Karthik unlocked the door with his spare key, making as minimum sound as he could ,he opened the door without any noise, wishing his luck that Raji shouldn't be awake..but luck was not favored him as always, she was wide awake, watching tv ,it was clear that her mind was not in the tv program...her stiffened body clearly hinted that she was aware of his arrival...
He was hell tired and wanted to hit the bed as soon as possible...but he can't do that as of now,he has to pacify his angry wife...he got married to his love Raji after lots of twists and turns...but marriage life was also not that lesser eventful, he was riding in a roller coaster daily...
Loosening his tie, he sat beside her...he tried to talk casually.
"You know what Raji? we got the project..Clients were totally flat on our wonderful presentation... actually Angel did a great job in presentation you know?"
Slightly concerned Raji was back to her stern look, as soon as she heard "Angel's" name...
He bit his tongue immediately after he uttered that name..
"Don't increase ur crime rate Karthik.." he cursed himself for his bad timing..
"I mean to say, we got the project because of our team work, everybody performed well"
"Why u were late" she asked him sternly...
"what Raji? i already messaged u know? I will be coming late as I have to attend the business dinner with clients."
"Oh, ur so called business dinner lasts up to mid night 1'o clock?" she asked sarcastically...
"Heavy traffic Raji, it took me two hours to reach OMR from Mount road" he tried to give reason.
"If you had come straightly to OMR from Mount road, u would have been reached here two hours before itself, but you have to take a "U" turn and travelled all the way to Anna Nagar to reach OMR, so u r late for two hours, am I right Karthik?"
"How did she know that?" he asked to himself.
"Are u spying me?" he asked in anger.
"Stupid, I don't need any spy to tell the obvious, I knew that angel very well , more than that I knew very well about ur social service nature" she replied with the same fervor.
"Whats ur problem Raji? Would u want me to leave her all alone at this late night?" he was also losing his patience..
"Why can't she go by taxi, or go with someone else?"she asked.
"Raji ,try to understand, while she asking for a small help, I couldn't deny that, more over it was not safe to travel by taxi at this late hours u know.." he explained patiently..
"Yeah, that I know, you can't say no to any girl, only person on the whole world u would say NO is ...me"
"It's a small matter, don't blow it into a big issue Raji"
"Don't talk to me" she turned to the other side.
Karthik realized that the discussion was heading in a wrong direction, so he wanted to finish this matter before it turned out to be a big fight.
"Sorry baby, yen chellam, thangam, I won't come late hear after, promise, pakkaa, and I won't give lift to anyone,not even to any grand ma ..believe me" he ensured her.
She looked little convinced by his konjals, he very well knew how to pacify his lovely wife...
He turned her to his side and hugged her, for a moment she accepted that gesture, but suddenly she pushed him away with force..
"What happened Raji?" he questioned her as he couldn't make out anything, few seconds before everything was going out well.
Her eyes were like fire.. He couldn't get anything, all of a sudden what happened to her?
He tried to reach her again...
"Don't even try to come near me." she warned him in a cold voice...
"Raji?" he tried to hold her hand,
"Didn't u hear me? stay away from me, don't ever try ur tactics to pacify me" she shouted at him.
What happened Raji? why r u acting so weirdly ?" he asked in confusion
Her look was somewhat he never seen...
She pointed out his shirt, "whats this?" she asked,
He looked at his shirt where she pointed. A slight lipstick mark was there on the shoulder of his white shirt . At first he went blank, but soon realization struck him hard.
He looked back at her accusing eyes and closed his eyes in remorse.
