N regarding this dcp thing .The first posting after completing training approx of 2 years as acp/asp .After that till 5 years u remain in this position .Then u become SP.n den after 9 years you become DCP .I hope m clear

fans have started making big fuss about trivial things.

Just for everyone's info, when people become IPS, their first post is ACP and after that the second post is DCP.

so DCP is not a very high post. it is just the second from the bottom.

Usually after 7-9 years of service people can become a DCP.

in defense of Neil, he went into IPS right after juhi got kidnapped. and since he met Avni it is now at least 2 years.

So he has completed nearly 5-7 years of service. So going from ACP to DCP is not unthinkable or improbable.

Also as police officer he is not just involved in his wife's or family cases, even though the CVs have us believe that. In fact he probably does a lot more things for the general public.

However what i get the feeling is that people in general hate Neil and Zain and therefore have started making fuss about everything related to him.

This is the position of IPS

the DSP is what is DCP and ASP is ACP. Its just that DSP/DCP is the first permanent position right after ASP/ACP

WOW this is confusing, so technically neil isn't really a high ranking police officer, but is more on a lower level in the ranks?

Yes Neil is just at the first level of IPS posts.

that is why he does all the basic work. that is why he was asked to provide security to Vidyut.

However Neil must be in service for nearly 5-7 years.

He is a lot more senior among the ACPs

So now he is in line to being permanent in his position and next step would be DCP

DD is just a sub-inspector. he is not an IPS officer.

Also these post names can vary a little bit from state to state

like ACP vs ASP or DCP vs DSP and minor variations in the hierarchy of the posts
