It could have happened this way!

You know even if for angst and drama and to show Avni fighting again alone, I would have overlooked the custody drama with hope for Neil after to realise that even though he wants to catch up with the time he lost with his kid, he can't do it at the expense of Avni not being there as it would be neither good for his Avni whom he loves and wouldn't like to see hurting nor the kid who would need his mom, so for me this custody would have worked wonders if Mithali wasn't there.

It could have played this way : No proposal at all, no Mithali angle, seeda Neil helping her to find Mowgli after the latter came to know Avni is his mom and then Mowgli insisting on visiting Khannas and then falling and calling her mama and truth out, Neil lashes out at her for hiding the truth and not telling him, and it would have been actually good had they made Avni actually think seriously of telling him about Mowgli being his kid and waiting for the right time, and then Neil thinking she wanted to keep the kid away from him forever hence going the legal way as he wouldn't want to see her run away with the kid again since she does that running away game often so he would want the kid to live with him. Then show him soften from time to time in the court yet going ahead with full custody and then play the episodes of monday and tuesday where he starts to melt significantly, make him win the case and want to talk to her to give her back the custody but for some reason he can't (for example just the moment he wanted to go to talk to her she goes inside the lawyer's car and he can't catch her and then make Mithali have a serious accident and him being compelled to visit her in the hospital as a friend (since they want to show Mithali's face) and hence postponing the talk to Avni till the night but at night it's too late. Let him wait till the morning, so as CVs are sadists they can show Avni's breakdown as she lost her kid too and then make Neil talk to the kid in the house during the night feeling more that both mom and kid need each other and he can't see his Avni suffer and Mowgli. The next day, he can take Mowgli to stay with his mom and keep visiting him there creating more close moments between AvNeil and Dad-son bonding which we couldn't see and family bonding with Avni and Neil both taking care of him yet being highly drawn and smitten by each other but no one of them has the courage yet to tell it.

After that make Kamini strike back again and kidnap the kid, Neil and Avni as partners going to his rescue and fighting together against Kamini's goons and then Avni seeing Mowgli in danger, she runs to him, Neil sees the same but he also sees someone pointing a gun at Avni too, Neil runs and jumps saving both his Avni and Mowgli shielding both, Avni shielding Mowgli and Neil shielding both and getting shot by a bullet. DD whom Neil informed beforehand comes there arrests Kamini and Neil once again is rushed to the hospital, Avni praying for him and realising that she should have never hidden the truth from him, that she should have listened when he said decisions are taken together and that she should have never deprived her son from his dad, that maybe they could have found a solution together against Vidyut, she can plead him to come back to her as both Avni and Mowgli want him in their lives and want their happy family.

Neil gains consciousness, bone crushing hug to his Avni with kisses, from both sides, they both express how they wasted time, apologising to each other. After a month we can be shown a unique proposal from Neil through Radio this time (I would also imagine him getting back his job as police officer by some creative liberty after helping in saving Mowgli and eventually some other kids from child trafficking), Avni accepting Neil's proposal, Neil saying their first wedding was dokhe se, the second they spoiled it for their mission goa but this third one will be memorable as they will have all rasams, Avni can wear the red lehenga Neela ma gave her. We can get the last two episodes of the show with full moments of AvNeil's grand wedding, and everyone happy, a second SR, where Mowgli would have tried to create hindrance but Shweta takes him away (that for comic relied) then SR for 5minutes this time kind of different and a morning after. Then another scene where few months later Avni says she is pregnant, they can show in a sequence of 3minutes with a song how Neil takes care of a pregnant Avni and then delivery and the last scene of the show would be a naamkaran ceremony of pilli with a small speech of AvNeil about the perfect family Avni finally got and deserves and that an illegitimate person can also be happy and can have her own identity yet have people whom she loves by her side, who support her and then three pictures, one of entire khandan, second of AvNeil with pillu & pilli and last one of AvNeil only.

