Past in Bangalore
Karthik was explaining a sum to Raji..but she was not fully concentrating instead her eyes stealing glances towards her bag every now and then..
She just nodded her head to whatever he says..
Karthik too watched her distracted state..first he tried to ignore it..but as time passes he lost his temper..and looked at her with a stern look..
It took few seconds for Raji to realize that he had actually stopped teaching..
She slowly lifted her gaze to him only to be welcomed by an angry glare ..she gulped hard..
"ippa naan yenna sonnenu sollu..."He asked with a straight face..
She bit her lower lip nervously..
"Actually what's wrong with u..?your mind is not here.."
However she tried couldn't help but glanced at her bag out of her restrictions...he followed her gaze and found out something fishy about her bag..
"show me your bag.." he almost ordered..
She clutched the bag tightly as if protecting it from him.. the visible protest in her demeanor had puzzled him even more..no matter what he decided to check on her bag..
He grabbed the bag from her hold and opened it and turned it upside down to pour the contents out..
A bouquet of roses fell from it along with few books and notebooks..
Karthik took that bouquet in his hand and flipped it back and forth and found a tag over it..
Raji bit her nails in nervousness..
"I love u Raji..."a note was written on the tag..he instantly looked at her sharply..
She gulped hard in fear..
"What is this...?"he asked with a frown..
"Adhu vandhu..."she stammered..and felt the sweat under her palm..
"Who gave you this..?"He pointed towards the flowers..his voice was dangerously frightening ..that ran a jitter down her spine..
"Class la kooda padikara paiyan..."she replied meekly..
"Avanukku per illaiyaa?"
"Nithish .."
"idhula yezhudhi irukaradhukku artham theriyum dhaane?"
She nodded ..for a yes..
"So unakkum ok dhaan ..adhaan avan poo kudutha udane eee..nu elichittu vaangita..?"
His temper raised with each passing moment..
He thought Raji was nave and innocent ,he actually adored her guileless nature..but what he had now seen ,he couldn't bear that disappointment..the fact that Raji is no more a unique person..but the one among those bunch of day dreaming girls..made him felt defeated badly..
"illai..yenakku avana pidikave illai.."she denied making a yucky face..
"pidikaama dhaan idhai vaangittu vandhu ollichi vachirukiyaa?"he asked in disbelief..
"ungalukku dhaan theriyume..the only think I can't resist in this whole world is rose..ivlo azhagaana flowers ah kudukkum bodhu yeppadi vendaamnu solradhu..paavam la indha roses, naan reject panninaa.. adhukku yevlo varuthamaa aa irukkum...adhaan vaanginen..but avan kitta naan thelivaa solliten..yenakku unnai pidikala..indha roses ah mattum dhaan pidichirukkunnu..."
Her answer stunned him For a moment...Karthik stared at her with mouth agape...literally he just wanted to bang his head on the nearest wall..
"Oh god..what I am going to do with this girl..?even for being innocent there should be a limit...not to this extend seriously. ..this is beyond stupidity."
"loosaa nee..yaaru yenna kuduthaalum vaangipiyaa..?"he shouted at her ..
She pouted her lips..
"Avan poo kuduthaa adhukku naan yenna panradhu? chocolate kooda kuduthaan ..adhuvum forgein chocolate ..adhai yevalavu cut and right aa reject panninen theriyumaa...chummaa chumma yennaiye thitaadheenga.."she grumbled ...
"Oh..panradhaiyum pannittu unakku kobam vera varudhaa..?idhellam therinji panriyaa illai theriyama panriyaa?ponnuga dictionary la venaamnu sonnaa venum nu artham..andha paiyan nee avanoda love proposal ah accept pannadhaa dhaan nenaipaan.."
He explained patiently with a clear note of annoyance..
"naan avan kitta andha flowers ku panam tharennu kooda sollitene.appuram avan yeppadi thappa ninaipaan..?"
"mannaangatti...yevanavadhu vandhu propse pannaa.. moonjila adicha maadhiri "podaa" nu solla thriyaadhu?ippadi avanukku green signal kuduthuttu vandhiruka..yethaiyume urupadiyaa seiya maatiyaa nee? nalaikku avan un veetu vaasalla vandhu nikka poraan paaru.."
