Chapter 41
Bela took Bela into the room so they could have some privacy to talk.
“Haan. Kya baat hai?” Bela asked Bani.
“Bela, see abh main tumhe kuch baat batane wali hun. Its going to be a bit of a mess but we have to get the whole thing under control quickly.” Bani started. She explained to Bela about Chandrakala and Markaat. Bela was surprised.
“Markaat ke baare mein main bas suna tha. I hadn’t imagined ki hume uske saath actually mein deal karna padega. Aur baat toh bilkul sahi hai ki Chandrakala agar Naaglok aa gayi toh mushkil hoga uske saath deal karna.”
Bani then showed Bela the translated scroll that Daksh had finally translated with perfect grammar and stuff.
Chandrakala
Sarp, Pakshi aur Manushya teeno ka roop le sakne wali ek takatwar jeev hai.
Kaliyug mein uski takat kayi adhik ho jaayegi. Kaliyug mein jabh uski kundali mein chandrayog aayega tabh uski takat kayi zyaada ho jaayegi. Aur use koi bhi nahi hara paayega. Usmein cheel aur naagin ki shaktiyan ek barabar ho jaayegi. Jiske baad woh pure cheel aur pure naagin ki shaktiyan istemaal kar sakegi. Cheel ki kamzor hai jo naagin ki shakti ban jaayegi. Naagin ki kamzor cheel ki shakti ban jaayegi.
Use harana tabh tak sambhav nahi hoga jab tak dono cheel aur naagin shaktiyon ko kamzor karne ka koi rasta nahi mil jaata.
Bela looked and it and was surprised.
"Bani, iska toh koi tod hi nahi lag raha hai. Aisa kya ho sakta hai jo naag aur cheel dono ko ek hi baar mein kamzor kar sakta hai? Maine toh aaj tak nahi suna hai." Bela commented. "Aur Adi-Naag ne ek baar iska saath diya tha? Iska jo naagvansh ki bhi dushman ban sakti hai?"
“Jay uska beta hai. Sabka kehna hai ki Jay pe bharosa nahi karna chahiye but I can’t even go outright and say ki hum Jay ko iss sabse bahar rakhe. Mujhe aisa lagta hai ki Jay koshish kar raha hai khud ko sahi karne ki. I want to give him a chance but kya hume itna bada trust uspe karna chahiye? In the end woh Adi-Naag hai.” Bani thought out loud.
Bela sighed.
“I’m not a hundred percent sure, Bani. Aapko maarne ki koshish karna is a huge thing. Shaktiyon ke lalch mein aapko maarne ki koshish ki hai. Agar woh itna dur jaa sakta hai toh I’m not sure hume itna bada risk lena chahiye uss par. Kya pata shaktiyon ki lalch mein aake ek baar phir dhoka de de?”
“In the end, Bela, Jay humare naagvansh ka hai. We can’t completely cut him out because of one mistake. I agree that we have to be cautious about Jay but I’ll give him the benefit of doubt.”
“The problem with the situation is that all of naagvansh doesn’t ever come together.”
“I’m aware of that. Naagvansh is divided into 10 major clans. To bring all of them together is almost impossible but I’m willing to try.”
“You really think that Nidhog vansh will ever work together with Sheshnaag vansh? I don’t presume. I am sure that Vasukinaag vansh will side with us. Takshak naagvansh is doubtful. Karkotaknaag vansh doesn’t ever dwell among rest naagvansh. Kauravya vansh is doubtful. Drutarashtra naag vansh might possible agree with us.”
“Nandakanaag vansh will side with us. I previously once had met one of the naagraj. Vishyanaag vansh might at least give the benefit of doubt if we call them. The one left is Aryakanaag vansh. I’m willing to try.”
“Theek hai phir, Bani. Ek cheez phir bhi issue ban jaayegi. You’re married to a cheel. Do you think that will sit well with naagvansh?”
The impending question had finally come to her face. Would Naagvansh agree to their Adi-Naagin married to Cheel Rajkumar. Not just any cheel but Aakesh reborn. The terror that the name Aakesh could set among naagvansh would be enough to scare them away.
"Bela, kya tum ise accept kar paaogi?" Bani asked. Bela looked thoughtful. "Matlab Veeranshu Aakesh hai."
"Ek baat batau, Bani?" Bela asked.
"Haan."
Bela had a faint smile on her face.
"Tumhare liye yeh tumhara pichle janam ki kahani hai. Its your history. Yahan naaglok mein, its a story. Jo bohot zyaada popular hai. Aakesh Nageshwari Hriday. Shayad naaglok ke log bhi yeh sochte hai ki Aakesh ki pyaar ki koi seema nahi hai. Aakesh naam jaise ek terror hai. Like the name itself had some kind of power. Nahi hai but woh superstition pata hai na? Aisa hi kuch hai. Isiliye naagvansh jabhi Aakesh ka naam leta hai, uske peeche humesha Nageshwari ka naam aata. As if agar Aakesh ke naam ke baad Nageshwari ka naam lenge toh woh naam ka effect itna nahi hoga." Bela told her chuckling. Bani looked surprised.
"Seriously?"
"Haan. Tumhe silly sound karega but naagvansh ko bhi yahi lagta hai ki Aakesh se zyaada kisi ne Nageshwari se pyaar nahi kiya hoga. Hriday kabhi Nageshwari se us level ka pyaar kar hi nahi paaya jitna Aakesh ne kiya hai. Like koi comparison hi nahi hai. Tumhe yeh bohot odd lag sakta hai aur bohot ajeeb lagega but its a legendary story for rest of naagvansh. Ek cheel jisne apne pyaar mein apne pyaar se maut bhi accept kar li. Star crossed love stories. Jahan pyaar milta nahi hai dushmano ke beech. But the story becomes immortal. Kehte hai ki Aakesh tabh tak saans le raha tha jab tak Nageshwari ne saans li thi. Maine aisa suna tha ki Aakesh trishul par gira tha aur kaafi waqt tak trishul par latka hua tha. Giddh uski body ko khane lage the while he was alive kyuki woh hil hi nahi paa raha tha. Nageshwari ke zeher ne use immobilize kar diya tha. Aisa kehte hai ki bas Aakesh ne itni request ki thi ki giddh chahe toh puri tarah use kha le par uski aankhen na khaaye kyuki aakhri saans tak uske dil mein Nageshwari ko dekhne ki iccha tha."
Bani never knew what went on in Naaglok after her death as Nageshwari. She never came to Naaglok for 10,000 years she was cursed. Only freed several years later when Bela, Shesha and Brinda did tandav together to free Nageshwari from the curse.
It only made her think more about Aakesh.
"Cheelon mein bhi yahi kehte hai ki Aakesh 30 minute tak zinda tha trishul par mere use maarne ke baad. Giddhon ne uski body ko kha li thi. Kahin hogi kuch sacchai ismein kyuki Veeranshu ki aankhon mein jabhi dekhti hun, uska pyaar hi itna dikhta hai jaise woh aakhri saans tak bas mujhe dekhte rehna chahta hai."
"Jab saccha pyaar hota hai, Bani, toh use koi nahi rok sakta. Aur agar Veeranshu sach mein tumse pyaar karta hai, toh uss pyaar par sawaal uthane wali main koi bhi nahi hun. Mujhe khud ek insaan se pyaar hua jo ki naagvansh mein itna acceptable nahi hai."
“Main soch rahi hun ki abhi ke liye Veeranshu aur mere baare mein naaglok mein kuch bhi na bataye. I’ll send them all an invite to show up at the Nageshwar Shiv mandir. Let’s see what comes from that.”
Bela hoped that it would end well. Bani knew her agendas. She had to convince all the naagvansh not to provide help to Chandrakala from their end. To convince them all of a possible defence against Markaat. By now, Bani knew one thing. If they had to defeat Markaat, even the whole naagvansh together wouldn’t be able to do that. It would result in a slaughter.
Bani sent them all an invite. As it went to them, Bani towards the famous temple in the valley of Sheshnaag vansh. Each valley was inhabited by a naagvansh. The valley of Sheshnaag vansh was beautiful. Several of parijaat trees were found in the valley. She went to the famous temple in the valley. There were beautiful carvings at the boundary wall of the temple. Matsya. Kurma. Varaha. Narasimha. Vamana. Parshurama. Sri Ram. Krishna. Buddha and Kalki. All of his avatars carved on them. The temple was beautiful. Statues of Sheshnaag with Lakshman and Balaram. The bushes oftulsi plants planted in a planned way. Parijaat trees planted. The smell of sandalwood, tulsi and parijaat filled the air around the temple.
