"navya, please relax. I'm not going to do anything to you, and I didn't see anything." Anant tried to comfort her. He didn't understand why she was so uncomfortable. He thought they'd made so much progress at the spa. And it's not like they hadn't lived together before. Of course, they'd never been in such a compromising situation before, but he hoped navya would trust him enough to at least acknowledge him. She was acting as if he was plotting to take advantage of her. Anant glanced over at navya, who was shivering profusely. 2

"Navya," Anant moved closer to her but didn't touch her, "You're cold. Come here." He held out a hand, placing it on her sheet covered shoulder.

navya flinched away from him.

"navya, what is it? Look at me." Anant gripped navya's shoulder and turned her around to face him.

"I don't like this." said navya quietly. 2

"I know you don't, but you need to trust me, okay? I'm not going to do anything. Come here. You're shivering." Anant held his arms out, and navya scooted closer to him. He wrapped his arms around her and held her close. navya felt relieved as she felt the heat that radiated off of Anant's body.

"Anant, I do trust you." navya said as she nestled into his bare chest.

"Thanks," Anant said, smiling. He felt the urge to kiss her. He placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. navya looked up at him in surprise. He place another soft kiss on her cheek.

"Anant," navya whispered. She felt herself succumbing to Anant's affection. Anant realized what was happening. He was taking advantage of their close proximity after he'd promised he wouldn't.

"I'm sorry, navya. I shouldn't have..."Anant started to apologize

Just then, navya reached up and kiss Anant. She pulled away and looked into his eyes. He looked at her, shocked by what she'd just done. She'd never been the one to initiate a kiss before. He could see traces of blush on her cheeks, and she no longer looked uncomfortable. navya waited for Anant to say something. When he didn't, she pulled away from him, embarrassed by what she'd just done.

"No, wait. Don't move away." Anant said as navya began to shift her position. She paused and remained in anant's arms.

"What do you want to happen tonight?" Anant asked bluntly.

"I...I don't know. Whatever happens though, happens." navya answered. 13

Anant looked at navya unsurely. She had no idea how much he wanted her right at this very moment. He wasn't sure what had gotten into her. She'd all of a sudden become so much more receptive towards his advances. It was so unlike her. Anant didn't want to think too much about it though. All he wanted to do was kiss navya. And so with that, Anant captured her' lips with his. He kissed her so passionately that navya couldn't think straight. navya froze before allowing herself to kiss back. Anant shifted positions so that he was hovering over navya, careful not to place his weight on her. His hands traveled down her body. He wanted desperately to unwrap the towel that covered her and run his hands all over her gorgeous body, but he knew navya would object.

navya shivered at anant's touch. She was afraid of what was going to happen tonight, but she knew she wanted it just as much as Anant did. Her body ached for him. She felt this intense longing inside of her that could only be satisfied through Anant's touch. The passion between the two had reached a new height. navya moaned in pleasure as Anant sprinkled kisses down her neck. He reached for the lights and turned them off, immersing the room in darkness. He began tugging at navya's towel, paying attention to her expression. She didn't seem to notice. She was too engrossed in the affection Anant was pouring over her.

He connect his lips with hers again. His trapped her arms against the the bed, pulling them over her head. His lips met her neck. He started nibbling on her ear, making her moan even more, as he pulled the towel off of her. navya clutched the sheets tightly around her body. She turned away, embarrassed to be so exposed. Anant's expression softened. He knew navya was shy, and he wanted to make her feel more comfortable. He kissed her shoulder and down her back. He felt navya stiffen, but she didn't object. He pulled the sheets lower and lower as he kissed downward. Soon, navya' entire back was exposed. Anant caught his breath. She was beautiful. He slowly turned her around. He saw that navya's eyes were closed and she was clutching the sheets to the front of her chest. Anant kissed her forehead, and then the bridge of her nose, and then her lips. navya's eyes fluttered open. She offered Anant a shy smile, encouraging him to continue. Anant furiously kissed her, ravaging every part of her mouth. 2

Suddenly, he went still. He pulled away from navya, breaking their kiss.

"No!" Anant cursed.

"What's wrong?" navya asked breathlessly.

"We can't do this." Anant said.

"But this is what you wanted." navya countered.

A wave of guilt hit Anant. He cheated on navya! She deserved so much better than him. He needed to tell her. He couldn't sleep with her knowing that she didn't know about his infidelity. He knew she'd be angry with him for cheating on her, but if he slept with her tonight, she would never ever forgive him. He couldn't afford to take that risk. navya was too important to him. 1

"I'm sorry, navya. Not tonight." Anant said. He turned away from navya, his back facing her.

Navya looked at him in disbelief. Anant had just rejected her. She couldn't believe that after all of that, he just stopped. navya pulled the discarded towel around herself again, and just laid there thinking about what could've happened but didn't happen. Why was Anant acting this way?

"Good morning, our clothes are dry for the most part. The storm passed last night. We need to get going." anant said. He sounded distracted. His mind was on the business conference events he has to attend. +

"Last night." navya piped in, after stirring awake.

"It's all forgotten. Don't worry. Now hurry up. I'm going to call a taxi." anant said quickly. He turned and walked out the door, closing it behind him.

Forgotten? How could Anant forget a night like that? navya sure couldn't. She sat idle for a few minutes trying to regain her composure. She wanted to cry but the tears wouldn't fall. She decided that now wasn't the time to be sad. She got out of bed and went into the bathroom to quickly get dressed before she met Anant in the lobby.

"Great, you're here. The taxi is waiting." Anant said upon seeing navya.

They stayed quiet through the entire ride back to their hotel. Anant was in business mode. Upon entering his suite, he jumped in the shower and put on one of his finest suits. He was going over some important documents when he heard a quiet knock on the glass door adjoining his and navya's rooms.

"Come in," Anant said carelessly.

navya, now dressed in a simple black sari, entered. She looked at Anant, who still focused his attention on his documents.

"Are you busy?" navya asked.

"Just give me a second." Anant was scanning over the last of the documents.

"Okay, did you need something?" Anant said, looking up at her.

"I can come back later if your busy." navya said, suddenly nervous

"No, it's okay. What is it?" Anant urged on.

"I wanted to talk about last night." navya said.

"What about it?" asked anant unsurely.

"We can't just forget about it." navya continued.

"navya, I think it's best that we do. I didn't mean for any of it to happen. It was just the moment, you know." Anant explained. His mind traveled to Tamana. He realized that he couldn't fall for navya. He wouldn't allow himself to before he confessed to her. She deserved better than him and his infidelity. 4

"But Anant, it was special. Didn't you think so? I actually think I might be..." navya said.

"No navya! It wasn't special. It just happened. We didn't even go all the way. We're married. These things happen. Just forget about it." Anant demanded angrily. He abruptly picked up his documents and left, slamming the door behind him. 6

Navya stood there completely dumbfounded. What had she done to make Anant so angry? Anant couldn't think straight at the business conference. He contributed little to the discussions and depended on Hiten to make any decisions that needed to be made.

"What the hell is going on with you? I actually had to give a shit in those meetings." Hiten chastised Anant as soon once they entered the cab. 2

"Sorry." Anant replied.

"Dude! What's going on?" Hiten prompted.

"After your spa present, we got caught in a storm last night." Anant told Hiten.

"Sucks for you." Hiten replied without even a hint of guilt.

"Thanks, Hiten. I can totally count on you to sympathize with me." Anant said sarcastically.

"What did you do in the storm?" Hiten asked.

"We found this shitty little motel and spent the night there." Anant answered.

"Good! At least you were safe." Hiten said happily.

"It's what happened at the motel, Hiten." anant said seriously.

"What happened?" Hiten asked, suddenly worried.

"Navya and I were about to have sex." Anant said, quietly so the cab driver wouldn't hear.

"Hell yes! Gettin' dirty in the motel." Hiten snickered.

"Hiten, be serious." Anant said.

"Okay. Serious Hiten." Hiten said in mock seriousness.

"I can't sleep with her before I tell her the truth." Anant revealed.

"The truth about...her?" Hiten asked.

"Yeah. It would kill her if she found out after the fact." Anant said. "I can't do that to her. I need to tell her."

"Anant, you're a good man. I think it's a good thing that you want to tell Bhabhi. Sure she'll be mad, but I hope she forgives you." Hiten said.

"Yeah I hope so too." Anant said, dismally.

Anant sulked all the way back to the hotel. Hiten tried desperately to lighten the mood, but he was unsuccessful. He hurried into his room, ready to call Aditi and drown out any potential yelling that is bound to result from Anant's confession.

Anant knew he had to confess sooner or later. The guilt was too much for him. He knew navya was falling in love with him, but he couldn't allow that to happen before everything was out in the open. He went inside his room. The glass door was open, so he went inside navya's room hoping to find her there.

"Navya," Anant called.

Navya walked into Anant's view.

"I'm sorry about this morning." He said quickly.

"It's alright." navya answered.

"I need to talk to you though." Anant replied.

"About what?"navya asked

"Last night was a mistake, a big mistake. I'm so sorry I got carried away." Anant said.

"A mistake? Was it really, Anant? I thought it was wonderful." Navya said.

"navya, I can't love you." Anant blurted out. 3

"What? Why not?" navya asked, surprised. Her heart was breaking. Why couldn't Anant love her?

"I...I just can't." Anant said. He didn't know how to tell her.

"What did I do? I don't understand." navya had tears in her eyes.

"You didn't do anything wrong, navya." Anant said. He wiped away a tear that had fallen onto her cheek.

"Then what is it?" navya asked.

"I did something I'm not proud of." anant said.

"What did you do?" navya asked unsurely.

"Navya, I'm so sorry." Anant replied. +

"What did you do, Anant?" navya asked.

"I cheated on you. I slept with another woman, Navya." Anant confessed. 22

"What?" The words were difficult fornavya to register. "What did you just say?"

"I cheated on-" Anant couldn't finished his sentence. navya slapped him with all the strength in her. How dare he betray her! Anant paused for a moment, trying to gather what had just happened. He looked at navya, hoping she was done slapping him. She was looking at her hand as if she couldn't believe what she had just done. 10

"navya, I'm so sorry." Anant said, his voice quivering.

Tears started flowing from navya's eyes. She didn't say anything.

"navya, please say something." Anant prompted.

"How could you? How could you betray me like this, Anant? I trusted you!" navya's voice was shaking and it rose in volume in as she spoke.

"I'm sorry, navya. I just...I wasn't thinking." Anant tried to explain. He didn't know what to say. He didn't want to cause navya any more pain.

"This isn't happening." navya said more to herself than to Anant. She turned away from him and took a few steps forward. She was shaking her head from side to side.

Anant watched her carefully.

"I needed to tell you." He began. "I didn't want to keep lying to you."

she didn't responded. She was still turned away from Anant, so he couldn't see her expression.

"Navya, please." Anant reached for her. His hands landed on her shoulders, but she quickly pushed them away.

"Don't touch me!" she nearly screamed. 2

Anant backed away from her, giving her some space.

"Navya, I know you're upset. You're angry. You deserve to be. What I did was horrible. I never wanted to hurt you, navya. Please, believe me. That's the last thing I'd ever want to do." Anant said.

"But you did hurt me." navya said quietly. "Anant, you're my husband...and you were with another woman. How wouldn't this hurt me?"

"I'm sorry, navya. I know it's going to take some time, but will you please forgive me?" Anant asked sadly.

"Anant, if I made the same mistake, would you be able to forgive me?" navya replied, tears falling down her cheeks. 17

Anant sighed. He knew the answer and so did navya. She walked away from him and stood at the glass door that joined their rooms, waiting for Anant to leave.

"Navya, I-" anant started.

"Get out." navya said angrily. 2

Anant stood still for a second. He accepted defeat, understanding that navya needed to be alone right now. He walked over to the glass door and stepping into his own room after giving navya one more pleading look. As soon as Anant was out of her room. navya closed the glass door, locked it, and pulled the curtains closed, obstructing Anant's view into her room. She couldn't bear to look at him right now.

Anant looked absently at the curtains. He knew navya wouldn't react well to his confession, but he expected her to break down in his arms. He wanted to comfort her until she forgave him. Of course, he knew that it would take some time for her to fully trust him again. However, he hadn't expected her to completely shut him out like she just did. 7

Navya wanted to stay strong, but she couldn't. Anant had broken her trust and her heart. She laid down in her bed and absorbed the entire situation. She couldn't believe what anant had done. She believed he was a good person. And now, she wasn't so sure. She curled into bed and broke down crying. She didn't even try to hold any of it in. Anant had broken her inside. +

The next day, Anant attended the last day of the business conference without her. Once again, Hiten who handled everything. Anant didn't even try to listen to what was happening. Hiten hadn't once asked about what had happened last night. He knew that now wasn't the time.

Rakesh sauntered into the room with a huge grin on his face. He dominated the meetings, showing his sharp business acumen. Anant didn't seem to care.

"Anant, what's with you? You seem to be out of it." Rakesh commented once he dismissed the last meeting.

"I'm fine." Anant replied.

"Here," Rakesh threw a document down on the table.

"What's this?" Anant asked, looking through the file.

"It transfers over three of your companies, and a third of your wealth over to me. Sign it...unless of course, you want your precious navya to find out about your affair." Rakesh said maliciously.

"What the hell? That's extortion!" Anant stood up angrily.

"Yeah I guess it is." Rakesh agreed.

"Are you telling me you're trying to force me to hand over three of my companies and millions of dollars to you so you won't rat me out to my wife?" Anant asked through gritted teeth.

"Are you deaf? Yeah that's what I'm saying. Now sign the damn papers!" Rakesh replied.

"You're an idiot!" Anant said to Rakesh.

"What did you just say?" Rakesh demanded.

"I said you're an idiot. And you're an asshole! I told navya already! You have nothing on me, but I'm giving this to the cops." Anant said. He held up his phone, which had Rakesh's voice confirming his intent to extort money and property from Anant.

Rakesh dove for the phone, but Anant moved out of the way just in time. Rakesh hit his head on the table and laid on the floor in pain. Anant hurried out and hailed a cab. There was no way Rakesh would find him now. He didn't know where his hotel was, and Anant intended to take his evidence to the police before reaching New York. He knew Rakesh would be arrested before coming back to New York.

"You did what?!" Hiten exclaimed.

"I got Rakesh arrested for extortion." Anant repeated to his best friend.2

"Damn! He had it coming! That bas***d! Tryin' to blackmail you like that!" Hiten said.

"Yeah, I can't believe he actually thought I'd be stupid enough to give him my companies." Anant agreed.

"So...how did last night go? Does Bhabhi hate you?" Hiten asked slowly.

"Yes, she won't even look at me. I haven't spoken to her since I told her." Anant revealed.

"She'll come around. Make sure you treat her well." Hiten offered.

"Yeah I will. I never wanted to hurt her." Anant said.

"I know you didn't." Hiten said.

"Navya" Anant knocked on the glass door that was still covered with curtains on navya's side. "I know you're still angry with me. I just wanted to let you know that Rakesh was arrested today."

Anant waited for a response from navya. Nothing happened.

