Updates are amazing...Uff I can visualize scenes...

I have a question, how come veer and the brothers team entered the temple yaar? In the series, they don't have this rule that they should be invited or did I miss anything?

What about Jayyyyyyyyyyy? Did he die?

Very well written...

Twice, i tried replying to the comment, twice but then i would begin reading the update again...then i revisited the previous updates!!!..uff so here is it, finally!!

First of all, half century done...yaaayy!! Paarrtttyyy!!!❤️🥳

On to the question, yesss you really need to post this on wattpad. 2 reasons,

1. Usually after some time (2-3 years) stories on IF get lost or get deleted somehow and we don't want that to happen with this masterpiece do we?? And yes, there are people like me who revisit ffs years later!!🤭

2. The way their relationship is progressing, vani are reaching a certain stage of intimacy. Assuming you are fine and comfortable writing mature scenes, it would be better on wattpad because wattpad has no restrictions in that context!!

And we all saw your reply to one the comments okay,😆

We'll be expecting daily updates now!!😛(Word- there's no pressure, but....no really,🤭 take your time!!)

Okay the update, I am kinda in love with fierce bani. 😳

The way she was adamant that the only one she's answerable to is her god!! Well, technically isn't adi naagin the oldest naagin to exist. I mean she has a life span (in context to her existence) ranging from satyug to kaliyug!!

Show a little respect, you uptight asses!!

What was up with shreya and her popularity jaap!! Ye koi college ki fresher's party hai kya!!

Sometime back you held a position that was highly regarded. You were naagrani for god's sake, accountable and responsible for lotta things. That whole of naaglok depended on you. Then you go ahead and vomit up stupid stuff like that??!!🙂

Dhaabevale, please go ahead and decide tumhe chaiye kya, chahte kya ho tum?? Kehte ho bani ko paana hai fir usse maarne ki koshish krte ho!!

Aur nhi ye jo tumne naaglok ko bhadkaane ka plan bnaya tha, seriously ek baar bhi dimaag main nhi aaya kya ki bani bhi tumhari kartooton ke baare main sabko bta degi!! Muy estupido!!!😳

Hehe, naags were really shocked when cheels came forward to protect bani and were becoming angry on her behalf!! I don't think naag naagins would ever understand (or even try) how their adi naagin's dynamic works with cheels. And that would always keep them on the suspicious side!!

For cheels, family means everything, it's the naags who are independent in nature. And for singhania's now, bani (adi naagin or not) is family.

(I do really need/want a scene where singhania's discuss bani wihout veeranshu or bani being present)😬

Slowly and steadily, cheels are getting used to listening to Bani's orders along with veer. As sam said, "Bhai, agar aap raja hai humare toh aapki patni toh us rishte se humari rani hui na."

They'll soon realise Bani's ways of handling things are quite different then veeranshu. She is capable of forgiveness, grace, kindness (that veer isn't capable of except for and with his family) and ruthlessness as well!!

The scene where bani pushed ponky behind her was an amazing one, after sam and tapish, bani has begun considering ponky and daksh her own as well.

Adi naagin's anger!! Oofff, That slam on floor and temple shaking. Really well written👏

Mayank, the level headed one!!

The fruition of vision was👏👏

Veer shock at Bani's violence kinda shows his thinking process. Till now, he knew that bani was very powerful and when angry she could kill ruthlessly. He had also heard from numerous sources that bani could easily stand up to him in a fight. But, he could never believe it. Even when he got to know that she had killed 14 cheels, he was kinda in denial (if that's the way.. I'm not getting the word for it). Now he's gonna believe it!!

The inclusion of shakti element, noice!! Reminded of the scene in the show where veeranshu calls bani adi shakti!!

I have nothing to say about the marriage, it was well written and ahmazing!!! Veer baby, the only difference between you and bani is that you don't hide your sankipan for bani, she hides hers really well, so well ki tumhe bhi idea nhi hai how crazy she is for you!!🤣

Bani letting jay bleed and not caring if he dies, made me so happy. Jo bani show main chaiye thi vo yha mil rhi hai!!😪

Chachu and kushal are soo sweet!! Shreya, naagrani hone ke saath saath aap ek dadi bhi hai. Vo duty toh krlo!!😾

Jitni lambi tumhari update hoti hai na, utna lamba mera review hone lga hai!! I'll have to learn to control myself henceforth 🤣

Baaki abhi toh form mai hu, toh ye vali lelo!!🤣

I like rishi and Kartik, i want more of them.

If they gel up with the cheels the way vanshika has, they're gonna be a strong asset to singhania's. From now on whenever i refer to singhania's it includes bani as well. Ab toh apni marzi se shaadi bhi krli ladki ne😂🤭

Rishi and kartik, chupe rustums!!

Kakot is back, this time i hope he is here to stay!!

Waah re, kya kismat paayi hai aakesh, baanke bihari ki bansi sunne ka mauka lakhon mai se ek ko milta hai!!

A really good lesson, drive to win is needed but the reason behind that drive is also important, sometimes more important than the win itself!!

