Zakhm was also a Mahesh Bhatt film.Namkaran is inspired by Zakhm and both the movie and show is based on Mahesh Bhatt's life.
He was also an illegitimate child and I think even his father was related to movies. His mom was a muslim as was shown in Zakhm.
Thank you for sharing this - I was not aware of Zakhm being based on Bhatt's own upbringing. The fact that he is repeating the story line is an indicator of the deep impression his childhood had on him. This is possibly a therapeutic outlet for his repressed sentiments and feelings. I can see now why he views the love between Avni's parents with idealistic lenses

Yes every chapter of Mahesh Bhatt's life has had a long lasting and deep impression on him. Most of his work is based on his personal life...bw it Woh lamhe,Arth or Aashiqui.
From whatever I have know...I can see alot of Mahesh Bhatt's childhood in Naamkaran.I read an article where he mentioned that his dad never even took off his shoes whenever he came home.Although his parents weren't married his dad took care of all their expenses and he could see a deep bond between his parents.I can see that in Naamkaran too...how much Ashish loves Asha and Avni.I just hope that the love they have for each other remains the same.
Yes, I remember in Zakhm a young Kunal Khemu accusing his dad, played by Nagarjuna, of not taking off his shoes at home.I think Bhatt will make sure the bonding between Ashish, Asha and Avni stays strong. 😊

Yes and even Avni said that normal fathers take off their shoes and stay over night.Naamkaran will probably be a more detailed version of Mahesh Bhatt's childhood than Zakhm along witg carrying out its main concept that a girl doesn't need a father or husband's name to create and identity.
From whatever little we saw yesterday...I can make out that Ashish truly loves Asha and Avni but sometimes circumstaces force you to be away from those you love.
Recording the first episode now! Cannot wait to watch it! Will also watch zakhm!