"Iyooo...appaavukku therinjaa yennai konne pottuduvaaru...ippo yenna panradhu..Karthik sir..pls..yenkku help pannunga..indha problem la irundhu yennai veliya kondu vaanga.."
"naan solra maadhiri seiviyaa?'
"kandipaa seiren.."
"indha flowers ah thooki kuppai la podu..naalaikki school ku poi andha paiyan kitta..un mela yenakku yendha feelings um illai ..inimel yennai follow pannaa principal kitta complaint panniduvennu sollu.."
She looked at the flowers with sad face..
Karthik inhaled sharply seeing her reluctant face..
"unakku oru koodai rose naan vanngitharen..podhumaa..?modhalla idhai thooki podu.." he said in sheer frustration...he himself didn't know why he desperately wanted her to throw those flowers away..
"Sari...neenga sonna maadhiriye seiyaren...naalaikku neengalum yen kooda school ku varuveenga dhaane?"
She asked expectantly with pleading eyes...though he desperately wanted to beat that guy black and blue..he had realized his role in making this tender young girl to a strong brave girl to face the harsh realities of the world..she can't be pampered for all her life time..so he hid his impulses inside ..and said in a serious tone..
"Inga paaru Raji..don't try to hide behind my back..naan yeppavum un koodave irukka mudiyaadhu..idhu dhaan unnoda vaazhkaiyoda arambam..innum nee indha maadhiri yethanaiyo vishayatha face panna vendi varum..ovoru muraiyum naan un pinnadiye nikka mudiyaadhu..so u must know how to handle such situations..Stand erect and face the situation boldly..unnai paarthaale vaalatanum nu nenaikaravangalukku odhungi poga thonananum...unnoda demeanor appadi irukanum..

She noticed her spine straightened instantaneously with his words..slowly confidence seeping through her veins..
"Will u do that for me?"he asked with a piercing gaze..
How could she deny anything for this man...?"Yes.."she replied with utmost firmness..

Vishnu barge in to Karthik's office..
"dai machaan..nee innum kelambalaiyaa?"
"yengadaa..?"
"Namma koushik marriage party ku.."
"Adhukellam naan varanumaa. podaa.?"Karthik cuts him off..
"Dai..yennadaa ippadi solra?sema party daa..newyear eve um serndhu varudhu..party ,pub ,dance nu chumma kalaikattum..adhuvum ithanaiyum osila kedaikum bodhu yaaraavadhu miss pannuvaangalaa..?vaa daa polaam..."Vishnu tried to convince him..
"Nee venaa po...yennai aalai vidu..i am out of these stuffs.."
"Sari daa nee saamiyaaraave iru..naanga kelambarom..girls vera varennu sonnaga..ready aagitaangalaanu paarkaren.."
"Vishnu.." he called him to stop..he furrowed his brows with a frown..
"Girls aah..?"
"namma team ponnunga dhaan..Lakshmi,Raji.."
"Avangalum varaangalaa?' Karthik asked with slightly appalled voice..
"Aamaandaa..pinna yellaarum unnai maadhiri pazham aa irupaangalaa?"
"Vishnu...appo naanum varen..unnai yellam nambi ponnungala anupa mudiyaadhu..."
"Me..You mean...Vishnu..yennai sandhega paduriyaa?"Vishnu asked in shock..
"Un moonji..unnai appadiye sandhega pattutaalum...party naale nee kudichittu mattai aagiduva..appauram avangala safety aa yeppadi veetukku kondu poi serkaradhu..adhaan yennoda kavalai..?"
"kavalai padaadha machaan..naan driver ku arrange panniten...naan drive panna maaten ok vaa?"
"nee yenna sonnalum sari..i am going that is final.."he said with finality..
Party begins...
Karthik entered into the party area...The party was arranged in a huge garden of the famous resort..high beam of laser rays with multi color raised to sky length welcomed and gathered the attention at first..where the loud music of some famous pop music hits the ear drums hard..and vibrate the whole atmosphere..
The aura of the whole place was full of lively and enthralling..everyone's feet automatically started to tap for the beats of the music..