Dikhega veer, ho sakta hai tumhe vhi insaan fir se dikh hi jaye!! Kaafi gehra connection hai cheelu baby ka narayan se huh!!

Dream catcher,really ballu!!🤣

I knew it, i knew it that veeranshu is not back in his form, not fully atleast. Because that old veeranshu would never be so sacrificing!! For his sweetheart sure, but not with anyone else, no one else!!!

I loovee that in your ff, all the cheel brothers love each other equally. Daksh's anger at veer's words was well justified. *Slight shade being thrown..guess at who??*. Veer baby, words have power to hurt really badly!!!

It's gonna be that simple, bani is gonna wish for his powers to be back(assuming she's gonna wish for that only) and done dana done dan!!

Nah, what twist are you planning to throw at us??😳

Chapter 51

Bani sighed.

"Main chahti hun ki Veeranshu ko uski cheel shaktiya wapas mil jaaye..." Bani wished. When the feather did nothing. Bani hissed in annoyance.

"Bhabhi, iss pankh ko rub karke dekho." Ponky suggested.

"Oye, idiot, yeh feather hai genie ka lamp nahi." Daksh hit him on the head.

"Chaar ghante se try kar rahi hun. I think it is all bullshit ki feathers wish grant karte hai." Bani complained.

Tapish continued to eat his food.

"Bani, kyu bekaar mein time waste kar rahi ho? Veer ne kaha na ki even this can't give him back his wish." He told her.

"Toh kya karun? Bas aise hi haath par haath dhare baith jaau? Main Veer ko aise nahi dekh sakti, Tapish bhai. Itna maayus. Jaise usse sabh kuch cheen liya ho." Bani explained sitting at the dining table sighing. "Aisa kuch hai kya ki because it is Garud's feather, it isn't listening to someone from naagvansh?"

"Naah. Technically, it should listen to everyone. They're wish granting feathers." Sam added. Sam and Veer got into a fight earlier with how Veer was asking Sam to take the place as Cheel Rajkumar.

"Bani, don't mind me but mujhe bhi nahi lagta ki Veer ki cheel shaktiya wapas aayengi? Unless he goes back to Markaat which isn't an option. I want to rather try and cheer up Veer. Jabse wapas aaye hai, he hasn't even smiled a bit. Pura depressed ho gaya hai." Tapish told her.

"I don't know why but mujhe aisa lagta hai he can still get back his cheel powers." Bani answered. "For some reason, I have that feeling."

"Jo bhi hai, lets try to get him to cheer up."

"Hmmm..."

Balwant and Pawan had gone out for some business meeting.

"Acha, tum kuch socho. I'll try to get some work done." Tapish told her and left for work.

"Bhabhi, hum hum sabh cheel gufa jaake aate hai. We'll try to find out if anything can be possible." Sam suggested and left with Ponky and Daksh.

Veer had walked down from their room when Bani went up. He sat down and poured himself some whiskey.

"Ramesh kaka, sabh kahan hai?" Veer asked.

"Balwant saab aur Pawan saab toh business meeting pe Pune gaye hai. Tapish baba toh office gaye hai. Samrat baba, Daksh baba aur Pankaj baba toh sabh bahar gaye hai." He replied.

"Bani?"

"Bani bitiya toh ghar pe hi hai. Abhi abhi toh upar aapke kamre mein gayi thi."

"Humare room mein? Main wahin se toh aa raha hun. Bani wahan nahi hai. Anyway. Accha hi hai. Thodi der toh akela choda warna sabh peeche hi padh gaye hai." Veer sighed. "Baithiye Ramesh kaka. Aaj aap aur main peg lagate hai. Kya piyoge? Whiskey? Wine? Vodka? Scotch? Brandy? Beer? Rum? Gin? Kya?"

"Veer baba, aapke saath baithke kaise pi sakta hun?" He asked.

"Kya kaka? Aapko update nahi mila kya? Main aur aap abh same category mein hai. Dono insaan hai. So, who cares? Baitho. Insaan-insaan ke beech kya fark. Same species ke hai hum dono abh." Veer commented.

"I'll go with red wine. Kaka, aap?" Bani asked. Dressed in a short dress, his boots, her long hair tied in a high ponytail leaving a few strands out. She wore some of Veer's old rings. Veer shook his head to check if he was dreaming.

"Main wahin kitchen mein hun agar aapko kuch chahiye toh." Ramesh kaka said and left with a smile.

"Gharwali, tumse request hai. Please don't drink. Talli hone ke baad tum mujhe torture karti ho." Veer told her. Bani chuckled.

"Tum toh pi rahe ho."

"Gharwali, mera alcohol tolerance high hai."

"Tum mera nashe mein hone ka fayda uthaoge kya?"

"Moral aur ethics iska allowance nahi deta."

"As if you're on to follow them strongly." She scoffed as she poured a glass of wine. Veer decided he'd take a chance with one glass so took away the bottle from her.

"I have few morals but I stick to them."

"Bore mat karo, Veeranshu. Dekho itna haseen mauka phir nahi milega. Ghar pe koi nahi hai..." She winked at him.