The beautiful statue of a new born Krishna being carried in a basket by his father Vasudeva as Sheshnaag acted as the umbrella. Bani touched the statue. Down to every detail, it was carved perfectly. The baby Krishna so adorable that Bani could almost imagine the human baby form of the Lord must look exactly the same.
Bani entered the main temple and saw the idol of Narayan. He was resting on the coils of Sheshnaag. He seemed awake but resting. A soft smile on his lips. One hand holding the chakra. The other resting on his knee. Third arm supporting his head as he rested. Fourth arm touching the Shivling. The idol was beautiful. He was decorated with flower garlands. The temple lit with lamps. The temple courtyard had several statues. Sri Ram sitting with Sita near a hut as they were just resting while Lakshman just a little away. Krishna playing his flute as the cows, peacocks and birds gathered around him. A beautiful woman, with a mischievous smile, holding a pot. Parshuram with his axe. The boar holding up the earth on its tusks.
It was as if someone had carved every single statue with so much love and affection that you can see God inside each of the idols.
Bani bowed down before the large idol. While Shiva was the lord of all serpents, Sheshnaag vansh also had their connection to Narayan. They all once in a while visited the temple. It was like a pilgrimage visit. Sheshnaag vansh are the one who are vegetarians. Their vansh strictly doesn’t eat meat. Other vansh would once in awhile indulge in animal habits. Only Vanshika was the one would eat meat due to her Takshak vansh half.
“Meri madad karna, Narayan. Aapko toh sabh pata hai. Adi-Naagin toh main banna chahti hun par yeh bhi ek mushkil hai ki meri shaadi Veeranshu se hui hai. Sach hai ki shayad mujhe Veeranshu se woh sab mila hai jo main Jay mein chahti thi. Aisa saathi jo meri izzat kare, meri dhal banke khada rahe, hamesha mera saath de aur mujhe pyaar bhi kare. Yeh sabh Veeranshu ne humesha kiya hai. Tabhi jab maine uski kadar nahi ki. Shayad maine use bohot hurt bhi kiya hai apni baton se. Marte hue bhi Aakesh ko itni dard bhari maut mili thi. Phir bhi woh mujhse aaj bhi pyaar karta hai. Yeh galat kaise ho sakta hai.” Bani stopped to think of every time Veer stood by her. Bani sighed.
“Bas ek hi baat hai. Maine Veeranshu ko apna saathi maan liya hai. Phir chahe sabh yahi kyu na kahe ki Jay mera joda hai par maine Veeranshu ko apna saathi maana hai. Aapko toh pata hai. Par darr bhi lagta hai ki kahin main apne vansh ki maryaada bhul jaaun. Samajh hi nahi paati ki kya Sheshnaag isse aacept karenge? Unse khud kehne ki himmat nahi hogi mujhse par aap toh Bhagwaan hai. Narayan hai. Aapke saamne kya hi chupa lun? Sar jhuka ke jo bhi pyaar se maang lun, aapne humesha diya hai. Bas aaj bhi itni hi iccha hai aap meri madad kare ki main humesha sahi raste par rahu. Agar mera Veeranshu se pyaar karna galat hai toh mujhe bataiye ki kyu ise sabh galat samajhte hai?”
After awhile, Jay showed up at the temple. Bani had called him there.
“Bani, tumne mujhe yaha kyu bulaya hai?” Jay asked her. Bani was looking at the idol of Narayan.
“Jay, don’t get me wrong par mujhe tumse assurance chahiye. Isiliye yahan bulaya hai.”
“Toh tumhare cheel pati ne bhar hi diya tumhe mere khilaaf…” Jay muttered irritatedly.
“Jay, yahan baat Veeranshu ki nahi ho rahi. Main yahan Adi-Naagin banke Adi-Naag se baat kar rahi hun. Aur baat hum dono ki hai.”
“Bolo.”
“Jay, tum aur main dono Sheshnaag ke vansh se hai. Aur Sheshnaag vansh ke liye yeh mandir bohot hi important raha hai. Satyug se yeh mandir hai yahan jahan har Sheshnaag vansh ke naag naagin aate hai. Bas, isi mandir mein tum mujhe vaada do ki kisi bhi haal mein naaglok se gaddar nahi karoge.”
“Bani, tum mujh par doubt kar rahi ho?”
“Jay, tum apni takat ko pane ki lalch mein mujhe marne ki koshish kar chuke ho, maine woh bhula diya. But yeh kaise maan lu ki abhi uss takat ke liye naagvansh ko dhoka nahi doge? Takat cheez hi aisi hai. Main tumse sirf yeh vadaa karne ko keh rahi hun ki tum naagvansh ko apni takat ke lalch mein sacrifice nahi karoge. Pure naagvansh ke icchadhari naag naagin ko bachane ki responsibility humari hai. Main iss responsibility ko bohot seriously leti hun. Ek baar uss baarudi surang mein saanpo ko bacha nahi paayi aur uska afsoos mujhe aaj bhi hai par main yeh phir se nahi hone dungi. Tum mujhe yahan Sheshnaag aur Narayan ki kasam khake kaho ki Naagvansh se gaddar nahi karoge.”
“Main naagvansh ke saath hi rahunga humesha.”
Jay promised her.
“Ek vaada main bhi tumse karti hun, Jay. Jis din tum mujhse kiya hua yeh vaada bhul gaye, uss din main bhi bhul jaaungi ki tum Adi-Naag ho. Uss din tum Adi-Naagin se miloge jo apne naagvansh ki Raksha karne ke liye sabh kuch kar sakti hai.”
“Main naagvansh se dhoka kabhi nahi karunga, Bani.”
“Bas.”
“Toh yeh toh clear ho gaya ki uss cheel ne kaafi bakwaas bhari hai tumhare dimaag mein ki main naagvansh se gaddari karunga.”
“Jay, jo bhi hai. Mujhe tumse Veeranshu ke baare kuch nahi baat karni. Whatever is between him and me is between him and me. Please usmein mat pado.”
“Hmhh…” He scoffed.
“Abhi second important baat pe aate hai. Mujhe pata hai ki Chandrakala tumhari maa hai aur tumhare liye uske khilaf hona mushkil hai toh main tumse yeh expect nahi karungi but bas itna chahti hun ki jab main Naagvansh ke saare naagrani aur naagraj se milu toh tum Adi-Naag banke mere support mein raho. Tum Chandrakala se lado na lado is completely your choice but when I ask all of naagvansh not to support her in her work, tum mujhe back kar sakte ho?”
“Bani, main Adi-Naag hun. Jo sahi lagega naagvansh ke liye woh hi karunga.”
“Jay, aakhri baat. I don’t know ki tum kitna jaante ho Markaat ke baare mein but agar woh apni puri takat lagake naaglok par hamla karega toh hume sabhko ek saath aake usse ladna hoga.”
“Done.”
Bani turned to the idol. The beautiful smile carved made Bani feel a new assurance. Let whatever come, Bani was going to stand strong. Her lord would always standby her as long as she was doing the right thing. The thing about faith was how it made her assured that she would get through it. Faith was in leaving it to him to show her the correct path. She would ask the Gods to help her stay on the right path.
Jay walked towards the head of the idol. Bani stood by the feet. She touched the feet of the idol while Jay was putting a peacock feather on the lord’s crown. Bani just looked at the idol. The wind flew inside the temple and made the feather come out of the crown. It flew right up to Bani. Bani was confused what was with peacock feathers these days? A while ago she had randomly found herself with a feather during the trap fiasco. Now, the feather Jay tried to put on the crown kept flying away. Bani gave him back the feather so he could put it back. Jay tried to put it again but the same thing happened.
“Shayad nahi chahiye unhe.” Jay answered with a laugh and threw it away.
“Kahin Mayuri ke pankh toh nahi laga rahe?” Bani commented with a chuckle.
“Nahi.”