"He was arrested for extortion. He tried to force me to sign over some of my companies and millions of dollars over to him. navya, I didn't add attempt to rape charges. Your reputation is safe. And he's still going to jail. He can never hurt you again." Anant said. He wasn't sure if navya was listening to him, but it was important that he told her about Rakesh's arrest.

navya listened carefully to Anant's words. She was elated that Rakesh had been arrested and thankful that Anant hadn't involved her in the police report. She couldn't find it in her to respond to him though. She was still too hurt. 3

Anant and navya were scheduled to fly back to New York tonight. Hiten, who was unable to make it on the same flight, booked a morning flight for the next day. They sat beside each other in awkward silence. Anant would often glance at navya, hoping for some sort of reciprocation, but nothing ever happened. She always seemed to be gazing out the window, lost in another world. A part of anant hoped navya would fall asleep as she often did on late night flights and would lean onto his shoulder for support. He was willing to take any bit of acknowledgement from her. She didn't seem angry or upset with him, just distant, and it was driving him insane. After their long and thoroughly silent limo ride back to the mansion, navya immediately retired to her bedroom without so much a glance at Anant. Anant decided that it was in his best interest to leave her alone right now. It was obvious she didn't want anything to do with him.

"He what?!" Neha nearly spat out her champagne in shock.

"He said he cheated on me." navya confirmed.

"That bas***d! I'm going to kick his ass! How dare he!" Neha exclaimed angrily. She began pacing the living room in anger, muttering to herself.

"Neha," navya said unsurely. navya had invited Neha over because she was in desperate need of some advice.

"You need to get revenge!" Neha declared, once again taking a seat on the couch.

"Revenge? How?" navya asked.

"Sleep with another man." Neha said casually. 4

"Neha!" navya nearly choked on her juice. "I can't do that."

"I would." Neha added nonchalantly. "Nikhil better not try anything."

"What do I do though?" navya asked.

"Show him you can be just as sexy as that bimbo he screwed. He'll pine for you, navya, and then you let him know that he can't have you. That will teach him a lesson." Neha said thoughtfully.

"I...don't know about this." navya said. She wasn't the bold type that Anant preferred and she knew she'd be inviting a whole lot of discomfort on her part if she decided to take on this endeavor.

"navya, you can't just cry about it, yell at him a little, and then ignore him for the rest of your life. You need to get even and then you can move on." Neha surmised.

"Will you help me?" navya asked, knowing she could never pull this off on her own.

"Of course!" Neha said excitedly. "Wait!"

"What happened?" asked navya, concerned.

"Did Anant have a relationship with this woman or did he sleep with her one time?" Neha asked.

"I don't know." she answered truthfully.

"Navya, if he had a relationship with another woman, there's no forgiving him." Neha declared gravely.

navya's heart lurched. What if Anant purposely forged a relationship with another woman? She knew she could never forgive him. If it was a mistake, that's another story. Everyone made mistakes. navya hadn't bothered to ask about the details of Anant's affair. She wasn't sure she could handle knowing such details, but she'd have to ask sooner or later.

"I have the perfect plan! Make sure you ask Anant. I'm gonna go spy on Nikhil and make sure he doesn't get into any mischief. See ya, girl!" Neha let herself out. 4

navya smiled. Neha always had the answers.

Later that night, navya waited for Anant to return home. She hid in her room until she heard his bedroom door close. She quietly walked through the hallway and stood outside of Anant's door, silently debating whether or not to knock. She knocked, hoping he'd already be asleep. This was one conversation she was dreading.

"Navya?" Anant said as soon as he opened his door. He moved aside, allowing her to enter.

"Are you okay?" He wasn't sure what to say to her. He didn't expect her to show up at his door in the middle of the night.

"I'm fine." replied navya.

"Is something wrong?" Anant asked, wondering why she was in his bedroom.

"I need to ask you something." navya said.

"Okay, ask away." Anant replied, preparing himself to answer some questions that were bound to be difficult.

"Your affair, was it a one time thing or a relationship?" asked navya, looking down.

"It happened once, navya. Only once, and it was a big mistake." Anant replied calmly.

"Okay," she said. She turned to leave.

"Wait," Anant stopped her. He grabbed her wrist and held her firmly in place. thatt's all you wanted to ask?"

"Yes." she said. She tried to pull away from his grasp.

Anant pulled her roughly so that she slammed into his body. He held her close, ignoring her efforts to put some distance between them.

"Navya, I'll tell you everything, anything you want to know if it will make you forgive me." Anant pleaded. 3

"I don't want to know anything else." Navya responded. She struggled to pull away from him, but he wouldn't let her go.

"I don't believe you." Anant said.

"Fine."navya stopped struggling in anant's grip. He let his hands fall to his side. navya sat down on his bed. Anant wasn't sure what was going on. Did she intend to discuss his affair? Was she planning on staying in his bedroom tonight? Anant wasn't even thinking about any romantic possibilities that could happen in his bed if navya spent the night with him. He just wished for her to stay near him, so he could convince her to forgive him.

"When did it happen?" navya asked. Her expression was blank. Anant couldn't tell what she must've been feeling.

"When Hiten, Rajiv, and I spent the night out clubbing in the city after moving Payal in." Anant answered. He took a seat beside navya on his bed, keeping some distance between them.

"Where did you take her?" navya asked, trying to hide her emotions. She thought back to how they'd almost consummated their marriage in a dingy motel room, and felt jealous that Anant must have taken the other woman to fancy five star hotel.

anant hesistated. navya was never going to forgive him when she found out he'd been an idiot and brought Tamana to his bedroom. He contemplated whether lying to navya would make things easier or cause more problems.

"Here." Anant opted for the truth. 3

navya abruptly stood up.

"navya I'm sorry. I wasn't thinking straight. I was drunk and acting stupid." Anant said quickly.

"You brought her here? I was home that night..." navya reasoned. "You kicked me out of your bedroom that morning."

"navya, I didn't kick you out because I was planning to cheat on you! It was a mistake!" Anant defended.

"It's your room, your house. I guess that means you can do whatever you want." navya turned to leave again.

"Wait, navya." Anant grabbed her arm. He pulled her towards him. He pulled her backwards until her back was against his chest.

"I had hoped you felt welcomed enough to consider this your home too. It's our home." Anant whispered into navya's ear.

navya felt uncomfortable being so close to Anant. She was supposed to be angry at him not melting in his arms.

"If this really was our home, Anant, you wouldn't have brought another woman here." navya shrugged out of Anant's arms and stomped out of his room.

Anant watched silently as she left. He had messed it all up. Anant went to bed completely frustrated.

The next day, anant wanted to inform navya that he needed her to accompany him to a formal event, but he was afraid she'd either ignore him or refuse to go. He desperately wanted her to accompany him. He knew she'd have to act cordial with him in public, and since it was a formal event, they would have to spend the entire night dancing in each other's arms.

"navya?" Anant knocked on navya's door.

No one answered. He tried again.

"navya? Are you in here?" Anant called. He knocked again.

He walked inside the room and starting looking for navya. She wasn't in the bathroom or the closet. He sat on the bed and pulled out his phone. When she didn't answer, Anant grew angry. There's no way she left the mansion without telling Anant! Even is she was angry with him, she would've informed him if she left.

"Dammit!" Anant cursed. He could feel his and navya's relationship taking a turn for the worse all because of his infidelity. He hated that she had distanced herself from him. He used to believe that she should be more independent and stop asking for his permission for every little thing. However, he missed navya's traditional ways. Hell, he missed navya! He needed to find out where she went.

"Anant?" navya peeked through the door to the balcony. She was out there having her morning tea.

"navya, what are you doing out there?" Anant asked.

"Having breakfast." navya answered before resuming her spot on the left side of the balcony. Anant went out and took a seat beside her. He wondered what had gotten into him. Of course, navya wouldn't leave without telling him. And why had he gotten so worked up about it? He hadn't even searched through the whole house but had gotten worried nonetheless.

"Is there something you wanted?" navya asked, not really wanting to be alone with Anant.

"Yeah, I wanted to ask you something. There's an event tonight, a formal event. I need you to come with me." Anant said unsurely.

"Okay." navya said.1

"Okay?" Anant sounded surprised.

"Okay." navya repeated.3

"I thought you'd refuse." Anant said.

"Well, you can't go by yourself." navya replied.

Anant frowned, but quickly recovered his expression. Did she mean he couldn't be trusted by himself?

"I mean if your wife doesn't go with you, what would people think?" navya clarified. 1

"Right." Anant agreed. "Be ready by 8?"

"Sure." navya replied.

An awkward silence fell between the two soon after. Anant actually felt out of place in his own house. He perpetually felt like he was bothering navya, in her way, making her uncomfortable. Of course, she was too nice to tell him to leave her alone, but he could take a hint. Anant stood to leave.

"I'll see you tonight. I'll have the limo take you straight to the venue." Anant said before leaving.

"This is perfect." Neha said on the phone.

"Why?" she asked.

"Navya navya you are so naive," was all Neha said.

navya didn't know what was cooking in Neha's mind and she wasn't sure she wanted to find out. 5

"navya! Stop fidgeting! This is great." Neha eyes her handiwork. 1

"I don't know about this..." navya said as she looked at her reflection in the mirror.

Neha had spent all afternoon primping and prepping navya. She decided that Anant needed to realize just how sexy his wife is, so that maybe he'd realize that looking elsewhere was first of all totally inappropriate and second of all not necessary. Neha had done navya's hair and makeup so she practically looked like a supermodel. She had dramatic, dark, smokey eyes and a perfectly contoured face. What was sure to surprise Anant most was navya's outfit. Gone were navya's traditional sarees. Instead she donned a sexy evening gown. It was a light tan color, made of a silky material. The neckline dipped slightly and provided an alluring lift to navya's chest. The gown was completely backless and showed off navyas wonderful figure. It was more than navya had ever dared to bare in her life, and she felt uneasy about it. 7

"Are you really going to back out after I put in all this hard work?" Neha pouted.

"No...I just...This all seems like too much." she said.

"No! navya, you need to get over there and flirt with other men. Show him that you aren't afraid to put yourself out there and get some attention! The jealousy alone will keep him from ever even thinking about cheating on you again." Neha explained.

"He might get mad." navya offered. 2

"Navya! YOU are the one who needs to be mad. If he gets mad, tell him it's all his fault. He started all of this." Neha countered. "He has absolutely no right to be angry with you for wanting to show off your sexy side. I mean it's what he's wanted all along."2

"I guess you have a point." navya replied.

"I know I do." Smiled Neha.

navya arrived at the venue as instructed by Anant. She walked into the room, and instantly all eyes were on her. She didn't like the attention at all. She saw Neha talking with Nikhil in one of the corners, but she didn't see Anant anywhere.

"Well, hello." A male voice said from behind her.

"Hi." navya said quietly, still searching around the room for Anant.

"I don't believe we've met. I'm Tom." The man politely extended his hand.

"Navya." said navya before walking a little further into the room. She pretended not to notice Tom's extended hand.

"Why don't you let me get you a drink?" Tom suggested.

navya's eyes met with Neha. Neha was giving her an enthusiastic thumbs up upon noticing Tom and the attention he was giving navya. navya furtively shook her head from side to side, indicating her reluctance, but Neha would have none of that.

"I don't dr-" navya started to say. She spotted Anant walking in with Hiten. "I mean, I'll have red wine."

"Classy." Tom commented.

"Always," navya offered him an inviting smile.

Tom sauntered to the bar to get navya a drink. navya kept her eyes on Anant, who was greeting a few businessmen. He hadn't noticed her yet. Tom swiftly came back with drinks in hand.

"So, navya, what brings you here?" He asked, taking a sip of some whiskey.

"Oh you know, business ventures." navya covered. She couldn't let Tom know she was married just yet. +

"Yeah, same here. It's so boring. You know what the worse thing about coming to these functions is?" Tom asked.

"What?"navya inquired.

"Not having any pretty women to dance with...until now." Tom said.

navya paused. Dancing with another man. She remembered how well that went the first time. She simply didn't feel comfortable in another man's arms.

"No thanks..." navya said unsurely.

"Come on, darling. The party hasn't started yet, but when it does, I would be honored to be your first dance of the evening." Tom persuaded.

anant looked around the room, searching for navya. Hopefully she still intended to come. His eyes landed on her figure, her very exposed figure. She stood near the bar, clad in a sexy backless gown, talking to another man. Anant's mouth fell open as his eyes wandered over navya's bare back and scrumptious curves. He felt jealousy rise in him as he watched navya talking with another man. He stomped over to her, not sure if he was angry or aroused by navya's change in behavior. 3

"I...just don't like to dance." navya said, taking a step back.

"With anyone besides her husband, she means." Anant interjected, placing a hand on the small of her back.

"Oh...you're married." Tom looked confused.

"Happily married." Anant replied, flashing a malicious smile.

Navya felt a charge of energy pass through her as Anant's hand met with her skin.

"Nice to have met you, navya. I hope you enjoy your evening." Tom said, before walking away disappointed.

"Wow, navya you look..." Anant was at a loss for words. "Damn sexy!" He said after thinking for a moment.

navya couldn't help herself from looking down. She was supposed to be exuding sensuality and confidence, but in reality, she was shy. Anant calling her sexy would obviously make her blush. She ignored his comment, however. Neha had instructed her to limit the attention she gave Anant that night. 4

"navya," Anant tried again. navya looked up at him but said nothing. Anant realized he was getting the silent treatment and sighed. This was going to be a long night.

"Bhabhi! Damn! If Anant wasn't my best friend, I'd whisk you away right now and..." Hiten exclaimed as he and Aditi walked up.

"Hiten," Anant warned. Hiten had no filter.

"But honestly Bhabhi, you look hot!" Hiten continued.

Aditi caught on to what was going on pretty quickly. Though she was unaware that Anant had cheated on navya, she knew that navya was angry with Anant and dressed this way to gain attention from other men to prove some sort of point. Maybe she should join navya in her little game just to see how Hiten handles it.

"navya, let's go the ladies room." Aditi said, not waiting for an answer. She grabbed navya's arm and pulled her towards the bathroom. "Okay, spill." she said once they were safely inside. 1

"What?" navya asked, confused.

"Why are you dressing like that? What did Anant do?" Aditi asked.

"He...cheated on me." she admitted.

"That bas***d!" Aditi began to stomp out of the bathroom, but navya stopped her.

"Don't do anything rash. I'm handling it...I think." she said.

"Okay, navya. Let me know if you need me to do something. I'd love to help you get back at Anant." Aditi said with a grin.

navya smiled, appreciating the help. She knew she wouldn't be able to handle this evening without Neha and Aditi.

"navya," Aditi said, "Who gave you this idea?"

"Neha did." Answered navya.1

"Neha would!" Aditi laughed.

They exited the bathroom and spotted Hiten and Anant chatting with each other in the corner. Aditi saw two pretty good-looking Indian men, who looked close to their age sitting down, having drinks. They would be perfect to make Anant and Hiten jealous. Aditi motioned for navya to follow her.

"Hey!" Aditi greeted the two strangers.

"Hi!" One of them spoke up. He seemed the more outgoing of the two.

"We need your help." Aditi said bluntly.

"Of course, I'm Abhay, by the way and this is my brother Akshay." Abhay explained. He was the older of the two and quickly took a liking to Aditi.