"Tumhare iraade kuch theek nahi lag rahe. Mujhe apni izzat ki tension ho rahi hai."

"Acha?" Bani hopped off the stool and walked closer to him. Veer leaned back on the counter to keep some distance. "Jab tum aise mujhe corner karte ho, tabh mujhe bhi aisa hi lagta. Especially since tumhare iraade kuch zyaada hi off tangent hote hai matter se."

She moved even more close to him. Almost could feel his racing heart beat.

"Sweetheart, t... tumne ch...chadha rakhi hai kya?"

"Nahi toh."

Bani leaned ahead. Veer almost thought that they were going to kiss but Bani picked up the wine glass and moved away. The loss of Bani cutting into his private space made him a little conscious. He would have generally given in but then he remembered that she could hear his heart beat. Then remembered that she was still Adi-Naagin. It brought him back to the thought that he lost his powers.

He got up and tried to leave, his mood already ruined. Bani tried to stop him but he freed his hand from her grasp.

The music started playing. Veer turned to look at Bani. He rolled his eyes and tried to leave but she stopped him. She lip synced to the song.

Sona kitna sona hai

Sone jaise tera man

Sun zara sun kya kehti hai

Deewane dil ki dhadkan

Sona kitna sona hai

Sone jaise tera man

Sun zara sun kya kehti hai

Deewane dil ki dhadkan

Tu mera tu mera tu mera

Tu mera tu mera hero no.1

Tu mera tu mera tu mera

Tu mera tu mera hero no.1

She winked at him and put her arms around his neck, making him dance with her but he tried to leave. He sat at the dining table looking at her.

Haan sona kitna sona hai

Sone jaise tera man

Sun zara sun kya kehti hai

Deewane dil ki dhadkan

Tu mera tu mera tu mera

Tu mera tu mera hero no.1

Tu mera tu mera tu mera

Tu mera tu mera hero no.1

Bani sat next to him but he tried to leave. She pushed him back and sat up on the table.

Hero tu mera hero hai

Villain jaisa kaam na kar

Sapnon ki is raani ko

Aise to badnaam na kar

He tried to get up and leave but Bani grabbed his collar and made him sit. She put both her legs on both the arms of the chair, almost flaunting them to him. Veer looked at them.

Hero tu mera hero hai

Villain jaisa kaam na kar

Sapnon ki is raani ko

Aise to badnaam na kar

Deewane yaar kehta hai

Pyaar achchha nahin deewanapan

Tu mera tu mera tu mera

Tu mera tu mera hero no 1

Tu mera tu mera tu mera
Tu mera tu mera hero no 1

She winked at him and tilted her head to look at him the way he looks at her. Veer chuckled. A moment later, she pushed the chair a little behind and sat down on his lap.

Andar kitni garmi hai

Baahar kitni sardi hai

Tune bedardi meri

Haalat kaisi kar di hai

He pushed her away and tried to leave. She ran up the stairs ahead and took a free fall at him, Veer caught her before she fell down.

"Bani..." He tried to tell her. He made her stand and tried to leave but she put her arm around his neck pulled him close to her. Her wink almost made him skip a heartbeat.

Oof andar kitni garmi hai

Baahar kitni sardi hai

Tune bedardi meri

Haalat kaisi kar di hai

Dil mein basaale apna banaale

Yoon na badha meri uljhan

Tu mera tu mera tu mera

Tu mera tu mera hero no.1

Tu mera tu mera tu mera

Tu mera tu mera hero no.1

He gave a smile while rubbing his temples. He twirled her around. Singing along with her. Bani smiled. The two danced.

Sona kitna sona hai

Sone jaise tera man

Sun zara sun kya kehti hai

Deewane dil ki dhadkan

Sona kitna sona hai

Sone jaise tera man

Sun zara sun kya kehti hai

Deewane dil ki dhadkan

Main tera main tera main tera

Main tera main tera hero no.1

Haan tu mera tu mera

Tu mera tu mera tu mera hero no.1.

Veer just looked at her as the two sat on the sofa. Bani look at him. She had her legs crossed at the ankles and on his lap. She leaned her back against the far end of the sofa. If the look in his eyes were any hint, Bani knew that right beneath the surface was Veeranshu Singhania. Her old, way too confident and crazy Veeranshu Singhania.

"Veer..." That was all it took for Veer to grab her ankle and pull her to him. His fingers traced the exposed leg. Bani wrapped her arms around him. He picked her up and took her to their room. Closing the door behind them, Veer threw her on the bed. Climbing up over her, he pulled out the shirt ends that she tucked inside her skirt and let his hands feel her skin.

Bani pulled him and kissed his lips. There was passion in the way they kissed. He let his hands trace the skin under her shirt. Her skin was soft. Veer trailed kissed down her jaw and neck. She sighed. Her fingers found themselves in his hair. She sighed. Bani tugged on his shirt and he pulled it off, throwing it away. He took off her shirt. The way he stared at her body, made her blush. He let himself feel her. His hands traced her upper body while kissing her.