DJ stage is at the centre and prominent , mostly crowed with youngsters dancing insanely without any hesitation full of energy and fun...
He sieved through the mass crowd for the one face he longing to see..there she is..smiling to her fullest with an extreme glee in her eyes..instantly his heart envied at the person she was smiling at..his mentality didn't changed even though he found out that was only Lakshmi..his legs automatically led him to that place..
"Hi Karthik.."loud cheerful voice from Vishnu made her heart to jump...
She controlled her thudding heart and glanced in his direction looking as casual as possible..
He was in his formal white shirt and pair of black cotton pants..which he had worn for the office..but he had taken off the tie and blazer ,sleeves rolled up to elbow level..and top three buttons were undone..unruly hair..he was more hot in his killer look..her throat went dry seeing his well toned muscles budging out of his open shirt...she felt the heat under her tummy..that was a completely new feel for her that heated up her cheeks instantly ..she averted her gaze quickly feeling very awkward..
On the other hand Karthik's plight also not the less..He tried to take off his gaze from her but he couldn't as his eyes keep on wandering in her direction as if those were bewitched..
She was clad in full length ,white chiffon gown with floral design in black, high round neck ,off shoulder dress..highlighting her each curves flowing smoothly clinging to her figure perfectly..
Her thin slender arm which would always be hidden under her full length formal shirts now feasting his eyes..few curls of her open hair tickling her pinkish cheeks ,tormented his senses..
He let out a sigh feeling very hot even at this winter night..
"Lakshmi come let's grab some drink.."vishnu said..
"Yeah sure..Karthik..?" Lakshmi asked looking towards Karthik..
"Avan soft drinks ah thavira vera yedhaiyum kaila kooda thoda maataan...hall mark gold ..."
Lakshmi laughed..and VL left towards the bar..leaving KR alone.
"Neenga drink panna maateengalaa?"
Raji asked with raised brows..
"idhula ivlo aachariya pada onnum illai..i don't feel like drinking avlo dhaan..i am not fit for that.."
"But indha kaalathula idhu romba periya vishayam.."she said with appreciating tone.
"Naan indha maadhiri party ku ippo dhaan first time varen..Quite excited.."she said with childlike amusement
He quietly watching her face registering each and every minute details of it..
Mean time VL returned with their drinks..also brought some soft drinks for their friends too..
Raji slowly leaned on Lakshmi's side..and whispered in her ears..
"Hey Lakshmi yenna nee drink panra..?romba thappu..."she was surely appalled..
"Raji don't be a party popper..once in a while it is ok..nothing wrong in it...it's just for fun. wanna try some..?"Lakshmi asked..
"Shiva Shiva...naan idhai yellam thoda kooda maaten.."
"Waste di nee..unooda aalum unnai maadhiri dhaan pola..unga rendu perukkum set aagidum.."
Lakshmi mocked her..
"Podhum Lakshmi romba kudikaadha..udambu kettuda pogudhu..."Raji warned her..
"I will take care u don't worry.."
After two or three shots..Lakshmi dragged Raji to the dance floor..and they started to dance with full zeal..
Vishnu was fully engrossed in his vodka..Karthik gave up his futile attempts of stopping him to drink..and shifted his attention to the dance floor..
The dance floor was crowded with so many people..some freaks tried to touch girls in the pretext of dancing..
Raji felt somebody touching her back ..first she thought it was an accident ..so she moved closer to Lakshmi and other girls side..but when someone bumped on her again she was sure it was intentional..she gritted her teeth in anger ..and stared at that jerk angrily..but he smiled toothily..
And Uttered.."sorry babes..you know crowed places like this..it happens.."
Before she raise her hand to smack that jerk..she felt herself being pulled by a strong hand and the next moment she hits a hard chest...her hands clutched his shoulder the moment she realized who it was.. it was him.. her anger swept away by the pleasant shock.. her heart beats started racing with his closeness..she inhaled his intoxicating cologne that makes her feel dizzy... Karthik kicked that man on his feet..with all his might..that made him to flinch in pain..
"Oh sorry buddy..u know crowed places like this..it happens.." he said politely where his look said the different story that were casting deathly glare at him..
