Chapter 76

Bani woke up to find herself on the bed. She was curled up in his arms. She was back in his hoodie. A soft blush on her cheeks as she recollected the events of last night.

She then remembered it was Valentine’s Day.

“Good morning, patidev.” Bani poked on his nose. She chuckled when he groaned. She moved to get out of bed but he pulled her back, holding her tighter.

“Stay.” He wrapped his arm around her tighter. She tried to free herself but it was cold. She groaned. Veer chuckled. “Mujhe waise hi winters pasand the, now have another reason to like winters.”

“Hume uthna chahiye.” She willed herself to brace the cold and got off. He complained. Bani pushed the curtains. Veer groaned putting a hand over his eyes.

“Bani, kya kar rahi ho. Parda lagao.” He complained.

“Subeh ho gayi hai, Veeranshu. Utho.” She went close to him to wake him up. He grabbed her by her waist pulled her under him. His hands traveled ahead upwards from her knees. “It is morning, Veeranshu.”

“Toh? Romance karne ke liye time important nahi hota. Mood important hai.”

“Tumhara mood humesha hi hota hai. Also, aaj Valentine’s Day hai.”

“Toh? Sweetheart, I don’t need a specific day to love you. Mere liye har din hi valentine hai jabse tumhe dekha hai.”

“Haan, but mere liye toh special hai.”

Veer rolled his eyes.

“The only thing I like about Valentine’s day is the party. Saala zindagi puri single hai but Valentine’s day ki party throw karni hoti hai Ponky ko.”

Bani broke into laughter at the way he commented.

“Tum sabhko party karne ka bas excuse chahiye. Who cares if you’re fulfilling the requirements or not.”

“Yeh bhi sahi baat hai.”

Bani wrapped her arms around his neck. He rested his head on her neck. She smelled a bit like him. He sighed. It satisfied some part of his territorial animal. He kissed her and she held his face. Bani sighed. He didn’t need a certain time to want to be romantic. Bani was generally not so comfortable with the physical aspect of a relationship. It stemmed from a need to have a strong bond with someone. She had always assumed it would take years of relationship to build that bond. Then there was Veeranshu Singhania. He just barged into her life unannounced. There are times when she’s around Veer and something inside her almost doesn’t want to take her hands off him. She had never thought she'd come across someone who would make her want to constantly be in his arms.

“Sometimes I wish ki tum itne handsome nahi hote toh phir asaan hota yeh kehna ki Veer bas karo. Abh uthna bhi hai. But there here you are.”

“Who’s asking you to keep your hands off me. Mujhe buran ahi lagega agar tum 24*7 mere saath hi rehna chaho.”

Regardless, the two got up. They ate sandwich for breakfast and returned to Cheel Mansion. Ponky was preparing roses.

“Bhabhi, yeh aapke liye.” Ponky gave her a rose.

“Excuse me. Tum Bani ko rose kis liye de rahe ho?” Veer asked.

“Veer bhai, zaroori thodi hai ki pyaar sirf ek tarah ka ho. Valentine’s Day is to spread love. Why be restricted to romantic one. Jaisa ek bhai ka pyaar hota hai apni Bhabhi ke liye. Exactly that same love and care ke chalte Ponky rose de raha hai. As such aap toh rose dene se rahe nahi because for some reason, the extremely romantic Veeranshu Singhania ko Valentine’s Day khaas accha nahi lagta.”

“Two reasons. One, Bani doesn’t like roses. Two, phool dene ke liye ya phir pyaar jatane ke liye ek specific day ko lagane ki kya zaroorat hai? I do it every day. Toh alag se kis Khushi mein Valentine’s Day manau?”

“Jo bhi hai. At least try karne ke liye brownie points milte hi hai.” Bani took the rose regardless of the fact that she isn’t a huge fan of roses.

“Ponky har ladki ko rose deta hai Valentine’s Day pe. Koi special baat nahi hai. Aur jaise tumhe roses nahi pasand waise hi mujhe Valentine’s Day kuch khaas pasand nahi.”

