Part One-

Avni turned on her side to face her husband, the multimillionaire Neil Khanna. He looked so serene, so peaceful as he slept, absent mindedly she lifted her hand and placed it on his bearded cheek.
How she loved him, adored him.

He was the silent type, didn't speak a lot or confess his love for her, though they had been together for nearly three years. But, she believed he loved her, although he was a distant man, it was in their shared silence that she felt most at home, it was their comfortable silence she cherished the most.

Avni pulled her hand to his chest, she recalled the first time she had felt those hasty beats against her hand, it was the first time they had met. When the Mehta's and Khanna's decided on arranging their marriage.

Neil sauntered towards Avni, her back was turned away from him, but she could feel his presence there. "So, you're a dancer, how exotic"
Although she had known he was there, it still made her jump.
She turned around slowly and nodded.
"I want you Avni" she gulped, the things his voice alone could do to her was frightening
"Well, you can't have me"
He chuckled, stroking his beard "Oh, I already do"

He was right, there was something about Neil that had pulled her in at that very moment, it continued to pull her in now she sat by his side as he slept.
She bent down, pressing her lips to his, his eyes shot open making her jump back, he grabbed her waist to steady her and his eyes lit with humour.
"Now, that is my faviourate way to wake up"

Avni pulled back ever so slightly and allowed him to get up, he hated being late and she had a tendency to get carried away when she was to close to him for to long.
Neil sat up, putting his legs on the side of the bed and stretched his arms out, the muscles on his back stretched as he pushed his hands down either side of him and stood up

Avni knew now that she wouldn't see Neil until after work, which usually tended to be after midnight, she sighed heavily and went to get ready for the day.
Neil passed her quickly, rushing to get ready, often she wished Neil would pay her as much attention as he did his work but she would never tell him that
Then with a kiss to her cheek, he was gone.

Avni sat infront of Sunheri, unable to focus on what Sunheri was saying. Her thoughts completley with Neil.
Sunheri clapped her hands making Avni jolt up straight with a befuddled expression on her face
"Everyday I see you this way Avni, you may love him but you're not happy"
Avni gulped painfully "I am happy"
Sunheri raised her brow "Then why dont you smile or laugh anymore, when does Neil ever give you time, its been three years Avni, wake up"

Avni looked away "He does love me, I know he does"
"Do you, or do you just want him to love you, every dance rehearsal, every dance performance, he is never there"
Avni looked taken aback by Sunheri's tone
"Well, thats because I dont tell him when they are"
"Why not, you always go to his fancy parties"
"Because he's busy" Avni retorted
"And what, you're not, what are you so afraid of Avni"

Sunheri sat back waiting for an answer, when it hit her
"My god, you're afraid he doesnt love you aren't you"
Avni swallowed painfully "This conversation is over" she stood up and walked out, ignoring Sunheri's calls for her to come back
Avni sat down on a bench, she looked up at Neil's huge building where he worked.

He loved her, he had to love her. Because if he didnt, well then she had no idea what to do.
Without realising where her feet were taking her, she stood up and walked towards his office.
Avni finally arrived on the top floor, she walked slowly towards the front desk
"I want to see Neil please"

The man shook his head without looking up "Mr Khanna is busy right now"
Avni slammed her hand down angrily making him look up "I said, I want to see Neil please"
The mans eyes widened "Oh, Mrs Khanna, im so sorry, I will go get him right now"
Avni placed her hand on the desk, she had never came to Neil's office before, she had no idea why she even came or what she was trying to prove.

Neil walked forward from his office, pushing his hair back "Avni, what are you doing here"
Avni suddenly felt a lot calmer, she stretched her hand out and took his
Neil stepped closer "Has someone upsett you, is that why you're here"
Avni shook her head "I just wanted to see you"
Neil sighed "Avni, I have a lot of work to do right now, you know you'll see me later, when I get home"

Avni nodded solemnly "Yeah, have a good day" she kissed his cheek and walked away
Avni pressed the button for the lift quickly, her eyes filling with tears that she did not want Neil to see
The lift opened and she stepped in quickly, turning around she saw Neil was still looking at her with a worried expression on his face

