Even though I have tried hard to not watch NK and go through a deaddiction it's been impossible to not relapse. The show and characters- once you get attached to them and invest in them it's hard to just let go no matter how much you know that it's all fiction. It's not meant to be taken seriously. But when you invest time to watch a show you can't help but care what happens to to our much loved characters. That's why it's so heartbreaking to watch Neil mitali. I can watch angry Neil, indifferent Neil, hurt Neil...he has many reasons to be pissed off at avni. Ok he's asking for custody because he was kept in the dark about his son. But why are they shoving so much Neil mitali down our throats. As it is the proposal scene in hospital was so difficult to watch but it's getting worse everyday. Yesterday Neil is making promises to mitali about their life ahead and hugging her, today he's talking about his child and mitali is promising to never let Mowgli feel the absence of Mowgli's mother?! Like what is going on?! Even the lawyer is using it as an argument in court...that Neil will remarry and Mowgli can get a full family! Its a whole new level of cringeworthy and plain depressing to watch. These scenes were completely uncalled for. From the olvs it's clear that even if there's a "happy" ending , Neil mitali are in wedding outfits...so basically he is almost marrying her. Why?! Why is that necessary? Why couldn't they just let it go like the many other plot points and characters which were forgotten?! After showing a few Avneil moments where Neil repents his lawyers words and he sees how much she still cares for him and he is starting to melt and miss avni they give us this! Even if he was still upset and angry with avni and not wanting to reconcile, there is no need to show us engagement and wedding and preparation for all that. I mean which person who's in the middle of a divorce case, custody battle after finding out about a 9 year old son will have the time, energy, inclination to plan a wedding in the middle of it. What's the rush? Propose kardiya na...they should have left it at that. I am so disturbed reading and watching this crapfest. Who cares if the ending is happy anymore, they have ruined the essence of the characters and show to the point of no return. It's just too depressing. I'm almost in tears right now and I hate the fact that I'm so affected by a stupid tv show. I've never been more embarrassed. I'm sitting crying hoarse about what should have happened but the show makers and CVs are blissfully unaware and just doing whatever the heck they want! Fans have been writing letters, requesting extension...for what?! Do people really want to watch more of this? The negativity, MU, sadness is just never ending...atleast earlier Avneil were together, now even they aren't together. And simply having them hug it out after Neils current scenes with mitali where he is planning a life with her, a family with his and avnis child but with mitali as the mother...it just sickens me! Ya in reality there are many divorced parents who remarry and the child has a step-parent or the parent may remarry after the death of the spouse ..but that's different. Simply because that's not the focus of this show. This is avnis story, a story of her love, her soulmate...so I will not buy the argument that the show makers are trying to be "real" with the show. If that was the case, they should have shown avni and Neil get joint custody and actually have the balls to show Neil mitali marriage. Even they know that the USP of this show is avni and Neils eternal love story, their soulmate connection...so why are they hell bent on ruining it?! My emotions are high right now...I'm sad, angry, disappointed all at once. I fail to understand why they couldn't use the time they have to take the show to a nice logical conclusion tying up all loose ends instead of this current BS track with a last minute rushed reunion. I certainly did not sign up for this as a viewer. I want to say that I feel cheated but I guess I have only myself to blame for watching and investing in a TV soap.

See I hate this 10 year leap story for this reason. The promos made it look good, but then they wrecked it by bringing in the kk-saesha twist, and from then it all went downhill. It was meant to be a do-over for NK but then they were going to ruin it anyway with teen preg track, and when viewers rejected that, they went for this mitali-neil track. Also this entire custody case has mostly just given the message that a single woman has no chance at winning a custody case. The argument to win is always that the kid needs his whole family to be happy, yet mowgli has clearly shown he only needs and wants him mother, but the court didn't even bother to ask mowgli and just went along with the parents claiming who is right for the kid, and who needs compensation in terms of making up for lost time with the child (neil). Like seriously? The kid isn't a box of celebrations that needs to be shared equally between two people, or become a means of compensation (remember that this was neil's stupid argument in court).

Sorry to compare, but Ekta via YHM showed the cutody case better and more sensitively as the child's emotions were given first precedence and ruhi was actually asked by the judge on two different occasions (one in the court, and one alone by the judge to find out whether anybody had pressured or brainwashed her, which shagun and ashok had done to get her custody), but this has been appalling. I feel terrible for avni and mowgli, not neil.

