He never really saw her, he just looked.
Sure he saw her beauty, her dark silky locks, her pink plump lips and her chocolate orbs but he didnt see any deeper then the outside.
He didnt see the heart that would stop beating for him, he didnt see the breaths taken for him, every breath of hers was done so he could breathe freely every day.
He knew as he sat down, all those years later, sipping on his rum, twirling it around the glass that he was the storm in her life, yet she was the sunset, always there, always shining even in his darkness.
Closing his eyes he remembered the day, just like it was yesterday, every moment, every touch, every word spoken.
Avni smiled, today was her two year anniversary with the man she loved the most.
Sitting at the table of the first place they had met, she looked at the bangles he had gifted adorned on her wrists
A small smile lit up her face , looking at her watch she frowned, he still hadn't arrived yet, where was he?
People were starting to stare now, throwing sympathy and pity her way.
Like they knew, that whoever she was waiting for wouldnt turn up
Standing up, she saw him walk up, dressed in a jeans and t-shirt.
Hung tight on his chest
All at once, water was thrown in her face
"Were over, you're not good enough for me, nothing more than a f**k is what I wanted off you, 2 years later and I still haven't got it"
Avni looked around at the now laughing faces, wiping her eyes she ran past him
Never to see him again.
Opening his eyes, he slammed his glass down.
He had made many a mistake since he let Avni walk out of his life.
One stupid stupid want of his had broken down the strongest love anyone ever had for him
A knock on his door alerted him
"Sir, shes here for the interview"
Nodding he downed the rest of his drink and stood up.
