She has always been a spineless, weak personality don't know whether counselling could have helped her.

But Khannas should never have allowed Neil's X,Y and Z to stay in their house. Don't know why their neighbours have not raised any objection stating that it setting wrong example for their children. In other shows we will always see neighbours poking their nose even if they are not required.