The heat off both of them was intense. While Bani was burning with desire, Veer was trying to find himself again in her. He wanted it. He had always wanted to make her his. Completely. She was right there. Exactly where he wanted. Exactly how he wanted. He felt so lost. He almost badly wanted to remember who he was and tried to find himself again. She was sober. She wanted it too. She was letting him take it. But still Veer couldn't help.

He got up and sat on the bed. She couldn't understand the suddenly change of mind. He seemed in a mood. She got up.

"Kya hua?" She asked. Was it something about her? Veer held his head, trying to hide himself. Bani pulled him up and made her look at him. "Kya hua, Veer? Its okay if you don't want to do this."

"Bani, I don't know. Nahi ho raha mujhse." His voice broke. He wanted to cry but the tears wouldn't come. "Nahi pretend kar paa raha ki sabh theek ho jaayega. I want to be happy for you because I know that everytime you see me breaking down, tumhe bhi dard hota hai. But nahi ho paa raha hai. I don't know who I am anymore, Bani." He made her wear his shirt.

"Veer, I want you to be who you are. I want you to express what you feel. Theek hai na ki abhi tum khush nahi ho. Its okay to be sad. Its okay to break down and say that you can't bear it."

"Bani, mujhe pata hai kitna intezaar kiya hai maine tumhare liye. To be exactly here. With you. To know that you own me and I own you. Mujhe pata hai maine kitna intezaar kiya tumhara hone ke liye. Par pata nahi kyu. You don't deserve to have me like this broken and damaged."

"Mujhe dekho, Veer." He looked at her. "We're all damaged in someway or the other. None of us are perfect. Kuch ghaav bharne mein waqt lagta hai par aisa toh nahi hota ki woh kabhi bharenge hi nahi. Main nahi keh rahi ki tum ek baar mein theek ho jaao. Tumhari zindagi mein tumhare liye tumhare pankh azaadi ke symbol the. Like all the birds. Theek hai. Natural si baat hai ki agar tumne use khoya hai toh toot gaye ho. Dheere dheere theek honge, Veer. Tum aur main. Dono mil ek saath. Because maine vaada kiya hai ki meri aankhri saans tak main tumhare saath hun. Chot lagi hai toh dono milke uspe dawai lagayenge. Kon kehta hai ki tumhe ek baar mein theek hona hai?"

"Bani, agar main kabhi theek nahi hua toh? Shouldn't you deserve to be happy. Jo tumhe sach mein woh sabh de sake jo tum deserve karti ho."

"Veer, yeh batao mujhe kya aaj bhi tumhe yahi lagta hai ki tum mujhse iss duniya mein sabse zyaada pyaar karte ho?"

"Mujhse zyaada koi tumse pyaar nahi kar sakta, Bani."

"Bas. Mujhe toh utna hi chahiye. Jab tak tumhe yeh yakeen hai ki iss duniya mein tumse zyaada mujhe koi pyaar nahi kar sakta, tabh tak mere liye tumse zyaada koi nahi ho sakta."

She kissed his cheeks.

"Tum mere ho. Jaise bhi ho. Toote ho ya pure ho. Tum bas mere ho. Mujhe tum chahiye. Jaise bhi ho. I just want you to be with me. Even if you're broken now, its okay."

"Bani, I'm sorry. Main aise tumhe ...." He didn't want to ruin her mood because he's getting all crazy in the head.

Bani took him to the balcony. She brought a blanket and some pillows.

"Mere liye tum kaafi ho. Bas." She assured him. She made him sit on the sofa set in the balcony and snuggled up to him. Covering them with the blanket. Her back resting against his chest. She was almost lying down between his legs. Veer held her close to him and closed his eyes. She was holding one of his hands and his other hand on her waist under the shirt.

"Bani, maine hum dono ke ek hone ka intezaar bohot zyaada kiya. Since the first moment I saw you. Matlab pyaar toh bohot hai tumse, Bani, but not gonna deny that I have that intense sexual attraction to you. Or maybe it is because of how much I want to make you mine. Kyuki iska itna intezaar kiya hai, I don't want to ruin it. I want it to be perfect. Ek bhi cheez teekh se nahi hui toh I wouldn't be able to get over it being ruined. Isiliye main aage nahi badhna chahta tha. That's why I stopped. I felt it was less about being with you but more about trying find myself inside you. Not how I want it to be."

Chapter 52

Everyone had gone for their work. Even Bani had gone to check things up in Naaglok by the afternoon. Veer was alone at home. Bani was hesitant to go but Veer insisted her to go.

"Ramesh kaka, aap kya karte ho jab kuch bhi karne ko na ho toh?" Veer asked drinking brandy.

"Main toh gharwalo ke liye kaam karta hun, Veer baba. Aap sabh ka breakfast, lunch, snacks aur dinner banana. Baaki kaam karna. Iss sabh mein hi din kat jaata hai."

"Oh..."