"Well, we're trying to make her husband and my boyfriend jealous and we'd like you two to play along." Aditi replied.

Abhay's grin fell once he found out that Aditi had a boyfriend. Akshay didn't seem to care.

"Sure thing," Abhay agreed. "Why are you girls trying to make your men jealous?"

"They're being jerks," Aditi answered casually. It wasn't true. She didn't feel the need to tell strangers about navya's personal matters. And she and Hiten were going strong. She just wanted to have a little fun and see how he'd react.

"What do we have to do?" Abhay asked. Akshay still hadn't said a word.

"Get us drinks, laugh with us, maybe a dance?" Aditi suggested.

"You got it." Abhay winked before going towards the bar to fetch Aditi and navya drinks.

"Hi! You're Akshay, right? I'm Aditi and this is my friend navya." Aditi said to Akshay once Abhay left.

"Hello." He said. His eyes were locked on navya. navya smiled back at him.

"navya sit down." Aditi said quickly.

"What?" navya asked,

"Sit down. Anant is watching." Aditi said.

"Is Anant your husband?" Akshay asked.

"Yeah, we're...not on the friendliest terms right now." navya replied as she took a seat beside Akshay.

"I can't imagine someone fighting with a woman as beautiful as you." Akshay smirked.

she blushed. Akshay seemed like a ladies man, but much shier than Anant. He was quite handsome, but not as handsome as Anant. She wondered if Akshay or Abhay were married or had girlfriends. If so, she would feel guilty about getting them involved in her and Anant's argument. Abhay returned with drinks, and Aditi and navya gratefully took them. navya set hers aside, noticing that it was alcoholic, but Aditi finished hers in a matter of minutes.

"Whoa! High tolerance!" Abhay commented as Aditi finished her drink. The couples began to laugh at whatever made them laugh. They ended up actually having a good time even though the whole setup was fake.

"Where did the girls go?" Hiten asked. Anant's eyes were fixed on the table that navya and Aditi were seated at with Abhay and Akshay.

"What the hell?" Hiten said as he saw the same table Anant was looking at.

"They've been over there for awhile, laughing away like we're not even here." Anant said sadly.

"Aditi..." Hiten pouted. "Do you think she likes that guy?"8

Anant looked at Hiten incredulously. Even he knew Aditi wouldn't leave Hiten for someone she met five minutes ago, and here he was already depressed.

"Hiten! Why don't you go over there and get her back before she actually does fall for that jerk!" Anant said to his best friend.

"Maybe she's trying to tell me something..." Hiten was in denial. "Maybe she wants to break up."

Hiten looked like he was about to cry any moment now. He genuinely looked sad. Anant couldn't bare to see his best friend this way, especially if it was because of a woman.

He looked at navya, laughing with some other man. He felt the jealousy rise in him. He felt like punching the guy who was talking to navya. His presence so close to his wife bothered him. Anant had no problem admitting that he was possessive of navya. Her talking to another man was enough to set him on edge. The fact that she was clad in nothing but that backless, sexy evening gown did nothing to help the situation either. He walked over to the table. He wouldn't even look in navya's direction. 2

"Aditi, Hiten wants to talk to you." Anant said, deciding that his friend's turmoil was more important that his own jealousy.

"If he wants me, he can come over here and talk to me." Aditi said, turning back to Abhay.

"He thinks you want to break up with him and is giving you space. If that's what you want, then fine. Go tell him, so he can go find himself another woman to spend the evening with. If that's not what you want, go tell him otherwise his heart will break for no reason. Either way, go tell him something." Anant said. He knew that Aditi had no intention of breaking up with Hiten. This was a game, a game that navya was playing to make him jealous. It was working. He was jealous. She was totally making her point, but it didn't have to mean that Hiten got hurt in the process.

Aditi looked a little confused for a moment. Abhay watched her carefully, secretly in turmoil himself. He wanted Aditi to choose him, but he would feel guilty if he was the cause of the failure of her and Hiten's relationship. 1

"Maybe you should go talk to your boyfriend." Abhay offered.

Anant immediately looked relieved. If Aditi had chosen to stay at the table, Hiten would've been crushed, and Anant wouldn't have known what to do. Aditi stood up, apologized to Abhay and made her way towards Hiten. Anant watched them. Hiten's face lit up as soon as Aditi came into his view. After talking for a moment, they shared a passionate but brief kiss. Anant smiled. Hiten was a goner for sure.

navya grew nervous without Aditi's presence to guide her. Anant stood there, watching Hiten and Aditi, his back towards navya. She wasn't sure whether doing this was going too far or how Anant would react once he was done focusing on Hiten and Aditi.

"Navya would you like to dance?" Akshay asked. By then, many couples had started dancing. Akshay knew that this was his only chance to ask navya to dance. she hesitated. Should she? How would Anant react? She looked at Anant, who still had his attention turned towards Hiten and Aditi.

"Of course, I would." navya said, taking Akshay's hand.

Anant's jaw clenched. He stalked away without giving navya a single look. He knew what he did was wrong, and navya deserved to get her revenge, but this was killing him. He walked over to where Hiten and Aditi were located and started watching navya and Akshay as they began to dance. The occasion was formal, so the dancing was formal as well. Only couples were on the dance floor, and the music was a tad too slow and romantic. Akshay's hands wrapped around navya's waist, while hers sat on his shoulders as they swayed their bodies to the music. Anant watched in pure rage as one of Akshay's hands began to caress navya's exposed back.

"I think your husband might kill me by the time the night ends." Akshay commented as he watched Anant's reaction out of the corner of his eye.

"He'll be fine." navya said nonchalantly. She felt more and more uncomfortable as she felt Akshay's hand explore her back. She began to regret wearing such a provocative gown.

"I know it's none of my business, but why are you two fighting?" Akshay asked. His eyes traveled down navya's body. "Because I can't find a single reason why anyone would ever be mad at you."

"He...well...I wouldn't..." navya did not know if it was appropriate to divulge intimate secrets about her life to a stranger. "He broke my trust."

"Never a bright thing to do." Akshay commented.

"Are you married?" navya asked, trying to keep up a conversation.

"navya, if I were married, I would never have you in my arms. My wife would kill me." Akshay replied with a smile.

navya thought back to what Anant had done. Here Akshay was saying that he'd feel guilty being a married man and simply dancing with another woman, and there Anant was sleeping with other women with no sense of remorse. navya moved her body closer to Akshay's. She had her eyes on anant, who was seething in anger. navya looked down unsurely. Anant had never looked this angry before. He was clutching the glass in his hand so tightly, it was sure to break any second now. navya jerked as she felt Akshay's back moving further down her back. She looked at him questioningly, but he simply smiled back at her. She dared to look back at Anant, who now had a hurt expression on his face.

"I'm sorry." navya said as she pried away from Akshay and walked towards the bar, where Anant was standing. She cautiously approached Anant, unsure why she felt the need to come back to him. Anant said nothing to her. He simply looked at her, a mix of anger and hurt apparent on his face. 2

"Anant, I..."navya began.

"Will you dance with me?" Anant asked her before she could finish.

"Sure," she said, relieved he wasn't mad at her. He grabbed her hand and led her back to the dance floor. She saw Akshay had taken a seat beside his brother. He watched closely as Anant and navya started to dance.

Anant placed his arms around navya's waist, revelling in the fact that he would have an opportunity to caress her back. navya's arms were securely around his neck. Her eyes were glued to the ground.

"Why are you suddenly so uncomfortable?"he asked.

"I'm not." she denied.

"You seemed pretty happy dancing with another man, and you seem like you're miserable with me." Anant said with spite.

"Anant, I'm never miserable with you." she said, looking up at him.

Anant said nothing. her's answer did little to calm him down. Anger still boiled inside of him. Images of Akshay's hands on navya crept into his mind.

"You know what kind of attention you're attracting by dressing like this, right?" Anant said angrily.

"But this is how you've always wanted me to dress. You like bold women." navya contested.

"And what opinion do you have of bold women, navya?" Anant asked.

navya hesitated. She thought ill of bold women, who used their bodies to attract men's attention. And she was doing just that. 2

"Every man here is thinking about taking you to their bedrooms and having their way with you tonight. I hope you know." Anant said a tad too maliciously.

"anant," navya said.

Anant spun her around before she could say anything further. The music go a little faster, and many of the couples broke out into a waltz type dance. Anant moved navya around the dance floor. His expression was blank. He wasn't enjoying himself but he was determined not to create a scene. The music slowed back down and everyone started to slow dance once again.

Anant started to caress navya's back as they danced. He ran his fingers down gently. she shivered. Anant ran his hand over her lower waist. He slipped his fingertips under the fabric of her gown and caressed her lower back even more. He brought his hand up and placed it on the middle of her back. He pulled her forward so that her body was against his. His hand moved over to the side, his arm extended over her back almost like he was hugging her. His fingers slipped under the fabric on the side of her dress, as he tried to caress the skin near her breasts. navya pulled away from him. She tried to walk off the dance floor, but Anant held her hand and pulled her back towards him resuming their dance.

"Anant," navya said. Her eyes wandered around the room, noticing all of the men hungrily watching them as she and Anant danced. "Can I have your jacket?" She said quietly.

"Why, navya? Regretting your outfit choice already?" Anant asked with a spiteful tone.

"Please, Anant." navyas voice quivered as she spoke. She looked like she wanted to cry.

Anant sighed. He led navya off the dance floor, over to the side. He took off his jacket and put it around her. she graciously took it and secured it around her. She immediately stalked off into the hallways.

"navya," Anant went after her. He grabbed her arm once they were in the hallway. "What's the matter?"

"It's all my fault," she started tearing up. 2

"What is?"he asked, gently.

"Your affair." she answered.

Anant stared at her. She was blaming herself for his mistake. He didn't understand.

"You're absolutely right! It was all your fault. If you'd decided a little earlier that you were willing to sleep with me, you could've saved us both a lot of grief. Dammit, navya, you're the worst wife ever!" Anant said angrily. 25

Navya started crying harder. She knew she deserved this. Everything anant said was true. She turned away, feeling self conscious about crying so hard in front of Anant. 3

"Navya," Anant said more gently, "I'm not an ass. That isn't what I believe at all. First of all none of this is your fault. I brought another woman home. I slept with her. I made a mistake. It's all my fault. Second of all, I shouldn't have pushed you so hard into sleeping with me. You needed time. I should've understood. Third, you're a great wife, and I'm lucky to have you." Anant smiled.2

navya turned around the face Anant. If this is how he felt, then why had he exploded at her? Anant took a step closer to her.

"You shouldn't blame yourself for this." He wiped away some of her's tears. "I didn't mean to get angry. I just wanted to show you how foolish it all sounded."

"But I caused this to happen." she said.

"No, , don't you ever believe that this is your fault. I'm the only one at fault here." Anant pulled her into an embrace. she tried to resist, but all she wanted at that moment was to feel better and being in his's arms definitely made her feel better.

"We should head home." he said after a moment.

she nodded in agreement. The limo ride was long and silent. he didn't know how to break the silence, and she was reluctant to do so. As a result, they were forced to remain in silence for the duration of the ride. Once in the mansion, she scurried up the stairs with Anant close behind her. He grabbed her hand before she could turn and go in the opposite direction where her bedroom was. she stopped and gave Anant a curious look.

"My jacket,"he said, referring to the jacket of his tux that was still wrapped around navya.

She unwrapped the jacket and handed it back to Anant. She turned to go in the direction of her room only to be stopped by Anant once again. She looked back at him expectantly, but this time he didn't say anything. He merely looked at her.

"Anant," she prompted.

"You look great in that dress." Anant said in a deep voice.

she blushed and tried to pull out of his's grip, but he just wouldn't let her go. He moved closer to her.

"navya you have no idea what you're doing to me right now." He was close enough to whisper into her ear. 5

she told herself that she was angry with Anant and that she needed to stay mad at him, but he was making it so difficult.

"Don't." She tried to back away from him, but her legs refused to budge.

"You look absolutely delicious," Anant whispered, "and I'd love to have a taste of you."

"Anant," navya didn't want this, or did she?

Anant's lips were on hers before she could get another word out. He backed her up against the wall and slipped his arm around her waist, holding her close. His fingers caressed her lower back. navya, overwhelmed with passion, kissed back even though she knew better. Anant place his othervya hand at the nape of her neck, sheepishly undoing the fastening that held navya's dress up. She felt the fabric slipping and quickly pulled away from Anant She rushed into her room before having a total wardrobe malfunction in front of Anant. navya went to her closet with the intention of quickly changing into something more reliable, but Anant had followed her into her bedroom. +

"Anant, please. Leave." navya said upon seeing him enter.

"You want this as much as I do. Admit it, ." Anant stepped closer.

navya backed away, her hand firmly placed over her chest, keeping her gown from slipping.

"I...don't."she said.

"You can't stay mad at me forever." anant said sternly. He paused for a moment. His expression softened. "Please don't stay mad at me forever." He said pleadingly.

Anant walked up to navya and kissed her again. His hands innocently rested on her waist. navya pushed against his chest, trying to make him stop, but she put little effort into her resistance. The feeling of his lips against hers was too much to bear. Anant turned her around and kissed sensually down her back. It's something he's been wanting to do all night. His lips lingered on her back before meeting her lips again. Just then, Anant's phone rang. Anant abruptly broke the kiss and pulled out his phone, irritated by the disruption. He took a look at the caller id and stepped away from navya

"I have to take this." He murmured before leaving her room.

"What the hell do you want?" He said harshly once he reached his own bedroom.

"Anant! I need you tonight. Come to my house." Tamanna slurred.

"Are you drunk?" Anant asked.

"So drunk! Come to me. I need you." Tamanna said.

"Shut the hell up and don't call me. I'm not coming anywhere near you." Anant screamed angrily into the phone.

"But..." Tamanna started. Anant hung up on her before she could say anymore.

He went back to hrt's room. She was ruffling through her closet.

"Navya," he said. She turned around quickly with a surprised expression on her face as if he had just caught her committing a crime.

"anant, please. Just go away." she said. She knew she wouldn't be able to control herself around him. She didn't want to slip up and do something that would lead Anant to believe she'd actually forgiven him.

"Will you please just give me a chance?" Anant asked. "You wore that for me, didn't you? Obviously you wanted my attention. Now, I'm giving it to you, and you're resisting."

"I didn't want your attention." Said navya spitefully.

"Well, you didn't dress like this for other men, did you?" Anant asked in disbelief.

she stayed silent.

"Why the hell would you do that?" Anant said. He was trying to control his anger.

navya said nothing once again.

"To get back at me? Was this your idea of getting revenge? Fine. Do whatever the hell you want!" Anant said before stalking out of navya's room.

He was angry. she couldn't believe it. She'd only dressed provocatively and danced with one other man. What he had done was far worse, yet he was the one who was angry. he angrily paced in his room. What was she thinking? He shouldn't be mad at her though. She deserved to get revenge if that's what she wanted. Hell, she deserved to demand a divorce if that's what she wanted! Tamanna's call had added to his anger, and he took it all out on navya.

she changed into something more comfortable. She sat on the bed, thinking about how angry Anant was. She felt miserable. Maybe getting revenge wasn't the right way to go. She heard something ringing. She looked around and saw Anant's phone sitting at the edge of her bed. He must've left it when he stomped out in anger. navya decided to answer it, thinking it might be Hiten going through one his crises.