“Kuch log apni life aur apne kaam mein bohot busy hote hai to make time for their loved one every single day. Isiliye, unke liye ek din ka yeh excuse hota hai ki apne kaam ko bas 24 hrs ke liye chodke apne partner pe dhyaan de and give them the attention. That’s why it is special.”

“But Ponky konsa bohot kaam karta hai ki yeh Valentine’s Day alag se celebrate kare?”

“Veer bhai, aapko meri Khushi se kya problem.”

“Same problem jo tujhe mere romance karne se.”

Veer looked around to find Sam.

“Sam kahan hai?” Bani asked Daksh.

“So raha hai.” Daksh answered. He was reading a book.

“Iss ghar mein mere alawa aur koi nahi hai jise Valentine’s Day mein interest hai.” Ponky told Bani.

“Humare ghar mein teen hi log hai jo romantic hai. Tapish bhai, Veer bhai aur Sam. Teeno ko hi Valentine’s Day mein khaas interest nahi hai. Tapish bhai thinks the strict red theme is a bit annoying. He hates how everything is just heart-shaped that day. Sam toh jaake hi aaya hai pahadon se, usse expected hai ki Sam iss sabh se upar uth chuka hai. Par party ke naam pe hum saare ready ho jaate hai.” Daksh explained.

“Kabhi bina party kiye nahi reh sakte kya tum sabh?” Bani asked.

“Bhabhi, after a long time, kal lunch pe gaye the. Konsi party ki iss beech humne?” Ponky asked. Bani rolled her eyes.

After a moment, Sam walked down. He still looked sleepy.

“Ramesh kaka, meri coffee le aao.” He groaned.

“Good morning, sleepyhead.” Bani greeted him.

“Bhabhi, nothing is good about this morning.” He complained.

“Wow. Negative much? Tumhe kya problem hai Valentine’s Day se.”

“Bhabhi, 25 saal ka ho gaya hun. Abh baccho ki tarah aisa koi specific excitement nahi hoti ki haaye aaj Valentine’s Day hai. Aaj ke din toh propose karke romance karna hi hai. What nonsense?”

“Great attitude for people who call themselves romantic.”

“Bhabhi, aapko romance chahiye toh aap honeymoon pe hi chale jaao na.”

“Plus Sam ko strong belief hai ki uska 25 saal ke Valentine’s Day sabh hi unlucky hote hai. Isiliye Valentine’s Day is unlucky for him.” Veer added laughing.

“Kuch bhi…” Bani called out the superstition.

“I have proof. 14 February 1996. Veer bhai ne mera cradle tod diya and I had to sleep with Daksh in his cradle. 14th February 1997 Daksh started talking legible words. He started with learning planets and trying to teach me the names of planets. 14th February 1998 I lost my first tooth. That too middle one. 14th February 1999 Mom told me that she was going to give birth to two more idiots. 14th February 2000, I was left alone with the responsibility of two grabby babies. 14th February 2001 mom had decided to take her divorce. 14th February 2002 I fractured my leg. 14th February 2003 the teacher I used to have a tiny crush on got married. 14th February 2004 somehow Veer bhai managed to help Teer bhai escape from his imprisonment cage and Bade papa thought it was me. 14th February 2005 I fractured my wing. 14th February 2006 I lost a challenge. 14th February 2008 I had an accident. 14th February 2009 In the most cringy-est and cliché-est fashion Sanchit Verma asked Vanshika out and she said yes. God. Still gives me nightmares about how cringy it was. 14th February 2010 Both Veer bhai and I put in house arrest for going too crazy with our pranks. 14th February 2011 One of my closest friends shifted from Mumbai and left the city.”

“Acha okay okay… got your point but doesn’t mean this is a bad day for you. Just coincidences.”

“Coincidences don’t happen on the same day every year. That’s planning not coincidence.”

“How about this time you try to make it special? Tum khud Vanshika ko rose de ke dekho.”

“Bhabhi, it’s a bloody waste. The day is already unlucky for me. I’ll just keep my head down and silently get through these 24 hrs.”

Bani rolled her eyes.