Jay walked out, waiting for her outside. Bani didn’t know why but it felt as if something was asking her to wait for a few more moments. Bani circled the idol. As she reached the back of the idol, she saw a painting. She took it up and cleaned the dust off it. It was ripped into half. This was only one half of the painting.
Uncountable snakes surrounding the whole battlefield. Sri Rama, Lakshman and the entire vanar sena was caught in traps with snakes coiling them and leaving them all unable to fight at all. They all tried to fight the snakes but was a futile effort. They couldn’t get the snakes off them.
Bani knew what it was. Naagpash. It was the infamous story from Ramayan. Indrajit had used naagpash to render all the vanar sena useless. Even Lakshman who was the avatar of Sheshnaag couldn’t free himself from the effect naagpash. Sri Ram himself was helpless against the effect of naagpash.
“Naagpash…” Bani looked at the idol. She felt as if he was giving her some kind of hint. Naagpash was a rare weapon. A biological weapon of sorts. It was the speciality of naags. “Agar naagpash Lakshman ko bhi bandh sakta hai toh Chandrakala isse nahi bach sakegi. But is it even possible to find naagpash? Kahan mil sakta hai?”
She knew the person who she could ask about naagpash. Bani went back to the Kashyap Manor.
“Dadi…”Bani called out, running up ahead. She was in her office reading some paper.
“Kya baat hai?” Dadi asked her.
“Dadi, aap Naagrani thi na? Mujhe aapse kuch puchna hai.”
“Pucho…”
Bani showed her the half painting.
“Dadi, naagpash ke baare mein aapko kya pata hai?”
Dadi took out a scroll and showed her.
“Naagpash ek biological weapon jaisa hai. The snakes that come out of naagpash only listen to the one who owns the naagpash. Even if it is used against a Naagraj or Naagrani, woh saanp unki baat nahi sunege. Sirf uski sunte hai jisne woh naagpash choda ho. Jaise been control kar sakti hai icchadhari naag-naagino ko, waise hi, naagpash saare naagon ko control kar sakta hai.”
“Par har naag aur saanp yeh recognize kar sakte hai na Sheshnaag ko. Toh aisa kyu hai ki unhone Lakshman par bhi hamla kar diya? They should’ve recognized him as Sheshnaag.”
“They should have but naagpash controls the snakes in a way even the been can’t control them. Isiliye naagpash itna khatarnaak hai.”
“But agar dushman cheel ho toh?”
“Bani, imagine karo ki ek saath millions of saanpo ne attack kar diya hai tum par. It is like dropping an entire liar of aggressive snakes who will definitely bite the enemy. Unless they can counter it in time, they’re as good as dead. Chahe woh cheel hi kyu na ho. Ek cheel ek saath agar 16 saanpo ko ek saath maar sakta hai toh yes, maybe he can survive it. You’ll need a million birds at your call to clear off that many snakes. No cheel is capable of that unless they have the control on all the birds. Koi aise chote chote panchi naagon ka saamna nahi kar sakte. Those snakes are around 10 times more aggressive than a regular snake that is threatened. Sirf Garud hi hai jo itne saare birds, which are natural enemies to snake, ko bula sakte hai at that spot when needed at his single call. Pichli baar jab naagpash ka istemaal hua tha tabh Garud khud gaye the un naagon se bachane.”
“So, the only known counter to naagpash is garudastra.”
“Haan. Par achanak se kyu puch rahi ho?”
“Considering it is the biological weapon of snakes, it can be found in naaglok right?”
“Naagpash kayi varsho ki tapasya ke baad milti hai. Yeh naagpash kisi ko sirf do hi de sakte hai. Ek khud Sheshnaag aur dusre Bholenath. Uske liye bohot saalon ki tapasya karni padti hai.”
“Matlab abhi koi naagpash nahi hai?”
“Dekho, mujhe 100% nahi pata iss baare mein par aisa maine apne dada se suna tha ki shayad kahin naaglok mein ek naagpash hai. The first naagpash ever created. Sheshnaag ne naagpash invent kiya tha. Sheshnaag ne bhi Bholenath ki madad se naagpash banaya tha. Naagpash mein Shiv ki rudra shakti hai isiliye woh saanp itne shaktishaali aur aggressive hote hai. Woh pehla naagpash is said to be still be here in naaglok. Aaj tak kisi ne dekha nahi but kehte hai ki abhi yahan hai. Use Sheshnaag ne kisi naagraj ko diya tha unse khush hoke. But very soon after he got it, the naagraj died during Markaat’s attack.”
Bani noted that. Naagmani could be the only other cure. Because naagmani can revive the ones who are dead. It gives the one who has it a kind of invulnerability. It can heal any wound or any disease. Naagmani can bring all naag naagin in control. Generally, it isn’t easy to hypnotize anyone from naagvansh because naag naagins themselves had a bit of ability to hypnotize. How proficient they are at the hypnotism depends on the individual naag-naagin but only been can make the naag-naagin be brought in control. But Naagmani is way more powerful than the been at controlling the naag-naagin. Yet, the way on how to use naagmani in control all naag-naagin is only known to Adi-Naagin.
“Toh matlab 2% chances hai ki naagpash aaj bhi naaglok mein hai.”
“Haan. I mean aisa ho sakta hai par maine aaj tak iska koi proof nahi dekha hai.”
Bani had a doubt that Markaat was after naagpash. Is it just a coincidence that Markaat had the naagraj killed when the naagraj had just got naagpash? He definitely couldn’t have gotten it from Sheshnaag. There’s no question of Bholenath giving him Naagpash without years of penance. The only other way was to steal it. Naagpash ko naagmani possibly kaat sakti hai if they know how to control naags using naagmani. Bani knew the potency of naagmani’s control. Garudastra mil sakta hai ya nahi, Bani didn't know but she can use naagmani to counter the effect of naagpash if she managed to find it.
If Naagpash could defeat the large vanar sena that was under Sri Ram's command then what were some cheel and naagins supporting Chandrakala before the valiant vanar sena?
Chapter 42
Bani and Vanshika returned from Naaglok. It was evening by then. They had gone around 7 in the morning and now it was 5:30 in the evening. When Bani had entered the mansion, she heard songs being played. They were decorating the place. Bani looked around when Veer came out of nowhere and took her hand. The music played and he finished his drink.
Tumse mile do din huye
Phir kyun lage na dil
Ab se mere bas mein nahi
Teri sune yeh dil
Tumse mile do din huye
Phir kyun lage na dil
Ab se mere bas mein nahi
Teri sune yeh dil
Veer started dancing with her. Twirling her around. Lip syncing to the song. Pulling her against his chest and moving to the song.
Main jitni baar milun
Mujhe kam hi lagta hai
Dil seedha saadha tha
Ab sanki lagta hai
He picked her up and twirled her around. Then doing the sip. He danced with her.
Ke tumse pyar main karta hoon
Ke tumpe main yoon marta hoon
Ke tumse pyar main karta hoon
Ke tumpe main yoon marta hoon
He traced her arms and twirled her. Touching her shoulder and circling around her.
Tera pata poocha kare
Khud lapata hai dil
Tu kam se kam yeh to bata
Kya chaahe tera dil
Tera pata poocha kare
Khud lapata hai dil
Tu kam se kam yeh to bata
Kya chahe tera dil
Bani just smiled at he danced with her. He gave her a glass of juice and took a drink himself. The two did a cheers and drank it. He continued dancing with her. A smile on his face as he sang the song along with the music played.
Main jitni baar milun
Mujhe kam hi lagta hai
Dil seedha saadha tha
Ab sanki lagta hai
"Tum kabse seedhe saadhe the?" Bani teased him as she danced with him.
Ke tumse pyar main karta hoon
Ke tumpe main yoon marta hoon
Ke tumse pyar main karta hoon
Ke tumpe main yoon marta hoon
Holding her against him and he did a lift. Bani laughed at that.
“Veeranshu…”
Hum baithe yunhi rahe
Woh aake chale gaye
Hum baithe yunhi rahe
Woh aake chale gaye
Ke tumse pyar main karta hoon
Ke tumpe main yoon marta hoon
Ke tumse pyar main karta hoon
Ke tumpe main yoon marta hoon
“Ke tumse pyar main karta hoon, ke tumpe main yoon marta hun…” Veer sang as he twirled her around. Moving with her.