"Hello?" she said.

"Anant! Please! Don't you remember that beautiful night we spent together? Meet me at my place, and I promise tonight will be even better." Tamanna's voice blared through the phone. 1

Tears stung navyas eyes. This was the woman Anant had cheated on her with. He was still speaking to her, but he'd told her it was a one time thing. navya stood up and stomped over to anant's room. She barged in without even bothering to knock. Anant looked at her in surprise. She threw his phone roughly at the wall.

"navya." Anant said unsurely. She looked mad as hell.

"You liar! You said it was only once. You said it was a mistake." she shouted.

"It was only once. What's the matter?" Anant was confused.

"SHE called!" navya yelled. Tears were streaming down her face. She was angry but sad at the same time.

"Navya please calm down. I told her never to call me again. Whatever I had with her was over and done with that same night." anant explained. 2

navya tried to contain her tears, but the night had been too much for her.

"You've been crying all night. I'm really sorry...for everything." Anant walked closer to her with the intention of taking her in his arms. He stood close to her, unsure whether it was appropriate or not to comfort her.

"Get away from me." She nsaid quietly.

"navya, please." anant said. He turned her so that she was facing him. navya refused to look at him. He cupped her cheek with his hand and gently wiped away a tear with his thumb. "I'm so sorry."

navya pulled away from him and walked back to her room without saying another word. Anant sighed as he watched her leave. He looked at where his phone had fallen after navya threw it. He picked it up and dialed Tamanna's number with the intention of giving her a piece of his mind.

"Hello?" Tamanna's voice said through the phone.

"Tamanna, I never ever want to see you again. So help me God if you ever so much as think of calling me again. What happened that night was the biggest mistake of my life." Anant said menacingly.

"Anant, you're wrong. You enjoyed it even more than I did. We had sex for God's sake! And it was so much fun!" Tamanna exclaimed. 1

Anant was about to reply but he heard another voice...a male voice.

"What the hell did you just say?" The voice screamed. "Who did you have sex with?"

"N-no one. I just...I..." Tamanna stammered.

Anant knew it wasn't appropriate to listen in on others' conversations but he couldn't put the phone down. It sounded like her husband had walked in on their conversation.

"Don't lie to me!" The male voice shouted.

"I'm not. We didn't have sex, I promise." Tamanna said.

"But you said..." Her husband countered.

"He thinks we did." Tamanna answered.

"Why the hell would he think that? Who is he?" Her husband sounded calmer, but still angry.

"No one...he...we hooked up one night." Tamanna admitted slowly.

"Hooked up? What, are you in college? What the hell happened?" Her husband's voice rose in volume.

"Just fooled around when drunk. He was too drunk. I told we'd had sex, so you could blackmail him later. He's a rich businessman." Tamanna said.

"What?" Anant said without thinking.

"What were you thinking?" Her husband's voice was barely audible. "What if he comes around and blackmails me for having a s**t for a wife? You should think before you act!"

Anant heard a loud smacking sound, followed by Tamanna shrieking. Her husband...just hit her. Anant abruptly stood up, shocked at what had just happened.

"Tamanna, can you hear me?" He said into the phone. No answer. The line went dead.

"Dammit!" Anant cursed. He wondered if what she said was true or whether she was just trying to calm her down. He knew, as much as he hated it, he needed to meet Tamanna.

"What happened last night? You two left early." Neha asked navya the next day.

"I couldn't do it." navya admitted.

"What?" Neha asked.

"Get revenge. Be sexy. I couldn't do it." navya replied with a sulk.

"navya, you're sexy. Don't worry. Anant will see one day." Neha said.

"It's not even about being bold or sexy. It's about being a good wife." navy replied.

"But you are a good wife. Compared to that good for nothing cheater, you're an angel!" Neha said, giggling.

"Neha...she called last night." navya said, looking down.

"Who called?" Neha asked inquisitively.

"The woman that Anant...you know." she replied.

"What the hell? The nerve! How do you know?" Neha exclaimed.

"I answered the phone." navya said.

"That bitch!" Neha spat angrily.

"Anant said it was only once and it meant nothing...but they're still talking." navya said more to herself than to Neha.

"You think so?" navya asked, hopefully.

"Yeah, I do." Neha reassured.

Anant left early that morning, feeling compelled to go check up on Tamanna. He was sure her husband had hit her last night. He also needed to find out whether or not all that stuff about them not sleeping together was true or not. He didn't know where Tamanna lived, but he needed to find out. A part of him worried that showing up at her house would cause more problems. What if her husband was home. He called Tamanna.

"Hello?" Tamanna's voice sounded weary.

"I need to see you." Anant said seriously.

"Now? Why now?" Tamanna asked.

"Are you at home?" he asked, ignoring her question.

"Yeah, I am." She replied.

"Is your husband home?" Anant asked slowly.

"No," Tamanna said. She gave Anant her address and rushed to make herself look more presentable.

"Hey," Anant greeted curtly, when Tamanna answered the door. She stepped aside to let him in and watched him as he made his way to the couch.

"Hey yourself." Tamanna replied with a seductive smile.

"What happened last night? Are you okay?" Anant asked, getting down to business.

"Of course! Why wouldn't I be?" Asked Tamanna.

"Your husband...hit you. I heard him do it." Anant said.

Tamanna's face drained of color.

"No he didn't. You're mistaken." she covered up.

"I know what I heard." Anant stood up and walked over to Tamanna. He grabbed her and forced her forward. Her eyes closed and her lips puckered slightly, expecting Anant to kiss her.

Anant brushed his thumb over her left cheek. Tamannah shivered at his touch. She opened her eyes to see why Anant was taking so long to kiss her.1

"I can see it. He hit you." Anant sounded angry.

"It's fine. I'll live." Tamannah shrugged.

"Tamanna, no one has the right to hit you." Anant tried to convince her.

"It doesn't matter, Anant Please, let's just go upstairs. I'll show the best time you've ever had." Tamannah quickly changed the subject.

"We're not doing anything. I can't betray my wife again." Anant said sternly.

"But I need you." Tamanna pouted.

"That stuff you said...was it true?" Anant asked

"What stuff?" Asked Tamanna.

"You told your husband that we didn't have sex. We fooled around but that's it." Anant said.

"I...no we had sex. Don't you remember?" Tamanna replied nervously.

"I don't, actually." Anant said. It was true! He had no memory of ever doing anything with Tamanna. He remembered the making out and he remembers the fondling and foreplay, but not the actual sex. Did it even happen?

"Anant, it was amazing. We were wild!" Tamanna said.

"Tell me what happened." Anant demanded.

Tamanna started explaining the details of the night they had spent together. Some of the details didn't make sense. She said they'd done things that Anant knew he'd never do in the bedroom. If they had a wild night, he would remember at least part of it. Everything up until they arrived at Anant's mansion was clear in his memory. He remembered kissing her and stripping her dress off but not much after that.

"We didn't have sex, did we?" Anant asked.

"Of course we did! I can't believe you don't remember." Tamanna said dramatically.

"I never let the woman be on top. I always like to be in control." Anant said, challenging some of the details she divulged.

Tamanna gasped. She looked guilty.

"I like to be in control too." Tamannah countered.

"I passed out that night. That's why I don't remember anything. I don't remember having sex because it never happened." It all made sense to Anant now.

"No! We did!" Tamanna shouted.

"Prove it." he challenged.

"How?" Tamanna asked.

"There's a birthmark I have that you can't see right now. Where is it?" Anant asked.

"Uhh...umm I don't remember." Tamanna said.

"You can't miss it. It's huge." Anant replied calmly.

"Oh your thigh! I remember." Tamanna said after a long pause.

"No," Anant said.

Tamanna made a few more guesses, even guessing some intimate places but she didn't get it right.

"It's because we did it in the dark, under the covers. I never saw you naked." Tamanna tried to make up an excuse.

"Please, with a woman like you, I'd bare it all." Anant said. "I like to show off." He continued with a smirk. His mind automatically wandered to navya and how if they ever consummate their marriage, Anant's preferences in the bedroom would have to take a back burner since navya is so shy. He tried to focus on the current situation, instead of navya, but it he was finding it increasingly difficult.

"Anant," Tamanna had no words.

"There is no birthmark. Why the hell did you let me believe we'd had sex?" Anant yelled. "To trap me?"

"No! I didn't know you were rich til you brought me to your mansion. I just wanted to have a fun night. You were too drunk to go all the way, so I left after you passed out. I've been dying to get you in my bed though." Tamanna said quickly. She looked extremely guilty. Anant was fuming with anger.

"I told my wife I had sex with another woman dammit! She hates me! And all I actually did was kiss you and unzip your damn dress! Shit! This is so messed up!" Anant exploded.

"I'm sorry, I just wanted some fun and a little affection. I thought I could get that from you." Tamanna said. 1

"Great! Thanks for ruining my marriage." Anant said before stomping out of Tamanna's house and out to his car.

He hadn't slept with another woman. He technically did cheat on navya, but not nearly to the extent that she believes and he was led to believe. Anant was angry but ecstatic at the same time. He was angry at Tamanna for lying to him and at himself for allowing things to get out of hand with her, but he was glad that he didn't sleep with another woman, meaning navya would actually forgive him. He was certain that she wouldn't want to punish him as severely now. He had to tell her!

"Navya!" Anant hollered through the hallway once he reached his mansion. "Where are you?"

she opened her bedroom door and peeked her head out. navya saw her and just wanted to grab her a give her a kiss.

"I need to tell you something. You're going to be...relieved." Anant said, careful not to say she's be happy. No woman would be happy to hear that her husband kissed another woman.

"I went to see Tamanna, the woman I met that night." Anant said. "Remember you answered her phone call last night."

"You went to see her?" she asked. A hurt expression appeared on her face.

"Yeah, but it's not what you think. Her husband found out about...that night, and flipped a shit. He hit her, so I had to make sure she was okay. navya, please don't mad. I had to." Anant said. He paused to assess her reaction. When she didn't get angry, he continued.

"She told him that we didn't have sex. I thought it was just to save her ass, but it's true. I didn't have sex with her. I passed out before anything like that happened. navya, I kissed her and I took her dress off, but I did not sleep with her." Anant explained.

"How are you so sure?" she asked, actually curious.

"She couldn't describe how I am in the bedroom." Anant smiled.

she looked down. She knew she couldn't describe how Anant was in the bedroom either.

"Okay," she said, turning to go back into her bedroom.

Anant grabbed her hand and pulled her toward him. He placed both hands on her shoulders and looked into her eyes.

"I know I still cheated on you. I still made a mistake, but it's less severe than you originally thought. Nothing happened. You have to believe me. Please, navya" he said.

she paused for a second, thinking about what Anant had just said.

"I don't believe you." She said, turning to go back into her bedroom. 16

Anant's brows furrowed in confusion. He wasn't expecting navya to refuse to believe him.

"Why don't you believe me?" He asked. she stopped and turned back towards him.

"Because I don't. You could just be saying all this because you want me to forgive you so badly." she countered. Truthfully, she no longer trusted him enough to go by his word.

"That's not fair. I wouldn't lie to you again. I saw how well that went the first time." he replied.

"Anant, I don't trust you anymore. You can't gain my trust back just by changing your story." she explained.

"I'm not changing my story, . I thought I did sleep with her, honestly. It's not true though." Anant said.

"I still don't believe you." she repeated.

"What if I hadn't told you about the affair when I did? If I kept it a secret all this time and let that night at the motel just happen, would you have ever forgiven me?" Anant asked seriously.

she paused. That night...Anant had refused her because he felt guilty about cheating on her.

"You.." she was speechless.

"You wouldn't have. And I wouldn't have expected you too." Anant cut her off. "And what if I'd never told you I'd had sex with her? If I'd said I'd only kissed her, you wouldn't be this angry. You wouldn't have done what you did last night while trying to get revenge. You would have forgiven me by now."

What Anant said made sense. The fact that he wouldn't allow their relationship to reach the next level without being completely honest with her melted navya's heart. Kissing another woman was still cheating, but did she have the right to be this angry? They weren't even in love with each other. If she wasn't in love with Anant, why did she feel so hurt by his infidelity? 3

", say something." Anant said, breaking her's thoughts.

"I...I don't know what to say." she said.

"Do you believe me?" he asked again.

"I don't know." she admitted.

"Do you at least believe that I'm not a bad person, that I made a mistake? And I'm truly sorry." he said, pleadingly.

"Anant, I never believed you were a bad person." she said quietly.

"navya," he moved closer to her, "how do I fix this?"

she looked at him. Was she taking things too far? Should she just forgive Anant and forget about the whole thing? After all, it was just kissing.

"I...I just...I need to think." she said. She honestly didn't know how she felt about the whole situation. Did she believe that he'd only kissed the other woman? Why had he brought her back here then? Is she still angry?

"Fair enough." Anant relented. He turned to leave.

"Anant," she stopped him

"Yeah?" he turned back around to face her.

"If I'd kissed another man, what would have done?" she asked.

he paused to think. He walked closer to her and slipped his arm around her waist.

"I'd be mad. I'd yell at you." he replied, pulling her closer. "And then I'd go break him in half."+

she blushed at Anant's possessiveness.

"But I'd forgive you." Anant added. 11

she felt guilty. He'd just admitted that he would forgive her if she kissed another man, yet she didn't feel that she was ready to forgive him.

"No pressure, but I do hope you'll do the same someday." he said. He kissed her on the cheek before he walked back to his room.

Anant woke up the next day feeling miserable. All he wanted to do was talk to navya. Living in the same house as her without being able to have a civil conversation with her was hell. He didn't understand why felt the constant need to be around her, but he did. At breakfast, she barely looked in his direction. He tried to make small talk in an effort to launch a conversation, but she hardly gave him any attention. He wondered if all that thinking she had done last night worked against him. Everything he'd told her was true. If she'd made the same mistake he did, he would've forgiven her eventually. 3

she couldn't sleep last night. She kept thinking about whether or not Anant deserved her forgiveness. It was noble of him to stop them from consummating their marriage under false pretenses, but he still hurt her. She did realize while in deep thought that she loved Anant. She had finally learned to love him. And she loved him even before he confessed about his affair. That night in the motel was going to be her way to telling him that she loved him and trusted him. She knew she couldn't tell him now, however. He didn't love her. If he did, he wouldn't have felt the need to cheat on her. She looked over at Anant over the breakfast table. He was trying so hard to have a conversation, but she just wasn't into it.

"navya" Anant said, breaking her train of thought.

"What?" navya asked. She had no idea about what he had been saying.

"Nothing," Anant said, disappointed.

He stood to leave for work. he watched as he left.

"What the hell do I do?" Anant said in frustration.

"Damn! This is worse than one of those sappy afternoon soap operas!" Hiten exclaimed. "So you didn't have sex with that other woman?"

"No, I didn't. It never happened." Anant confirmed.

"All this drama and you didn't even get any." Hiten said. 3

"Hiten! Seriously," Anant replied.

"Well, it was just some kissing." Hiten said. He wondered how Aditi would react if he kissed another woman. He shuddered at the thought.