Intimidated by that look he slowly slipped inside the crowd and disappeared within no time..
Holding her protectively in his arms..he bent down to her ear and whispered..
"Why can't u give him a tight slap at the beginning itself..?"
"I was supposed to do that but u didn't spare me the chance..."
They were talking close to each other's ears because of the loud music ..
He slowly danced with her to the music..continuing their talk..
"You still like such parties..?"expecting her to say the different answer..
"Of course..i don't want to lose the fun because of that pervert.."
"So u like dancing..?"
"No..I love dancing..what about u..?"
"Well, I am not that passionate but I can be a better partner.."
The huskiness of the voice and the slight brush of his lips on his ear while talking made her heart to skip a beat..she never expected him to come this close to her..Karthik himself behaving totally unlike him as if someone had casted magic spell on him...the new environment and new look adding fuel to their emerging thoughts..
He twirled her around and brought back to his hold...she looked at him with surprise..
"What r u doing?"
"Dancing ..atleast in this way I can shove away the perverts.."the tint of possessiveness in his voice..let her heart to hover in heights..
Having each other very close both of them got affected obviously..the music turned to some romantic number ..that churned both their feelings up..he completely lost his senses and bent down to her hair and inhaled deeply letting her sweet fragrance fill his lungs..
He slowly turned her around and brought back to him with her back pressing his front..he knuckled her long arm from shoulder to fingers and grasped it with his brought to his lips and placed a feather soft kiss on her palm..that fluttered her tummy..she looked at him with her mouth agape in shock..and their gaze fixed ..forgot the whole world..he could feel that all his defenses were crumbled down with her one innocent look..as if spell bounded he bent down to kiss those lustrous lips..which remained slightly open in shock...his daze was broken suddenly with a loud explode of the fire crackers..Happy new year cheers blasted the whole place..and reaches the sky..
Both looked each other with perplexed eyes...
He withdrawn his hands hastily..and ran his hand over his hair...in frustration..
"What the hell u r doing..?Karthik have u gone nuts ?'he taunted himself..
Raji too felt very awkward..and turned to the other side hiding her flushed state..breathing heavily..
Everybody started wishing others "happy new year.."
She glanced his side and said gently.. "Happy new year sir.."she doubted that he might not have heard her soft voice..
But it reached his ears .."Happy new year Raji.."he replied huskily..
"This could be the best New year wish I ever had..."she thought with a shy smile..
Karthik kept his distance from Raji after the unusual thoughts he had experienced for her ,the feelings that he shouldn't have felt for ...whatever may be the reason he knew it was wrong ...he was abandoned to have such feeling in his life..he can't afford to bring Raji into his completely messed up life..she deserves happiness ...definitely not the unfortunate man like him..he resoluted to avoid her by all means..
After wishing koushik and his fianc he decided to leave..
When he reached the parking lot .. he could hear Vishnu yelling at someone over phone..
Besides that Raji and Lakshmi were standing with concerned look..
He approached them ..
"Dai Vishnu yenna aachu?'
"Karthik..indha driver kadaisi nimishathula kazhutha aruthutaan daa..ippa phone panni ammavukku udambu sari ilai vara mudiyaahdhu ,neenga vera driver paarthukongannu solraan..indha nerathula vera driver ah yenga poi theda mudiyum..?"
"Adhaan naan appave sonnen..unnailaam namba mudiyaadhunnu..periya ivan maadhiri arrange pannitennu sonna?"Karthik got mad and yelled at him..
"Sorry daa..thitaadha..naane medhuvaa drive pannitu poidaren..nee bike la pinnadiye follow pannitu vaa sariyaa?"Vishnu asked with pleading look..
"Steering la kaiya vacha unnai konnuduven paarthuko.. ."Karthik threatened him with cold voice..
"Unakku idhellam velaiyaattaa irukkula..full conscious la ottum bodhe accidents nadakkudhu..kudichittu vandi otturaennu solra?pichi puduven .."
"Appo vera yenna dhaan daa panradhu?naan mattumnaa kooda unnoda bike la vandhuduven..Lakshmi yum Raji yum irukaangala..naan venaa yedhavadhu call taxi kedaikkudhaanu try pannatumaa?"
