Chapter 77

Veer might just have easily underestimated Bani and her ability to sniff his plans. He swore his phone rang and it flashed Bani’s Caller ID.

“Shit…” Veer swore. It was way past 12. Veer had made sure she was asleep when he escaped from the mansion with Balwant, Pawan, and Tapish. Daksh, Sam, and Ponky were supposed to look out for Bani. Balwant, Pawan, Tapish, and Veer were at Banjar pahadi. He weighed his options. Either he picks up the phone and saves his brothers from being eaten alive by his Naagin biwi or deal with her himself.

“Hello.”

“Kahan ho?”

“Uff. Itna bhi shaq mat karo. Kisi ladki ke saath nahi hun.”

Bani wasn’t amused by his teasing. “Tum kisi ladki ke saath mile toh tum aur woh ladki dono jaan se maroge. That’s not what I’m talking about. Tum ho kaha?”

“Bas thoda sa kaam tha. Use pura karke aa jaayenge.”

“Veeranshu, main time pass karne ke mood mein nahi hun. Shakura ko dhudhne akele hi kahin gayab ho gaye?” Bani was really angry at this point.

“Kisne muh khola?”

“Oh wow. Tum bhul rahe ho shayad. Agar tum Veeranshu Singhania ho aur mujhe acche se jaante ho toh main bhi Bani hun. Tumhari harkatein samajh rahi hun. Itni aadhi raat raat ko koi business deal ho nahi sakti. Sam, Daksh aur Ponky yahan ruke hai matlab it can’t generally meeting just another cheel or anything. Last option left is your tackling something dangerous alone. Zinda jo hai woh bas Shakura hai. Bas guess kiya. Tumne confirm kar diya.”

Veer heard the car engine.

“Bani tum bilkul yahan nahi aa rahi.” Veer told her.

“Veer bhai, Bhabhi bohot gusse mein. I had met an anaconda sized cobra. Remind me how long can Naagins get in their snake form?”

“I’m not sure but even with the longest length general Naagin’s can achieve, Bani can get four times larger than that.” Veer answered.

“Well, the last time I changed my snakeskin, it was 26 feet long. The full length of my snake form.” Bani answered.

“Damn. It's almost competing against reticulated pythons. They hold the record for the longest snake. The longest recorded snake is 25ft 2 in long.” Daksh pointed out.

“Tum sabh Bani ke saath aa rahe ho?” Veer asked.

“It was either I find my way to Banjar pahadi myself or they accompany me,” Bani answered.

“Bani, tum yahan mat aao.”

“Kyu? Kya problem hai?”

“Bani, why do you want to come? Main handle kar sakta hun. Markaat se deal kar liya tha. Yeh Shakura kya cheez hai.”

“The whole point is that I’m not leaving you alone.”

Veer rubbed his forehead. He never found her adamant behavior more problematic.

“Bani, just stay at home. It isn’t necessary for you to come here. Dad, Chachu aur Tapish bhai hai yahan.”

Bani cut the call. Veer sighed. This was going to cause a next level problem. He just knew it. It almost made him think he led Bani right into the Eagle’s Nest.

“You do realize ki abh puri tarah situation out of control ho sakti hai, right?” Tapish asked.

“Pata hai, Tapish bhai.”

“We’re leaving. We’ll handle this later.”

“Kaise handle karenge? Tabh Bani nahi aayegi? Ya use ghar pe band karke rakhoge?” Balwant asked.

“Ziddi toh woh hai. Kitna rok loge.”

Veer flew off ahead. Behind him, Balwant, Pawan, and Tapish flew off. They found the car and stopped before. Bani stepped on the sudden break when she saw Veer walking ahead towards her car.

“What is wrong with you, Bani? Kabhi toh baat sun liya karo.” Veer was getting agitated.

“Tum mujhe attitude dikha rahe ho? Who do you think you are? Sabh akele kar loge?” Bani was no less than Bani. Balwant found it hilarious. It was as if Veer was dealing with someone who is a lot like him. Both of them wild, uncontrolled, and adamant. They shared a similar streak of determination. Bani had the courage that is signature in cheels. Veer had the conniving and tricking aspect that was said to be signature to a snake. Cheels were seen as brash. Naags had a certain calm of a predator. They could patiently wait in ambush of unsuspecting prey. Balwant saw how the two were each other’s halves.

He thought of what Veer had told him earlier. Bani had found out something about Aakesh that changed her perspective of what Aakesh.

“Listen, agar tumhe kuch bhi ho jata wahan toh zindagi bhar mujhe lagta that I’m bloody responsible for it.” Bani shouted. Her temper already hitting the roof. Her iris turned red and pupils into slits. Ponky moved away from Bani.

“Relax, saans lo. Calm down.” Veer commented. “Mujhe kuch nahi hota. What part of ‘I have killed Markaat’ do you not understand? Shakura is not more powerful than Markaat.”

“Veeranshu, aise hi Shakura ke peeche kyu lag gaye ho. Jaane do. He’s not even doing anything. Hoga kahin chupa hua. Kyu uske peeche pad gaye ho. Let him be.”

“Bani, tumhe Shakura gaay ka bachda lagta hai? Ki chod do kahin toh pareshaan nahi karega? Injured wild animal is more dangerous than a healthy one. Shakura Markaat ke kutte jaisa hai. All dogs are loyal to their owners. Markaat ko maine maar diya hai. Kya lagta hai Shakura white flag leke peace declare kar dega? Don’t be daft, Bani. Mujhse zyaada khatra tumhe hai Shakura se.”