“Veeranshu…” She chuckledas he continued to make her dance. “Gana khatam ho gaya.”
“Haan par mera pyaar toh khatam nahi hua na, sweetheart.” He answered.
“Bhabhi, kahan chale gaye the aap? Humne kitne maze kiya. Sabh milke kitna masti kare the. Aapne miss kar diya.” Ponky commented.
“Thoda sa kaam tha.” Bani answered.
“So… kaisa tha?” Veerasked her.
“I need to talk to you.”
She started pulling him with her and the boys hooted teasingly at them.
“Aate hi, Bhabhi?” Sam teased her. "Bhai ko itna bhi mat thaka dena ki shaam ko party karne ke liye takat hi na bache." The boy laughed at the teasing. Ponky made a kissing face.
“Shut up.” She told them. The boys laughed. She took Veer up to her room and closer the door. Veer was ina playful mood and he pinned her to the closed door. “Oh, hello… main tumse kuch baat karne aayi thi.”
“Haan toh karo na…” He winked at her. He leaned towards her as he kissed her neck.
“Veeranshu…” She pushed him to an arm’s distance. Although she was asking him to stop, there was a silly smile on her face. “Mujhe important baat karni hai aur tum distract ho rahe ho.”
“I missed you na, sweetheart. Toh bas isiliye socha thoda sa tumhe feel karlun. Uske baad I'll see if I want to focus.”
Bani pushed him towards the sofa and made him sit. She sat on the new coffee table. Veer grabbed herhand and pulled him over her, making her sit on his lap.
“Focus…” She answered chuckled.
“Tum inti khoobsurat dikh rahi ho ki bas distract ho raha hoon.”
Bani held his head and made him look at her.
“Focus…”
Veer sighed loudly in a dramatic fashion.
“Acha okay, batao.”
Bani showed him the painting. He looked confused.
“I think iska other half uss island pe hai. Near that statue of Garud.” Veer commented. “But what’s with the painting? Yeh dikhane ke liye itna excite ho gayi thi?”
“So, you know how Chandraka has a lot of naags following her command right?”
“Must be. Uske saath kuch cheel bhi hai.”
“Chandrakala kuch hi waqt mein apne sabse takatwar form mein aa jaayegi. Jo scroll Daksh ne translate ki hai, usmein yeh likha hai. Aane wali full moon night ke baad she’s grow even more powerful. Uski shaktiyan badh jaayengi. Tabh shayad meri bhi shaktiyan thodi kamzor ho jaayengi toh the way I am being able to fight her now, I might not kyuki during that time. Meri kechuli badalegi and it’s a vulnerable period. Shaktiyan thodi kamzor hogi and since we’re on opposing ways. Jahan she’s powerful, there I’ll be weak. Abhi use naag lok se rok liya hai maine. Naaglok ke saare entrance aur exit par maine traps laga diye hai so if she goes in or out, I’ll know. As such mujhe nahi lagta abhi she’s in naaglok kyuki main jab gayi thi tabh aisa laga nahi.”
“Did you find her?”
“Maine kuch naagon ko laga diya hai use dhundhne mein. Par jab woh bohot shaktishaali ho jaayegi tabh mushkil hogi and its almost difficult to stop her. Toh uska ek solution toh maine dhundh liya hai.” She showed him the painting.
“This painting? Painting use kaise rokegi? Kuch special jaadu hai kya is painting mein?”
“Nahi… Naagpash.”
Veer looked at her like she had gone crazy.
“As in that mythica lweapon jisse bohot saare saanp aa jaate hai?”
Bani rolled her eyes at his description. He mimicked a cobra with his hands. She slapped his hand away.
“It isn’t mythical. Sach mein hai.”
“Bani, you do realize ki use bohot saare saalon ke sanyas ke baad milti hai, right? Jab tak tum apna yeh sanyaas pura karogi, Chandrakala ne pura naaglok safachat kar diya hoga apne cheel roop mein. If as you say ki uski dono side ki shaktiyan badh jaayengi then isn’t a few years a long time? Aur tabh tak main kya karun? I am not going to let you take sanyas. Mera bhai pahadon mein chala gaya aur 6 saal baad lauta. Tum aise plans mat banao. Baither baithe main devdas ban gaya toh” Veer shuddered at that thought.
“Waah bhaisaab. Matlab hadd karte ho, Veeranshu. Tumhe mazak soojh raha hai. Yahan main itni serious baat kar rahi hun.”
“Bhaisaab?” Veer pushed her off him and she landed on her butt on the floor.
“Oww… Badtameez.” Bani attacked him with pillows.
“Kya? Tumne mujhe bhai bola. Yeh badtameezi nahi hai? Koi pati ko bhaiya bolta hai kya?” Veer retaliated with another pillow. She started laughing as their pillow fight continued. All the tension that she was feeling earlier was now gone. The two continued fighting with pillow, breaking into laughter.
Bani's pillow hit his wings and a pain surged through them. Bani dropped the pillow and walked to him.
“Sorry. I shouldn’t have done that.” She apologised. Veer chuckled.
“Kuch nahi sweetheart. Bas, I think I wouldn’t be able to the new party with my wings sticking out like that.” He told her sighing.
“Who said that?”
“Bani, koi bhi shirt ise cover nahi kar paayegi. Even if I try to stuff them in, it still hurts.” He explained.
“Toh? You’ll just avoid going out? It is New Year. You have made so many preparations.”
“Bani, main bas chahta thaki tum enjoy karo.”
“Woh toh adhoora reh jaayega agar tum nahi aaye toh. You know I’m not much of a party person. Main jaati hun kyuki tum party karte ho.”
“Acha? Toh dow you suggest I hide these?”
“Agar costume theme hua then you don’t have to. Bas angel wali costume pehen lena, Veer bhai.” Sam suggested.
“Tum socho usse pehle tumhare bhai solution dhundh lete hai.” Bani commeted.
“Bhai bhai hota hai, in the end.”
Sam and Veer did a fist bump. “Waise, aap dono jaldi ready ready ho jaao kyuki aapki dono ‘OMG’ behene aa gayi hai and before they gather you…”
“Woh meri behene hai.” Bani shoved him.
“Doesn’t make them less irritating. Yeh her sentence mein omg bolne waali aadat kaafi irritating hai.”
“Bani…” Sam quickly ducked and ran away that the sound of their voice. Bani wrapped bedsheets on Veer to hide his wings.
“OMG, tum abhi tak ready nahi hui?” They exclaimed. They saw Veer. “OMG, yeh kya ho raha hai?” They teased Bani.
“Kuch nahi. Hum bas ready hone jaa rahe hai.” Bani told them.
“Ready ho jana warna pata chala tum dono neeche hi nahi aaye aur bas yeh bedsheet mein hi mile.” Mehek teased. Bani gave an awkward laughter.
“Haan. Tayar ho jaayege.”
“Waise hum yahan isiliye aaye the kyuki hume help chahiye thi makeup karne mein.”
“Tum dono jaao neeche. Main aati hun.”
They left and Bani closed the door. Veer took away the bedsheets.
“I’m going to look super odd.” Veer complained.
“Abh thoda toh compromise karna padega.” Bani answered putting her arms on his shoulder with a teasing smile. “Waise accha jitna tum mujhe kam distract karoge utna accha hai.”
Veer laughed.
“Aisa nahi ho sakta sweetheart, apni gharwali ko main distract nahi karunga toh kon karega?”
After a while, Bani and Veer got ready for the party. Bani attached fake feathers in place of the feathers he had lost.
“It is a bit awkward. Aisa lag raha hai kisi ne puri body pe tape laga diya hai.” Veer pointed out. She was dressed in a black dress. He was wearing his cheel boots with his black jeans and a red satin shirt. His same gothic accessories. Devil horns. He moved his wings and the fake feathers got a bit loose.
“Veeranshu, kya kar rahe ho?” Bani stopped him.
“Ajeeb sa lag raha hai, sweetheart.” He complained.
She put them back when suddenly, Mehek Dehek came in.
“OMG… Bani, jeeju, kitne sahi lag rahe ho.”
Mehek was a little too excited seeing the wings and instantly touched it.
“Uff… kitne real lag rahe hai.” Meher touched the real feathers. “Aur kitne soft hai.” She tried to wrap them around her. Dehek started to feel the wings.