“Phir party mein kyu aa rahe ho?”

“Bura din jaaye toh uske baad party hi acchi lagti hai, Bani.” Veer answered. Bani rubbed her forehead. Why was she bothering? These boys just enjoyed their nightlife too much.

“Agar tum log party kar rahe ho toh ghar decorate nahi karna?”

“We always go to the club on Valentine’s Day Party. Why waste time and energy on decorating the whole place while they already have it decorated.”

“Ek minute. But Sam stag entry kaise maarega? Its Valentine’s Day not sure if stag entry is allowed.”

“Samrat Singhania ke liye big deal nahi hai, Bhabhi. Iss Mumbai mein aisa koi club nahi jahan Veer bhai ya main stag entry nahi maar sakte.”

Bani should have guessed. Both of them had the kind of influence.

“By the way, Bhabhi, you’re up?” Daksh asked.

“Aapko aana chahiye. Mazaa aayega. Ek baar aap bhi humari life enjoy karke dekhlo.” Ponky suggested.

“Sawaal hai? Valentine’s Day pe Bhabhi ne agar Veer bhai ko akele jaane diya toh almost saari ladkiya un par line maarne lagengi.” Sam tried to provoke Bani.

“Shut up. Aisa kuch nahi hai. Veeranshu Cheel Singhania ki sirf ek hi sweetheart hai and that is me. Kisi aur ka number aayega bhi nahi.” Bani answered.

“Itna pyaar kahin main sapna toh nahi dekh raha.” Daksh teased.

“Sabhki kismat meri jaisi acchi nahi hoti.” Veer grinned.

By the evening, everyone got ready for the party.

“Tum sabh jaao. Main aur Daksh aate hai.” Veer told her. Sam nodded at that. Bani, Sam, and Ponky left for the club.

“Shakura ka kuch pata chala?” Veer asked Daksh as two of them went down to the basement room. Balwant and Pawan were already in the room with Shukla.

“Nahi. Pura island chaan mara. Main, Sam aur Ponky khud gaye the. Island pe toh bilkul nahi hai.”

“Kuch bola isne?” Veer asked Balwant and Pawan.

“Mujhe kaise kuch pata hoga? Kitne waqt se yahan band hun.” Shukla shouted.

“Theek hai. Chalo maan liya tujhe nahi pata ki Shakura kahan hai. Mujhe tu yeh bata tujhe Shakura ke baare mein kya pata hai.” Veer asked. “Dekh, Shukla. Tum mujhe acche se jaante ho. Main seedha seedha point pe aata hun. Agar galat fehmi paal rakhi hai ki Bani ke aane se main kisi ko marne ke style mein nahi raha toh galat hai. Cheelon ko kaise handle karna hota hai mujhe pata hai. Toh better hoga tu apne muh khol aur woh bata jo mujhe jaanna hai.”

“Banjar pahadi ke paas ek gufa hai. Wahan use sadiyo se chain mein jakada rakha tha. Bohot saari shaitani takat hai uske paas. Bohot se jaadu aate hai use. Usi mein se ek tha jisse usne kuch waqt ke liye Adi-Naagin ki takat cheen li thi. Shakura ko ek khaas chain mein jakada tha. Naagon ka jaadu hai uspe. Khaas naagon ka. Icchdhari Naag Naagino ka nahi. Original Naagon ke jaadu se jakada tha. Isiliye sirf Jay hi us chain ki bediyo ki chaabi laa paaya. Uske paas takat thi ki ek baar woh apna roop badal sakta hai.”

“Daksh, Sam aur Ponky ko text kardo. Party ke baad hum sabh banjar pahadi jaa rahe hai.”

“Shakura ko maar nahi sakte tum. Bohot hi shatir hai woh. Bohot khoonkhar.”

“Agar woh Shakura hai toh yeh Veer hai. Uski sirf shakal Aakesh se milti hai. Jeeta jagta Aakesh hai Veer.”