“Mujhe? Veeranshu, agar bhul gaye ho toh main yaad dila dun. Maine teen baar uske saath deal kiya hai akele. Agar main tumhe koi bechari damsel in distress lag rahi hun toh better change your perception. I can fight my battles.”

“Fight your battles?”

“Markaat meri body mein ghuske almost tumhe maarne nikal chuka tha but you just stood there like a bloody deer before headlights. What makes you think I am assured you can deal with Shakura without falling for that ‘Aakesh ki shakal’ trap?”

Bani grabbed Veer’s throat. Her eyes up in temper.

“Bani…” Balwant, Tapish, and Pawan went towards Bani. Veer stared into her eyes fearlessly. That fierce eagle stare.

“You don’t want to test me right now, Veeranshu.” Bani hissed.

“Sorry if it hurts your ego, Adi-Naagin, but the fact still remains that you’re emotional. Cheel emotional nahi hote. Just because Shakura calls your sweetheart and is somewhere attracted to you doesn’t mean he’s going to play nice with you.”

Bani pushed away Balwant, Pawan, and Tapish together. A testament to how powerful she was. They were against the car. Not hard enough to injure them but enough to warn them not to mess with her right now. Three grown up cheels could hold Bani down.

“You’re my husband and tumse pyaar bhi bohot hai but that does not give you the right to say whatever comes to your mind. Soch ke bolo, Veeranshu. Just because main emotional hun, tumne decide kar liya ki main kuch nahi kar sakti aur apne aap ko protect nahi kar paaungi? Who gave you the right to measure my strength?”

Veer closed his eyes and took a few deep breaths. Both of them were being crazy. This was going to blow out of proportion if he didn’t handle this well.

“Dekho, Bani. Tumhari fikar hai isiliye keh raha hun. Shakura is not going to play nice with you when you’re up against him. Abhi tak he was simply playing with you. Tum physically uske saath jeet sakti ho. I’m not doubting that. Pehle bhi tum uska saamna kar sakti thi but then he did manage to take away your powers for a while. What are the odds he can’t do that again? Shakura meri takat nahi le sakta kyuki woh jaadu sirf naagon par kaam karta hai.”

“Main deal kar sakti hun, Veeranshu. Kam se kam itna toh yakeen kiya hota. Tum bhi mere family ki tarah yahi sochte ho ki main handle nahi kar sakti. Out of all people, I expected you to understand that I’m equipped to handle situations. Main wahi purani Bani nahi hun. Cheezein change hui hai. Main change hui hun.”

Bani was quite hurt that Veer thought that she can’t deal with a threat like Shakura. Especially when she had already dealt with it thrice.

Veer sighed. Yet again, she was proving that she was an emotional idiot that runs on emotions rather than logic.

“Theek hai. Meri aankhon mein dekh ke kaho ki agar tumhare saamne jeeta jagta Aakesh kaha ho jaaye toh tum freeze nahi karogi and you can kill him again. Uski aankhon mein aankhen daal ke phir se wahi maut de sakti ho. Say it.”

“Mere saamne khada hai, Veeranshu.” She poked her pointing finger on his chest. “Rest assured, I do not need to kill you.”

Veer sighed at Bani being difficult.

“Bani, just listen. Ek baar theek se samjho. He’s going to manipulate you.”

Bani turned around. She was really angry and upset to deal with Veer right now.

“Then that is my bloody problem. Not yours. Har cheez pe tumhari daya ki zaroorat nahi hai. Khud ko sambhal sakti hun. I’m 26 years old. Not 4. So, thank you ki tumhe meri ‘oh-so-much’ fikar hai but let me decide what I can deal with and what I can’t deal with.”

She started walking away.

“Excuse me, kahan jaa rahi ho?”

“Tumse dur. Last thing I need is to see you right now. Cause you know what, I’m so done with you right now. The one person I counted to always have faith in me, use khud mujhpe shaq hai. Aur kya hi kahun?”

“Bani, don’t be foolish. Abhi thodi se behes ho gayi toh tum kahin bhi chali jaaogi?”

“Tumse matlab? Kahin bhi jaaun main. Meri marzi. Mere warden nahi ho tum.”

“Tumhara pati hun.”

Veer tried to stop her but Balwant stopped him.

“Dad, haath chodo. Kuch bhi bakwaas kar rahi hai? She can’t just walk away because we had an argument. She just showed it that she’s an emotional idiot. Logical cheezein akal mein jaa hi nahi rahi hai. Just because she’s in denial with her guilt doesn’t mean it is absent.” Veer was angry.

“Veer, shaant ho jaa. Abhi bohot gusse mein hai. Let her calm down. Then talk to her. Koi bhi gusse mein ho toh logic dimaag tak nahi jaata.” Balwant told her. “Meera ke ghar jaayegi yaa phir Vanshika ke. She isn’t going to roam around in forests. Itna toh mujhe pata hai. Let her be for a while. Uske peeche abhi mat jaa. Uska paara chadha hua hai.”

“Dad, meri biwi hai. She’s not going to kill me.”

“Baat marne ki nahi hai, Veer. Kabhi kabhi space dena chahiye. Especially when you’ve offended her. Shayad tune jo kaha sahi bhi ho par offend toh Bani hui hai. Not the best idea to crowd her right now. Use uska space de shaant hone ke liye.”

“Did you just give a marriage advice?” Ponky asked chuckling.

“Haan toh? Shaadi hui thi meri bhi. Chahe aurat kisi bhi species se ho. Ek cheez common hoti hai. They’re all majorly emotional.”

“Konse experience se baat kar rahe ho? Do biwiyan thi aapki.” Pawan commented. Balwant hit him on the head.