Bani felt a wave of jealousy.
“Haan, dekho kharab hojaayenge.” Bani unwrapped the wings from Mehek.
“Kya, Bani. Itne acche hai. Kahan se liya?” Dehek asked refusing to let them go. Bani felt jealous. Only she was allowed to touch his wings and wrap them around her. It reminded her of the way he wrapped his wings around during the Christmas night. The way she felt so happy tucked in his wings.
“Bas… bas…” Veer moved away before he flapped his wings and they’d realize that he really has wings. One of the fake feathers fell down.
“Dekho, isiliye bol rahi thi. They’re a bit delicate.”
“Kya fark padta hai, Bani. Mujhe toh bohot acche lage.” Mehek touched the inner feather at the edge where the wing is attached to the shoulder. Veer moved away with a chuckle.
“Kya hua?” Dehek asked.
“Woh… kuch nahi…” Veer answered.
“Acha okay… aap dono neeche aa jaao. Bani, humara makeup bacha hai.” The twins left. Bani laughed.
“Tumhe gudgudi hoti hai?” She asked tickling him. He jumped away laughing.
“Ba..Bani… mat karo…” He tried to stop her but she continued tickling him, he broke into fits of laughter at the ticklish feeling. Bani laughed and stopped.
“Normally toh tumhe nahi hoti..”
“Haan but they’re the base of the wing na. It doesn’t show up until I open my wings.”
“Acha abhi neeche chalte hai isse pehle ki koi aur aa jaaye.”
Bani and Veer walked down. The Singhania brothers were all ready. The theme was set perfectly well as myths and legends. Meera and Tapish were talking away. Everyone was in a costume. Veer felt odd considering he was the only one with wings but he spotted Sam. He himself had opened his wings. Painted them white. He looked like the cupid. The Greek shawl pinned on his shoulder. He wore the white skirt with gladiator shoes. He managed to look really handsome. Veer smiled at that. Veer realized that only reason his brother would go that fancy was to give him company for putting on wings. Daksh and Ponky had dressed as vampires. Tapish was dressed as Mr Addams. Mehek Dehek both wore dresses but one can’t guess who they were.
Veer walked to him.
“Hello, Cupid.” Veer grinned at his brother. Sam gave him a fist bump. The two had always been ableto know each other’s pain. Didn’t have to express in words. Although Sam was two years younger than him, Veer was very close to him. More than he was with Daksh and Ponky. Sam was closer to Tapish and Veer than he was with his own brothers. There was a different way of expressing closeness between the brothers. Veer never had to ask Tapish and Sam to back him, they’ll without even asking back him up. Even as children, Veer and Sam would fight with eachother a lot but Veer would only sit next to Sam every time. It was an unsaid thing. Only Sam was allowed to borrow his favourite bike. Only Veer was allowed to borrow Sam’s shoes. Sometimes, Sam and Veer would even attend the same class and the teacher wouldn’t notice that either of them didn’t belong to the class. Veer treated Sam the way he’d treat Teer. As if Sam was Veer’s twin brother. Balwant locking up Teer had never allowed Teer and Veer to have that kind of twin bonding hence he developed that bond with Sam. Only Veer and Tapish would understand his own feelings for his mother. Daksh didn’t talk about their mother and didn’t even bother much about her and Ponky didn’t remember her much to miss her. Only Veer and Tapish would understand that side of Sam.
Bani smiled as she saw Sam and Veer drink together. Veer seemed a bit happier. She walked to Tapish and Meera. The two were looking at the brothers as well.
“Tapish bhai, kabhi kabhi mujhe aisa lagta hai although these guys had a difficult childhood, they got on with it. Main bohot roti thi ki mujhe apni family ke baare mein jaanna hai. Jabhi chachi mujhe daanti thi, main bohot roti thi.”
“Haan maybe because you didn’t have that much support as much as we had from each other.”
“Yeh buri baat hai. Mera pyaar kuch nahi?” Meera asked.
“Meera di, aap toh meri jaan hai.” Bani hugged her sister. Meera smiled and hugged her back. Tapish smiled.
“Meera di, please. Aap na Tapish bhai se shaadi kar lo.” Bani commented. Tapish almost choked on hisdrink and coughed. Bani laughed. “Woh kya hai na ki main Meera di ko bohot miss karti hun jab woh yahan nahi rehti. Aur ek ki rasta hai jisse Meera di humesha ke liye mere saath reh sakti hai ki Meera di bhi iss ghar ki bahu ban jaaye. Main Sam ko suggest karti par uska dil toh Vanshika par hi laga hua hai. Daksh aur Ponky bekaar hai. Bache aap. Aap waise bhi bohot sweet hain.” Bani said while hugging Meera. She put her head on Meera’s shoulder.
“Kuch bhi bolti hai, Bani.” Meera laughed and blushed slightly.
“Bas yeh baat mere bhaiyo ke saamne mat bolna. Peeche hi padh jaayenge mere.” Tapish requested. Meera and Bani both laughed at his expression.
“Waise main third wheel nahi ban rahi na?” Bani teased them.
“Nahi… nahi…” The two said together in the same tone. Bani grinned at the defensive no.

Chapter 43
“Mr. Cupid…” Bani called Sam. Sam and Veer turned around. “Yahan aao toh zara…”
Sam grinned and walked towards them with Veer behind him.
“Does someone need love potion?” Sam asked offering the drink. Tapish pointed to his glass and Sam poured the drink.
“Mujhe bhi… mujhe bhi…” Vanshika gave her glass. She was dressed as Cleopatra.
“Bas. Yahi toh main chahtatha ki tum mere haath se yeh love potion piyo aur tumhe suddenly mujhse pyaar ho jaaye…” Sam flirted with her.
“Haaye…. If only the love potion wasn’t alcohol. Kyuki mujhe jaldi nahi chadti.” Vanshika answered.
“This is called progession. Iss baar mere flirt ka jawab koi taana nahi tha. Thank you. I will take this.” He replied. “By the way, Meera di, aapki beheno ko shayad actually mein yeh lagta hai ki Daksh aur Ponky un dono ke saath serious ho sakte hai.”
“Yeh samjhana mere bas ka kaam nahi hai.” Meera replied. They all chuckled.
“Tumhe try karna hai?” Vanshika offered her to taste the gin.
“Mujhe ek hi peg mein chad jaayegi.” Bani nodded her head in a no.
“Theek hai, Bhabhi. Pura peg mat piyo. Bas taste karo.” Sam suggested. Bani took Veer’s glass and just took one sip for taste. They all looked at Bani to see her reaction. She squinched her eyes expecting the taste to be bad but to her surprise it didn’t taste bad. It was actually good. One by one the flavour bursting on her tongue.
Veer raised his eyebrows asking her.
“Not bad.” Bani commented.
“Ohooo…” Sam and Veer gave each other hi-fives.
“That is saying something since Bani doesn’t like alcohol. Sam, congratulations.” Veer told Sam.
“Kyu?” Bani asked. Samshowed her the bottle of gin. Flames. “Haan, toh?”
“You’ll not find any other gin with the same taste in a bottle. And courtesy of Singhania Family’s relation with alcohol, this is my own personal gin. I own the company making this gin. Its patented.” Sam explained.
“Matlab you guys actually spend time making alcohol and cocktails?” Bani asked.
“Bani, we run clubs and pubs, what are you expecting?” Tapish questioned and everyone laughed.
“Isi baat pe cheers. Pehli baar Bhabhi has tried alcohol and liked it.” Sam pointed out.
Tapish, Veer, Sam and Vanshika did cheers and chugged their drink. Daksh and Ponky showed up.
“Hume bhi cheers karna hai.” The two said.
“Kis baat pe cheer ho rahi hai waise?” Ponky asked.
“Well, mera magic chal gaya. Bhabhi actually likes my gin.” Sam praised himself.
“The first people to ever taste it were Tapish bhai and Veer bhai. They ended up drinking the whole stuff.” Daksh remembered. “Itni pi li thi ki unhe bhi chad gayi thi. I don’t know they drank something like 6 or seven bottles. Bade papa handle karte karte thak gaye the. Ek toh Veer bhai waise bhi pagal hai. Upar se Tapish bhai, the one only who would get Veer bhai in control, was also drunk.”
