Loved this update too Sweety. Andha terms vandhapa konjam puriyama muzhichen. I was imagining myself in that scene. Neenga rendu perum anga pesum bodhu na irundha i would be like watching u both with my mouth open.. Tennis villayudum bodhu viewers reaction irukumla adhu maadhri...

PART 6

Mr.Harshavardhan comes into his cabin and sees Raji and Karthik sitting quietly. He takes his seat and both of them look at him.
Harsha: Got ur ID cards?
Karthik: Yes sir...
Harsha: Look... No Sir or Ma'am allowed here ... you've to address by only name... still if u r uncomfortable, prefix Mr. or Miss... is that clear?
Raji: yeah Mr. Harsha...
Harsha: good Raji... finished lunch?
Karthik: not yet Harsha...
Harsha: Then, come let's go... the cafetaria is in the sixth floor...

Raji: Mr. Harsha why there's no elevator around?
Harsha: what?
Karthik: nothing...
He turns towards Raji and says "Sh..."
Raji: ennaachu?
Karthik: edhukku ippo athai pathi pesare?
Raji shrugs her shoulders and keeps quiet.
Harsha comes out of his cabin and Karthik and Raji follow him.
When they cross the reception area, Receptionist stops them and says "Karthik, Raji your food coupons will be ready tomorrow. As of now I'll call and inform the Cafetaria so that they serve you whatever you ask for."
Karthik: Thank you...

Harsha: No, Roopa... don't bother... today i'm giving welcome treat to them...
Roopa: That's great Harsha...
Harsha: come on ... let's go...
He moves towards the escalator ...
Raji: aaha... Kaliyuga karnan...
Karthik: puriyalai...
Raji:(seriously) enna oru dhaaraala manasu ... free aa serve panra saappadai treat aah thararaam... super...
Karthik laughs and Harsha turns behind and asks"what happened"
Karthik says "nothing" and tries hard to control his laughter.
Raji is calm as if she didn't utter a word.

As they reach the escalator, Karthik looks at Raji and she stretches her hand. He smiles, holds her hand and steps on the elevator. Raji also steps on it but trembles and manages without falling.
The Cafetaria was neat and tidy. There were many Round tables with four chairs each and were arranged nicely.
There was a display board on the left side wall that read:
Today's Menu:--- and a list of items served that day were hand written neatly.
Harsha: Have a look and order both of you and i'll go with my regular.
He goes to the counter and orders for himself.

Karthik and Raji go to the board and take a look at it.
The list included variety of Pizzas, burgers, pasta, noodles, salads and other continental food combos..& fresh juices...
Raji gets upset...
Karthik asks her... enna saappidare?
Raji replies... naan saappidara maathiri edhuvume illai...
Karthik: (smiles) enna saappaadu venumaa?
Raji: atleast tiffen kooda illai...
Karthik: idhellaame tiffen maathiri thaane... aaana saaptaa saappattai vida heavy yaa irukkum...
Raji: enakku venaa...
Karthik: upmaa venumaa?
Raji: ennadhu?
Karthik: onnum illai...
He goes to the counter and orders some pasta and a burger and sits with Harsha.

Raji stares at the menu board for two minutes and goes to the counter.
Karthik's lunch is ready and the person at the counter calls him.."excuse me ... sir..."
Karthik and Harsha were seriously discussing something.
Raji: what happened?
Waiter: that sir's lunch is ready... what can i get for you ma'am?
Raji: mmm... vegetable salad with white pepper and water melon juice...
Waiter: yes ma'am... one sec... Sir...(he again calls Karthik)
Raji: don't bother... i'll give it to him...
Waiter: OK... ma'am...
Raji gets the lunch and keeps in front of Karthik. He is surprised and ...
Karthik: sorry... gavanikkalai...
Raji: it's OK...
Karthik: Thank you...
Raji gets her lunch too and sits with them...

Harsha: are you on a diet?
Raji: no..Mr. Harsha...
Harsha: no.. i just asked looking what you brought for lunch...
Raji: out of the display list... i can afford only this...
Harsha: oh.. no... everything is cost free here...
Karthik couldn't control and laughs...
Harsha looks at him like why is he laughing??
Karthik: sorry Harsha... she didn't mean that way... she's trying to say that she can't afford to eat...
Harsha: OK...
And they continue with their lunch...
Harsha finishes first and ...
Harsha: Rajathi... Karthik...
both look at him...
Harsha: I've few important calls to make... you finish lunch and come to my cabin... we've to start off...
Raji: Ok..
Harsha leaves and they continue to have lunch...

Karthik: ippadi saaptaa seekkiram pasikkum...
Raji: enakku idhellaam pazhakkam illaiye...
Karthik: Ok... your wish...
Both of them finish lunch and come downstairs.