“Shut up. Chandrakala meri biwi nahi thi. Legal requirement thi. Jo maine puri ki.”

Everyone chuckled. No one in the family would let Balwant live down the fact that on papers, Balwant and Chandrakala were married.

Bani walked angrily towards Sharma Residence. She knocked on the window. Meera opened the window.

“Bani?” Meera asked. The moment she looked at Bani’s face, Meera realized she must have had a fight with Veer. “Ruk. Darwaza khol rahi hun. Wahan se andar aa jaa.”

It was 4 am in morning. Meera opened the door and Bani walked in. Bani was majorly irritated and angry. Out of all people in the world, Veer was doubting her. Someone who claimed had unbending faith in her. Meera made tea for her and brought cookies. Bani had the habit of eating when she’s stressed or angry.

“Abh bata. Hua kya hai.” Meera asked Bani. Bani told the entire story. Meera’s phone rang. She saw Tapish’s Caller ID.

“Tapish hai.” Meera told Bani. Bani took the phone and picked it up.

“Tapish bhai, main theek hun. Keh dena usse. Doesn’t need to worry about me.” Bani answered. Meera sighed and took the phone from her. Bani was really annoyed at the lot. No one had said anything while Veer was going on and on about how he thought she can’t deal with Shakura.

“Sorry, Tapish. Bani ka mood kaafi kharab hai toh she just came off as rude. Use mind mat karo. Bani yahi hai ghar pe. Safe hai. Tum pareshaan mat ho. Main hun uske saath.” Meera answered with a calm tone.

“Its okay. Kaafi behes hui hai Veer aur Bani ki. Reminds me of the time they were newly married. Har aaye din dono ki behes ho jaati thi. Bas kuch mushkil hui toh mujhe call kar dena.” Tapish answered.

“Haan.”

“Kya, haan, Meera di? Aapko bhi lagta hai ki main apni ladai khud nahi lad sakti?” Bani asked.

“Nahi, Bani, aisa nahi hai. Mujhe pata hai tu sabh kar legi. Main sirf yeh keh rahi thi ki main Tapish ko call kar ke bata dungi ki agar koi musibat hui toh kitne acche se handle kar liya hai. Matlab unhe bhi aake dekhna chahiye ki tu kitne acche se apni problems handle kar sakti hai.” Meera assured her. Tapish chuckled.

“At least aapko mujhpe yakeen hai.” Bani hugged Meera. “Sach hi bolte hai log. Sirf behen hi best hoti hai. Aaj unn sabne prove kar diya ki woh sabh Veeranshu ke bhai hai.”

“Uska drama khatam nahi hua kya, Tapish bhai? Pucho madam se ki irada hai ghar aane ka?” Bani heard Veeranshu.

“Main apne ghar pe hi hun. Aur sun lo. Nahi, drama khatam nahi hua. Meri marzi main pure din drama karu ya pura mahina.” Bani told him.

“Bhagwaan tumhe sadbuddhi hai, Bani Singhania.”

“Bani Sharma. Mera naam Bani Sharma hai.”

“Bani, tumhare Bholenath tumse deal kaise karte hai? Aise hi ziddi ho jaati ho unke saath bhi?”

“You have no right to speak about me and my Bholenath. Tumhari tarah woh mujhpe doubt nahi karte.”

“Goodness, Bani. Abhin ahi dekh rahi. You’re getting too emotional over something really trivial.”

“Trivial? This is trivial? Tumhe lagta hai tumhara aise keh dena ki main Shakura se nahi lad sakti, yeh trivial hai? Tumhe doubt karo ki main problems handle kar sakti hun, yeh trivial hai?”

“Veer, tu jaa. Bekaar mein baat badha raha hai.” Tapish shooed away Veer.

“I can’t believe this. Why is she being so difficult?” Bani heard Veer complain to someone else.

“Himmat dekho iski. Keh raha hai ki I’m being difficult? Khud ki galti nahi dikh rahi.” Bani complained.

Girish and Ritu came out hearing the noise.

“Bani?” Girish asked.

“Sorry, papa. Aapko utha diya kya?” Bani asked a little upset that her fight with Veer had woke up her father’s sleep.

“Nahi, beta. Koi baat nahi. Kya baat hai?” He asked.

“Papa, aapko pata hai na ki main kitni strong hun?” Bani asked. He sat down next to her.

“Bilkul, meri bacchi. Of course, you’re strong. Tu toh hai hi meri bahadur bacchi.” He told her with a smile. She wrapped her arms around him. Bani started to tell him everything that happened. She explained to him about Shakura. Then, her fights with him. Finally, her fight with Veer. Girish rubbed her arm affectionately. Bani had her arms around him and her head on his shoulder.

“Abh aap hi batao. Gussa nahi aayega toh aur kya hoga? Saare logo mein se Veeranshu ne aisa kaha. Uss insaan ne jisse meri expectation thi ki woh humesha mera saath dega aur mujhe support karega. I don’t need a Knight in Shining Armour, papa. I just want a Prince who knows to support me and stand by me as I fight my own battles.” She complained.

Girish patted her head.

“But jeeju toh cheel hai na?” Mehek asked. Meera pinched the bridge of her nose. Bani made a face that conveyed her annoyance.

“Bete, ismein koi shaq nahi hai. Tu kisi bhi pareshaani se lad sakti hai. Akele chalke bhi ladne ki takat hai tujhmein. Tujhe toh Shiv ka vardaan hai. Tu kaise nahi kar sakti? Bilkul lad sakti hai har mushkil se. Shayad Veer ka shaq nahi, Veer ka darr hai. Usne darna seekha hi nahi hai.

