If you don't mind me saying...I didn't like the line about how he's the man and he should protect her. I know what you mean its a programmed thought that men don't cry, men protect women, etc etc...I had a similar thought explored in my fanfic coincidentally- it was a fleeting mention Like in urs.But I hopethat Neil realises that showing his weaknesses to his wife doesn't make him less of a man.And avni reassures him that no matter what his issues are she loves him. She's not just with him for sympathy. And it's because she loves him despite his issues that she wants him to reciprocate...and also why she's hesitant about coming out and admitting to him that she has felt neglected by him because she probably doesn't want to hurt him. She has seen his care and love but his lack of expression has made her second guess it..
