While on their drive, Avni was still searching for answers in his eyes 'why was Neil Khanna like that'. All the men she had known till date were always expressive to show their love. But here there was another man who never showed how much he loved you by his words, but his actions had different story to tell.
On their way she tried to look into his eyes and he tried to avoid her. They were at the Neil's bachelor pad which was not so clean as per any girl standards.
Although, Neil had tried to maintain the hygenie of the place, but after marriage this was more like an office location for him where he would visit rarely when he needed solace to find an answer to his case files.
The bed was small for two people, and sofa had piled up files.Now,who would clean home at 1:27am at night? .Both were so tired that they landed on same bed, sleeping together without any questions being asked.
Neil woke up a little early at 5 and cleaned his room silently without disturbing his sleeping wife,silently admiring his Sleeping Beauty. Grocery was ordered for his small yet vacant kitchen. He realized a long shopping list as there were not enough food stuff to feed the expecting mother.
Four hours later, Avni woke up to find an immaculate room, all her and his clothes placed in cupboard, breakfast ready on kitchen platform, with a note " eat on time wifey".
The more Avni tried to dig deeper ,more hard it became for her to not fall for him. Neil was different from other men, she had came across in her life. Being a mills and boon avid reader she always believed that such male were mere fictional characters. Her own father had dismayed her mother, then how could she trust other males. But her Neil was different, with a second counter thought " Your Neil hunh, how do you know he belongs to you, how do you know that he loves you, how do you know that he wishes to have a family with you "
Before doing anything stupid, she needed to find an answer. The dinner was cooked by her as a thank you for her hubby. Both sat down to eat it. Neil didn't say a word on how the food tasted. He just gorbed the food and Avni needed no answer from him, looking at his hungry expression she understood that he loved the food.
But was she thinking too much, was she expecting too much from her husband. She needed to know " does Neil belong to her and what about the baby ".
Before she could speak up, he gifted her a pack xxl size night wear. Avni said "moti lagti hoon na mean tumhe, mera size M hai fir yeh xxl kyun? ".Neil replied " moti lagti Nahi par ho jaogi dhere dhere ", which was followed by their usual water fight with water being spilled on the floor , when Avni was about to slip but Neil tight hold failed to make her fall.She was in his arms safe and secure.
Bedding was done, Neil on sofa, Avni on bed. No arguments as Neil said. But how could Jerry sleep peacefully without teasing Tom. Avni put the pillow back to bed, when she asked him to sleep on bed with her. Neil could have avoided that, but he knew she needed a lot of pampering at this point so he agreed with some attitude.
Avni wanted to discuss with him their future, about the baby. Neil was tired from whole day work but this was important to both of them.
Avni: "Neil, thank you for standing up for me. Thank you for making me believe that there are few good men on earth too. "
Neil kept a finger on her lips and said " you don't need to speak anything. Your eyes spoke for what you wish to say. I was just performing my duties as your husband "
Avni :" Then why didn't you not speak a single word when they were speaking against me. "
Neil : "because I wanted to find who brought your truth out for I knew it was not you nor me. And I never talk without any proofs. Someone in my family, doesn't want you and I to live together. And, I will never let that happen.I will never leave you alone specially at this point of time. I wanted to give them that time and space to accept you as a part of our family until then you are my wife. "
Avni was more than happy to hear that and knew it was right time to discuss her next question : "Neil, I am pregnant with our baby, so do you ?"
Before she could speak further Neil was all over her and said " don't you try to do anything stupid with my baby. Yes I want it as much as you do. And don't ask me any foolish questions, I am tired and I wanna sleep "
Avni gradually removed her pillow and took his arms to sleep on that. Slowly, Neil also enveloped her in his embrace as they both slept peacefully as nobody needed any answers from each other for their actions spoke louder than words.
