The Angel

A beauty so fine

So surreal her being

I wish she were mine

I could stop her from fleeing.

The strength of her healing

So powerful yet mild

Tincturing my scattered feelings

Appeasing the man and child.

Protecting my innocence

Brightening my perceptions

Love and reverence

She kindled all my affections.

So compassionate her eyes

Her lap soft and warm

Her reassurance so wise

The calm after the storm.

Her hands on my head

Her incessant, soothing caress

The Commoner's stead

Wisdom of the Sorceress.

Her touch so sweet

Her presence rejuvenating

My Angel, we did meet

After a lifetime of waiting.

But where do you hide?

Where have you gone?

My solace, my guide

The bringer of my dawn.

My Angel we did meet...

Or was it a vivid dream?

Is my mind a cheat?

Or are you hope's gleam?

Were you a mere fantasy

Born out of my vice of drinking?

Did I conjure and see

A result of my own thinking?

But the familiarity you evoked

Can that be false too?

Softly, as you stroked

Is that the clue?

You felt like the Commoner

Your quiet persistence

You spoke like the Sorceress

Breaking my resistance.

As I decided to quit

You firmly dissuaded

Just like the Sorceress

My psyche you invaded.

The lullaby of your voice

Was like the Commoner's tinkle

The stubbornness with which

You wiped my forehead's wrinkle.

You're the best of both worlds

My Angel your shadow I chase

But there is only one world

My heart adamantly says.

I shut my eyes to see you

A revelation I plead

I finally get the epiphany

The one to satiate my need.

I finally get my answer

A reconciliation of heart and mind

Always lying before my eyes

Oh! I've been so blind.

The Sorceress who stitched my mind together

The Commoner whose heart I tore

You've been playing games, my Angel

Why didn't I see before?

Morphing from one into another

Angel, you are all three

Finding ways to prevent me from breaking

Angel you've set me free.

Angel, may I hold your hand

Ask for a peaceful embrace?

O Sorceress! Take me to your dreamland

Commoner, can your heart still make place?

I never knew there was this little poetess in you, just waiting to unleash her magic. All three of them are wonderfully woven piece of artwork.
It's beautiful how you've played with the words and more so, the intricate thread that weaves around the entirety of it all.
I'm quite amazed. Not everyday, you come around people who have appreciation for poem. I'm just so amazed, really.
