Dragon Ji agree with you! You know I have said this even at the start of the Kid track that this Blase reaction from the family was not something I was finding easy to digest. Only Shweta apologized to Neela for her son being a Bin Bihai Baap and that too when she didnt know Neil was listening. Now recently Neela told Shweta that these days "Shadi se pehele bhi ladka ladki" and said that Neil himself admitted to her that he and Chuhi...etc. The reaction of Shweta "Satyanash Tillu!" LOL
Even I dont understand how Ratty and Neil are "Victims" if they had too much to drink, had sex and had a kid before they got married. Koan sa Victim? The only victims here are Neil's wife who for no fault of her's had to be part of their Mahabarat and Mishti who for no fault of her's has to pay for being the product of pre-marital sex. Personally, I am not a prude and not saying people need to be married to have sex. BUT, I do firmly believe that people should not have children without marriage and that too in a society that does not accept children of unwed parents! I live in a western society and even here, if a woman is single and has a child (Not a divorcee) but without a husband or long-term partner, people are not as nice about it. Here some people have long-term live in partner's who are considered as a spouse. So they don't have the same stigma. But still, there are some conservative people who like their kids to "Get married" even if they live together before having kids. Such is society, in general, be it eastern or western. In the East Unwed parents are even less accepted. Kids of such parents get looked down on. So Avni is right, she knows the pain of that. Child suffers for mistakes of others.
Here, Neil has made a Grave mistake at a young age, (21 or 22) and he has not been once questioned by his family members about it. How real is this? No matter how progressive I am, if one day my son does this (even though that would be even more in the future, so we should be even more modern), but still Ek kaan ke niche milega usse! Because the way we were brought up was you don't become an unwed mother or father. That was always a no-go zone. Being progressive and having No standards should Not be confused! They are not the same thing. Nayi soch is not giving up on the Soch that gave us the values we have. I dont think ANY child is illegitimate. But it is up to us to make sure we don't produce children who can be called names! That is not Purani soch, that is called having standards!
OK rant over! Now someone give our beautiful adorable Neil Ek kaan ke niche! Shweta Ji...aap ko hi karni padegi!