“Haan.”

“Bas. Usi fikar ko leke Veer tujhe rok raha hai. Uske dil mein hi tu us musibat mein pade kyu jisse ladne ki tujhe zaroorat hi nahi hai. Saare aadmi aise hi hote. Nahi pasand ki uske pyaar ke saath koi aur dikhe.”

“Aur phir Veer toh aam ladko se kuch zyaada hi possessive hai.” Meera added.

“Bas. Pehle bhi tumhare saath tha thodi der ke liye. Isiliye chahta hi nahi ki tum bilkul bhi uske aas paas aao.”

“Par yeh konsa tareeka hai, papa? He thinks ki main itni emotional hun ki use dekh ke pighal jaaungi. Mujhe pata hai ki woh Shakura hai.”

“Bas. Itni si baat? Areey aisi ladai toh hoti rehti hai shaadi mein. Aise hi ladai se gussa hoke ghar aa jaayegi toh hotel lodge ki tarah haar aaye din check in karna padega tujhe yahan.” Ritu commented.

“Rehne de, Ritu. Pehli hi pareshaan hai. Thodi shaanti ki saans lene de Bani ko.” Girish commented.

Veer was talking to other cheels. Balwant, Pawan, Tapish, and Sam were playing cards.

“Veer waise chida hua hai.” Pawan pointed out.

“Veer kab kaise react karta hai koi nahi samajh sakta. Waise toh Bani ke maamle mein dheel chod deta hai. Letting her do as he pleases. Par hai toh Veer hi. Ek point ke baad uski aadat hai saari cheezein apne hisaab se chalane ki. Aaj tak saari cheezein Veer ke plan ke hisaab se hi hote hai. Bani kuch bhi kare, Veer us change ko include karke naya plan bana leta hai. Abh Bani puri tarah uske plan ke opposite kaam kar rahi hai toh chid gaya hai. Puri gufa aur pahadi dhundh li par Shakura nahi mila.” Balwant agreed.

“Dad, Veer ko lagta hai Bani over react kar rahi hai.” Tapish explained putting his cards.

“Jab jhagda hota hai pati-patni ke beech toh har pati ko yahi lagta hai ki biwi over-react kar rahi hai.”

Tapish chuckled.

“Knowing Veer and Bani both. Dono his over react kar rahe hai. Veer theek se samjhata nahi. Bani samajhti nahi. Perfectly set hai.” Tapish chuckled. Balwant chuckled.

“Ek waqt tha jab hume lagta tha ki Bani sirf Veer ko marna chahti hai aur usse aur kuch sunna bhi nahi chahte the.” Pawan chuckled.

“Humesha lagta tha ki yeh roshni Veer ki jaan le legi. Pehle ek baar yeh dekh chuka tha. Roshni ki or gaya aur uski jaan chali gayi. Phir se yakeen nahi kar sakta tha ki kya karegi. Saamne se kaha tha Bani ne ki Veer ke saath thi apna maqsat pura karne. Abh waqt badal gaya, Adi-Naagin badal gayi hai aur kahani bhi badli hai.” Balwant added.

“Bhabhi ko samajhna itna bhi mushkil nahi hai. She’s made of the experiences she had. Nageshwari ke experience aur Bani ke experiences. Complex cheezein ekdum se samajh legi aisa expect kiya tha. A part of her lived in Satyug. Abh jaake Bhabhi had come to face the truth that she’s in Kaliyug.”

Balwant though of the things Veer had said earlier. Bani knew something that had changed a lot of things. Balwant wanted to know what were things that Bani had learned. Was it a dangerous thing? Why did it make her feel guilty? Even when she fell for Veer, she never admitted to being wrong about killing Aakesh. Bani believed she did the right thing.

Chapter 78

Bani walked towards Naag Mandir. If there anything that calmed her down well, it was her being in the Naag Mandir before the idol.

“Adi-Naagin. Aap? Koi baat hui hai kya?” Panditayin asked.

“Nahi, Panditayin. Sabh theek hai. Bas thodi si pareshaan thi toh socha yahan aa jaau.” Bani answered. She was in her human form. Panditayin was carrying a basket of flowers to make a flower garland. “Main kar dun?” She offered help. Panditayin smiled and gave it to Bani.

“Aapko bhi lagta hai ki meri softness mushkil ban jaayegi mere liye?” Bani asked Shiva’s idol. She sighed when there was no answer. “Sahi hai. Sawaal karke aapka dhyaan bhang nahi karungi. Continue.” Bani said to the idol.

She continued her work of making the garland. She finished the garland and put it over the idol. Smiling with satisfaction that came properly.

“Nageshwari…” Bani’s head whipped at that. She could recognize that voice anywhere. The tray fell from her hands and she ran off outside.

“Adi-Naagin.” Panditayin tried to stop her.

Aakesh. She knew it was Aakesh’s voice. She stood at the main temple gate and saw Aakesh. Same clothing. Downright to every detail, it was the same. Someone hit her from behind on her head. Bani fell over from the stairs.

“Adi-Naagin!!” Panditayin shouted.

“Nageshwari…”

Aakesh. He was there. Bani stumbled back a bit. So many things washed over her. She had to face the truth. She had herself killed the one who was her true soulmate.

“This can’t be true. No.” Bani stumbled back. The guilt resurfaced. Her heartbeat went really fast. Fear, guilt, and uneasiness poured over her.

