In a relationship, I don't think it's necessary for both partners to know how to cook. If one does the cooking, the other could take care of another chore such as a cleaning. Since Ripu is such a wonderful chef, I don't think it's a big deal that Shivangi doesn't know how to cook, because Ripu is there to take care of their culinary needs. If neither knew how to cook that could be a problem, but that's not the case in Ripu-Shivangi's relationship.
Btw, I don't think it's very nice to use the words stupid or challenged against someone, because everyone has their strengths and weaknesses and cooking is Shivangi's weakness, just as knitting or drawing may someone else's. That doesn't make her stupid.

She can make a sandwich? WOW. Like literally, i think a 5 years old can make a sandwich for themselves too. If she never knew how to make a sandwich, there would be a serious cause for concern.

Yeah, i agree she is lucky to find a guy like Ripu whose passion is to cook, however i think it is necessary for EVERYONE to able to cook enough so that they can look after themselves and not be so dependent on others. I don't think not knowing how to knit or drawing is as crucial a skill as cooking.

Concerning your last paragraph, if Shivangi ever finds herself in situation in which she is alone (which I really hope never happens, I'm just saying) I'm sure she will get by. I don't think you need to be worried for her.

I don't think tea or rajma are the basics of survival. I didn't know how to make tea until a few years ago. It's just something my mom and sister always did, plus I use tea powder and not tea leaves. I don't even know if that's the same thing. I really don't think I'm challenged and neither is Shivangi.

To improve your general knowledge there are 12 necessitates of life, and eating is one of them - you can act disabled and depend on someone else for the rest of your life to cook for you so you maintain your necessity of life = in this case Shivangi being dependent on ripu /parents / maids etc.

You can defend Shivangi if you like, but the truth remains, she is stupid.

Okay, this thread has gone way out of hand.
Mods can close it if they like. I think everyone has said pretty much whatever they want.

TBH, I couldn't care less what Shivangi can or can't do. Her stupidity is what made me come here, otherwise i rarely watch this show, forget posting here.

Wait are you trying to say Shivangi doesn't know how to eat?

Yes, this thread is getting out of hand. You have your POV and I have mine.

I would also like to randomly point out that Shivangi said by washing the beans with "soap" she meant did you just have to wash them normally or in some special way.

I didn't think I would be talking about this in NB forum 😆

You wash beans with water, or any other fruits/vegetables with water. What else do you use? Washing powder to wash beans? 😆

I bet even the queen knows the ABCD of cooking.. but our slowShivangi, struggles with basic knowledge. Id be surprised if she knew how to make maggies.. how do you make maggie? errr do you put in milk? 😆

The fact that you are using the word stupid upsets me. Please take into consideration that Shivangi is a real person with feelings. These words should never be used to judge a person because I just find them demeaning and hurtful. There is nothing wrong with the fact that she can't cook and maybe she might be learning. Like everything else cooking is a skill as well.. its not something that can come really easily and its not something that everyone can adapt to. Just because someone can't cook doesn't make it okay for someone to judge them

How will she eat, if there is no one there to cook for her? It is disgusting, shameful to see a grown up woman like being proud of her non existence cooking skills.