Harsha is busy on his laptop and Karthik and Raji enter his cabin.
Harsha: please be seated... just five minutes... i'll finish this off and come...
Raji and Karthik nod and sit in front of him.
Few minutes later, Harsha sits relaxedly and starts explaining their work. He gives a detailed explanation about the firm, general work carried at Audit firms, the way people are trained here, work responsibilties and on...and so on...
It's almost two hours and Harsha stops for a break...
Harsha: shall we have some coffee?
Karthik: Ya... Harsha... feel like having one...
Harsha: Rajathi... youself... coffee or tea?
Raji: nothing ...
Harsha: but why? Coffee is such a stress reliever during work...
Raji: i don't drink coffee, tea Mr.Harsha...
Harsha: OK...
Harsha dials cafetaria and orders two coffee..
Raji: Harsha...
Harsha: Rajathi... we'll continue after coffee...
Raji: this is not related to work...
Harsha: OK go on ...
Raji: can i bring lunch from home from tomorrow?
Harsha: ya.. ofcourse... nobody does that...you can't bring packed food from outside... but still if it's home cooked no problem...
Raji: Thank you... and one more...
Harsha: what?
Raji: our mobiles being switched off... just in case of any emergency how will my parents contact me?
Harsha: oh... that's not a big issue at all... you can give our office number... extn to this cabin is 686... even you can make calls from here if required... but no unnecessary chit chat allowed... the rule is for all... even my mobile is in the locker...
Raji: that's great...
A waiter comes with coffee, waits and takes the empty cups away...
Harsha continues the discussion.
One hour later...
Harsha: that's done for today... from tomorrow... you'll have training for two days... you may start home now...
Karthik: THank you Harsha...
Raji: Thank you...

Both of them come out of the cabin, go to the locker room, take their stuff and come out of the building.
Karthik: how are you going home?
Raji: by bus...
Karthik: OK... then... are you coming tomorrow?
Raji:(smiles): yes...
Karthik:(smiles)... see you tomorrow... then and nice meeting you...
Raji: bye...
Karthik: bye...
Karthik and Raji come to the main Road, Karthik stops a running auto and gets into it. Raji walks towards the bus stop.

The pressure cooker blows whistle so loudly that Raji lost in the memories of Karthik comes to harsh reality, realises where she was and turns off the burner. She looks at the time and starts cooking. Half an hour later, Karthik's amma comes to kitchen.
Raji: amma... enna venum?
Amma: arisi maavukkaaga vandhen ...
Raji: sari...
Amma takes rice flour in a bowl and leaves. Half an hour later, Raji is busy deep frying vadai and someone comes behind and closes her eyes...

Raji smiles and says..."hi ...Lakshmi..."
Lakshmi removes her palms off Raji's eyes and smiles...
Lakshmi: eppadi Raji kandupidiche?
Raji: just ippo thaan... ennadaa... Vishnu, Lakshmiya innum kaanome nnu nenachittu irundhen... neenga vandhu kannai moodineenga... adhaan...
Lakshmi: oh appadiyaa?
(Lakshmi is Vishnu's wife... who is a doctor...)
(her intro and details of VL love will be unfolded later)
Vishnu enters the kitchen saying..."hi Raji..."
Raji: hi Vishnu... eppadi irukkeenga... en late uu?
Vishnu: naan illa paa... madam thaan ...
Lakshmi: ivanaala thaan...ready aayittu polaamaa nnu kekkumbodhu...chudidhaar venaa... pudavai kattittu vaa nnu ore amarkkalam...adhaan late...
Vishnu: Raji... exam ku pogaliyaa?
Raji: poren... 10'o clock thaane...
Vishnu: exam centre enge?
Raji: adayar la thaan..
Vishnu: oh appo pakkathula thaan...
Raji: mmm...

Lakshmi: any help Raji?
Raji: illa Lakshmi... ellaam mudinjudhu... Vadai mattum thaan... adhuvum last time...
Lakshmi: OK..
Karthik's parents come there and greet Vishnu and Lakshmi...
Appa: vaa daa Vishnu... ippo thaan variyaa?
Vishnu: aamaa paa... eppadi irukkeenga?
Appa: mmm... irukkom...
Amma: enna Lakshmi??? onnum visesham illaiyaa?
Lakshmi: innum illai maa... (blushes...)
Amma: oorula appa amma thambi ellaam soukyamaa?
Lakshmi: mmm... ellaam nallaa irukkaanga... maa...
Amma: Raji ... mudinjudhaa?
Raji: aachu maa...
Amma: sari neenga rendu perum ellathaiyum eduthuttu hall ku vaanga... Vishnu... poyi veshti kattittu vaa...
Vishnu: OK... maa...

Raji and Lakshmi bring all the cooked dishes to the living room and place them in a corner.