Neil walked in at 1:15am, he shut the door and walked into the living room to see Avni was not there. She always waited up for him, but for some reason she didnt tonight
He stepped into the bedroom to see she had already fallen asleep.
He went to get changed, ignoring his dinner on the table, he climbed into bed

"Why do I feel like i'm losing you Avni" he whispered

Neil awoke to see Avni had already woken up, he stretched out his hand to feel the sheets beside him were freezing cold, he looked at the clock- 6am. Where was she?
He got up slowly, walking towards the living room when his eyes fell on her sitting on the balcony

Her knees were up to her chest, a dark red shawl covered her arms and she had a cup in her hand
"Avni, why are you awake so early"
She turned her head around slowly "Couldn't sleep, breakfast is on the kitchen side"
Neil furrowed his brows and walked over to her "Why couldn't you sleep"

Avni pulled herself up slowly, placing the cup down "Just one of those nights"
"Did you want to talk about whatever the real reason was that you came to my office"
Avni looked up stunned, he knew her so well.
She wrapped her arms around his waist tightly, Neil raised one hand, resting it on her head, the other wrapped around her waist, then rose up rubbing her back slowly

Avni gripped onto his waist tightly, she felt stupid for ever doubting his love, he knew her better than anyone. She didnt need him to tell her he loved her, she knew.
Neil pulled back and walked to the kitchen to get his breakfast
He walked back up to Avni and held the plate out to her
"But, this is yours"
Neil shook his head "Ill get some at work, I have to get ready or I will be late"

Avni fell into her chair, sighing heavily.
Everytime she felt she was getting close, he just shut down again.
She looked up at Neil who was walking out of the room, placed the plate down and walked back outside again.

Neil arrived home at 11pm, he unlocked the door to see all the lights off.
"Avni" he called
He looked in the living room and then in the bedroom, his heart raced when he couldn't find her.
He grabbed his phone, calling her.
"Please leave a message" he swore under his breath at the beep tone
"Avni, call me back when you get this"

Neil jumped in his car, driving towards the dance academy.
He parked quickly and ran inside towards the lit up room
He stopped at the open door, taken aback by Avni dancing, he had only ever seen her dance once, but he had never forgotten the passion in her eyes as she did
He stepped closer, grabbed her wrist and span her around so her chest hit his
"Neil"
He put his finger on her lips

"Lets go home" he put an arm under her waist, the other under her knees
"But, I need to rehearse"
"Avni, its late"
"So, you work till late" she retorted
"Thats different"
"How, look Neil, just put me down"
Neil put her down slowly "Look Avni, im tired, please can we just go home"
Her heart clenched painfully, all she wanted was to be in his arms, to go home and sleep by his side

But Sunheri's words constantly echoed in her head, although she didnt want to admit it out loud, it was true.
She was scared he didnt love her, they went days without talking and she understood he was a silent man but it often left her feeling lonely.
They hadn't even been intimate, it had been nearly three years of marriage but she still felt like she was pleading for him to love her.

"You can go home if you like, Im gonna stay for a bit longer" Avni replied, looking down
Neil cleared his throat "Well I guess thats fine, just let me know where you are next time"
Avni looked up "But you go away on business trips and dont tell me until I call you"
Neil shrugged "Guess I forget"
"Forget" she replied, painfully "Im your wife, how do you forget"

"I didnt mean it like that, look lets just go home"
"You never want to discuss anything, ever, you get up at 6am, sometimes earlier, then you dont get back until 11pm or later, you go on business trips, and you don't tell me, all I ask is for some of your time, its been three years and I never complain, now the one time I want to talk, you say you want to go home, what home, the house we live in, because it takes two people to make a house a home, you're never in it to help with that"

Neil looked down at Avni, speechless "You seem stressed, this isnt you Avni"
"No, its not me, im like this because of you, of course im stressed, you won't even kiss me, what is it, am I not attractive to you"
"Avni, look, ive been working all day, im tired, we can have this conversation another day"
He turned on his heel, walking away, he stopped at the door when he heard her sniff

He turned his head over his shoulder, he sighed heavily
"Avni"
She shook her head "Just go Neil, run away back to work, like you always do"
Neil turned back around and walked away, Avni fell to her knees slowly and dropped her head