Ramesh kaka gave Veer a box. Veer was confused. Veer opened the box. There were several photographs, small canvas paintings, some old jewelry box. An old painted dupatta. A handkerchief. Some perfumes and old toys. There were several letters and cards. Veer smiled at seeing them.

"Yeh Teer baba ki sabse keemti cheezein thi. Unhe aise box mein rakh ke apne bistar ke neeche rakhte the."

"Teer bhai?"

"Haan. Teer baba ko khaana khilane ki zimmedari meri ho jaati thi toh unke saath baithta tha jab tak woh khana na kha le. Kabhi kabhi aap, Tapish baba aur Samrat baba bhi aa jaya karte the. Teer baba apne dil ki baat keh lete the mujhse. Teer baba ne sabse zyaada aapse pyaar kiya hai."

"Aur shayad meri wajah se maare bhi gaye."

"Teer baba uss din se pehle tak keh rahe the ki unhe aapse kisi Naagin ki smell aa rahi thi."

"Kya? Naagin ki? But Bani ka scent toh kisi ko pata nahi chalta. Woh speciality hai Bani ki."

"Teer baba ko humesha ki woh cheezein dikh aur samajh aa jaati thi jo kisi ko nahi dikhti and samajh aati. Tapish baba ko bhi yahi doubt hua ki Bani bitiya ka aapse koi rishta hai."

"Yeh cheezein mujhse kabhi kyu nahi kahi?"

Ramesh kaka laughed.

"Aap toh humesha hi apne aasmaan mein the. Zameen par kya tha, usse aapne kabh dekha tha?"

Veer looked at him.

"Aap hi bata dijiye. Aapko Veer mein kya dikhta hai?"

"Ishana."

"Mom? Mujhmein aur maa mein bohot difference. Sach kahun toh humesha chahta tha ki maa ki art skills mujhe bhi milti par sirf Teer bhai ko mili."

"Aapko humesha dekha toh Ishana hi yaad aayi. Ziddi. Confident. Junooni, jo baat keh di use kar ke dikhane ki aadat, apne aap ko sabse upar rakhne ki aadat. Apno ko khud se zyaada pyaar karne ki. Jaise Bani bitiya ke liye aapka pyaar sabse upar hai, waise hi apne baccho ke liye unka pyaar sabse upar raha hai. Jaise aap jaldi cheezein samajh lete hai waise hi Ishana bhi jaldi samajh jaati thi."

"Woh toh mom ki traits aayi hai, Ramesh kaka. Usse main aur mom ek jaise thodi na ho jaate hai."

"Aap unke bete hai. Jinko unhone 9 mahine apni kok mein rakha hai. Yeh toh nahi badla jaa sakta tha. Aap humesha hi unke bete rahenge chahe jo bhi ho. Usi tarah se mujhe aap mein humesha hi woh dikh jaati hai. Kabhi aap mein. kabhi Tapish baba mein aur Teer baba mein."

"Tapish bhai ne toh humesha hi hum sabhka khayal rakha hai."

Veer saw a photograph of two boys with a woman familiar to Veer. His chachi.

"Jeet aur Vishal."

"Yeh Teer bhai ke paas kaise aayi?" Veer was surprised. He took out the letters and then realized that those were all from his chachi toh Teer. The last letter dated just a day before his wedding with Bani. He opened it.

Teer,

Kaise ho? Kaafi waqt se tumhari koi letter nahi aayi toh socha main hi likh dun. Apni dawaiya li na? Mujhe abhi kaafi accha lagta hai. I guess, I am finally moving on from the long standing pain. I keep trying not to let my past affect Jeet and Vishal but sometimes they seem to notice. I know it is odd to them. Kabhi kabhi toh wish karti hun ki kaash ek baar tum sabh bhi mere saamne hote. Jaise Jeet aur Vishal hai. Veer ko dekhe arso ho gaye. Shayad aaj bhi gussa hai. Daksh ki toh puchne ki hi zaroorat nahi hai. Mujhe pata hai shayad iss janam mein kabhi mujhe maaf nahi kar paayega. Par kya karun, uski yaad bohot aati hai. Aakhir mera pehla baccha hai woh. Tapish toh kaafi zyaada bada ho gaya hai. Last time I remember, he was still 10 years old. 20 saal ho gaye Tapish, Veer, Daksh, Pankaj aur Monil ko dekhe hue. Samrat ko dekhe hue 15 saal ho gaye.

Yeh sabh kya bol rahi hun. Tum batao. Tum kaise ho? Maine tumhari painting exhibition dekhi thi. I swear. Itni pyaari hai. I have some of them at my home. Tum theek se waqt par khana aur dawaiya kha lena. Don't forget to take care of yourself. Apna acche se khyal rakhna. Meri taraf se din mein ek baar chocolate milkshake pi lena. Ramesh kaka ki banayi chocolate milkshake bohot acchi lagti thi. Waise, don't ever think that you're alone. Chahe physical distance hum dono ke beech kitna hi kyu na hon, tum humesha mere dil mein ho. Tum sabh. Ek baccha apni maa ke dil se bohot dur nahi ho sakta.