Believe me all the above is feasable in the episodes they wasted and all these things garner trps, they would have gotten their social message and given fans what they wanted without spoiling Neil/Avni or AvNeil

- U would get the illegitimacy issue again because of Avni being attacked in the court by Neil's lawyer
- Neil apologizing and spending time with her and melting
- Next day Avni giving her speech int he court of illegitimacy and how she knows how to love and can be a good mother, Neil melting totally
- Neil wanting to give her back the custody but she leaves from there and gets into the car and then accident of Mithali so we can see Avni breaking down (since CVs are sadists) thinking she lost her kid too yet thinking of carrying on with her orphanage matters ( so u get strong Avni who can survive everything)
- Neil feeling the needs of his kid at night, feeling that not only his Avni needs Mowgli to be happy but his son also needs his mom
- We get Neil taking back the kid to his mom and an episode or two where Neil bonds with his son and comes closer to his Avni
- AvNeil wanting to tell each other that they want to be together but then kidnapping of Mowgli happens, Avni shielding her son and Neil shielding them both
- U get Neil at the hospital (these tracks get trps though anyways show was ending) and Avni realising her mistakes totally and being more adamant on giving her son his happy family and getting back her husband too
- AvNeil coming back together and their shaadi, the costumes/outfits wasted on Mithali could have been given to Avni and they could have showed her happy in all her wedding functions with romance with Neil
- A second SR with a morning after and a pregnancy sequence for NK fans and for AvNeil since they didn't live these things together, where we see how Neil taking care of Avni and we could see Neil's reaction on being a father again, believe me it's feasable in 4minutes with a song and just shots of how he gives her to eat, how he touches her belly to sense the kid etc etc...
- A naamkaran ceremony with a speech of Avni so what if she didn't get a naamkaran her kids got it and she is happy even being illegitimate with people who love her for who she is!

Everyone would have been happy and no added cost for PH, social message would stay intact and Neil and AvNeil would be epic forever with total growth of characters and strength and they would be happy and fans too would have gotten all the things they dreamt of for AvNeil and they could never get since so many months

Neil never looked beyond his angry he was seen effected by broken Avni but did nothing the very next moment he ran to mitali giving her all sorts of promises he never thought about the effects of this custody battle on his son this whole mitali angle was not needed at all it did nothing but spoiled the Neil Khanna we know

Well new CVs tampered with both characters, they never made Avni fight for her husband and Avni would have never hidden the truth of having a kid or raising him as an orphan, I know now the sympathy is more towards Avni as they showed her pain and there is also her painful past, but we can't ignore that CVs did a lot of things with her character too, it's just that usually with Avni we overlook things generally justifying them with the past while Neil usually is very sorted and he usually doesn't take decisions in a fit of anger and even if he feels he did some wrong he rectifies it quickly and he also loves his Avni and can never see her in pain. But I guess since it's Avni's journey, CVs focused on her only and they didn't care about other characters including Neil this time, they wanted to show how she can fight against all odds alone and rise even when she loses all her loved ones, but they failed to portray the growth in the character by making her actually believe that yes she deserves and can be happy and she should go and grab her happiness by fighting for her son's happiness and her husband.

Anyways the post is not to bash characters I don't want anyone of them to be bashed, it hurts us, I was just trying to share a vision of a parallel universe where things could have been better 😊

Trust me I am not taking any sides because I never supported Avni till the time the whole Mitali angle came into pictures
And even after he proposed mitali I thought both were a fault equally but the moment he got to know about Mowgli and decided to go ahead with the engagement is when I lost my connection with Neil and what happened after that has only made is worse
We could not see our sharp Acp Neil Khanna and that's my complain we couldn't see AvNeil working for this relationship


Only thing I understood was
Avni did her share of mistakes and cvs couldn't justify it hence they did more damage to Neil so that Audiences forget her mistakes and cvs don't have to justify anything

yes the worst thing for me is the Mithali angle, as AvNeil are end game so there should be no teesra in between.

Anyways I don't actually want to delve into who was at fault and who wasn't or who was more or less, as I said since the new CVs joined in they only cared about drama and their vision and I doubt they really studied who the characters were

From last 6-7 months there's always been a teesra in the story pata nahi inki creativity ko zang lagaya hai shayed pati patni aur woh ke aage soch hi nahi sake 🤢

By the way I still maintain that since the time new CVs joined in we should have stopped trying to make sense of characters. This post just translates my wishful thinking ki even with their new vision new CVs could have kept our characters intact as majority of us while we have no problem with the social message, fact remains that we love AvNeil more

Agreed I kinda did this to some extent but I always said Forum writers are more intelligent and creative than the current ones

Bas aas ban ke reh gaye ! Adhoora Alvida dekar show off ho gaya . Your idea is great. Even if there was Mitali angle it would have been good if Neil had broke the engagement as he started to feel Avni's void . But writers took so much pain in undoing every feature that made AvNeil unique by making them a hollow shell of what they were
