Happy go lucky Soumya Kamal Seth, aka Navya of STAR Plus, is enjoying her stint as an actress and playing a teenage role. Though she has talented relatives like Govinda, Ragini Khanna and Krushna Abhishek, and has landed a dream role, Soumya feels acting school is essential too. When did the acting bug bite you?
There was no specific time wherein I can say that the acting bug bit me but since my childhood, I used to have an unknown attraction towards acting. Gradually my liking towards acting grew as I went to school and college.

What does acting mean to you?
It is a natural way to express your feelings, to live in your character and to connect with your audiences through your work. Acting means making the characters come alive and seem real. I feel acting is the best profession as we actors get to live in varied roles and portray so much on screen. I feel after joining this profession that I have changed as a person. The biggest thing I have noticed is that I am surrounded by people always. I observe people around me especially their body language.

Do you think it is essential for an actor to learning the craft of acting or can one gain the experience while on the job?
I feel every budding actor should first learn about acting, the history, skill from well known acting schools because it gives you so much scope to express yourself and understand the nuances of the craft. In my case, I would love to join an acting school to enrich myself. I feel lucky that with my first show, I am surrounded by so many experienced and talented people- especially my director -Siddharth sir. Everyone has been very motivating and helped me grow as an actor.

As Navya is a story about teenagers, do share some experiences about your teenage years?
I feel teenage is simply wonderful. One has grown up ? it is a journey from childhood to adulthood. It is an age where you figure out yourself and evolve as a person. I stayed in Varanasi till my seventh standard and later we all shifted to Mumbai. I remember my gang of friends used to bunk lectures in college and we would go out for films. We loved sitting around faffing, eating chaat, having Frankies. We used to love participating in our college dance competitions. I feel teenage is the golden period for every girl and boy wherein you can enjoy your life to fulles

I admire my cousin Ragini Khanna aka Suhana of Sasural Genda Phool. I really like her expressions. She has a great comic timing as well.

Every girl has crush during school and college days and I remember I had crush on this one guy from our school. I was in standard 6th and didn't have the courage to talk to him. He was too cute. But today I don't even remember his name.

How do you pamper yourself?
I let my mom to pamper me and it begins with preparation of various dishes as I love eating. Moreover, I love to be at home, enjoying nature by sitting on my gallery window and just admiring nature.
What are your hobbies?
I enjoy painting, chit chatting on phone and cooking too. I can make some cool Chinese dishes.

Describe your ideal guy?
I haven't thought about my guy yet but playing Navya sometimes, I feel that my ideal guy should be like Anant. In fact, I want the same blossoming love of Navya and Anant as their love is so pure.