Anyways, waiting to receive a letter back from you,

Love,
Ahana.

"Chachi teer bhai ko letters likhti thi? Aur Teer bhai unhe letters likhte the?" Veer asked Ramesh kaka.

"Haan. Ek din Teer baba ne mujhse request kiya ki main unki yeh chitti Ahana tak pohocha dun. Toh letters post karke aata tha. Apni pocket money se paise bacha ke mujhse kehte the ki main unke liye letters de aau. Balwant saab ko pata chalta toh letters band ho jaate toh chupke se unke letters le aata aur bhej deta. Aati mere naam pe thi toh Balwant saab ko pata nahi chalta tha." Ramesh kaka answered.

In that moment, Ponky walked in. Veer stuffed the letters back in the box hurriedly.

"Ponky? Wapas aa gaya?" Veer asked.

"Veer bhai, haan. Sam aur Daksh abhi wahin hai. They're trying to sort the mess. Mujhe yahan wapas bhej diya." Ponky said. He walked up and his eyes fell on the box.

"Gift aaya hai kya?"

Before Veer could stop him, Ponky had already started to open the box.

"Oh hooo.... letters...." Ponky teased.

"Nahi. Yeh sabh Teer bhai ke hai." Veer snatched the letters and put them back in the box.

"Kya? Toh padhne do na. Kya fark padta hai? Teer bhai abhi hai nahi ki unhe bura lagega ki main unke letters padh raha hun." Ponky took it back and opened. The grin changed to a look when he realized who wrote the letter.

Veer looked at Ramesh kaka.

"Mom Teer bhai ko letters likhti thi?" Ponky asked. He didn't even remember how his mother looked when he was taken away from her. Around 1 and a half years old. Ponky never spoke much about his mother because he didn't remember her. Daksh would refuse to have a conversation about her. They just didn't poke Sam at his broken side. Ponky didn't really know about his mother. Almost nothing. Ahana was a topic his father never brought up. Balwant wouldn't speak about her.

"Teer baba ne unhe khud chitti likhi thi. Akela mehsoos kar rahe the toh unhe Ahana ki yaad aa gayi. Isiliye mujhse request kiya ki main chupke se Ahana tak yeh chitti bhej dun. Unhe laga ki unke akelepan ko sirf Ahana hi samajh paayengi. Uske baad Ahana unhe chittiya likhti thi. Unhone koshish kiya ki aap sabh se baat ho paaye par Balwant saab aur Pawan saab ne kabhi woh chittiya pohochne hi nahi di." Ramesh kaka explained to Ponky.

Ponky didn't know how to react. He ran his hands through the letter. The beautiful cursive writing. Ponky presumed that Daksh got his handwriting from their mother.

"Aap Teer bhai ki chittiya aur unki chittiya Teer bhai tak pohochate the bina kisi ko pata chale?" Ponky asked.

"Teer baba ne mujhse kaha tha iske liye." Ramesh kaka was worried thinking how Ponky would react.

"Unhone ek baar aapke liye ek chitti likhi thi par kabhi dene ki himmat nahi hui Balwant saab ko aapke aas paas dekh ke." Ramesh kaka told Veer. "Maine use Teer baba ko de di ki Teer baba use aapko dein. Aapke aas paas Balwant saab humesha rahe hai toh mujhe khud aapko chitti dene ki himmat nahi hoti thi." Veer opened his hand for the letter. He looked through the letters and gave the one to Veer.

Veere,

Well, I should should perhaps start with sorry. Mujhe pata hai tumhe Sam se kitna pyaar tha phir bhi use apne saath le gayi thi. Shayad isiliye bhagwaan ne bhi mujhse mera Sam le liya aur tumhe de diya. 16. Sounds already so fast so soon. Mera 7 saal ka hero aaj 16 saal ka ho gaya hai. 9 saal ka time nikal gaya hai. I wish ki tumhari jo bhi wish hai woh puri ho jaaye. Well, I was wondering what I should write phir socha ki thoda sa senti hona banta hai.

You're 16 now. I guess kaafi waqt ho gaya na? Abh toh thode se bade ho gaye ho. As you start growing, logo ki expectations ho jaati hai humse. Tum toh humesha se hi hero the. Bachpan se hi. Ironman dekh ke khud bhi udte rehte har jagah. I wish I'd tell you ki even if we have wings, to really fly is not that easy. Something weigh us down too much to let us fly. I remember how obsessed you were with Beyblades and Legos. I guess you've moved on from it now. Har jagah padi mil jaati thi. Happiness is also something like that. Yahan wahan rakhi padi hoti hai. Unhe khoj ke ikkahta karna padta hai.

9 saal beet gaye hai par ek din aisa nahi hua hai ki I haven't missed you, hero. Tumhari baaton se hi dil bhar jaata tha. Abh toh din kaatne mein mushkil hoti hai. I wish I could tell you ki tum mere liye kya the, hero. Love you, baby. I wish you all the happiness in the world. I wish I could say sorry for everything that had made you sad because of me. Samjha sakti toh samjhati par abh toh na woh mauka hai aur waqt bhi guzar chuka hai for explanation. So, if you still have anger for me, I'll understand. I perhaps deserve some of it.