The boys laughed at that. They went on telling drunk stories. Meera laughed. Veer started talking with someone else and Daksh and Ponky took the chance to play their game.
“Bhabhi, lo. Aaj ek peg toh pi hi lo humare saath.” Ponky insisted. Bani’s outfit as Lilith was white. Gothic rings that she had borrowed from Veer and some other accessories that Vanshika made her wear.
“Arrey nahi…” Bani tried to say no.
“Bhabhi, par ek sip mein kya taste pata chalega. Try toh karo. Its New Year. No one cares if you get drunk.” Daksh insisted.
“Okay…” Daksh poured the gin in a glass. She drank it.
“Bhabhi, let us teach you how to drink it.” The boys said. They poured in each of their glasses.
“Cheers” They clinked and drank it all at once. Bani coughed up a bit. It tasted good for some reason.
“The second way.” The boys made Bani drink four drinks together one by one. Bani had already begun to stagger by then.
“You know what? For some reason it tastes really nice. Like I didn’t know it could be good at all…” Bani said giggling. Daksh and Ponky grinned. They poured her the drink. Four drink, the boys pushed her to drink and next four, Bani drank on her own accord while already being crazy drunk.
After the eighth drink, Sam noticed Daksh and Ponky near Bani and Bani was already giggling. He realized they got her drunk.
“Saalon, kitni pilayi hai?” Sam asked taking the bottle away from them. Bani took the bottle and drank from the bottle.
“It is actually good.” She said. Sam realized that his brothers had planned it when the music played. It possibly couldn’t be coincidence. He looked at them. They were laughed. Bani walked up to thedance floor and started moving.
“Bhabhi… Bhabhi… its already a lot. Aapne pehle hi bohot pi li hai” Sam took away the bottle from her. Bani slowly moved to the groovy music. Sam almost gulped. If Veer was going to see this, he was going to kill the boys. The slow moving that Bani had started with turned to dancing. In a moment, the people on the dance floor, looked at her.
Naagin’s moves were no jokes. Her balance in her dance, even with her drunken stupor was amazing. She couldn’t walk right but damn, she could dance. Bani knew how to dance. Daksh and Ponky had no idea how she could manage a kind of grace even with being mad drunk. Her drunk dancing wasn’t how they expected. They all stopped dancing and watched Bani dance and were shocked. Some flexibility she had. She was moving around with the moves that could make anyone think she was professional dancer.
Sam put his hand on his mouth. When she was earlier dancing with him, she seemed to be a little restricted but not the alcohol got into her and she let go off everything holding. Her long hair swayed perfectly to her hips. Daksh and Ponky just stared at her moved.
“Damn it. Yaar, Mayuri bhi aise dance nahi kar sakti thi.” Ponky commented.
“Pankaj Singhania, yeh humari Bhabhi hai. Helloo… Veer bhai jaan se maar denge.” Sam commented. Her hips moved in the perfect sync to the music. It was a perfect mix of sexy and graceful. Only someone of her nature could manage something like that.
Daksh and Ponky soon joined their Bhabhi with dancing. The could still couldn’t match the grace that she had. She danced with them but it wasn't couple dance. Both Ponky and Daksh were brilliant dancers but Bani took all the attention. Only Bani could make drunken dancing graceful. Perhaps, it was the side of her inner serpent. For ages, serpents have been equated to regeneration, sexuality, grace, poison and healing. Bani too imbibed the same parts. Bani’s sexy side never came out generally with how uptight she is while she’s sober. Now, that the alcohol sang of unsaid confidence in her body, she wasn’t shy of showing the side of her that could stop everyone in their tracks. It wasn’t her clothing. No, the black dress was strategically worn to let Bani be comfortable but it was about she moved while dancing.
Sam decided to go find Veer before everyone got all crazy over Bani and that would flip Veer.
“Veer bhai…” Sam found Meera, Tapish, Vanshika and Veer. They were talking to Bani’s chachi and the twin sisters.
“By the way, kon hai dance floor pe? Aisa lag raha wahan aag lagi hai but V toh yahi hai.” Veer asked. Vanshika was known for her moves. You could ask any club and they'll remember Vanshika and her dance moves. Veer knew it. He had just seen her a few times dancing in club as she partied with her collegues.
“Aapki gharwali.” Veer almost choked on the gin.
“Bani?” Meera asked.
“Daksh aur Ponky ne almost puri bottle pila di hai Bhabhi.”
The five quickly made way to the dance floor. Veer’s eyes simply froze at Bani. At a point Bani took off her heels and let her feet be free. Her hair flowed in her movements making her look like the most beautiful woman in the world. He just couldn’t stop looking at her.
“Haaye… yeh Bani hai?” Chachi asked shocked at her dancing.
“OMG… Bani kitna accha dance kar rahi hai!!” The twins exclaimed. Daksh and Ponky tried to match her moves but couldn’t.
Veer’s heartbeat stopped. He breathed heavy. Veer had always found Bani attractive and hot but this was something else. Watching Bani dance like that, he almost had to shake the thoughts forming in his mind. The way she moved her hips, Veer could only stare at it. As she stood on the floor with her back facing him, she turned her head, she looked at him. A grin graced her lips. She winked at him. Veer could swear he forgot how to breathe normally. This side of her was almost seductive to his eyes. Almost as if she was hypnotizing him to just look at her. It was a trap that he didn’t want to free himself from. She was excruciatingly sexy at this point. He didn't have the words to describe how she looked.
It was a mix of feelings. One side of him found it extremely sexy and other side was jealous that everyone was looking at her. Veer walked up the stage.
“Saalon, tum dono ko toh main dekh lunga.” He threatened his brothers.
“Bechare baccho ke peeche padh gaye ho, Veer.” Veer lost it in the way she called him Veer. Bani continued to dance around him. Veer had never felt like a prey ever before. Yet, this time, he felt like one. He had always felt like the predator never the prey. She continued to dance and Veer felt like he was digging his own grave. She was drunk, there’s no chance of anything happening but still she made him think of everything he wanted to do. All the desires that had been inside him for so damn long. Since the first moment he had set his eyes on her as Aakesh, he wanted her in every way. Aakesh wasn't generally someone to drag a woman without her will like that. He generally maintained his distance with women. The respectful distance that was supposed to be maintained but Nageshwari had made him so obsessive and possessive in just one look that he was willing to just grab her and fly away. Veer grabbed her by her waist and she used it as a support to orchestrate her next move. Every time Veer tried hold her and take her off the stage, she would just manage to make it seem like she was dancing. Was it Bani’s hotness or their chemistry which made everyone stare at them, he didn’t know. Perhaps it was both.
“Bacche nahi hai woh. Kameene hai.” Veer commented. He grabbed his brothers and glared at them. There was this slight bubble of jealousy that everyone was finding Bani hot. He generally always felt good when someone found his girlfriend and feel jealous of him but with Bani, his sense of possessiveness was so strong that he could bear anyone else eyeing her with the thought that only he was allowed to have. Veer would have actually shown Daksh and Ponky what the two were playing with when Bani made him face her.
“How about you pick on someone of your own size, Veer?” She challenged. This was a Bani he had been madly attracted to. The way she had stellar confidence while facing him and was all firecracker against him. They could just burn the whole place down with their intensity.
The eye lock was so familiar. A fire he knew well. The fierce Naagin. It reminded him that they were predators too. If he had keen eye-sight and talons, she had the venom and aggression. She seemed to have toned down her fierceness towards him when she changed her mind about him but there she was. Her grin, her challenging stance. He could note that she loved him but she was also challenging him, picking on that side of him that didn't ever lose.
He raised an eyebrow with a grin. Bani grinned.
“You can’t take on me, sweetheart. Main kabhi nahi haarta.” He challenged her. He was assuming, she was going to challenge him to dance with her but the next thing Bani did shocked all of them.
She grabbed his collar and kissed him. Veer hadn’t expected it. She pulled away after a moment and winked at him. It took him a moment to get back to his senses. Veer picked her up in his arms and took her off the stage. Daksh and Ponky continued to dance.