There were only a few cheels who were remembered throughout time for their achievements. Shakura was one of them. Veer tried to remember from his memory as Aakesh if he knew anything about Shakura. Well, Veer would blame his ego and super high confidence not needing to know about cheels who only were known for their strength. Even as Aakesh it was same. He didn’t care for those who were only relying on their strength.

“Shukla, mujhse better tujhe pata ki main kitna sanki aur junooni hun. Usne meri Bani ko touch kiya hai. Mere ghar aake meri biwi ke saath raha. As if that wasn’t enough, uski itni himmat hui hai ki Bani se shaadi bhi karne ki koshish ki.” Veer answered in a crazy tone. “Jo mujhe bha jaata hai meri pakad mein aa jaata hai, use chodta nahi.”

Veer got up and walked back up.

“Veer bhai, agar wahan jaane ke liye hume naagon ki shakti ki zaroorat hai toh Bhabhi ki help le sakte hai. It isn’t like Bhabhi ko Shakura se koi lagav hai. It isn’t case as that of Jay.” Daksh suggested.

“Nahi, Daksh. Problem Shakura nahi uss shakal ki hai jo Shakura use kar raha hai.”

“Aakesh?” Balwant asked confused.

“How is Aakesh the problem? Veer bhai, agar mujhe Bhabhi samajh aayi toh unhe phir bhi Shakura se koi lagav nahi hoga even if he looks like Aakesh. Jaise Markaat ne aapki body ko use kiya tha but Bhabhi ko Markaat se koi lagav nahi tha.” Daksh tried to suggest.

“Bani ka andaaz badla hai. She’s grown more accustomed to what is required of her to wear a crown, Daksh, but kahin na kahin Bani abhi andar se wahi Nageshwari hai. Naïve.”

“Veer, prove kya karna chahta hai?”

“Dad, maine notice kiya hai jabse Markaat ko maine maara hai, Bani mein ek change aaya hai. Bani ke dil mein Aakesh ke liye nafrat toh khatam hui but she has so many questions jo use pareshaan karte the. Like she would desperately look for answers. Markaat ko maine maar diya uske baad se its seems like she’s found her answers. Aur jabse use uske jawaab mile hai, she’s changed. Every time I mention Aakesh, she had that guilt in her eyes. Batayegi nahi but hai. Uske sawaalo se samajh aata hai.”

“Bani ko guilt hai? Woh bhi Aakesh ko marne ka? Baat kuch hazam nahi hui.”

“Dad, main Bani ke ragh ragh se wakif hun. Uski aankhon mein dekh ke bata sakta hun uske dil mein kya hai. Mistake ho hi nahi sakti. Kuch toh hai jo usne samjha hai aur usi wajah se yeh guilt aaya hai uske dil aur dimaag mein. It weighs her down. Bani is powerful but an emotional idiot.”

“Bani teri biwi hai, Veer.” Balwant pointed out as Veer called her an idiot. Veer raised an eyebrow at Balwant. He chuckled.

“Dad, Bani is controlled by her emotions. In fact, maine jitne bhi Naagin dekhe hai, they run on emotions. Bani, Vanshika, Aishwarya, Bela, Shreya Kashyap, sabh. All of them run on emotions. That’s their weak point and their strong point. To a point where it almost becomes their sole strength and weakness. That makes them extremely powerful but at the same time easy to manipulate. Yeh baat Shakura se chupi nahi hogi. Bani emotional hai.”

“Phir bhi use pata hai ki woh Aakesh nahi hai.”

“Dad, aapko yaad hai uss din Chandrakala ne jaal bichaya tha mere. Sabh bol rahe the that the image of mom isn’t real. Bani ne kaha woh sach nahi hai. Aapne kaha woh sach nahi hai. Andar thoda yakeen ho raha tha ki shayad woh mom nahi but the emotion attached with her is so powerful that it overwhelmed me. Khich ke control karne mein mushkil hoti hai jabh saamne dikhne wala dil ki bohot kareeb ho. The soul is weak to emotions. Yeh problem har insaan ke saath hoti hai. Bani ka emotion jo abh Aakesh ke saath juda hai, it is really strong. Guilt strong hota hai, dad. Maybe we don’t feel it in that force but she does. Hum cheelon mein guilt ya toh kam hota hai ya phir non-existent. Kyuki we run on our animalistic instincts, not emotions. Emotions influence karti hai humari harkatein but that isn’t our fuel.”