Vishnu comes to Karthik's room. He looks around it fondly...
He goes to the cupboard, takes a dhothi and wears it. while doing so he remembers how Karthik would make fun of him whenever he tried to wear a dhothi and end up tying himself.
And finishing that he always used to tickle Vishnu in his waist and make him run the entire house. Vishnu laughs aloud and then realises he was alone there. He looks at the right side wall. Karthik was smiling in the photo holding Vishnu close to him and his arms around his shoulders. Tears roll on his cheek and he says..." machaan...nee illaama Vaazhkai oru varusham odiduchi daa..."

Lakshmi enters and wipes his tears...
Lakshmi: samaali Vishnu... innum nee vandha vela mudiyalai...
appuramaa orutharukku moonu perai samaalikkanum... please... control daa... nee azharadhai parthaa Raji kashta paduvaa...
Vishnu: Lakshmi... Raji kku wish panniyaa?
Lakshmi : enakku dhairyam pathalai... neeyum vaa...
Vishnu: rendu perum serndhu wish pannaa nalla irukkadhu Lakshmi...
Lakshmi: ennaala mudiyalai Vishnu... azhudhiduveno nnu bayamaa irukku...
Vishnu: enakku advise pannittu ippo neeye ippadi solre?
Lakshmi: sari.. vaa... pogalaam ... padayal podanumaam... unakkaaga waiting...
Vishnu goes near Karthik's photo and touches it..and says... "miss you badly... daa".
He comes downstairs and Lakshmi follows him...

All the procedures were finished and the priests were giving further instructions...
They receive Dakshinai, bless Raji and leave...
Lakshmi and Raji place a big banana leaf in front of Karthik's photo and arrange all the food dishes in it...
Karthik's appa does the aarathi and everyone pray with folded hands.
Raji sits on the floor and keeps gazing at Karthik's photo.
Lakshmi comes and makes her get up from there and come to the dining table. Vishnu comes there and gives her a parcel.
Raji: enna Vishnu idhu...
Vishnu: happy birthday Raji...
Raji: (smiles) Thank you... ippo edhukku gift ellaam...
Lakshmi: idhu naanga vaanginadhu illa...
Raji: vera yaaru vaanginaa?
Vishnu: Karthik...
Raji: ennadhu?? (looks shocked...)
Vishnu: ungaloda pona birthday annaikke edhu select panradhu nnu decide panna mudiyaama niraiya vaangittaan pola... birthday ku onnu kuduthittu ... mathadhellaam Kalyaanam pannikkum bodhu kudukkanum nu nenachaanaam...
Raji: ungalukku eppadi theriyum?
Vishnu: hospital le sonnaan... avalukkaaga aasai aasaiyaa vaanginadhellaam Flat la irukku... avaloda ovvoru birthday ku onnu gift aah kudu daa nnu sonnaan...
Tears roll from her eyes as she takes the parcel from him.
Raji: Vishnu ... neenga irupeenga thaane?
Vishnu: evening varaikkum iruppen... enna Raji?
Raji: ennai exam centre la drop panreengalaa?
Vishnu: Karthik bike la yaa?
Raji: mmm...
Vishnu: sari... ethanai manikku?
Raji: innoru 15 mins la kilambinaa correct aah irukkum...
Vishnu: OK...
Raji: naan dress maathittu varen...

Raji goes to Karthik's room and opens the parcel...
She takes out a pretty chudidhar of Pink and Skyblue combination and there was a small note under it... it was written by Karthik... She takes it out and reads...
" I know ... my darling will look gorgoeus in this dress and i can't control myself to be at a distance... just looking at you... hence keeping this aside to give you after marriage...I LOVE YOU..."
Raji kisses the note, keeps it safely in the cupboard, wears the chudi and looks at Karthik's photo...
Raji: Thank you... Karthik... nallaa irukka?
She comes near his photo, kisses him and says ... time aachu... naan nallaa ezhudhanum nu enakkaaga perumaalai vendikko... exam mudichittu vandhu pesaren...

She comes downstairs and Karthik's amma gives her payasam to eat.
Raji: venaa maa...
Amma: padayal pottaachu ille... sweet saappidalaam... verum vayithoda exam ku pogaathe...
Raji:mmm.. sari maa...
She finishes the payasam quickly, looks at Vishnu and says ... "kilambalaam Vishnu... appuram late aayidum..."
Vishnu takes the keys and goes out.
Raji touches Karthik's parents feet and they bless her saying "All the best"...and Lakshmi comes to her...
Lakshmi: Raji...
Raji: enna Lakshmi?
Lakshmi gives her chocolates saying..."Happy Birthday..."
Raji takes them saying "Thank you"...
Lakshmi: all the best... exam mudichittu vaa... niraiya pesanum...
Raji: OK...