“Kya kar rahe ho??” She asked, almost complaining. He made her sit on the stairs, signalling a waiter to get some food. While Veer was talking to him, another waiter passed from Bani’s side with wine trays. Bani stopped him and took a glass of red wine. Veer’s attention went to her when he saw her drinking wine. She leaned back. Her elbow supporting her upper body as leaned over the staircase. The scene was just too hot to handle. Bani’s suddenly surge of over-confidence, her black dress, the way she leaned back, the glass of wine in her hands and the way she stared at him. Veer took a deepbreath. He had no idea how he was going to sleep. Veer would laude himself with an award if he managed to control himself at the way his wife had begun to toy with him. Her knee was put up. The slit in Bani’s dress exposed her leg from her mid thighs to him. No woman had made Veer feel so hot before. She looked like Venus in that moment. The Goddess of Love, beauty, attraction, sex and fertility. He felt like Adonis. How was the mortal supposed to save himself from the trap of the beauty that the goddess was?
“Bani Sharma, bas.” He took the glass from her and put it in the waiter’s tray. He tried to keep breathing to control himself of
“Hain?” She questioned. “Bani Sharma?”
“Bani Sharma. That’s your name, sweetheart. Bohot zyaada chad gayi hai tumhe.” Veer chuckled.
Bani grabbed him by his collar and pulled him over her. The only thing that held him from falling ontop of her was his both arms on the side of her holding him above her. She wasn’t bothered by the distance. She stared into his eyes with a fierceness and possessiveness that Veer could swear wouldn't let him sleep at night. He'd normally get a little vain with the way Bani had pulled him over herself and tease her but he had no words coming out of his mouth in that moment. He was speechless against the woman who he could worship as a goddess.
“Bani Veeranshu Singhania.” She corrected him. Was Veer even breathing anymore? There was a possessive tone in her voice when she said that. “Aur main iss baare mein bol rahi thi ki tum humesha mujhe sweetheart yaa gharwali bulate ho.”
Veer remembered the last time they were in a similar position. He fell down while carrying her up the stairs and she was on top of him. This time, Bani pulled him over her. Her eyes stared at him. His heart was beating fast. It was a reaction that was constant when she came that close to him and he felt the lust pouring between them.
Bani chuckled.
“Do you know that I can feel your heartbeat?” She asked him. He was confused. Her hand wasn’t over his chest. “You know how snakes can sense vibrations na? The same thing. I can sense your heartbeat’s vibration from the air. Like if someone is close enough, I can feel their heartbeat vibration through the air. Tumhara dil jaise zor zor se dhadak raha hai, yeh mujhe pata chal raha hai.”
Veer smiled and gave a shy look. He got up and picked her up in his arms. The two went up to their room. Ramesh kaka brought them some food, placed it on the table. He knew not to put questions or stay for long when it considered Veer Singhania. He could still ask Bani some question but when there were other members of the family, he didn’t dare ask any questions.
“Ramesh kaka, aapne khaana kha liya?” Bani asked with a sweet smile. “Aur thoda sa cake Tarun ke liye bhile jaana. Kuch din pehle bol raha tha that he wanted to eat cake.”
“J..ji Bani bitiya.” He said.
“Who the hell is Tarun?”
“Tumhe nahi pata Tarun kon hai? Haww…” Bani looked shocked.
“Bani bitiya, woh main use bol ke rakhta hun ki ghar mein zyaada na ghuma kare aur ghar ke logo se zyaada na baat kare.” Ramesh kaka explained.
“Tarun inka pota hai. Chotu sa bacha hai. Bohot cute hai. Uske itne cute se gaal hai…” Bani almost meltedin her expression while speaking about the toddler.
“Veer…” She caught his sleeve.
“Haan, sweetheart?”
“I want a baby.” The sudden request made Veer almost stumble. He turned around and looked at her. Ramesh kaka decided to make his exit.
“Baby? Sweetheart, abhi baby kahan se laau? Not to mention right now ghar mein kahin bhi baby nahi hai.”
“Nahiiii…. Mujhe tumhare jaisa ek cute sa baby chahiye.” She put her arms around his neck. She was lying on the bed and had pulled him over her. His hands supported his weight above her. “Tumhari jaise aankhen. Tum bachpan mein kitne cute the. Bilkul waise hi. Jaise tum mujhe bohot pareshaan karte ho, waise hi who chota sa baby bhi thoda sa masti kare. Tumhare jaise cute ho. Tumhari tarah smart ho.”
Her request shocked him. Where was this coming from? Why did she suddenly want a baby?
“Bani, sweetheart, abhi kahan se baby aayega?”
“Mujhe toh abhi chahiye.”
Veer was trying his level best to control himself but her scent was picking on the side of him that was screaming him to let go and indulge himself with her. The fake feathers attached to his wings were now gone. They almost seemed like a blanket over Bani.
Bani pulled him closer and kissed him. His hands grabbed the bedsheet. Bani pulled away and looked at him. He knew that look all too well. Her eyes travelled down to his chest. It was already unbuttoned to the middle of his chest and now Bani started to unbutton them further. Veer closed his eyes, breathing heavy as her fingers brushed against his chest while he unbuttoned his shirt. It was begging him to let go off and just let her do what she wanted to do.
He put his knee to help himself to be above her and not fall on top of her. He then stopped her hands.
“Bani, you’re drunk. Main Meera ko bula deta hun. She’ll change your clothes. You then eat something and go to sleep.”
Bani sighed. He had no idea how he had physically restrained himself from indulging into his desires as she seemed to want the same thing. He buttoned up and walked out to find Meera. The people were gone. Daksh and Ponky were on the sofa, drunk. Tapish was eating some food.
“Tapish bhai, Meera hai kya yaha?” Veer asked.
“Nahi toh. Vanshika, Meera and her family all left just a while ago. Kyu?”
“Arrey yaar. Woh Bani ne puri tarah chadha li hai. I thought ki Meera uske kapde change kar degi.”
“Abhi tak aapne stage cross nahi kiya kya?” Ponky laughed commented. Veer kicked him on the butt and Ponky fell off the sofa. “Aaahhh…”
Tapish laughed.
“Veer, abh toh apni gharwali ko tujhe hi sambhalna padega.” Tapish answered. “Baaki sabh jaa chuke hai.”
Veer sighed. What torture was this? Did he have to be the one to change her clothes? Not that his thoughts helped him. He went back to the bedroom and saw that she wasn’t there. He knocked in the bathroom.
“Sweetheart…”
“Aa jaao…”
Veer walked inside just in time before she would fall down and injure herself.
“Bani, kya kar rahi ho? You can’t even stand properly. Why are you near the shower?”
“I want to take bath. There is a lot of sweating.”
“Bani, tum subeh naha -” Veer didn’t get to finish because Bani turned open the knob of the shower and the water fell over both of them. The dress hugged to her as water completely drenched her. Did Veer really need to see this sight? Wasn’t her dancing and kissing enough to give him a sleepless night? The water fell over her, drenching her hair and clothes. It drenched him. His wings wet but his eyes chose to focus on the beauty that his wife was.
“You know, jab tum aise bina shirt ke ghum rahe the, I thought of that statue of devil that was made for church but they rejected it because it was little too sexy. Abhi toh tumban bhi gaye.” Bani giggled. “To think of it, you both share similarities. You both have wings, Lucifer being prince of darkness aur tum raat ka raja, both in-house bad boys, he’s the lord of hell and you’re like the prince of cheels, both of you are handsome and make people think about sin.”
Bani giggled.
“Haan, we’re both related to snakes and apples.”
Bani laughed at that.
“Abh sweetheart, please bahar chalo. Ek toh tumne apne kapde bhiga diye hai. Meera bhi chali gayi haiand I don’t know how to change your clothes without having dirty thoughts.”
Bani laughed. She pulled him close and kissed him again. The water kept pouring between them. The only light coming in the bathroom was from the room shining into the bathroom. Not too much but not too less either. He could feel the soft traces of her figure on him. For a moment, it threw him off guard and he pushed her against the wall of the shower. Bani didn't seem to mind. She simply put his arms around him properly to let him kiss her deeply. After a moment, he pulled away. It felt as if pulling away from her was physically painful. He closed his eyes to control himself. He had to control himself.
“I don’t know yeh kya hai, Veer, but I just don’t want to stop kissing you. Is it beacause of how your kisses are so amazing or me just being a little too in love with you?”