"She has a right to be angry." Anant said.

"Yeah, but how angry? You don't even love each other." Hiten pointed out.

"But I'm her husband. The least I can do is stay faithful, right?" Anant said.

"Yeah it's the least you could've done, I guess. I mean, was a little kissing worth all of this?" Hiten asked seriously.

"Not at all. I wish none of it ever happened. she is more important to me than having sex or anything like that."he said. He paused. Did he just say that? Sex was never everything to him. He wasn't dependent upon it, but he knew he needed navya.

He looked over at Hiten, who had a very smug look on his face.

"What are you looking at?" Anant asked.

"You like her!" Hiten accused with a goofy grin

"What do you mean?" Anant asked.

"You're falling for Bhabhi!" Hiten clarified.

"No, I don't think I am." Anant said defensively.

"You like her! You lii-i-i-ii-ke her." Hiten said in a singsong voice. 3

"Shut up! She's my wife. I care about her." Anant said.

"No! You care about her and you like her!" Hiten countered. "Otherwise you wouldn't be begging her everyday to forgive you."

"I don't like when she's upset with me. I mean I'm a people pleaser." Anant smiled.

"Uh huh sure you are." Hiten said, not agreeing with him.

"So maybe I do like her, so what? We're married. If we like each other, then it's great, right?" Anant said.

"Does she like you as much as you like her?" Hiten asked.

he thought about it. If navya did have feelings for him, she wasn't showing them right now. Right now, she was angry with him. That night in the motel room though...maybe there were some feelings there.

"I don't know." he said truthfully.

"Maybe you should find out." Hiten suggested.

"You just have all the answers, don't you?" Anant asked.

"Hell yeah! You know it!" Hiten replied happily.

"There's no point in asking her how she feels about me now. She's angry with me. She'll probably say she hates me. I don't know if I can handle that." Anant confessed.

"Aww you're so cute." Hiten pinched Anant's cheek. 5

"Get the hell away from me, you freak!" anant pushed Hiten's hand away, trying to stifle a laugh. 1

"Seriously though, ask her. The worse that could happen is she hates you. If she hates you, you win her back. If she doesn't, your job just got a hell of a lot easier." Hiten said. He always made sense.

She stared blankly at her bed. How did these get here?

"Kamla," she called for the head maid.

"Yes ma'am," Kamla came scurrying up the stairs.

"Were these here when you cleaned this room this morning?" she asked.

"No ma'am. They weren't here when I left. How could they have gotten here?" Kamla replied.

"When did you clean?" she asked.

"This morning, while you and sir were having breakfast." Kamla answered promptly.

"Anant must have sneaked up here after breakfast then." She said to herself.

"Ma'am?" Kamla didn't hear what she had said.

"Nothing, you can go." she dismissed her.

She picked up the elegant bouquet of red and white roses that sat on her bed. The card said two words: I'm sorry.' navya took them to the window and placed the flowers on the window sill. She stood there for a moment, staring out the window. She wished Anant's gesture was one of sincere affection rather than an apology. She had to admit Anant knew how to be romantic when he wanted to be. If only he'd be romantic because he loved her...

She walked downstairs, wanting to be around other people. She watched as the maid cleaned around the house and the chefs prepared meals for the day.

"Kamla," she said.

"Yes ma'am." Kamla came and promptly stood before navya.

"What did you do before you worked here?" she asked, genuinely curious.

"Ma'am? I do not understand." Kamla was confused. No one had ever wanted to talk to her about her life before.

"Your past. What was your past like?" she asked again.

"Well, I lived in India before working here. I was married...very young." Kamla explained.

"You came here after you got married?" she asked.

"Oh no no. I husband was an architect in India. We lived in a small village, and he would commute into the city to work. He was my best friend." Kamla said, reminiscing.1

"What happened to him?" she asked

"He died in an accident at a construction site." Kamla said sadly.

"Oh! I'm so sorry," she replied.

"We never had the chance to have children. We'd only been married for a few years when it happened. I was still young." Kamla said. She seemed like she was reliving the good memories she had with her husband. She kept narrating parts of her life with him forgetting that navya was even there. 1

"What did you do after he died?" asked navya curiously.

"I started working as a maid, of course. I worked for Sir's father for years. I practically raised sir." Kamla said.

"Really?" she asked. She had no idea that Kamla had known Anant for so long.

"Yes, when he came home from boarding school, I always took care of him. He wouldn't allow anyone else to come near him. He was always a troublemaker." Kamla said with a smile.

"Why did you never marry again?" she replied.

"I spent so much time working, I never really got that chance. Then I got too old." Kamla replied.

"So you came here with Anant when he moved?" she asked.

"He wouldn't let me refuse." Kamla grinned. "I didn't want to leave India, but he wouldn't leave without me."

"That's so sweet." she commented.

"He's a very sweet person. We were very poor and lived in a bad area. He brought all of my younger sisters to London and provided them with jobs. He wanted to do the same with me, but I think he needed me here, so I refused and continued being his maid." Kamla explained.

"You gave up such a wonderful opportunity just to stay with Anant?" she asked in disbelief.

"Wouldn't you?" Kamla answered.

she knew in her heart the answer was yes. She'd do anything to stay with Anant.

At work, Anant couldn't focus on much. He and Hiten were working on a groundbreaking business proposal, but Anant was of little help. He went through the day in a haze. He couldn't stand that navya was still angry with him and that she no longer trusted him. He needed to get out of the office, but he didn't want to go home to navya when she disliked him so much. He decided that the best thing for him to do right now was to take a drive, a nice and relaxing drive outside of New York city. 1

He sat in his car and trudged through the New York City traffic until he had driven away from Manhattan Island. He wasn't about to drive all the way to upstate New York even though he'd love to be on the open road right now. He continued to drive, letting his thought travel to navya. How much longer would she be angry with him? Did she like the flowers? He wished she would've called him and thanked him for the roses or even rebuke him for the futile apology.

Suddenly, a the car from the adjacent lane swerved into Anant's lane and crashed into his car. Anant's car slid over the road and crashed into an oncoming truck, which caused his car to flip over before careening onto the side of the highway. 20

One, Navya LOVES Anant!!! Two, Anant just got into a car crash! OMG! What's gonna happen next? Btw, Anant is NOT about to lose his memory. That's too cliche even for me. And Anant and Hiten are too funny even in serious situations, don't you think?5

"May I speak with Mrs. bajpai, please?" A female voice asked once navya answered the phone.

"This is she." she answered.

"Ma'am your husband was in a car accident this afternoon. I'm Nurse Jones. Could you come down to the hospital?" The nurse said.

"What?" she couldn't comprehend the words.

"You husband, anant bajpai, was in an accident." The nurse repeated.

"Is he alright?" navya felt tears forming in her eyes.

"He's in critical condition." The nurse answered. "It would really be best if you came down."

"Okay," she said quietly before hanging up.

she suddenly paled as she tried to steady herself. Anant was hurt. He was in the hospital in critical condition. She tightly clutched the countertop, trying to regain her composure. Her hand hit a nearby vase, and it came crashing to the floor breaking into many tiny pieces.

"Ma'am, are you alright?" Kamla said, urgently coming to navya's side. She led navya to a chair and sat her down.

"I-I'm fine. I need to go to the hospital." she stammered.

"The hospital? Why?" Kamla asked, concerned.

"Anant...he was in a car accident. I need to go."she said.

"I'll call for the driver straight away." Kamla hurried away.

Once at the hospital, navya requested to speak with Nurse Jones, who immediately took her to Anant's room. navya entered slowly, afraid of what she'd see. Anant's body laid limp on a hospital bed. He was attached to several different machines, monitoring different parts of his body. she stepped closer. There were several scratches and bruises all over him. His arm was in a cast, and one of his legs was wrapped in bandages. He's looked so weak.

"Please, be okay." she heard herself whisper to no one in particular. She and Anant were the only ones in the room, and Anant was unconscious.

"Please," she said again as she stepped closer. She bit her lip as she tried to control her tears from falling. She sat down beside Anant's mangled form. She placed a hand on his cheek. She heard a low grunt come from Anant and quickly retracted her hand. He moved a little but didn't open his eyes.

"Bhabhi," Hiten stood in the doorway, looking like he was holding back tears himself.

"Will he be okay?" she asked him.

"The doctors won't say." Hiten answered sadly. "They said I'm not family."

she looked at Hiten, whose eyes were glued to the floor.

"You should've told them that you were his brother. You know Anant thinks of you as one." she said, letting some tears fall.

Hiten looked up at her with a goofy grin that still showed traces of sadness. It was the nicest thing anyone has ever said to him. Navya stood to go find out what the doctors had to say.

"He's in very critical condition. He'll have to stay hospitalized for a while. Outpatient care, afterwards is very tricky. He'll have to be monitors 24/7. As of now, he's suffering from a few broken ribs and a broken arm. There was some internal bleeding, but we took care of that. His ankle is sprained pretty badly. He'll have some difficulty walking, and he's suffering from a concussion. We'll have to wake him up in a few minutes, so nothing more serious happens. I'm confident he'll make a full albeit slow recovery." The doctor explained. 2

Navya's eyes flickered between Anant and the doctor as he gave his explanation. She wanted him to open his eyes and smile at her and tell her that he's okay. She wanted him to comfort her, but she knew she was the one who needed to comfort him. She was determined to take care her husband in the best way possible. The doctor and navya took a seat next to Anant once again. She was told that she'd have to wake anant up in a few minutes because of his concussion. she took a deep breath.

"Anant," she whispered. "Anant," she tried again, more loudly.

She put her hand on his shoulder, making sure she wouldn't cause him any pain.

"Anant, wake up." she said, shaking his shoulder.

"Navya" She heard Anant whisper. His brows furrowed, but his eyes didn't open.

she placed her hand on top of Anant's. His fingers curled around hers. He eye finally opened. He looked confused for a moment, and then it all came flooding back. He had been in a car accident, and now he was in a hospital, and sitting beside him was navya.

"Anant, are you alright?" she stood up quickly, anxious that Anant was awake.

"I'm fine." Anant said in a barely audible voice.

He could see more tears well up in navya's eyes.

"Anant you're hurt." she said sadly.

navya, I'll be okay." he said.

Navya didn't say anything. More tears fell onto her cheek. She wasn't hysterical, just sad. Anant understood that his being in the hospital was causing her a lot of grief, and to be honest, he didn't feel so hot either.

"Damn, I must look like shit." Anant tried to grin. "Everything hurts." He said more seriously.

she suddenly looked even more concerned.

"Is there anything I can do?" she asked, not sure if she could do anything to make his pain stop.

"Nothing would make me feel better like a kiss." Anant said innocently. 1

she blushed. She quickly wiped away some tears.

"Anant, seriously. You're hurt and you're making a joke." she said.

"Who's joking? A kiss would honestly make me feel better." Anant replied.

she leaned down and kissed Anant. His lips felt stiff against hers for a moment before be shifted to get to a better angle. The kiss was slow and passionate. It lasted longer than navya had intended. Anant felt his mind focusing on his wife rather than the pain that resonated throughout his body. He lifted his good arm and placed a hand on navya's waist, bringing her closer to him. He felt navya pulling away and nipped at her lips. She leaned in and gave him another soft kiss before backing away.

"Damn, who the hell needs a doctor when you have a wife?" Anant commented after the kiss. 2

she blushed.

"I hope you feel better." she said.

"Oh much better!"he answered with a smirk.

Over the next couple of weeks, navya visited at the hospital everyday. Payal and Rajiv had also paid visits, and Hiten showed up more often than anybody. Nikhil and Neha had just stopped by to check up on Anant when navya paid her daily visit.

"navya, darling! How are you holding up?" Neha asked as soon as she saw navya.

"Fine. I'm fine. Anant is recovering quickly." she answered, a little distracted.

"Nikhil found out all the dirt on the accident." Neha said.

"Dirt?" navya questioned.

"Yeah, the car the hit Anant's had these drunk burglars behind the wheel. They'd just robbed some big estate and were on the run. The guy driving was too drunk to control his car and slammed into Anant's." Neha said.

"Oh my god! How do you know all this?" navya asked, surprised.

"Nikhil found out through the police reports. The truck drive that also hit Anant saw the whole thing happen before his truck hit Anant's car. He was driving behind the drunk fools." Neha replied.

"Well, now what happens?" she aasked.

"Well, they're going to jail and Anant and the truck driver are going to get a lot of money. Technically speaking, Anant helped catch those thieves." Neha reasoned.

"Yeah, by getting into a car accident with them." she said dismally. "Is the truck driver alright?"

"Yeah he's fine. His big truck hitting Anant's little sport's car...think about it. He barely got injured. He's probably going to file for claims because he needs money and won't feel guilty about getting it from criminals." Neha explained.

"So Anant was the only one who got hurt?" she asked, a little angrily.

"Anant's injuries were by far the worst. Yes." Neha confirmed.

"This isn't fair." navya said quietly.

"Maybe it was karma." Neha said without thinking.

Navya gave her a sharp look.

"Anant doesn't deserve this no matter what he did to me." navya defended. She walked back into Anant's room. 2

"Good news, Mrs. Bajpai, your husband can go home." The doctor announced as soon as navya stepped into the room.

"Really?" she asked in disbelief.

"Yes, he agreed to a full-time nurse to monitor his progress." The doctor said.

"A nurse?" she asked, confused.

"Yes, to monitor him and make sure he's well taken care of." the doctor replied.

she thanked the doctor and was left alone in the room with Anant. She walked over to his bed.

"Why do you need a nurse?" she asked.

"The doctor said I could only go home if someone looked after me all day and all night." Anant said.

"But why a nurse?" she asked.

"I don't understand." he said.

"Why don't you want me to take care of you?" she asked.

Anant smiled at her.

"Navya, I didn't want to make your life hell. Think about it. Taking care of me no matter what even in the middle of the night if something were to go wrong." Anant said.

"I don't mind. I'm your wife. It's my job to take care of you." she countered.

"Okay, what about this?" Anant had a challenging look on his face. "Who's going to give me a sponge bath?"

she blushed. The thought of giving Anant a sponge bath, wiping down his naked body with a wet cloth, made her anxious. However, the thought of someone else doing it in their house made her angry.

"I'm kidding, navya. I don't need sponge baths. I'm not immobile." Anant said. "I just don't want to be a burden on you."

"That's not possible." she said quickly. She'd never think that way of Anant. "You don't need a nurse."

"But navya," Anant started.

"No nurse." she repeated sternly.

Anant smirked. she was being so feisty, and it was sexy.

"Yes ma'am." he said obediently.

When they reached Anant's mansion, Hiten helped him up to his room.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Hiten asked, concerned.

"I'm fine. I'm just going to take a nap or something." Anant replied.

"Okay, and then after your nap..." Hiten said, slowly backing out of the room, "Maybe you can conference call India about that business deal I was supposed to confirm a week ago."

"Hiten!" Anant exclaimed. Before Anant could chuck a pillow at him, Hiten dashed out the door.

"What was that about?" navya asked, entering the room.

"That useless idiot didn't finalize a deal!" Anant said angriliy.

"Anant, be nice." she said halfheartedly.

"I am nice." Anant pouted.