Raji comes out and gets on the bike and Vishnu drives towards the exam centre...
Vishnu: chocolate melt aayidapodhu.. saappidu Raji...
RAji: illa venaa...
Vishnu: yen...
Raji: Karthik kadaisiyaa saaptadhu intha chocolate thaan... oru varusham aachu naan chocolate saaptu...
Vishnu stops the bike, turns and looks at her. She smiles.
He again starts the bike and Raji fondly remembers how Karthik made her share the chocolate last year...

Karthik was sitting in the living room with his laptop and Raji was searching something in the refrigerator. She keeps on searching and Karthik asks her.."enna thedareenga Madam?"
Raji: chocolate...
Karthik: adhai thaane kaalaile irundhu saaptutte irukkiye...
Raji: illa... appuramaa saapidalaam nu onnu intha side door la vachen... kaanum...
Karthik: nallaa paaru... angeye irukkum...
Raji: illai... Karthik...
Karthik: chocolate kenna kai kaal aah molachi irukkum... kaanaama pogarathukku...
Raji: pathu nimishamaa thedaren...
Karthik: sari ... naan thedi kuduthaa ... enakku enna tharuve?
Raji: ey... nee olichu vachirukkiyaa?
Karthik: aala paaru... enakku vera velai illai... ponaa poguthu thedi tharalaam nu parthaa... neeye thedikko... kannaadi pottirukkiyaa? appo OK...
Raji: please Karthik... enakku temptation adhigamaayitte irukku...
Karthik: ennai enna pannanum nu solre?
Raji: eduthu vachirundhaa kuduthidu... illennaa poyi vaangittu vaa...
Karthik: enna vilaiyaaduriyaa? inge irundhu 4 km ponaa thaan
departmental store irukku... adhukku thaane varumbodhe ethanai venumo vaangikko nnu sonnen...
Raji: adhukku thaan oru diary milk fridge la vachen... adhu kaanom... please... Karthik...
Karthik takes the chocolate from his pocket and shows it to Raji...
Raji: enakku theriyum... idhu unnoda velai thaan nu...
She comes near him and stretches her hand..."kudu Karthik.."
Karthik: enakkum saappidanum pola irukku... fifty fifty.. share
pannikkalaam...
Raji: sari... OK...
Karthik takes the wrapper off and goes to bite it Raji says "stop..."
Karthik: ennaachu?
Raji: renda odachi kudu...
Karthik: en... kadichaa enna?
Raji: hmmm... venaa... yechai...
Karthik: ennadhu???? yechaiyaa?? enna panren nu paaru...
He holds the chocolate between his lips and says.."ippo eduthukko.."
Raji bangs her hand on her head and says "vilaiyaadaadhe Karthik ... please..."
Karthik removes the chocolate and says ..." naan konjam konjamaa kadichu saaptukitte iruppen. naan full aah saaptu mudikkaradhukulla unakku venum naa indha pakkam kadichikko... illennaa naan saaptu mudichiduven... appuram un ishtam..."
He shrugs his shoulders and puts the chocolate back and starts eating it...
Raji was helpless and she couldn't control her temptation either.
She looks at him and stretches her hand to break the chocolate but Karthik holds her hand and draws her closer to him. Looking into his eyes she gets mesmerised and starts biting the chocolate from the otherside .
Two minutes later when there was not a even a millimetre of chocolate left, Karthik kisses Raji first softly and then passionately...
Raji pushes him back gasping, he winks and says " I LOVE YOU"...
Raji blushes and says " I LOVE YOU TOO..."
Karthik hugs her and says "WISH YOU MANY MORE HAPPY RETURNS OF THE DAY"...

Raji comes to her senses as Vishnu stops the bike and says "Raji... vandhittom..."
she gets down the bike and Vishnu says "All the Best" to her...
Vishnu: ethanai manikku varattum?
Raji: exam oru manikku mudiyum... neenga oru manikku veetla kilambunga... neenga inga reach aagarthukulla naan ulla irundhu vandhiduven...
Vishnu: Ok... ingeye wait paanunga ... Ok... bye...
Vishnu drives off...
Raji enters the exam centre and looks at the notice boards, finds her room and reaches there. Karthik' s smiling face keeps flashing in her mind and she sits in her place and closes her eyes...
She thinks..."Please... Karthik... exam nallaa ezhudhanum..."
The invizilator gives answer sheet and Question paper to her and takes her signature on the attendance sheet...
Once having a look at the question paper, Raji forgets everything in and around her and starts answering...

Sweety, such an emotional episode...made me sad with the present when Raji and Vishnu look at Karthik's picture and in his room...tear...

This story is very good, but i am not able to control my emotions that raji's loveable person is no more. Even though it is a story- i cannot accept tragedy- just living with memories is terrible, as well cannot even imagine it. I don't want any lovers to go through this miserable life at very young age. Please do some miracle and bring an ever ending joy to this story...