"Call taxi safe illai..venaam.."Karthik rejected out rightly..
"Appo ..namma pasanga yaarkittaiyaavadhu help kekalaamaa?"Vishnu suggested..
Karthik looked at Raji for the first time..though she tried to look normal her wavering eyes looked at tipsy Lakhmi besides her showed her concern ...
He would rather die than to let her under the responsibility some other guy.. He sighed and said..
"Thevai illai naan drive panren.."
"Karthik.. nijamaavaa?are u sure?"Vishnu asked in astonishment..
No matter what ,now his first priority was Raji...he can't leave her in this situation..so he pushed back all his nervousness and said firmly..
"Yeah I am damn sure.."
Vishnu and Lakshmi settled in the back seat ..they dozed off as soon as they got in..Raji occupied the passenger seat...
Karthik took a deep breath to compose himself before settling himself behind the wheels..he badly regretted his impulsive decision once he sat inside the car..
He felt that the closed door of the car suffocating him..his breath hitched..His hands started to shiver..he dropped the key before inserting it in the hole..all the unwanted memories rushed to him and his palpitation increased..he was sweating very badly..he closed his eyes shut in fright...
"Oh god..where I have got struck myself into..?"he wanted to run out the car and wanted to scream his lungs out..he felt so helpless..and timid..
He could see his night mare with his closed eyes..
He heard the laughter sound of his parents...and then suddenly the loud horn of the vehicle..
"karthik..lorry..paarthu..."
"karthik..."a screeching sounds of the wheels...
His parents scream...
"karthik..."
That's it all went blank...
"Amma...appa..."his lips mumbled and his eyes stared pouring continuously..over his closed lids..his hand on the steering wheel become numb and cold..and his whole body trembled in fear..
When he was at the wedge of breaking down..A warm hand touched his hand softly..and gripped it firmly..as a reflex he clutched that hand with his other hand as if it was his last life line..
He opened his eyes instantly looked in that direction..
His eyes met hers ..the utmost compassion in those eyes strangely soothed his tormented heart..there was no place for his ego..the love that reflected in her gaze urged him to hug her atone..he pulled her towards him with a tug and had found a much needed solace in her embrace..
She felt his body shuddered ..and also felt the wetness in her shoulder where he buried his head..
She rubbed his back soothingly..waiting patiently for him to went out all his pent up pain..
He cried like a child who is in mothers arm after got hurt from the bad fall..sthey remained in the same position.. until his shiver completely stops .. slowly his chilled body getting heat from her ...his weeping stopped subsequently..and he slowly broke the hug..
He looked at her with utmost hurt in his eyes..she wiped his face and blinked her eyes comfortingly...
After a while he inhaled sharply ..and started the car with a new determination and energy..
..He knew something has changed in him...some magic happened with her touch..He was ready to fight,not going to give up this time..he wanted to give it a try ..if it was not for him at least for the angel besides him..
He slowly moved the car and let that mingle in the crowd of other vehicles on the main road...
At first all his muscles have been in high alert mode..and his heart thudded even for the horns of other vehicles..he drove so slowly and cautiously..
Raji played the melodious song on the stereo and leaned on the head rest comfortably closing her eyes enjoying the song with calm face..
He watched her in surprise..her act showed her complete trust on him and his driving skill..she was not doubting him what if he might have done accident..she is having full faith on him..that thought elevates his pride to sky level..she was letting herself completely in his custody without any lingering doubt.. it was a confidence booster for him...gradually he became ease and started to enjoy the drive with an angel in disguise besides him..he looked at her in sideways for the brief moment..a small smile appreaed to his lips..
"Thank you so much Raji... u might not have known what u have done to me..u have saved me from one of my biggest nightmares..I am indebted to u..who r u? why u r showing this much affection on me?yaen nee kooda irundhaa yendha prachanaiyayum easy aa kadandhu poidalaam nu thonudhu..?yaaru nee ? yennoda guardian angel aa..?who send u here? yennoda ammavaa..?"
Despite so much of questions lingering in his heart he felt an unknown peace spreading inside...the car was zooming on the highways tearing the misty air matching to the rhythm of the music...