Ya I don't understand why Mowgli wasn't asked. He's 9 years old- he should have a say in the matter. And I don't agree that prakash hasn't been ruined. He blew the chance he got to speak his mind. If his love for Neil, his son stopped him from even making a statement then there's no point crying later. At least he could have said something like bebe. Why was he not shown talking to Neil once before the judgement also about slowing down and taking some more time...and why could they not share custody. If the court is appreciating avnis sangharsh and her parvarish why does she need to take permission and meet her son once a week. Why didn't they add a clause that Mowgli would live alternate months with each parent or something like that?! But what I find most difficult to digest is the mitali angle...sickens me. Enough with the third person. Is this really how life works...is there a 3rd person waiting to swoop in? If they really wanted to keep it realistic they should have shown mitali backing off and postponing the wedding till the custodyy case was over. not having wedding planning and engagement parties in the midst of it all. Such pointless dialogues for mitali...she herself states that Neil hasnt moved on and then she just disregards it.so so disheartening and disappointing. I'm just incredibly upset .

In every divorce case, a child's opinion counts. The writer must be illeterate on the legal issues of a child custody. If Moghuli was asked for an opinion, he would have said he wants his mom and then the judge would have to consider the mental state of the child and might revise the judgement for joint custody so the dad gets to know the child without completely uprooting the child's mental state. It is poor story telling. Don't know who the new story teller is but this is sloppy writing.

NK had a beautiful theme and beautiful tracks that went down hill due to poor story telling. We have better story tellers in our forum.

The main problem with writer was to garner sympathy for Avni ,which post leap was given as Neil "pain was shown ,not Avni ,so they made Neil vs Avni and brought Neil _mitali angle ,so all sympathy will go to her ,and Neil becomes the stereo type ml

I completely agree with u on this.!!!

If we go legally or logically, The child has to be asked.! Child's wish is always given the prime importance and rest all issues are sidelined, esp in a custody case.!

And here toh child is 9 yr of understanding age.!

Also it wasnt like Avni is posing some hinderance between Father-son duo, She is ohlay with them meeting bonding and enjoying.! But atleast For Mowgli's sake, His Wish should have been atleast asked once.!

I agree that This track was Better dealt with in YHM.!!!!

Unfortunately there are plenty of women like Mithali who doesn't care that the guy is still in love with someone. They are ready to use emotional blackmail just like what Mithali did to bind and hold the guy. If there are stupid guys like Neil who cannot think for themselves and figure out what they actually want, you cannot blame women like Mithali who are ready to pounce at the guy, the minute they find the smallest loophole.

yes I agree with you. There was no need for the engagement and going right up to the Neil mitali wedding day when they still planned on uniting Avneil. Also what was the point of the subtle romantic scenes between Mithali and Neil..if they planned in Neil marrying Mitali those scenes were fine but now it just gives us a sour taste.

The only reason why avni initially ket mowgli away from neil after he found out she was alive was because of his hatred for her, and her fear that in his anger and hatred he would snatch mowgli from her, which he did. But if neil had instead demanded that avni let him spend time with his child to make up for lost time and demanded some kind of arrangement with her in regards to Mowgli, then avni would have had no reason to refuse as neil would have assured her he won't do injustice by taking mowgli and avni away from one another, but he wants to make up for lost time with his son. This was all done just to demonise neil to justify the drama they played out in court.😡 This is such a mockery of the law and a child-mother's emotions. They even made it out that avni can't have mowgli as she is a single mother where neil can give him a whole family.

What would have been good is if avni had brought up in court about her fears in regards to mithali, bringing up what mithali had done when she found out avni was alive out of insecurity so she could get neil, and that if she can do that how will she give avni's son the love of a mother and treat him justly? Avni's lawyer could have pointed out how ayesha and neela's relationship was, and how neela was with avni, and compare it to what mitali did to avni and how mitali can't be like neela and would be a typical step mother.

Icing on the cake would be avni saying once mitali has her own kids with neil, what would happen to mowgli? Neil could have been interrogated by avni's lawyer to prove what avni said about mitali's actions to be true, and said that if neil can forgive mitali and even marry her after she did such a big conspiracy against his ex-wife, then how can you trust her to treat your son right, and how can we all trust that you won't turn a blind eye to her actions against your son and forgive her like you forgave her for what she did to your ex-wife? This would not be character assassination like what happened with avni, as these would be concrete facts against mitali and avni would be voicing justifiable fears in regards to mitali.

@sammy very valid points there. But the writers clearly don't want to exercise their grey cells even a little. They merely want the audience to sympathize with avni by making Neil into the villain...first everyone felt for Neil, now for avni and finally they should just be happy with a hug and imagine a happily ever after. Every single track that they have executed since chuhi has only got worse in terms of writing, research and creativity. Each had potential that was squandered away. This custody track is thankfully the last in the list of poorly executed tracks. Do not understand why they cant write a better screenplay even within the limitations of a daily soap. Forum members consistently have much better ideas than them...