“Adi-Naagin, sambhaliye khud ko. Yeh sabh…” Panditayin’s voice slowly got muted. She couldn’t hear anything she was trying to say. Panic. Bani felt panic. Her mind was getting chaotic. Somewhere deep inside her heart, she felt as if something was really wrong. Really wrong. But then Aakesh was right there before her.

“Nageshwari…” He called her. The next thing Bani saw was that Aakesh was kicked away.

“Nahi!!” Bani shouted. Panditayin stopped her. She saw Hriday attacking Aakesh. “Nahi, please, nahi…” Bani shouted. She pushed Panditayin behind and ran up before Aakesh.

“Hriday, suno. Please.” Bani tried to tell him. Bani couldn’t explain why she felt no anger towards Hriday when she stood before him.

“Nageshwari…” Aakesh called her. Bani stood before Aakesh and before her was Hriday.

Veer clenched his fists. Shakura had crossed his limits. He must have put Bani in the same trap that Veer had earlier walked into. Bani was standing before him, defending Shakura behind her. The trap made her think Shakura was Aakesh and he was Hriday.

“Bani, listen to me. Meri baat suno. Yeh sabh bakwaas hai. He’s playing with you. Main Veer hun. Tumhara Veeranshu.” Veer tried to tell him.

“Main tumhe hurt nahi kar sakti. Please…” Bani tried to tell him. Veer knew how much anger she bore for Hriday and if she hadn’t attacked him yet, somewhere Bani could feel it was him.

“Bani, please mujhe suno. You know me.” Veer tried to tell her.

“Please. Stop this.” Bani was feeling tortured. She could hear Veer’s voice. Then there was Aakesh calling to help her. The guilt was majorly torturing her. She had killed Aakesh. Aakesh was her soulmate. The one who was made for her. She was made for him. Her instincts did warn her that she was attached to Aakesh in a way but she didn’t listen to her soul who already knew Aakesh. The guilt was pouring over her. She tried not to let it affect her relationship but now when she felt Aakesh was right before he, she couldn’t help that panic. That was why maybe Bholenath cursed her. She had murdered her own soulmate.

The place flashed. She saw the dead bodies of naags and cheels around. Hriday was dead.

“Tujhe main hazaar maut dungi. Hazaar maut.” She saw Nageshwari shout.

“Nahi… Nageshwari, please suno.” Bani tried to stop but it was a trap. Bani could recognize it was a trap. Nageshwari coiled up Aakesh in his coils and threw him off the temple.

“Nahi…” Bani shouted. Aakesh had that serene look on his face. Bani ran towards the balcony of the temple. She saw Aakesh. “Aakesh….” Bani shouted so loudly.

Veer watched her. She was stuck in the loop of her nightmare. The nightmare of her truth.

“Bani… Bani…” Veer tried to shake her out of it. Bani held her head.

“Please. Roko ise. Please stop it.” Bani kept shouting.

Bani looked before her. The place flashed. She saw the scene before her. Aakesh sat by her feet. He stared into Nageshwari’s eyes as he removed sharp pieces of stone stuck in her feet. Nageshwari winced.

“A..abhi theek ho jaayega.” He assured her. Wincing himself at her pain.

Bani watched it. It reminded her of Veer. The way Veer cared for her. Even inside Aakesh, there was her Veer. Nageshwari looked at him with contempt.

“Tum sirf mere dushman ho.” Nageshwari hissed at him.

“Main tumhara banna chahta hun. Abh beech mein dushman tum laga rahi ho.” Aakesh answered. He put the healing paste over her injuries. Bani watched same expression in Aakesh’s eyes which she saw in Veer’s eyes. That lost in love expression.

Then the scene went back to Nageshwari killing Aakesh. Nageshwari attacking Aakesh but he did nothing to defend himself.

“Tera anth mere haathon likha hai. Mere haathon.” Nageshwari threw him against the pillar.

“Zid chod do, Nageshwari. Meri ban jaao, Nageshwari.”

“Kabhi nahi. Tune mere pyaar ki jaan li hai. Mere naag ki. Tujhe is janam mein kya, har janam mein maut dungi. Sirf maut. Nafrat karungi tujhse. Hazaar maut dungi. Hazaar maut”

“Qubool hai. Sabh kuch qubool hai. Tumhare haathon Nageshwari, marna bhi Manzoor hai.”

Nageshwari threw him off the temple’s balcony. Bani went towards the balcony and watched Aakesh falling down. He kept falling down.

“Aakesh…” Bani shouted. It was a loop of nightmares she couldn’t wake up from.

Veer looked at Bani. She was shaking. Balwant didn’t know what to do. Why had Bani become so disturbed? She kept shouting Aakesh. He had never thought Bani would seem so traumatized by whatever had happened. Traumatized that she had killed Aakesh.

“Bani, Bani, meri baat suno. Listen to me.” Veer tried to reach out to her.

Bani was so exhausted. She couldn’t hear Veer. A faint feeling of being around Veer came to her but every time she saw Aakesh die, that feeling would disappear. The temple was destroyed. Many naags were dead. It was just destruction everywhere. Hriday lay dead before her. Bani saw Aakesh fall over that trishul.

“Aakesh…” She shouted. Almost if it pierced right through her soul rather than him.

“Dad, I don’t think Bani tak Veer ki awaaz jaa rahi hai.”

Shakura showed up before Bani.

“Nageshwari….” Shakura was covered in blood. The way Veer had beaten the crap out of Shakura, he was almost limping. Shakura’s black magic had already traumatized Bani so much. She almost believed that Shakura was Aakesh. Shakura almost fell but Bani held him.