"I need to change your bandages." she said, pulling out a first aid box.

"Can't it wait?" Anant asked.

"Stop being a child." navya chastised.

Anant pouted. Changing his bandages took a long time and it bored him to death. she unwrapped the bandages around his head. He bruise had healed so that it was no longer as apparent. Anant cringed as navya rewrapped with his head with fresh bandages. She moved to his ankle next, this time applying antiseptic spray.

"Shit! That stings!" Anant exclaimed.

"Sorry," she gave him a mischievous smile.

Anant watched her intensely. She was so focused on taking care of him that she didn't notice his eyes on here. After she rewrapped his ankle, she changed the smaller bandages that covered different bruises on his arm. She reached his his shoulder but stopped, hesitating slightly.

"What's the matter?" Anant asked.

"I...I need to take your shirt off." she said.

"Then take it off." Anant smirked.

Navya hesitantly unbuttoned Anant's shirt and peeled it off his body. She changed the bandage on his shoulder. She motioned for him to lean forward. He obeyed, leaning onto her as she unwrapped the bandages around his abdomen.

"You know, you're going to have to do this every day: get his close to me, take my shirt off." Anant whispered in navya's ear.

"Anant," navya started moving away.

"You haven't finished yet." Anant said, stopping her.

she finished wrapping bandages around Anant's abdomen and stood up.

"Maybe Kamla should change your bandages." she suggested.

"But you're my wife. You're supposed to take care of me." Anant countered.

"I am taking care of you." she defended.

"Navya I'm in pain." Anant said sadly.

"It's not going to work a second time." she said, referring to the kiss they shared in the hospital the last time Anant complained about pain.

"Fine then." Anant pouted.

navya stifled a laugh. He was such a child.

"You need to take your medicine."she said.

"But it's gross." he whined.

"Anant, you have to otherwise you won't get better." navya reasoned.

"I don't want it." Anant said.

"You're so childish." navya commented.

"You said that already." Anant said.

"I'll make a deal with you." navya said.

Anant's interest peaked.

"What kind of deal?" he asked.

"I'll change your bandages every day, getting as close to you as I need to without hesitating if you take your medicine like a champ, meaning no complaints and no whining." she suggested.

he smirked. He could have a lot of fun with this.

"Okay, deal." he said.

she gave him his medicine and he took it willingly, only making a face once.

"Good boy." teased she as she stood up to leave.

"Navya," Anant said.

she turned around, waiting for Anant to continue.

"Are you still angry with me?" Anant asked unexpectedly. 2

she paused. She hadn't really thought about whether or not she was still angry with Anant since he'd gotten in the accident. Of course, his infidelity had hurt her even more deeply since she realized she now loved him.

"Let's just focus on your recovery." she said quickly, trying to make an escape.

"You're avoiding the question." Anant pointed out.

she held the door open, ready to leave.

"If you need an answer, then it's yes." she said, stepping out of Anant's room and closing the door behind her.

Anant sighed in disappointment. navya hadn't ever shown that she was still angry with Anant throughout his recovery. A part of him was hoping that she'd forgiven him because of his car accident, but sadly that wasn't the case. He wondered why navya was still angry. She was justified in being angry, but why has that anger lasted so long? Couldn't she just throw a tantrum, yell at him and then forget it? He didn't like this prolonged anger that she possessed. The fact that her anger was subtle confused him even more.

anant's medication instantly made him drowsy. Navya came back to check up on him many times throughout the day. He was in such a deep sleep that he didn't even stirred when she entered. Kamla tried to wake him up to get him to eat dinner, but he mumbled that he wasn't hungry and went back to sleep. navya also tried a little later but Anant gave no response. She picked up the medication and read the label. It claimed some intense drowsiness. she had been afraid that she'd given him the wrong dosage, but she followed all of the doctor's instructions. she sat down on Anant's bed and wondered why he'd been sleeping so much. It was late, so there was no point in waking him up now. She herself was tired and decided to go back to her own room.

"navya!" Anant's voice reached navya's ears. She stirred awake, wondering if she'd heard correctly.

"navya!" he called again. She heard a grunt. she rushed out of her bedroom and down the hall into Anant's room.

"What's the matter?" she asked urgently.

Anant was awake and writhing in pain. He was clutching his abdomen and was in a cold seat. she rushed to his side. She ran down to the kitchen and got a cold compress to put on Anant's forehead. She went back up to his bedroom and unwrapped the bandages around his abdomen. She applied some medicine to his wound and rewrapped it with some fresh bandages. Then, she gave him some painkillers.

"How are you feeling now?" she asked after a few minutes.

"Much better. Sorry for waking you up in the middle of the night." Anant answered.

"Anant, you were in pain. It's a good thing you woke me up." she replied sincerely.

Anant looked at navya. He reached out and placed his hand over hers. She looked up at him expectantly.

"Maybe you should just stay here." Anant said, his gaze boring into navya.

"Stay here?" she said unsurely.

"Stay in my bedroom with me just in case." Anant said.

"In case?" she asked.

"What if you hadn't heard me tonight or what if something worse happens? You should just stay here. It's better that way." Anant declared.+

"For the duration of your recovery, you mean." she said.

"Or forever." he said with a smirk.

she blushed. She readily agreed. Honestly, she was a little nervous about something happening during the middle of the night when she wasn't around to monitor Anant. Now that he'd suggested that she just stay with him, she felt relieved. She also felt ecstatic to be once again sharing a bedroom with Anant. She was glad to be living as his wife again. She settled in beside Anant He reached out for her, but she shook her head.2

"What's wrong?" he asked, disappointed when navya moved all the way to the other side of the bed.

"I don't want to accidently disturb any of your wounds." she reasoned.

"navya, you won't hurt me." Anant said, extending his arm out to her.

"Just in case." she said, moving closer to the opposite edge of the bed.

"Fine, whatever you want." Anant said, defeated.

The next morning Anant instructed the maids to shift all of navya's things back into his room. He thought back to the reason why he'd kicked her out in the first place and felt ridiculous. He'd tried to get closer to her last night but she refused, worried about his injuries. He knew once it came time for his bandages to be changed, he would have another opportunity to make navya come closer to him, and he wasn't about to miss it.

"Anant, are you ready?" she came into his bedroom, ready to change his bandages.

"navya, I need to take a shower. Will you help me?" Anant said.

"Help you...take a shower?" she said, looking down.

Anant smiled. He liked the way she thought.

"As much as I would enjoy that, I just need help getting to the shower." Anant said.

she walked over to Anant's bedside. He pulled back the covers flung his legs over the side. she helped him stand up. Anant grimaced at the pain he felt in his ankle. He wrapped his arm around navya, leaning against her for support. They slowly made their way to the bathroom. Anant sat down on the edge of his large bathtub.

"I think I can make it from here. The shower is literally two feet away." Anant said, gesturing towards the luxurious spa shower that stood right beside the bathtub.

she turned to leave, thankful that Anant didn't need any further assistance.

"navya, wait." Anant stopped her.

she paused. She slowly turned around, dreading whatever it was Anant was about to say.

"I need help getting undressed." Anant said innocently.

she hesitated. She looked at Anant, wondering if he was serious. She gave in and walked back towards him. She started unbuttoning his shirt, and Anant let her. He sat back and watched as she slipped his shirt down his shoulders. She peeled the bandages off his shoulder and started working on the bandages around his abdomen. Anant leaned in closer. His nose brushed against her cheek. navya's eyes flickered up towards Anant. She paused for a moment before continuing to unwrap his bandages. Anant grabbed navya's hand. He pulled her closer to him. she looked down. anant got ready to stand up. she offered her hand for support. He leaned against to her to take the weight off of his bad ankle. she started off toward the shower.

"Wait," Anant stopped her. "I'm not fully undressed yet"

"Anant," she blushed. "I can't..."

"Navya, you're my wife. If you aren't going to help me with this situation, who will?" Anant asked innocently.

Anant suddenly kissed her. Their lips connected, and navya started to feel numb. She wasn't expecting Anant to kiss her, but she couldn't bring herself to break away from it. Her eyes fluttered closed as Anant's hand moved her hand down his chest. She felt him stop at his belt. She slowly undid his buckle. Anant smiled against navya's lips. He deepened the kiss, making navya feel light headed. He could tell the passion was overwhelming her. Her hands now rested on his chest. Anant grabbed navya's arm for support and stepped out of his pants, leaving him in just his boxers. His lips never left navya's. He leaned back against the bathtub, moving navya with him. Finally, Anant broke the kiss. He turned navya around with his good arm so that her back was against his chest.3

"Anant," she whispered. Her breathing was uneven, "I..."

"Sshhh," Anant quieted her. "Are you sure you don't want to join me in the shower?" He said in her ear. He placed a light kiss on her neck.

navya bit her lip. She felt Anant nuzzle her neck. She moved her head to the side, giving him more access. navya's eyes shot open. She rushed out of the bathroom and closed the door behind her without so much as looking at Anant. She leaned against the bathroom door unable to believe what had just happened...what could've happened. She left Anant's bedroom and quickly made her way downstairs before he could follow her. Anant stood in the bathroom, smiling. navya was so shy. He was actually surprised she'd lasted so long in such a compromising position with him. He wished that she would've agreed to join him in the shower, but of course he knew, she wouldn't. His plan to get closer to navya had worked, and the little deal she made with him gave him ample opportunity for repeated romance.

she decided to join the chef in the kitchen to get her mind off of anant. She couldn't really focus on cooking, so simply watched the chef as he prepared dinner.

"Ma'am," Kamla came into the kitchen. "There is a visitor for you."

"A visitor for me?" she asked. "Is it Payal?"2

"No ma'am. I don't recognize her. She said she only wanted to talk to you. She's waiting in the living room." Kamla replied.2

"Alright, I'll be right there." she said. She wondered who it could be. Kamla knows Payal, Aditi, and Neha. They are the only people who ever come to meet navya.

navya walked into the living room. She looked at the woman before her. She was sure she'd never met this woman before, but something about her seemed familiar.

"Are you navya?" the woman asked.1

"Yes. Who are you?" she asked skeptically.

"I'm Tamanna. I'm the woman your husband cheated on you with." Tamanna said.18

she gasped. She paused for a moment, assessing the situation. Tamanna was dressed in a simple striped maxi dress and carried a trendy handbag. Nothing about her seemed extraordinary. navya spitefully wondered what Anant had seen in her.

"What do you want?" she said, a little too angrily.

"I heard about Anant's accident." Tamanna started.

"You can't see him if that's why you came." navya replied sternly.

"No, I wanted to talk to you actually." Tamanna revealed.

"Me? About what?" navya asked.

"Anant and I didn't have sex." Tamanna declared. "We just got too drunk and got carried away, but he wouldn't sleep with me."

"Why should I believe you?" she asked. She started to think whether or not Anant must have put Tamanna up to this.

"What do I have to gain from talking to you?" Tamanna challenged.

"Anant might've told you to come and talk to me." navya replied.

"Anant won't even talk to me. He doesn't care about me, navya But do you know who he cares about? You, navya" Tamanna said.

"If he cared, he wouldn't have cheated on me."she said seriously.

"We danced at a nightclub. We kissed." Tamanna said.

"I don't want to hear this." she said. She turned away, walking back to the kitchen, but Tamanna stopped her.

"Wait, navya. You need to hear this. We kissed. He brought me back here, and we made out. I tried so hard to get him to have sex with me, but he wouldn't. No matter how drunk he was, he knew better than to sleep with another woman. You know what he said?" Tamanna said.

"What?" navya was curious.

"He said that navya would never forgive him. Later, when we took more shots, he kept saying your name, saying something about you two not being ready for this." Tamanna explained.

"What?" navya asked. She couldn't believe what she was hearing.

"That's what he said. I know it's not my place, but I do hope you forgive him one day." Tamanna said. She left, leaving navya to think about what she'd just said.

Anant was telling the truth. He'd never slept with another woman. He still cheated on her, but not in a way that was completely unforgiveable. navya's love for Anant grew in that moment. Her anger had been keeping her love at bay, but now that she knew all the details, she couldn't stop herself from falling even harder for her husband, especially after what had just happened in the bathroom. He'd even envisioned navya and even then refused to go all the way. Anant was a better person than navya had given him credit for after he'd confessed about his affair. Maybe it was time to forgive him.6

she went upstairs to see if Anant was out of the shower. She knew he would need her to rewrap his wounds once he was done. she knocked on the door, unsure whether or not it was alright for her to enter.

"Come in," Anant's voice said from the other side of the door.

"Anant, do you need me to wrap your bandages?" she asked.

Anant wasn't in the bedroom.

"Anant?" she called unsurely.

"In the bathroom." Anant replied.

navya walked to the bathroom. The door was open. Anant sitting on the edge of the bathtub, trying to get his arm through the sleeve of his shirt.

"How did you manage to get dressed?" she said, giggling at Anant's feeble attempt to wear a shirt.

"Trust me, it wasn't easy." Anant chuckled. He'd managed to get dressed from the waist down, but his shoulder injury made it difficult for him to put on a shirt. "Will you please help me?"

"Of course." navya replied. She walked over to Anant and helped him with his shirt. She didn't bother buttoning it because she knew she'd have to take it off again once she starts bandaging his wounds. Anant, with navya's help, limped over to his bed. He laid back down, and waited for navya to start bandaging. Her fingers traced over the wound on his abdomen.

"Don't worry, navya It doesn't hurt so much anymore." Anant said reassuringly.

navya looked at him, concerned. She started applying the medicine.

"So you know how you asked me if I was still angry with you yesterday?" navya said casually.

"Yeah," Anant replied carefully.

"Well I'm not anymore." she said.

"You aren't angry with me anymore? You've forgiven me?" Anant asked in disbelief.

"I forgive you, Anant." she said.

Anant smiled.

"That's great! I'm so glad. But navya, why did you forgive me all of a suddenly? Yesterday, you said you were still mad." Anant said.

"Well...Tamanna came by and talked to me today." she said.+

"What do you mean?" Anant said, confused. 2

"Tamanna, the woman you...you know, came here." she repeated.

"When?" Anant asked in disbelief.

"While you were in the shower just now." she answered, as she started to rewrap Anant's bandages.

"What the hell did she say?" Anant asked, irritated that Tamanna had the nerve to come back to his house.

"She told me what you told me. Youre infidelity wasn't as severe as I thought and that night...you thought about me." Navya said, while she applied some medicine to Anant's wounds.

"Navya" Anant stopped navya from tending to his wounds, getting her undivided attention. "Why did you believe her and not me?"

navya looked down, unsure how to answer without offending Anant.

"Well, she had nothing to gain. You did." she started.

"Meaning?" Asked Anant.

"She doesn't know me. I don't know her, but she still came all the way down here and she took your side. I thought you convinced her to come and see m-"

"No I didn't!" Anant interrupted. "I don't talk to her at all anymore, navya You have to believe me."

"She said the same thing. You two don't talk anymore, and you had nothing to do with it. Anant, I thought you were just telling me what I wanted to hear, so I'd forgive you. When Tamanna came and told me everything that you told me, I had no reason not to believe her." she explained. 1

Anant was quiet. He looked saddened by what navya had just told him.

"You believed her over me." He stated quietly.