Love you, hero.
Ahana.

Veer looked at the letter. She wrote to him this letter on his 16th Birthday. Almost 6 years after Sam's custody was given back to Pawan. Balwant never allowed any sort of contact with her after Sam came back to them. Veer only knew his chachi who called him Veere. He used to love it when she called him that. It was the way she called him Veere. After she left, Veer made it clear that he never wanted anyone to call him that.

Veer was really happy to have Sam back but never once the thought came to his mind on what she would have felt. But while reading the letter, he felt that she was in pain.

"Ramesh kaka, abhi kahan rehti hai?" Ponky asked.

"Mumbai mein hi." Ramesh kaka answered.

An hour after reading all the letters, Ponky and Veer stood at the apartment building. Ponky checked the address.

"Yahi address diya tha Ramesh kaka ne." Ponky pointed out. Veer felt odd. It wasn't like one of the lavish places he imagined. Veer had a whole different lifestyle.

"Kisse milna hai?" The security asked.

"Ahana Dewan." Veer told the name hoping she used her maiden name.

"Acha, ruko, main call karta hun. Aapka naam kya hai?"

"Veer Singhania."

The security made a call. "Haan, sir, aapke ghar koi Veer Singhania aaya hai. "

Veer whistled a tune. Everytime he was tensed, he had a habit of whistling the tune.

"Acha.. okay. Theek hai sir." The security nodded and signalled them to go ahead. Veer had never felt nervous before but for the first time he felt nervous.

Veer looked at Ponky. Ponky was tapping his feet. To think of a moment that this was the first time he was meeting his mother. He didn't remember how she looked. Never even saw her photograph. Only Sam had a photograph of her that too he kept it hidden. Cheel families were harsh with those who broke away from the family. Ever last memory of her was removed from the Cheel Mansion. Ponky wrestled with the edge of his shirt.

They saw the board of people having a flat there with their names. He saw Ahana Dewan. Veer was meeting her after 20 years. He still remembered her. Ahana Dewan was a force not to reckon with. He remembered her so well. She was quite the spitfire. Veer loved her. The way she's throw back at his father when he annoyed her too much.

The lift tinged and opened up. Veer didn't know why he felt so nervous turning up at her door so unannounced. 20 years after she left. He told no one but just went over to her in a whim.

He was about to ring the doorbell when the door opened. They saw a boy. Around 15 years of age.

"Aap kon?" The boy asked.

"Vishal, kon hai?"

Veer's heart stopped when he saw her. She looked quite a little older than how he remembered. She looked around in her late-thirties. The supernatural side of her making her look younger than she was. Fading yellow full sleeved cotton shirt, grey trackpants. Her hair up, tied in a bun. Her eyes looked tired as if she hadn't slept for a long time. A few grey strands.

Ponky looked at the woman. She didn't resemble someone he'd associate with Singhanias. She gave a warm feeling rather than that sharp aura that all the Singhanias had.

She didn't resemble the woman he knew. She seemed so lively then. So filled with brightness and a different fire. She was still pretty but the years showed on her. She didn't look old or anything but Veer could see the change 20 years did on her. He could see how she had changed. The drastic change in her. It felt like a pang in his heart. Not the woman he remembered. Now, she looked a bit tired.

"Veer?!!" She instantly recognized him. Her eyes almost lighting up in shock. "Oh God!!" She looked at Ponky. Noting the age, she guessed that it had to be one of her twin. Veer noted the slight shake in her fingers as she held the door. The woman had seen her baby after 20 years. It made him wonder for a moment. Did she hold resentment towards his father and uncle for taking away her year old babies from her.

"Pankaj." He introduced himself awkwardly. He didn't know how to act in that situation. In that moment, she almost teared and hugged Ponky. Ponky hugged her back. At first it was lose but then as he felt her motherly affection, he couldn't stop himself.

Finally pulling away, she looked at the two.

"Mom, who Veer?" Vishal asked.

"Intercom pe naam nahi suna kya tumne?"

"I didn't pay attention, maa. Security ne kaha koi milne aaya tha so I said bhej do."

"Ajeeb ho tum. Abh hato." She told him and let them come in. "Aao. Come in."

Veer walked into the place and the vibe to it was different. She had changed a lot since he remembered her. The fire seemed to have lessened. There were a few paintings here and there. Some decorations. Cricket bat lying on one corner with footballs.

"Excuse the mess. Inko apni cheezein ek jagah rakhne mein pata nahi kya problem hai." Ahana said. "Sit. Kuch khaoge?"

Another boy showed up.

"Who are they?" He asked his brother.

"Veer Singhania. Mom's nephew. Aur yeh Pankaj Singhania. Pawan Singhania's son."

"Oh... toh yahan achanak se?"

She placed pastries before them. One for Ponky and one for Veer. Chocolate pastry. Veer smiled. She remembered that he liked chocolate pastry. Veer took it.