“Veer bhai, aap keh rahe hi Bhabhi Shakura ko dekh ke Aakesh ke baare mein sochengi?”

“Uss do takke ke dhabewale ne Shakura ko Satyug ka sabh kuch bataya hai. All that happened between Nageshwari and Aakesh. Isiliye Shakura ko pata hai Aakesh ke baare mein. Phir Markaat ke saath raha and aur bohot saari cheezein jaani Aakesh ke baare mein. Shakura Bani ko manipulate karega. Pick at her weakest spot.”

“Phir Bani ko usse dur rakhe toh accha hoga.”

“Isiliye Sam ko uske saath hi rakha hai. Bani Markaat tak pe attack nahi kar paayi jab woh meri body mein tha. I don’t know if she can escape Shakura’s trap.”

“Tum sabh apne Aankhen, kaan aur dimaag khule rakhna.” Balwant told Veer and Daksh.

Veer’s phone rang and it was Bani.

“Kahan ho? Hum already pohoch chuke hai.” Bani complained.

“Bas aa rahe hai.” Veer answered.

“Acha, theek hai. Jaldi aao.” She cut the call with that. Veer knew that he couldn’t let Bani be caught up with Shakura in any way. He was like a wounded wild animal and he wouldn’t hesitate to attack her. Chances are that he’s done with his obsession to marry her and now is down to kill her. Or maybe he’ll kidnap her off and get worse with her. Veer knew she was strong enough to fend for herself if he got aggressive with her or tried anything but he did worry. Shakura could twist around.

Veer sat in a car and quickly drove ahead towards the club. He saw Bani sitting on the edge of the small boundary wall put as decoration outside the club with Sam and Tapish with her. Ponky was already off flirting with a girl. Bani saw the car and stood up. She was wearing a red dress and Veer was wearing black outfit. Throwing the car keys to the valet, Veer jogged up to her.

“Sorry, sweetheart.” He uttered as he led her inside.

“Ek toh main yahan tumhare kehne pe aayi hun aur tum hi late aaye.” She complained. He chuckled.

“Sweetheart, 10 minute tumse dur raha toh itna miss kar rahi ho.”

“Actually 18 minutes. Maine time check kiya hai.”

“Sweetheart, aise toh tum jab kaam pe jaaogi toh kaise concentrate karogi apne kaam par?”

“Haan, tabh main busy rahungi na kaam mein toh time nahi milega tumhe miss karne ka. Abhi koi kaam thodi na tha.”

He put his arm around her neck and walked with her. The boys reached for the bar counter. Daksh and Ponky made their entry with Mehek and Dehek. Meera was talking while Tapish tapped away on the phone. Meera stopped and looked at Tapish. He continued typing away on the phone correcting several parts of the deal. Bani and Veer looked at Meera and chuckled. Veer snatched away Tapish’s phone.

“Tapish bhai, Meera kuch bol rahi hai.”

“Haan. Sun raha tha. Abh bolna band kar diya hai toh kya sunu?”

“Thoda sa attention de do.”

Tapish snatched back his phone from Veer.

“Sun raha hun. Bolegi toh sununga.”

“Tapish bhai, kyu Meera ka dil tod rahe ho.”

Meera looked at Veer with confusion. Where did that come from?

“Itna scene nahi hai Meera ke side se ki main 100% attention nahi dun toh iska dil-wil toot jaaye.”

“Mean, Tapish bhai, that was mean.” Bani commented. Tapish rubbed his head and sighed.

“I was assuming ki kam se kam tum mera side logi but lagta hai Veer Singhania ka charm puri tarah tum par chadh gaya hai aur Veer ki saari baatein sahi lag rahi hai.”

