside with utmost excitement..
Nisha's would be was a very good looking nice person..talks softly most of the time patiently listened to the blabbering of the chatter box Nisha..they were fully into themselves it seemed both of them were in their own la la land paying least attention to their surroundings...
after having some brief talk with Roshan ,karthik was back to his room wondering about Nisha..
"Bangalore la naan paarthennu solraanga..appo adhai pathi kettaa yenna solradhu?onnume theriyalainu sonnaa nalla irukkadhu..."he was comprehending ways to confront Nisha.. .mean time he heard a knock on the door..
"May I come in?" Nisha stood their at the door step..
"pls come.." karthik said.
"hello karthik ,nice to see u after so long.."she said casually and sat next to him on the bed..
he wondered whether they shared such a close relationship that she sat besides him so casually..?
"yenakku theriyum nee yen mela romba kobathula irupennu..appadi irundhaalum adhula onnum thappu illai..naan nadandhukitta vidhathukku yaaraa irundhaalum ippadi indifferent aa dhaan nadandhupaanga..ippo naan yedhukku inga vandhen theriyumaa?unkitta mannippu kekkadhaan...pls yennai mannichidu..for all the mess i had caused in bangalore..yenakke yennai nenaichaa romba kevalamaa irukku..naan romba azhagungara thimir la unkitta yennennamo pesiten i am really very sorry..yennoda college life varaikkum naan appadi dhaan irundhen..but yeppo naan Roshan ah paarthenno yellam change aagiduchi..he changed me completely with his immense love..ippo naan munnadi irundha nisha illai..i am totally changed..thank god ,unkitta pesa munjadhu yenakku romba relieving aa irukku..illaati yenakku idhu oru baaramaa uruthikittae irundhirukkum..nee yennai mannichiduva la karthik?"she asked anxiously..
he can't understand head or tail of her story and also didn't know for what she was begging forgiveness..anyways he doesn't want to disappoint the to be bride and he smiled at her warmly.

but she was astonished by his reply..
"karthik you too have changed a lot..i never expected u to say such soothing words..you know..nee ippo pesinadhu appadiye raji pesura maadhiri irukku..I think u have bewitched by her charm and fallen for her completely."
karthik grinned with a tint of shyness thinking of Raji..
"karthik what a lovely smile..nee sirichi inikku dhaan naan paarkaren..ippadi surprise mela surprise kuduthaa yeppadi yenakku mayakkam varum pola irukke.."she acted as if she felt giddiness...
"karthik unnaiyum raji yayum serthu paarkkum podhu yenakku yevlo sandhoshamaa irukku theriyumaa?yenakku appove theriyum nee raji ya romba love panrennu..Raji ya pathi kekkave vendaam..she was head over heels for u then..appo yenakku poraamaiyaa irundhadhu..aanaa ippo raji ku unnai maadhiri oru paiyan kedaichirukaannuippo nenaichi paarthaa romba happy aa irukku...yenga veetla yellarukkume raji dhaan chellam..avalukku paasatha kaatta mattum dhaan theriyum ..such a lovely girl..u r really lucky to have a girl like raji.."

"mmm..."karthik nodded with a smile..
"yenna sirippu raji ya nallaa paarthupennu promise pannu.illati pichi puduven pichi.."she extended her hand as if asking for a promise.
"yen rajiya paarthukka yenakkae order aa.."though it seemed absurd to him he touched her palm with his to seal the promise..and nisha grabbed his hand for a hand shake in a friendly way..
Raji was restless all these time walking to and forth near the stairs..
"innum yenna pechu vendi kedakku..appadi rendu perum yenna dhaan pesikaraanga?"she bit her nails in tension..
"hello inga yenna kutty potta poonai maadhiri suthikkitu irukka?"nandhu's mocking voice broke her trance..
"dai pesaama podaa.."she shooed him at first but then she stopped him.. "aaahh Nandhu..nisha ka veetukku poga time aachila mela poi kootitu vaa.."
"adhellam onnum time aagalai..."he said carelessly immersed in his mobile games...
raji whacked his back fiercely .."podaa poi koopidudaa..."
"avlo akkariyaa irundhaa neeye poi koopituko..naan yenna un velai kaaranaa?"he said angrily and marched away annoyed for getting beaten up for no reason..
she made up her mind and went upstairs and peeped in his room like a cat..
but shocked to see them hand in hand..
"what the heck..."her mind screamed and loathed the sight..its not that she suspected them yet she felt uneasiness watching them moving closely and casually..
she pouted heavily..
"Nisha ka nandhu koopiduraan veetukku poga time aachaam.."she said looking elsewhere but him..
"iyoo time aachaa?late aa ponaa ammaa yenna thitti theethuduvaa..naan kelambaren karthik.."she hurriedly went out but dashed back immediately with the same momentum..
"iyoo mukkiyamaa vandha velaiya marandhutenae..karthik indha invitation ..ippadi kudukarennennu nenaikaadha sorry..but nee kandipaa marriage ku varanum.."
"illai nisha.."he tried to deny but cut off in the mid by nisha again,,
"i won't buy any of ur excuses..u must come that's it ...ok...bye..bye raji.."
she fled in a jiffy..leaving KR alone..
their prevailed an awkward silence...
"actually u didn't have a nice relationship with nisha akka..in the past.."raji said in a plain voice..
"i could sense that.."he said casually and added.."but its not the same case now.. i can talk to her more comfortably ..
"oh..."she said nonchalantly and turned to leave..
"appuram innoru vishaym .."he stopped her hastily..
"yenna?"
"unga nisha akka oru vishayam sonnaanga.."he said looking at her meticulously..
"yenna sonnaaga..?"she asked gulping hard..her heart beats rapidly...
"inikku Rohan oda friends bachelors party la yennaiyum kalandhukka sonnaa.."
she sighed in relief..but he smiled inwardly knowing her plight..
"adhai yedhukku yen kita solreenga?"she asked irritatingly..
"u know ..bachelors party naa yeppadi irukkum nu..full of fun and drinks.."
"so.."she asked curtly...
"i may get drunk if i go there.."
"neenga kudinga kudikaama ponga yenakku yenna adhai pathi..?"
"appa naan kudichaa unakku onnum problem illai appadi dhaane?"
"ammaa..neenga kudichittu nadu road la urundaa kooda ..i don't care...podhumaa?"
"thanks..for giving permission..today i feel like drinking u know.."
she bit her lips to control her anger..
"do whatever u like...it won't bother me anymore.."
she walked off fiercely...
Though she wished not to pay heed to his words still it ringing in her mind and keep on nagging her so much..it's been a while he went to the party ...she was not sure his mentioning about getting drunk was serious or just to bully her as he usually do..
she can't shrug off the feeling of distastefulness from her mind..that's annoyed her more..
why can't i avoid him as if i wish..?
suddenly her mobile buzzed ,she was terrified to see Roshan was the caller..
"hello "she answered the call nervously..
"hello Raji karthik is drunk and making fuzz here..."tensed voice of roshan made her head go round and round..