"Anant." navya said.

"She's a stranger. I'm your husband." Anant said, a little angrily.

"It's because a stranger, Anant. That's why I believed her. She could've come here and said horrible things about that night you two spent together. She could've told lies that would have made me forget the very notion of ever forgiving you, but she didn't." navya said.

"That doesn't make her a good person, navya She's a bitch who caused all these problems in the first place." Anant replied.

"Anant, you're at fault too." navya said quietly.

"Why are you taking her side?" Anant asked, still angry.

"I'm not! I'm just trying to tell you why I believe her." navya replied.

"I've been apologizing to you ever since I told, and you wouldn't forgive me. She comes by one time and talked to you for five minutes, and you suddenly decide you can forgive me." Anant said, the volume of his voice rising. "That's bullshit!"

"Anant, why are you so angry? I've forgiven you. Isn't that what you wanted?" she replied, surprised by Anant's anger.

"It's all I wanted, navya, but this wasn't the way I wanted it to happen." Anant said calmly.

"I'm sorry." she said, feeling like she'd done something wrong.

"Don't apologize. You didn't do anything. I just...I hate that she came here. I never wanted you two to meet." Anant admitted.

"Can I finish this?" she asked, pointing to Anant's half wrapped bandages.

"Of course." Anant said, leaning forward and letting go of navya's hands so she could continue bandaging his wounds. +

"Are you still angry?" navya asked once she finished.

"No, I have nothing to be angry at you about." Anant replied.

navya started to get up, but Anant stopped her, grabbing her arm. He pulled her closer to him. She looked at him unsurely, wondering what he wanted from her.

"We should celebrate. You've finally forgiven me. Let me take you out tonight." Anant said.

navya smiled. She increased the distance between them, pulling away from him slightly.

"Anant, you can barely walk properly. We can celebrate once you've recovered." she said.

"You're no fun." Anant pouted.

navya stifled a laugh. Anant was being a child again, and he was so cute! 3

"I promise, as soon as you're fully recovered, we'll celebrate in whatever way you want." navya said.

Anant perked up.

"Any way I want?" Anant asked, pulling navya closer.

"Anant! You have a dirty mind." she said.

"I was thinking a fun night at an amusement park, navya. I don't know what you were thinking." Anant said, jokingly. 4

"Seriously?" she asked in disbelief, not understanding the joke.

"What? Are we children? We're not going to an amusement park." Anant laughed.

"Good," she said.

"navya, are you afraid of roller coasters?" Anant asked.

"No...maybe" she said.

"Well, an amusement park isn't really my idea of a romantic date, but maybe..." Anant said.

"No! I'm not going to an amusement park!" navya exclaimed. Anant belted out a loud laugh. she blushed.

"Don't worry, navya. I'm just kidding. I'll think of something more romantic with just as much adrenaline." Anant winked. navya blushed even more, knowing exactly what Anant was hinting at.

"Anant," she stood up, eager to leave.

"Wait," Anant stopped her.

"What's the matter?" she asked.

"Will you just...stay with me? It's so boring being by myself." Anant said.

"Sure," she said, taking a seat next to Anant once again.

Anant's recovery went by more quickly than his doctor had believed it would. After about two weeks, Anant was told he would need to come back and see the doctor.

"navya, stop worrying. I can almost walk normally now. Everything will be fine." Anant tried to convince navya on the way to the hospital.

"Why do they want to see you again then? Something must be wrong." navya said, concerned.

"It's a routine checkup to make sure my recovery is on track." Anant explained.

"Anant, I'm worried." she said.

Anant took navya's hand. He smiled at her.

"navya, you worry a lot." He stated. "It's because you love me too much." He added with a laugh.

navya's heart lurched. How did Anant find out that she loves him?

"Anant, how did you--" she began.

"We're here." Anant interrupted.

navya didn't bother repeating her question. If Anant wasn't going to make a big deal out of it, she wouldn't either. Right now, all she wanted to focus on was what the doctor was going to say about Anant's recovery.

"Shit!" Anant cursed under his breath as the nurse examined his ankle.

"It's gonna hurt a little, sweetheart." The middle-aged nurse said as she bent Anant's ankle forward.

she tried not to laugh. It wasn't nice to laugh at someone's pain, but Anant's facial expressions were priceless. The discomfort he was feeling was written all over his face. Suddenly, Anant grabbed navya's hand and pulled her towards the hospital bed.

"It hurts so much." He said, pouting while squeezing her hand.

"It's not gonna hurt for long, honey. Don't you worry." The nurse said, believing that Anant was in a lot more pain than he actually was. Soon, the nurse left to go get the doctor, so he could come and finish Anant's checkup.

"Are you in a lot of pain?" navya asked, worried.

"Yeah it hurts like a bitch!" Anant exclaimed.

navya gave Anant a disappointed look.

"Sorry, navya. I'm just telling it like it is." Anant apologized for his language.

"Can I do something?"she asked.

"There is one thing you could do." Anant said, sheepishly.

"What is it?" she replied.

"Nothing would make my ankle feel better like a foot massage." Anant said.

navya looked at him unsurely. Giving Anant a foot massage wasn't exactly her idea of a desirable thing to do. She sighed and walked to the foot of the hospital bed. She began to reach for Anant's feet.

"navya, wait." Anant said.

she stopped, looking back at Anant.

"I don't really want a foot massage from you. I respect you too much to make you do something like that...but I could use a kiss." Anant said. 6

"Anant, the doctor could walk in at any minute." she said.

"So? He won't care." Anant replied.

"I care." navya said.

Anant started to get up off the hospital bed.

"What are you doing?" she asked.

"Getting up. If you aren't going to come here and kiss me, I'm just going to have to kiss you." Anant said.

He grunted at the pain that shot through his ankle. navya instantly felt bad. She stopped him and walked to the other end of the bed. She gently pulled anant back onto the bed. Once he was laying down, she leaned down and kissed him softly.

"There, that should make you feel better." she said, stepping back.

"No, it wasn't enough."he pouted.

"Anant don't be childish." she reprimanded.

"But...I want to kiss you some more." Anant continued.

she blushed. The doctor came in at that moment.

"Well Anant, how's the recovery going?" He asked Anant.

"Great! I feel a lot better in just a couple of weeks." Anant admitted.

The doctor started checking Anant's ankle. He had Anant walk across the room to check the progression of his mobility. He also checked his wounds.

"I have no doubt that you'll be walking normally by the end of the month. These wounds look pretty healed. I wouldn't worry about scarring too much. Your wife took such good care of you. Usually, men of your means hire an army of nurses, but I think even an army of nurses wouldn't have taken care of you as well as your wife did." The doctor said, smiling.

"I know. She's the best." Anant said, looking at navya.

"She must really love you." The doctor mused.

navya's eyes widened in surprise. Did the entire world notice that navya had fallen in love with Anant? Anant said nothing in response, but his eyes were still on navya.

"See, navya. There was nothing to worry about. The doctor said everything is great." Anant said to navya after leaving the hospital. They were on their way back to Anant's mansion.

"I know. I'm glad. Sorry for worrying so much." navya replied.

"I like that your worry about me. It shows that you care." Anant said, smiling.

The fact that she cared was an understatement. She loved him and would do anything for him. navya felt elated that Anant was going to be alright, but she couldn't help but feel restless. Did Anant know about navya's feelings toward him or did he merely say that she loved him as a joke? Did he take the doctor's remarks seriously or not? If Anant did know that navya loved him, why wasn't he saying anything about it?

"navya," Anant said, trying to get her attention.

"Yes?" she answered.

"I was just saying we should plan our celebration at the end of the month. The doctor said I should be good as new by then. It's the perfect opportunity." Anant said.

"Will you still want to celebrate so many weeks after the fact?" she asked doubtfully.

Anant frowned.

"Do you not want to celebrate with me?" He asked sadly.

"No! I'd love to, but is it really worth celebrating?" she asked.

"navya, you were angry with me for so long. Our relationship was suffering. Hell, I was suffering. You finally forgive me, and don't think that's worth celebrating?" Anant said seriously.

He turned to her waiting for a response. she looked down, not sure what to say. She didn't want to upset Anant, but she didn't understand why her forgiveness was so important to him. She wasn't particularly mean to him while she was angry with him, and they didn't even live in the same bedroom and could easily go about their lives with limited contact. She brushed it off, thinking that Anant was just the type of man who did not like being disliked by others.

"We'll celebrate, Anant. We'll do whatever you want." she relented.

"Whatever I want?" he raised an eyebrow.

"You know what I mean." she said.

"navya, can I kiss you?" Anant asked suddenly.

"Anant..." she shook her head, glancing at the driver.

"I told you this was going to happen when we were in the hospital." Anant replied.

"But..." she protested.

"It's okay. I can wait til we're alone" Anant winked at her.

Anant could barely make it in the door before his lips were on navya's. He grabbed her from behind as she was opening the front door. He turned her around, and their lips met as he gently pushed she through the doorway. Anant pulled away from her and quickly closed the door behind them. He pushed navya up against the front door and kissed her again.

"Anant, someone will see us." she said.

"navya, there's no one else here. I gave everyone the day off." Anant said, giving her another quick kiss.

"Why?" she asked.

"So I can spend some alone time with my lovely wife." Anant explained.

she blushed. She was excited that Anant wanted to spend so much time with her.

"One week." Anant said, stepping away from her. He started to walk up the stairs.

"One week?" she said curiously as she followed him, making sure he would make it up the stairs alright.

He walked all the way up the to the top of the stairs before giving a further explanation.

"In one week, it'll be the end of the month. The doctor said I should be as good as new by the end of the month." Anant explained.

"And?" navya prompted.

"And we're going to celebrate." Anant said. "So be ready."

"Ready for what?" she asked, following Anant into his bedroom.

"Ready for the best celebration ever." Anant said, excitedly.

"Really? The best celebration ever?" she challenged skeptically.

"Are you doubting me?" Anant laughed.

"What if I am?" navya said.

Anant looked at her in disbelief. He thought that feisty side of navya he'd once seen was a one time thing, but that didn't seem to be the situation.

"Is that a challenge I hear, Mrs. Bajpai?" Anant said, walking closer to navya.

"It is, Mr. Bajpai." she smiled.

AnNT smirked. Wow, navya really had it in her to challenge him like that.

"Okay, navya. I promise you a celebration that you'll never forget." Anant said.

"Whatever you say." navya dismissed. She backed away from Anant and brushed past him into his room.

He quickly followed her with the intention of continuing their kissing session.

"navya!" Anant called. A week had passed. Anant wouldn't let navya do anything for him. She wasn't allowed to assist him with walking or change his bandages.

"Anant," she said, entering the bedroom.

"Get ready! We have a celebration to get to!" Anant said, hurriedly. He pushed navya into the bathroom and pulled the door closed before she could say anything.

He went into his large, walk-in closet and pulled out a pair of jeans. He was about to put on a white t-shirt, but his eyes landed on a dark blue button down shirt. He remembered once navya had told him that she loved when he wore blue. Blue shirt it was! Anant exited the closet. He was rolling up the sleeve of this shirt when when navya emerged from the bathroom. She was adjusting her earring as she walked out. +

You aren't wearing that." Anant stated simply.

"What? Why not?" she asked. She was wearing a red sari that had some sparkle to it.

"navya, where we're going isn't somewhere you'll want to be wearing a sari." Anant explained.

"Why not? Where are we going?" she asked.

"I'm not going to ruin the surprise." Anant smiled.

She looked at how Anant was dressed. It was the most casual outfit that navya had ever seen Anant wear before. She was perplexed. Where on earth was he taking her?

"Wear a salwar kameez instead." Anant suggested.

"Okay, sure." she said. She disappeared into the closet to find an appropriate outfit.

"Is this okay?" she asked, after she'd changed into a turquoise anarkali salwar kameez. It was long and had transparent, long sleeves. There was a red floral design on the bodice that matched the blood red border that adorned the bottom of the top. Right below the neckline and above the bodice, there was transparent fabric that showed off navya's bustline, and Anant couldn't stop staring at it.

"It's great." Anant managed to say.

she looked at Anant skeptically but didn't comment.

"Come on. We're not going to make it in time." Anant said grabbing navya's hand and rushing her down the stairs and into his car.

"Where are we going?" navya asked again.

"navya, just give it up. I'm not telling." Anant smiled.

Once Anant drove through the city and onto a long road, she knew at once that they would be sitting in the car for a long time. Even last time Anant took her out on their date, he took her to that beautifully decorated forest that took forever to get to. navya adjusted herself in her seat, getting comfortable for a long ride.

"Okay, we're here." Anant announced. After what seemed like over an hour in the car.

"Finally," navya said gratefully. She looked around her. They were at a beach. "The beach?"

"Yeah! Come on" Anant said excitedly.

she followed Anant out of the car. Anant started walking onto the sand, but suddenly sat down and started taking off his shoes. navya stood and watched him curiously.

"Take off your shoes." Anant instructed. He pulled her down beside him. she slipped off her sandals. She looked around at the deserted beach.

"Anant, where is everyone?" She asked.

"We're alone." Anant said simply.

"Alone?" navya questioned.

"It's a private beach. It's going to be just us tonight." Anant said, looking longingly at navya. "Look over there."

she looked to the middle of the beach. There was a small table, just large enough to fit two, with a pure, white table cloth. Sitting on top was a luxurious candlelight dinner. Around the table, small lights in the shape of a heart sat in the sand.

"It's perfect," she said, smiling.

The two sat and ate, having a nice, long conversation. she was happy that he hadn't gone overboard with his so-called celebration.' She was expecting something more public and exciting, but she was glad that Anant had opted for something more intimate.

"Do you want some champagne?" Anant offered, pouring himself a glass.

navya wrinkled her nose and shook her head.

"Come on, navya We're celebrating. At least have some for the toast." Anant tried convincing her. He poured a little bit of champagne into a glass and handed it to navya.

"Thanks," She said, taking it unsurely.

"To you, navya" Anant said, holding out his glass. "For being sweet enough to forgive your good-for-nothing, extremely selfish, huge jerk of a husband."

"Anant, that's not true." she said.

"Of course it is. I'm terrible. And you're amazing. You nursed me back to health after my accident even though you were angry with me, and you found it in your heart to forgive me." Anant said.

"But Anant you're great too. I'm happy you're my husband." She smiled.

"Really?" Anant's face lit up.

"Of course." she replied.

"To us," Anant said, holding up his glass again. "For being such an attractive couple."2

she laughed and clinking glasses with Anant. She took a small sip of the champagne and set her glass aside. She and Anant dug into the delicious food, enjoying each other's company.

After eating, they took a long walk on the beach, along the shoreline. navya sunk her toes deep into the warm sand, loving how it felt against her bare feet. Anant held her hand as they walked. He kept glancing at her, taking in her beauty. He started pulling her towards that ocean, but she stopped him.

"We'll get wet." navya said.

Anant smiled.

"That's the point. Come on, navya. Have a little fun." Anant coaxed. He pulled her along so that their feet were completely submerged in the ocean.

The water felt cold against navyas feet. She clung close to Anant, not liking that waves that lapped at their ankles. Anant turned to her and stared at her.

"What is it?" she asked. Anant hadn't taken his eyes off her.