"Maa, hum dono neeche jaa rahe hai." Vishal said.

"Vishal, Jeet, mil toh lo." Ahana told them.

"They came here to see you, maa. You can't break off from your own son but there is no reason for us to associate ourself with Singhanias. Any of them for that matter." Jeet answered.

"Inka aaj they're not the royal cheel family toh chale aaye milne. Kal they'll be back toh being the strongest ones and get back to not giving a damn. Why waste our breath on something like that? Kuch productive hi kar lenge hum." Vishal added.

They both seemed to have gotten Ahana's bluntness. The same trait that Daksh shared. They didn't try and sugar coat stuff.

"Vishal, Jeet, that's way out of line. You can't say stuff like that." Ahana told them. "I'm so sorry. They're a bit rude like that. Please unhe mind mat karna."

"Rude is a funny word, maa. Insaan ko puri tarah tod do aur phir koi unhe yeh yaad dilaye ki unhone kisi ko tod diya hai then it becomes rude. Sure. Rude hi sahi. At least we don't outright throw people out of our lives who had once lived with us."

"Guys, please. Some manners. Kya kaha hai maine. We're not dwelling onto that. Just relax."

"Whatever. Hum neeche jaa rahe hai. Kuch chahiye ho toh call kar dena. We'll get it. Phone le jaa rahe hai. Football ground ke paas hai." The boys left.

"Sorry. Woh..." Ahana didn't know how to make it right.

"Its okay. It does seem the way they say it looks like."

"Though, seriously, kya ho raha hai? Markaat seems to be back. Nikhil Parikshit becoming Cheel Rajkumar. Kuch samajh hi nahi aa raha." Ahana asked them.

"Markaat happened." Veer answered.

"Mujhe vagely bhi nahi laga ki yeh ho sakta hai."

"Well, result yeh hai ki I'm no longer a cheel. Yeh sabh chodo. Aap batao. I mean... damn... you feel way too different than I remember."

"20 years can change a person, Veere. Log badal jaate hai. Cheezein hoti hai."

"You almost don't seem like yourself."

She chuckled.

"Kuch cheezein dil mein nishaan chod jaati hai, hero. Wounds heal but kabhi kabhi it leaves behind scars that you can only hide but not make them disappear."

"Don't you miss yourself? Your old self? Like some day hope that you'll miraculously be back to how you were?"

She looked at Veer. It takes someone who has been in pain and lost themselves to see the same in someone else. She realized that Veer felt lost without his cheel powers.

She pulled up her sleeve and there were scars over wrist. Veer couldn't ever think that she'd do something like that. He always remembered her as the strong woman.

"I already had lost my husband long ago. Then I lost my best friend. Divorced. Mere ek saal ke bacche mujhse cheen liye. My own parents left me behind. You know how Cheels are with those breaking away from their family. The one child I had with me jo almost meri lifeline tha, usse bhi cheen liya mujhse. Had no one to go to. I wasn't allowed to see my own children that I gave birth to. Seeing is a far part, I wasn't even allowed to speak to them. Ek saath everything crashed down. Koi wajah hi nahi mil rahi thi to live for. Andhere ki aadat thi par that darkness was something else. No hope. Nothing."

She held Veer's hands.

"But we all heal. It would leave scars but does that mean we don't heal? No. Maine almost keh diya tha doctor se ki I wanted to go through an abortion. I couldn't remember how to be a mother. Bacche the isse pehle mere but 3 years of having no contact from them at all. The phase I was in, I was convinced I didn't know how to be a mother. Nahi hoga mujhse. I'd go to her clinic to tell her I wanted to get an abortion. She'd convince me to keep the baby. Convince hoti thi. Then two days later having the same setback that I didn't want to have a baby. Pure pregnancy mein kitni baar hi maine doctor ko kaha ki woh mera abortion kara de. God! I can't thank her enough for handling my bullshit that she didn't have to care for. Then when I held them, it was something I knew I had to heal for. A few years after that was extremely difficult. Mujhe honestly samajh nahi aata tha ki kaise handle karun. To manage through that was difficult but abhi theek lagta hai. Dheere dheere, you learn to manage."

"Sorry." Ponky said. He didn't know why he said. He hadn't done anything to her but he felt like he should apologize.

"Tum kyu sorry bol rahe ho? Aisa kuch hua hi nahi ki you have to say sorry to me." Ahana chuckled.

"Is it karma? Matlab aapko itna hurt kiya hai dad aur bade papa ne isiliye humare saath aisa ho raha hai?" Ponky asked. Her expression changed.

"Maa apne baccho par naraz hoti hai jab woh galti karte hai par yeh nahi chahti ki unke saath kuch bura ho. If anything, I'd wish for you to have everything in this world. Mere hisse ki khushiyan bhi mil jaaye toh koi gham nahi." She told them.

Veer just hugged her. Ahana wrapped her arms around him. For a while, Veer felt like a little boy. She rubbed his back. He'd snuggle closer to Ahana when they watched Harry Potter and the basilisk would come up. Ahana would hold him and he would feel safe.