“Bani…” Veer tried to stop her but she pushed him away. Veer just couldn’t understand how to get Bani back to normal. She was stuck in that trap. No way of getting out of it.

“Veer bhai, kuch toh karna padega.” Daksh claimed.

Bani moved away from Shakura after a moment. She was completely messed up. It felt so strongly like Aakesh but again she didn’t know why she felt something was wrong. Her mind couldn’t calm down and let her soul speak. It was too noisy from all the nightmare playing on a loop. She made the mistake of not trying understand why Aakesh was set on her path. She made the mistake of not seeing that small speck of light inside Aakesh. She made the mistake of not understanding the intentions cheels hai. She made the mistake of not knowing the whole thing. She made the mistake of letting cheels enter the Naag Mandir. Naag naagins lay there dead because of her error in judgment. She made the mistake of not knowing what Hriday’s intentions were. She had herself killed her own soulmate. Everything came falling down on her.

Bani then saw that peacock feather attached to her jewellery. It was the same peacock feather that Jay was trying to put on Narayan’s crown at the Temple in Sheshnaag Valley. Bani held it in her hands.

“Shayad meri galti hai. Samajh hi nahi paayi ki kya karna hai. Kaise samajhti? Aapki tarah sochne ki takat nahi hai meri. Aap toh Bhagwaan hai. Aapki soch ko samajhna meri bas ki baat kaha hai?” Bani asked. She was shaking.

Shakura had grabbed Bani. Veer tried to help her but Bani pushed him away thinking he was trying to attack Aakesh. Bani wouldn’t let him close to her at all. Shakura pulled out his knife. Bani wouldn’t even know when Shakura would stab her. The world before her eyes was weaved according to what Shakura wanted her to see.

Bani stumbled on a stone and fell down. Shakura throwing her against a tree seemed like she stumbled across a stone and injured herself. Bani had almost begun to feel scared. She couldn’t get out of this trap. She knew it was a trap. Yet she didn’t know how to free herself.

Shakura tried to attack Panditayin but Veer pushed her away in time to save her. He helped her to stand up.

“Abh ek baat suno. Main, Daksh aur Sam Shakura ko distract karenge. Tum Ponky ke saath Bani ko Naag Mandir le jaao.” Veer told her.

Sam attacked Shakura. Bani hissed angrily. She faced Sam. Sam stood before her. Bani tried to strike but he dodged away quickly. Sam was no baby at fighting against naags. His eyes turned golden as he predicted Bani’s next move and dodged away quickly. Balwant and Pawan tackled Shakura. Bani turned around and threw them away from Shakura.

“Main warn kar rahi hun. Usse dur raho.” Bani moved towards them angrily but Veer grabbed her. “Chodo mujhe, Hriday…” Bani hissed.

“Ouch. That was offensive. Gaaliya bhi itna offend nahi karti mujhe jitna yeh naam karta hai.” Veer muttered. Veer pushed her against the tree. He stared into her eyes. “Apne pati ko bhi nahi pehchaan rahi, sweetheart. Kaafi bura lag raha hai.”

Bani struggled to get out of his arms.

“Veer bhai. Ready.” Daksh shouted. Veer moved away from Bani. Sam dived right towards Shakura. Balwant and Pawan followed.

“Nageshwari…” Shakura tried to shout. Bani moved towards them. Fighting them. Even being together, they can’t tackle Bani. Veer knew strength wasn’t going to work. He’s got to play the Villain. Veer moved towards Panditayin with a dagger. He pretended to attack.

“Aaahhh!!!” She shouted. “Yeh kya kar rahe ho?”

“Jaan se nahi maar raha. Bani ko bulao. She’ll hear you. Kyuki tum darr mein use bula rahi ho madad ke liye.” Veer suggested.

“Adi-Naagin.” Panditayin shouted. Just as Veer planned, the scared shout reached Bani’s ears. Bani saw Hriday attacked Panditayin. Bani ran towards her. Ponky took over managed to lure Bani up the stairs into the temple. Veer flew to the top and closed the door, locking Bani inside the temples.

“Darwaza kholo…” Bani shouted.

“Sorry, sweetheart. Thodi der andar hi raho. Bholenath hai wahan tumhare. He’ll care for you till I come back. Bas apni iska khel khatam karke aaya.” Veer assured. Bani shook the door but didn’t happen. Veer stepped down the stairs with a grin and looked at Shakura.

“Abh toh Bani bhi nahi bacha sakti tujhe.” Veer threatened Shakura.

“Tu mere saamne nahi tik sakta. Maine Adi-naagin ko hi phasa liya hai. Tu kya cheez hai.” Shakura challenged.

Veer was halfway down the stairs when the doors of the temple broke down. Standing was Adi-Naagin. Veer turned around to see her. That wasn’t his sweetheart. That was Adi-Naagin. Her red and gold outfit and jewellery. Panditayin was standing behind Bani shocked at the force that Bani had showcased. Her fists clenched. Everyone just stood there looking at Bani in awe. Veer saw the two doors that had landed away ahead on the ground. The doors had flown right over his head, crashing against the ground. Everyone took a good step back from Bani. Even when they were far enough from her. Her energy crackled.

“Bani….” Veer sighed. Step outside the temple. The temple shook. They could hear the bells gonging from how the temple was shaking. Veer commanded the sky. The air blew so hard that Bani could move.

Was it the earth vs the sky? Or was it the most powerful cheel against the most powerful naagin?

Bani’s temper had already been set off. All the snakes nearby showed the same aggressive behavior. Veer’s aura had brought all the raptors around flying.

