But from few years this question is lingering in my mind and making me go wild, and guys pls it's no offence to any body and let it be the way.

Why do actors or actress over do there look and spend lots of money just for 3hrs award function?

As far as I know: it's an event. They get paid for it. Their clothes are probably sponsored (unless the actor wants to wear something of their own; like Sanaya Irani for SPA did a beautiful thing by wearing a gift sent to her by fans (which she couldn't receive but was received by Mohit Sehgal in her place) as a little something for her fans to thank them for their undying support). Same as Hollywood and Bollywood on a smaller scale. Basically: money, contact, the media presence, exposure and so much more. Mainly moolah. Not that's it's wrong. They need to cash as much as they can when they're relevant. So, yeah.
