I was going to make a topic about this. Didn't anyone else feel sorry for Shivangi? She looked soo lost and upset. She was put on the spot and made a fool of on tv. I mean Shilpa even made it seem like Shivangi is incompetent. Ripu was laughing as well but he put his arm around her so that she wouldn't feel too stupid.
That was really unfair of them to do that. She laughed it off in the end but still she must have been upset.

First it was said that a woman is supposed to stay in the kitchen and now when this stereotype is fading away and more men are becoming chefs it still expected of a woman to cook.

I don't know how to cook. The only things I can make is tea and spaghetti bolognese and even then it always goes wrong somehow. I still drink my tea and eat my spaghetti but it always tastes different.
I want to learn but I think my mum knows I won't be able to do it and when I do try she takes over 😛
To be honest when I get married all the chores that have to be done will have to be shared 50/50. I'm not gonna be the one at home doing all the cleaning and cooking.

I will admit that my mum still makes food for me and I'm 19. She make dinner for everyone but breakfast and lunch she makes it for me. Some people just can't do it. And Shivangi works what would be a 9 to 5 job, which means she doesn't have much time to learn how to cook.

The person in their relationship who will do all the cooking is obviously Ripu so why should Shivangi be ridiculed for not knowing how to cook. Men aren't made fun out of for not being able to cook.
It's intimidating that her boyfriend is a chef and he loves to cook so what's the problem.

I know right..I felt sorry for Shivangi, and Ripu as well..He was laughing, but I'm sure he felt bad that his girl friend was being ridiculed for not knowing how to cook,on the national TV..But,I guess,he didn't have any other option at that point other than laughing it off..It wouldn't have looked good if started defending her..But,as u said,he put his arm around her,n that was an assuarance for her..I'm really proud to be Ripu - Shivangi's fan..They r the youngest couple on the show, just 22 n 23 yrs old,but still they handled the situation with maturity...

Thanks for your replies guys! :)
I agree with everyone. That Rajma segment looked totally scripted. No one is that ignorant to think that food should be washed with soap. The tea segment yesterday did not look scripted, because Shivangi was genuinely confused and hid her hurt from everyone. Even Ripu was upset and looked like he wanted to defend Shivangi, but he did not want to make a scene in front of the camera. The way he held her reassuringly was so sweet. He is a true life partner for Shivangi. They both complement each other so well. ❤️
Being a woman, it was shocking to see Shilpa making digs at Shivangi for not knowing how to make tea. I would have expected her to show more empathy for a fellow woman. I don't know how much of this show is scripted, but some segments are not at all funny, though they may have been meant to be. Some of them are downright hurtful to the contestants. Poor Shivangi! 😔

Its a dance show, not Masterchef or any other cooking show. They're asking for votes for their dancing not cooking so if those people dont know better then thats their problem. Dont worry dear :)

I am not even sure why anybody's cooking skills or lack of are being discussed on a dance show.

Does one need any proof that this show seems very unfocussed ? It appears that judges make up games as they please- and make comments about contestants as they please - all in the name of humour and entertainment.

I am disappointed in Shilpa- thought she was sensible and sensitive.

...and yes,
cooking skills are no longer crucial to a woman's identity.
We are in the 21st Century for crying out loud!

Am I the only who felt that it was scripted? I don't think Shivangani is that ditsy that she doesn't know tea bags are used to make tea. It's common sense. I don't think the whole pulling her leg about it is funny if that is what they are trying to make out of it. Who cares if a girl doesn't know how to cook. The ironic thing is that most of the top renowned chefs around the world are males not females.