“Adi-Naagin, kya kar rahi hai?” Panditayin worried. She started getting worried without how everything was around. Bani was shaking the ground and Veer had the air. The snakes hissed and the birds shrieked in reply.

“Bani, just calm down aur meri baat suno.” Veer tried to tell her but the force of air was so much against her that Bani couldn’t even take a step ahead. Her fists were clenched.

Shakura stood there looking at the couple. Both of them were powerful. If they’re thrown up with their full potential against each other, he could imagine the kind of destruction it would bring. Bani was powerful. He had just not realized how powerful she could be when picked on her emotional weakness. This time it was going to pour out on Veer.

A moment later Veer stopped pushing Bani.

“Alright. Tumhe ladna hai. Good. Aao phir.” Veer told her. Veer stood right there. Bani moved ahead towards Veer. He wasn’t scared of her. Bani was a bursting volcano of temper which was seeming to directed towards him. She stood one step distance from Veer.

“Veer, bach.” Balwant shouted. Bani wasn’t in the right frame of mind. She stopped there. Veer looked right into her eyes. He stared into her and only saw the pain she was stuck in. She was stuck in the loop of her own pain.

“Tumhare haath mili toh maut bhi qubool hai. Samajh sakta hun ki dard mein ho but bas ek baar, Bani, mehsoos karogi toh tum jahan bhi hogi, tumhare paas hi main rahunga.” Veer took her hand and placed it over her heart. “Tumhari har dhadkan mein main hun. Agar tum ho toh main bhi hun.”

Bani couldn’t understand the mess. The trap kept weaving itself differently and provoking her to get violent. She stood before the image of Hriday but no one else could have that look in their eyes. No one else could stop the raging tsunami of her temper but Veer. Bani had tears in her eyes.

“Tumhe tumhara guilt pareshaan kar raha hai, Bani. It hurts you as long as you let it hurt you and define you.” He told her. Only Veer would say something like that.

She let go and released her fists.

“Veer…” She said. It still looked like Hriday. Every time she saw Hriday, it reminded her of the betrayal. Hriday’s own betrayal. Jay’s betrayal. All the emotions weighing down on her. Every thing that caused her pain. Not the physical kind. The kind that eats you away from the inside. “Veer, please jahan bhi ho saamne aao.”

“Bani, ek baar aankh band karo aur feel karke dekho. Main humesha tumhare saath hun. You and I are the same. Each other’s halves. Aadha ang. I am the same as you and you’re same as me in our soul. Tum mujhe complete karti ho aur main tumhe. Amavas ki raat chaand nahi dikhta hai par iska matlab yeh toh nahi ki chaand asmaan se hi chala gaya ho.” She heard Veer.

“Mujhe yahan se bahar nikalna hai, Veer. Baar baar wahi nazara dikh raha hai. Nahi bardaash hota. It feels like everything is my fault. Main apni zimmedari nahi nibha paayi aur hum sabh maare gaye.”

She looked at the ring on her finger. He was always her strength. He was never her weakness in a battle. He was always her greatest strength when was against the world. Bani touched the ring. She took a deep breath.

“Its okay. Theek hai. Nahi dekh paa rahi mujhe, fine. It is okay. But tumhare Bholenath toh har jagah hai, right? Aur agar tumhare dil mein kuch hai jo mere liye pyaar se zyaada hai toh woh tumhare Bholenath ke liye tumhara yakeen hai. Ek baar peeche ghumo aur unhe dekho. He’s right there, Bani. Jahan tum ho, wahan hai. Bhagwaan apne bhakt se dur nahi hote, Bani.”

Veer knew he had silence Shakura’s call. Shakura kept trying to trap her by calling her Nageshwari. Picking on her weak spot. Veer signaled the sapera baba’s damru. Panditayin understood and went inside to get the damru.

“Nageshwari…” Bani felt that pain in her heart every time she heard the call. She then heard the damru. The sound of damru had started to mute the call. Calling her to it. Bani turned around and looked at the idol of Shiva before her. The eternal peace on his face. Not a wrinkle of worry. The calm in him. The muffled calls of Aakesh. The sound of damru. Bani closed her eyes. She opened it and looked at the idol.

To her at the end, everything was her Shiva. She started from him. Every time she feels there’s no where else to go, she’d go to him. She had begun her story from him and she ends it with him if that is what he wanted. Bani knew that even if things were in their worst situations. She could always turn to her Bholenath and Veer.

“Na toh kuch samajh aa raha aur na hi khud ki madad kar paa rahi hun. Kya Veeranshu sahi hai ki main nahi kar paaungi?” Bani asked him.

Aakesh’s voice kept ringing in her head. She put her hands over her ears to stop it.

“Stop it. Bas karo.”

Panditayin turned to Veer and signaled that although it was work, Bani was still being plagues.

“Bani ko uska hi guilt pareshaan kar raha hai. Shakura sirf use manipulate kar raha hai. Jab tak Bani apne guilt se free nahi hogi, she can’t face him. Pata nahi kyu achanak se yeh guilt Bani ke dil mein aa gaya hai. Aisa toh hai nahi ki Aakesh dudh ka dhula hai. Mujhe koi shikaayat nahi hai toh bani ko kis baat ka guilt hai?”

“Yeh sabh hum nahi bata sakte.” Pandityain commented. Veer raised an eyebrow at them.

“Kamaal hai. Yeh tumse Bholenath khud notice board pe laga ke kaha hai? ‘Jo bhi sawaal tumse puch jaaye uska jawaab dena ki tum nahi bata sakte’? Ajeeb log ho tum sabh. Shukla ko toh sach mein kuch pata nahi hota hai. Aap logo ko pata hoke bhi nahi batate. Ek se badh ke ek kamaal praani hai.” Veer taunted. Veer didn’t know what to do. Should he go and pacify Bani or should he deal with Shakura? If he kills Shakura now, the trap will be broken but it is not going to free Bani from the trap of her own guilt.

