Welcome to the land of one such great. The land of Naaga Adhipati: Mahabali Astika.

Hello one and all to the appreciation thread for one and only Nikitin Dheer.

In Mahabharata comes an unexplored chapter of Naagas. The sons of Sage Kashyap's second wife Kadru. The Naagas are both revered and feared for their knowledge of reviving the dead and healing what has been hurt. In this clan was born Astika. Astika is the son of Sage Jagatkaru and Mansa Devi. He is the grandson of Mahadev and nephew of Adi Shesha and Vaasuki.

When Arjuna in Mahabharata had married the Naaga Princess Uloopi, the then commander of Takshak had vouched to destroy the Human clans for defiling the Naaga lineage. He had entered the Kurukshetra to kill Arjun but was met with a massive defeated and then rescued by Astika who then appointed him as the undisputed ruler of the Naaga Clan.

Taking cues from a history long forgotten, Naagarjuna presents the tale of the war that was waged after the bloody battle of Kurukshetra for the all powerful Naagamani. This fabled piece of stone carries the power of universe. It can change the course of history as we know it and is known to bring back the dead and meddle with time.

Astika, the Mahabali of Naagalok had been asked to deliver it to Takshak for his sinister ploys against the humans. For the same he needed to beget a Ardha-Naaga son from a seer woman called Pranali. He bewitched her for the same. But his plans were foiled when Pranali cursed him and he mighty Vaasuki took away his Ardha-Naaga son and hid him away from his suspecting eyes for twenty years.

And now Astika is battle-ready to bring back that what had always been his. His son and the Naagamani.

Astika is born to Mansa Devi. His first wife is Takshak's daughter Mohini with whom he has a son Shankhchoorna. His second wife is a blessed mortal Pranali with whom he has a Ardha-Naaga son Arjun. His cordiality with Pranali is what irks Mohini and she hates both Pranali and her son.

Astika is played by Nikitin Dheer the son of Bollywood actor Pankaj Dheer. Nikitin. He made his debut with Ashutosh Gowarkar's Jodhaa Akbar as Shariffuddin and then went on to play various other roles panning from Bollywood to down South. He got married to Kratika Sengar in a private ceremony in 2013.