“Tapish bhai, raat ka nasha hai. Samjha karo. Mahol Thanda hai, jawani garam hai. Cheezein hoti hai.” Sam teased. Bani shoved him. Everyone laughed. “Itna kya sharma rahi ho, Bhabhi. Come on. Veeranshu Singhania pati ho aur raat boring ho toh Veer bhai ki image par khatra hai.”

“Aur main apni image ko bohot seriously leta hun.” Veer grinned.

“Mujhe lagta hai Vanshika aa gayi hai aur yahan club ki bheed mein hume dhundh nahi paayegi.” Meera thought out loud.

“Meera, agar V yahan aayi hai toh pata chal jaayega.” Veer assured her. Veer grinned. Vanshika at times resembled more as a Singhania than a Kashyap. They had stopped being in the same circles but he did know about her. The way everyone knows a Singhania is in the club, people knew when Vanshika was in the club. She was the wild child.

The music was blaring in the club. Bani wasn’t the one for loud noises but almost everyone in the club was either completely drunk or half-way drunk. Bani and Meera had never been to a club before. Mehek Dehek had once gone for a senior’s birthday party.

“This one is for you, V. Finally, long break ke baad wapas aayi hai. Pichle ek saal se pure club scene se hi gayab ho gayi thi.” The DJ announced. Veer pointed his head to that.

“Told you.” Veer grinned. A few people started greeting hi hello with her. She returned. She grinned once she found the Singhanias. Deep green corset top, a leather skirt and shin length boots.

“Ciao, V.” Some guy greeted her.

“Hi, Melvin.” Vanshika grinned at him. She gave him a hi-five. “Kritika se kehna I said hi to her.”

“Sure.”

Vanshika gave Veer a fist bump.

“Two things. Pehle, Meera di actually short dress mein aayi hai. Dusri, dono ko convince bhi kaise kiya?” She asked laughed. She turned to the bartender. “Adi…”

“Tumhare shots?” He asked.

“Thank you tumhe yaad raha.” She answered laughing. She passed her the tray with shots. “Cheer?” She asked Veer, Sam and Tapish.

“Cheer.” They took the drinks. Veer looked at Bani while he drank.

“Ya toh problem sharab mein ya phir you have an ability to just get more hotter.” Veer commented to her.

“Shayad yeh tumhari Aankhen hai.” She answered with a smile. “But sharab mein problem toh hai.”

Veer chuckled. Sam and Vanshika had started to have a shot challenge.

“V, naak mat katana.” Veer told Vanshika. Tapish chuckled. Bani just sat on the bar stool. One of girls showed up next to Veer.

“Koi drink loge?” She asked him.

“He prefers whiskey.” Bani answered for Veer. Veer grinned. The girls could get a hint from Bani’s possessive tone that Veer was already taken.

“Veer bhai club mein aaye nahi ki ladkiya already attention de rahi hai unhe.” Ponky teased.

“After all, yeh Veer bhai hai.” Daksh added.

“See why I didn’t want to come. Yahan baith ke hawaldar wali duty karni pad rahi hai.” Bani pointed. “Yahan baith ke logo ko samjhana pad raha hai ki janab yahan public property nahi hai. They can try somewhere else.”

Everyone laughed. Veer offered her a hand. Bani gave him her hand. The two were dancing together. Almost all the couples on the floor were lost in each other.

Veer gave her a bouquet of carnations.

"Since tumhe especially Valentine's Day pe phool chahiye and you don't like roses."

"Thank you."

Today's update felt like a full circle! You started the first update from here! Veer and bani in this mountain house! Actually. In that way, the mountain house is close to my heart. Its the first time she admits that Veer is a good husband just that she has thought which don't allow her to admit she loves him.

Wonder what your inspiration could be😆 I don't know. I generally think Vani have that kind of chemistry.

I don't know, I feel they are like teenage version of Veer and Bani😆 It would be fun to see things heating up a bit between them too😉😉😉 Sam is like a forbidden fruit for Vanshika for long time now! The tank of attraction and angst is full in her maybe😆 It would be fun if it would burst unconsciously😆 Though, the falling in love phase for her is yet to come maybe waiting for that love story to unfold too Well, Vanshika is quite different from Bani but have some similarities in those aspects.