“Veer, tu theek hai?” Balwant asked.

“Kuch nahi hua hai, dad.” Veer assured. Sam, Daksh, Pawan and Balwant were fighting Shakura. Veer turned to one of the birds. “Koi suggestion hai?” Veer asked the eagle. It said something. Panditayin was surprised to see a man speaking to birds. Generally, she’s heard of girls who speak to birds. She’s heard of how Garud vansh’s people can speak to birds.

“Nahi. Yeh nahi kar sakte. It will probably break her even more. Hum Bani ko force nahi kar sakte ki Shakura ko maar de. Can’t trick her at this point. Use pata chala toh sabhko maar degi. Gussa naak pe hota hai uske.” Veer told the eagle. It sat on Veer’s shoulder. The eagle said something again. “Not sure. Mera unke saath koi connection nahi hai, yaar. Bani ka hai. Bani ko hi jawaab dete hai.” The eagle said something. “Hello, excuse me. Yeh mera ego nahi hai. Sahi toh hai. Tumhe sach mein lagta hai Bholenath mujhse associate karenge? Kuch bhi matlab. Abh chup raho. Sochne do.”

“Tum pakshiyo se baat kar sakte ho?” Panditayin asked. Veer nodded.

“Phirse marne ka natak nahi kar sakte, Bani jaan le legi jab use pata chalega? Abh toh bas itna hope hai ki maybe Bholenath hi uski help kar de. Mujhe bata toh nahi rahi ki problem hai kya.”

Veer tried to think of ways that he could break the black magic. Veer walked down and dealt with Shakura.

“Tameez se keh raha hun, Bani ko chod. Jo bhi jaadu kar rakha hai. Usse Bani ko nikaal.” Veer threatened Shakura.

“Shakura hun main. Shakura.”

“Abe, oye, Shakura ho ya Shakira. Tere naam se mujhe koi fark nahi padta. Tu khud ko Shakura bulaye ka kachra mera isse koi matlab nahi hai. Bas Bani ko nikal.”

“Sweetheart aur mujhe ek hona hi hai.”

“Mere zinda hote hue yeh hone se raha nahi. Acche se mere baare mein jaankari haasil ki but important part bhul gaya. Main Veeranshu Singhania hun. Paara chadha toh tera haal itna bura karunga ki khud ki shakal bhul jaayega.”

“Na. Main sweetheart ko nahi chodne waala. Abhi toh usse aur badla lena hai. Yeh starting hai. Ek baar tu raaste se hat gaya toh use apni tarah se samjhaunga ki kya kiya hai usne.”

Veer grabbed his throat.

“Aukaat kabutar ki aur udaan bharne chale cheel ki? Tu mujhe maarega? Apne bas ki baat kar.”

“Main nahi. Bani. Bani tujhe maaregi. Pata kar ke aaya hun ki tujhe sirf Bani maar sakti hai. Aur tune kitne chalaki se Bani ko apne pyaar ke jaal mein phasa liya. Matlab amar hone ka alag ticket bana liya. Maanna padega. Akal teez hai teri.”

“Tere kabutar size dimaag mein itna hi aa sakta hai. Its okay.”

Veer patted his shoulder.

“Apni jagah mat bhul. Main Shakura hun. Sabse khunkaar aur sabse zaalim cheel.”

“Khaali khopdi, kuch naya bol.” Veer’s tone was taunted. “Pata hai ki tera naam Shakura hai. Teri bakwaas nahi sunni mujhe. Bani ko chod.”

“Na. Nahi. Yeh nahi ho sakta.”

The snakes started to gather around. Around 14 feet king cobras slithering ahead. Ponky almost jumped up over Daksh’s shoulder.

“Bhabhi ka tandav.” Sam commented.

“Hain?” Ponky asked. “Bhabhi tandav karke saare saanp ko bula rahi hai kya?”

“Idiot, Bhabhi Adi-Naagin hai. Bhabhi ke tandav par unka reaction hota hai. Naag Naagin generally tandav karte hai. Either when they’re trying to please Mahadev or to express their devotion. Kyuki Shiv khud tandav karte hai. Tandav doesn’t necessarily mean the destructive one. Yeh unka tareeka hai express karne ka. Toh unke bhakt, naag naagin, they do the same. Aur Bhabhi ke tandav par react karte hai kyuki saare saanp Bhabhi ke emotion pe react karte hai. When she’s calm, they’re calm. She’s angry, they’re angry. They mimic her emotion. Saare saanp unke orders follow karte hai.” Sam explained.

All the snakes were entering the temple. Panditayin just stood there watching Bani.

“Doesn’t seem like she’s angry,” Daksh commented.

Wow...Awesome...fight is nail-biting so far...Veer was right in thinking Bani is emotional will get trapped...But Bani too was right that this one is her fight she has to fight it...

Glad to know she didn't feel like attacking Veer even though she was seeing him as Hriday...hope she wins this one...I don't know what you have planned but jaise shakura Aakesh k jaisa use bulane ki try kar raha...Veer is Aakesh...he should try reaching Naageshwari as Aakesh instead of Bani as Veer...

And I would really love some sort of confrontation/convo between them as Aakeshwari😛😆

Btw that is a very bad cliffhanger u ended with there, m impatient...so update real real real soon...waiting will be more difficult this time...😆