"Maybe wearing a sari here would've actually been a good idea." Anant said.

"Why do you say that?" she asked, remembering that Anant was the one who told her to change.

"navya," Anant took a step closer. He leaned his forehead against hers. "You in a wet sari...would've been damn sexy!"

she gasped and started to blush. She started walking back to the shore. Anant grabbed her hand and pulled her back towards him. He wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her. navya her heart beat quicken as Anant kissed her. She placed her hands on his chest and moved closer to him. She felt his hands leave her waist. Anant started fiddling with the buttons on his shirt.

"What are you doing?" she asked, breaking the kiss.

"What do you say to taking a little dip?" Anant asked, taking his shirt off and throwing it onto the dry sand near the ocean.

she looked at Anant skeptically. She took a few steps back, moving closer to the shore.

"No, we'll catch a cold." she said, not wanting to get wet.

"Navya, we're young and healthy. A little water isn't going to kill us." Anant said, walking closer to she with a serious look on his face.

"Anant don't." she backed away more quickly and soon broke out into a jog.

Anant ran after her, knowing that he could quickly overpower her. He laughed at navya's futile attempt to get away from him. Anant quickly diminished the distance between them and tried to grab navya's hand. He missed and grabbed her veil instead. It easily slid off her shoulders. she momentarily paused to see what had just happened. Anant stopped and looked at what was in his hand. He smirked at navya who still stood a few yards in front of him. He threw her veil onto the shore and started running after her again. Upon seeing this, navya started running too. 5

"Stay away!" She yelled back at him.

"Never!" Anant replied.

navya felt Anant's arms around her and accepted defeat. Anant grabbed her from behind and the two came crashing down into the water. They were still near the shoreline, so the water was shallow. Anant rolled both of them around so they made it deeper and deeper into the water. A wave washed over them, soaking them completely. Anant and navya started laughing. They both looked ridiculous. Anant laid down, letting that water rush over him again and again. He pulled navya's wet body on top of his. navya leaned down and kissed him. Another small wave collided into them, but they didn't seem to notice. Anant sat up so they were in a sitting position, their lips still connected. Soon, he stood up and lifted navya up into his arms. navya looked down, a little worried that Anant would drop her. He carried her down the beach, where she saw a small bonfire and a few blankets spread out nearby. Anant sat her down on the blanket and jogged back to fetch his shirt and her veil. When he came back, he laid the articles of clothing beside them and handed navya a towel. 2

"Did you plan all of this?" she asked, taking the towel.

"All of what?" Anant asked innocently.

"Playing in the water." she stated.

"Maybe." Anant grinned as he dried off.

"You could have warned me." she said.

"If I told you about all of this, would you have come?" Anant asked, knowing the answer already.

"Never."navya answered.

"Exactly." Anant countered.

Anant leaned over navya and reached for his shirt. His cheek brushed against hers. she instinctively moved her face back. Anant smiled and kissed her on her cheek, and then her chin, and then her neck. Her skin tasted salty from the ocean. He placed one hand at the back of her neck drawing her closer. He kissed lower until he reached her chest. Anant looked back up at navya and placed a quick kiss on her lips before backing away and putting on his shirt.

she, still fazed by what had just happened, put her veil over her shoulder, pulling it over her chest and the other side of her body. She felt cold as the wind picked up. Anant handed navya another blanket, which she placed over her legs. Anant took the last blanket and wrapped it around himself. He moved navya so that she was laying down and leaning her head on his shoulder and chest. Anant stayed sitting, leaning back and shifting his weight onto his arms that were stretched behind him. They stayed like that for the longest time, reveling in the warmth of the fire.

"navya" Anant said, breaking the peaceful silence that had consumed them.

"Yes?" she replied.

"Can I tell you something?" Anant asked, sounding nervous.

"What is it?" she said, hoping that whatever Anant needed to tell her wasn't some bad news.

"Please, just listen to me." Anant said.

"I'm listening. What's the matter?" she said, shifting a little, so that she could glance up at Anant's face.

"navya, I know that you're going to have a hard time believing me, but I have a confession to make." Anant said.

"A confession?" she asked, worriedly. She remembered Anant's last confession, his last confession that had broken her heart.

"No! It's a good confession this time." Anant said quickly. "At least I'd like to think so."

"Okay, what is it?" she prompted, relieved that she wasn't about to receive some bad news that was bound to ruin this otherwise perfect evening. +

"navya, I love you." 20

she sat up and looked at him, trying to decipher whether or not Anant was joking. She was caught completely off guard.

"No you don't." she said, immediately regretting it after seeing Anant's hurt expression.

"navya I know how I feel about you." Anant said quietly.

"But why?" she asked. 3

"Why what?"he replied.

"Why do you suddenly think you love me?" she said.

"I don't suddenly think I love you. I know I do...because you're beautiful." Anant cupped her cheek with his hand.

navya looked down. She always did that when Anant called her beautiful.

"You care about me, and you do so much for me. navya, you nursed me back to health even after I cheated on you. You were supposed to be angry, but you were so caring. Someone like you at least deserves a loving husband." Anant explained.

she bit her lip, unable to meet Anant's gaze. He moved closer to her.

"And that innocence...damn." Anant whispered, placing a finger under her chin to make her look up at him. "You were never the type of woman I thought I liked, but I was wrong. You're exactly my type, and I love you."10

"Since when?" navya was curious.

"What do you mean since when? I can't tell you the exact moment. Sometime when I was hurt and you were taking care of me, I guess." Anant answered.

Truthfully, navya wouldn't have been able to tell Anant the exact moment when she'd fallen in love with him either. She didn't know why she'd even asked such a silly question. Maybe she just wanted to be sure that he didn't love her when he'd cheated on her.

"Do you trust me?" Anant asked, suddenly.

she looked at him. He'd broken her trust once before, but she'd forgiven him since then.

"Of course." she answered.

"Then why don't you believe me?" Anant challenged.

she stayed quiet.

"It's just a hard thing to believe." she answered.

"Why?" Anant asked, exasperatedly.

"Because it's not you. You're..." navya paused, knowing that she'd just made a mistake.

"Because I'm what? A casanova? A womanizer? Someone who doesn't understand the meaning of love? That's what you were going to say, wasn't it? navya, that was me before I got married. Even after I got married, that was me, but now it's not." Anant tried to convince her.

"I didn't mean..." navya started.

"No, I know what you meant." Anant interrupted angrily. Anant took a deep breath, trying to calm down.

"I don't expect anything from you, if that's what you're worried about." Anant continued. "Just because I'm in love with you doesn't mean I expect you to ever love me. All you wanted was a husband who cared about you, valued you, and loved you. I want to be that husband because you deserve it, navya." Anant said. 2

A tear slipped from navya's eye. Anant was being so caring and so selfless. Anant paused once his eyes landed on navya's face. He reached out and wiped away the tear that had fallen down her face. she took his hand with both of hers and held it for a moment. +

"I love you too." navya said

Anant looked shocked beyond words.

"But..."Anant said, but couldn't continue.

"Anant" she tried to say.

"But you didn't believe me" Anant said.

she gave him a sly look.

"I wasn't about to declare my love for you without making sure first." navya said.

"How can you love me? I betrayed you." Anant said, sadly. He stood up and took a few steps away from the bonfire, turning away from navya.

"I loved you before you told me." she admitted. "I couldn't just stop because you made one mistake. I didn't want to stop."

Anant turned around to face her. She stood up and made her way to him. she looked up at Anant, bringing her face closer to his.

"Anant" she said, smiling, "we're in love."4

Anant closed the small distance between them and kissed navya softly. He took her hand and led her back to the bonfire. They sat back down on the blankets.

"This has to be the best day of my life." Anant said, happily.

"Mine too." agreed navya. She leaned closer to Anant, resting her head on his shoulder. He brought his arm around her, making for room for her to move closer.

navya reached up and kissed Anant, revelling in this perfect moment. Anant deepened the kiss, making it more passionate. He shifted, taking control of the kiss, which navya willingly allowed him to do. Anant leaned forward, making navya fall back onto the blankets with a thump. She broke the kiss and started to laugh.

"Sorry, navya." Anant said, smiling.

Before she could tell Anant that she didn't mind, he kissed her again. She felt his tongue on her bottom lip and pulled away. She looked at Anant for a moment. He gave her a smile and started to back away, knowing he'd reached his limits. she suddenly grabbed him by the collar, stopping him from moving back. Anant looked at her with a curious expression. she pulled him closer, and he got the message. He kissed navya again. navya's mouth opened, allowing Anant to explore every part of it. she felt their tongues meet. It was the deepest, most passionate kiss she'd ever had in her life.

she was lying down on the blankets, while Anant was on top of her. She felt her veil slipping off and was almost sure Anant was pulling it away, but navya didn't care. Anant broke the kiss and started to kiss down her neck. she carefully wrapped her arms around him. Anant kissed down her body, not caring about the fabric that stood between his lips and her skin. He reached her stomach and intended to move further down her body, but navya unexpectedly turned away. She was still laying down, but now on her side with her back towards Anant.

"navya," Anant said, placing his hand on her shoulder, "Do you want me to stop?"

"No." she said quietly.

Anant kissed her neck and kissed down her arm. He leaned over the side of her body and kissed her cheek. He started to unzip the dress of navya's salwar kameez. He peeled it off one of her shoulders and started kissing down her nearly bare back. she turned around so that she was laying on her back again. Anant started pulling her dress lower and lower until her shoulders were bare. He connected his lips with navya's again, moving them down her neck and over her shoulders.

"Anant wait." she stopped him. She reached beside her and pulled her previously discarded veil over her exposed shoulders as she sat up.

Anant backed away, looking somewhat disappointed.

"We're outside." she said simply.

"So? No one will see us." Anant said, leaning forward to kiss her again.

"But still..." she said, looking unsure.

"Okay, come on. Let's go home. We can continue this in peace." chuckled Anant. He quickly stood up, expecting navya to follow suit. navya stayed sitting on the blankets. She slowly slipped her clothes back in place but made no move to stand up. Anant sat back down. He leaned forward and kissed navya's forehead.

"I'll zip you up." Anant offered.

she leaned forward, and Anant wrapped his arms around her, pulling her zipper up. He unwrapped his arms from around her and stood up. He held his hand out, offering to help navya up. They said little to each other on the way to Anant's car. Once they were settled into Anant's warm car, she broke the silence.

"So how long will it take for us to get home?" she asked, trying to make conversation.

"About two hours, I think." hw said.

"Two hours?" he said incredulously. "It's already so late."

"Don't worry, navya." Anant said as he began driving. "There'll be plenty of time for us to finish what we started."

she didn't reply. She felt unsure about whether or not she was ready to finish what they were doing on the beach. She looked over at Anant as he drove. He had a slight smile on his face. She knew that today had been such a great day. It had been perfect, and navya didn't want to do anything to ruin it.

"Anant, would you mind if I took a nap? Two hours is a long time."she said.

"Oh come on, navya. Talk to me. Keep me company." Anant whined.

"I'm tired." she replied.

Anant frowned.

"Shit! Okay, if I let you nap now, you have to promise me you won't say you're tired tonight." Anant said.

"What? Why?" she asked.

"navya, think about it. What are we about to do once we get home? I don't want you to be tired for that." Anant smirked.

she settled in her seat and leaned against the window. Soon she drifted off to sleep.

"navya, wake up. We're home." Anant's voice said quietly.

"So soon?" she replied groggily.

"Sorry, but you have to wake up." Anant laughed.

"No, I don't want to." she whined.

He got out of the car and walked around to navya's side. He opened the door and lifted her out of the car. He carried her inside his mansion and up to the master bedroom. He laid her on the bed without bothering to turn the lights on.

"navya, are you awake?" Anant asked. navya's eyes were still closed.

"Mmmhmm" navya replied, still not opening her eyes.

Anant kissed her softly on her lips. navya's eyes fluttered open. She sat up quickly, looking around her.

"We're already home?" she asked, surprised.

"Yeah. You slept through the whole ride." Anant said.

"Sorry." She said, biting her lip.

"I'll forgive you this time, navya." Anant said lightheartedly. "Because I love you." he added, leaning closer to her.

"I love you too." she said.

"Good because I want you to show me how much you love me." Anant replied.

His lips connected with navya's. She let his tongue explore her mouth, welcoming Anant's affection. Anant started kissing navya's neck. Her back arched as he kissed down her chest.

"anant," navya said, sounding out of breath. "I don't want to continue."

"Continue what?" Anant asked, pulling away from her.

"What we were doing on the beach...what we're doing now." she replied.

"I didn't expect tonight to be the night we consummate our marriage, but after what just happened, I hoped that...I just thought that you wanted it as much as I did." Anant replied carefully.

"I know I'm leading you on." she admitted. "I know I'm being unfair."

"You are." Anant said quietly.

"I'm so sorry." she said, looking down. "I don't want to ruin today. It was perfect."

"Then don't ruin it. Just let this happen." Anant said pleadingly. 14

"Please Anant, just a little more time." she said.

The hurt expression on Anant's face made navya want to cry.

"Okay, I'll give you more time."he agreed. He stood up and started walking toward the closet. "Maybe we should change. Our clothes are still a little damp." Anant continued, changing the subject.

He disappeared into the bathroom to change. navya made her way to the closet, ruffling through some clothes to try to find something to wear. She'd quickly changed and went back to bed. Anant came out a few minutes later, dressed in sweatpants and a t-shirt. He laid down beside navya without saying anything more to her.

"Anant," she said after a few minutes of laying in the dark.

"Hmm..."Anant said, sounding like he didn't want to have a conversation right now.

"Are you mad?" she asked. She needed to know.

"No, I'm not." Anant said, turning around so that he was facing navya.

"Are you sure?" she asked, thinking that Anant was just telling her what she wanted to hear to spare her feelings.

"navya, it's not just about the sex anymore. I love you. If you aren't ready to take the next step, then I have to respect that. I won't bother you about it anymore." Anant said.

"I just need a little more time, Anant. I promise it'll happen." she explained. She felt terrible. Anant was being so caring and extremely understanding. Now just wasn't the right time. She needed Anant to wait just a little longer. 5

"I know. I understand." Anant said, a hint of sadness apparent in his voice.

she turned over and leaned over Anant. She kissed him gently on the lips. Anant smiled at her as she pulled away to assess his reaction. navya hovered over Anant and kissed him again. Her fingers slipped underneath Anant's t-shirt, lifting it up slightly. anant pulled away this time, confused about navyas intentions.

"navya, what are you doing?" Anant asked.

"This is your consolation prize," navya smiled.

"What do you mean?" Anant laughed.

"It means an entire night of romance." she said, trying not to blush.

"Romance? Do you mind clarifying what that entails?" Anant asked.

"Nothing dirty." she answered bluntly.

Anant sat up and quickly pulled his t-shirt off. He grabbed navya and flipped her so that she was beneath him.

"navya, your definition of dirty and my definition of dirty are completely different. Yours probably covers a lot more things than mine." Anant said, his voice deep with lust.

"Let's go with your definition." she said, "since it is your consolation prize." 1

Anant grinned. This really was the best day of his life, and his wife just gave him permission to make it the best night of his life as well. Anant couldn't be happier. 4