Veer’s heart skipped a beat. She actually said those three words he so badly wanted to hear from her. She pulled him into another kiss. If only she wasn’t drunk, Veer would have given everything in that one moment. He had been dying to hear her say that she loved him. He knew she did but she hadn't ever brought herself to actually voice it to him. She told him how important he was to her and what he meant to her but the whole thing with those three magic words hadn't come.
"Sweetheart, kabhi toh yeh baat hosh mein bhi keh do. Dil mera kitna betaab hai yahi baat tumse sunne ke liye, you don't know. Ek baar tum mujhse yeh keh do, iske liye main kuch bhi kar sakta hun. Abh tum yeh baat nashe mein kar rahe ho."
Bani rested her forehead against his.
"Pata nahi, Veer, bas kabhi kabhi darr lagta hai. Kisi ko yeh baat samjhane layak hi nahi rahungi ki kyu apni jaan bhi tumhare liye de dun. Woh har baat tumhari jo mujhe gussa dilati thi, abh us par hi pyaar aata hai. Tum, tumhari badtameezi, tumhara pyaar, tumhara pagalpan, woh danger waali feeling, tumhara khud se itna pyaar karna, tumhara khud par confidence, tumhari zidd, sabh. Aisa lagta hai ki dheere dheere itni tumhari ho rahi hun ki khud ki nahi reh paa rahi."
Chapter 43
Markaat punched Shakura hard.
“Na… kuch bhi nahi hai yeh. Zor se…” Shakura told Markaat as he pushed Markaat against the wall and kicked him on the gut. Markaat threw a punch with more force. Shakura staggered back but grin didn’t go away. “Kya? Bas itna hi dam hai?”
Shakura flew at Markaat with his talons. The tree had its bark marked with talons cutting through it. The tree’s sap leaked out. Shakura jumped up in the air and kicked Markaat in the chest.
“Aarghhh….” Markaat growled. He punched the ground in rage and got up. He dashed at Shakura and the two started fighting. He grabbed Shakura’s throat. Shakura tried to attack him with his talons forcing Markaat to release him. Markaat ducked the talons and kicked Shakura away. Shakura fell back crashing against a tree. The tree moved with force Shakura crashed against it. Markaat proceeded to punch Shakura but Shakura ducked and elbowed Markaat in the jaw. A crack was heard.
“Yeh hota hai punch. Zor laga…” Shakura told Markaat.
“Pura zor laga hi raha hun…” Markaat shouted back in anger.
“Aise ladoge Veer se? Paanch minute mein hara ke maar dega.”
Markaat grabbed Shakura’s throat angrily. Shakura kicked him away. Markaat growled in anger. The stopwatch beeped. Markaat and Shakura stopped fighting. “60 minutes aur tujhe 10 baar zameen par gira chuka hun.” Shakura told Markaat.
Markaat angrily punched the tree. The whole tree shook.
“Gussa kya kar raha hai? Yeh gussa kaafi nahi hai Veer se jeetne ke liye.” Shakura commented.
“Ek baar phir se meri baazi palat di Veeranshu ne.” Markaat growled. Markaat was seething in anger as one by one, everything he was throwing at Veer was being tackled by Veer. First Veer slipped though the cracks and Chandrakala’s trap ended with Veer managing to gain control. Just when Markaat was thinking that Veer was getting more and more tired, Veer turned the tables around. By now, he had understood one thing. Bani was Veer’s strongest ally and Bani’s strongest ally was Veer. The two matched each other’s strength and weakness, making them together a great team. Veer knew how to tackle situations. He had surrounded himself with everyone who come to his use.
“Markaat huzoor, Shukla ko unn Singhanias ne pakad ke rakha hai. Koi mansion ke aas paas bhi dikh raha hai toh who Singhanias unki halat buri karke dur chod aa rahe hai. Veer ke permission ke bina koi bhi cheel Singhania Mansion mein nahi dikhe aisa order jaari kar diya hai Veer ne. He’s returning to his title as Cheel Rajkumar.” One of the cheels reported to Markaat.
“Uss Adi-Naagin ne humare 14 cheelon ko maar diya hai.” Another cheel pointed out to Markaat. Shakura put bandages around Markaat. Markaat was still working towards increasing his strength, endurance and speed.
A suparn’s body is heavier than that of a cheel which makes it slower compared to a cheel. Not to mention, after the whole mess, Markaat was a little weaker. Almost all of his potential energy that he had accumulated during the 12,000 years of wait was diminishing. Nageshwari was cursed for 10,000 years. Aakesh chose not to take birth until he knew Nageshwari was freed from the cursed. Aakesh had himself poured himself with 10,000 years of energy. The only reason why he could even resist Markaat for that long. Veer was calculated. He knew how much he can endure and could make plans as he worked. That was his strength. He can make plans while working on them.
Markaat took a bath with all the sweating in the lake and cleaned himself. He sat down and meditated. Regardless of what he had become, his inner self still worked the old school. The way he was trained by Narayan. Meditate to control your mind, exercise to get stronger. Eat healthy to build fitness. 14 lapses around the island without a pause in the morning. In the afternoon, it was laps with weight. By the evening, he had to race with Shakura flying in his cheel form to build up speed. Morning, Evening and night with 2 hours of meditation to build his potential energy.
Markaat hadn’t been able to believe how easily Bani had fooled him into thinking it was Shukla. Markaat had severely underestimated Bani and her strength. Now, Markaat wasn’t going to do the same thing.
“Shakura, mujhe who Adi-Naag yahan chahiye.” Markaat ordered Shakura.
“Who saala loser? Kyu? Mujhse who bardaash nahi hota.” Shakura complained. Markaat turned his head and gave Shakura a look.
“Kisi bhi tarah se tujhe lag raha hai ki mujhe fark padta hai ki tujhse who bardaash hota hai ya nahi? Mujhe who Adi-naag yahan chahiye matlab chahiye.” Markaat made it clear.
“Abhi naaglok mein hai who loser. Chandrakala wahan andar nahi jaa sakti, meri rani Bani ne pehera laga diya hai apne jaadu ka.”
“Toh koi rasta nikal. Main jab tak apne dhyaan se uthu, mujhe who Adi-Naag yahan chahiye.”
Shakura sighed as Markaat closed his eyes in meditation. Now he had to figure out a way to find Jay and give him this message. Working with him once was a headache and now Markaat was making him do it again. At least this time Jay can’t boss around him.
Shakura thought for a moment. Bani’s magic was playing well. Anyone associated with Chandrakala would leave a trace on their aura. Chandrakala’s own tamsic energy would leave a trace on those associated with her. Any naag-naagin in her party crossing the barrier would raise an alarm to Bani. So, he couldn’t even use Chandrakala’s people.
“Chandrakala, apna jaadu istemaal karo aur apne loser bete se yahan aane ko kaho.” Shakura told Chandrakala.
After a while, Jay showed up at the place where he had first met Shakura.
“Kya hai? Abhi mujhse kya kaam hai? Mera kaam toh kar nahi paaye abh mujhse expect kar rahe ho ki main tumhara kaam karun?” Jay asked.
“Aee, Loser. Chup reh. Maine tujhe isiliye bulaya hai kyuki mujhe Suryash ne yeh karne ko kaha hai. Tujhe island pe le jaana hai. Suryash ko tumse kuch kaam hai.” Shakura answered. “Warna mujhe koi shauk nahi hai tere saath phir se deal karne ka.”
“Markaat? Matlab woh asli Markaat?”
“Haan. Markaat ek hi hai. Teri maa bas khud ko samajhti hai Markaat.”
Shakura caught Jay and flew into the island. They reached the lake side where Markaat was meditating under a tree. Jay looked confused.
“Mujhe laga yeh sanyasi wali harkatein Naag mandir ke pandit, panditayin aur sapera baba hi karte the. Yeh bhi un logo mein se hi hai kya?” Jay asked Shakura. Shakura just shrugged his shoulders.
After a while Markaat came out of his meditation and saw Jay before him. Shakura passed Markaat a towel and Markaat wiped away the sweat and put on his shirt.
“Mujhe kyu bulaya hai?” Jay asked.
“Ek baat main yaad dila dun, Hriday. Main koi aam chalta phirta cheel nahi hun jisse tum apni marzi se baat karo. Main Arun ka pota hun. Main Markaat hun. Toh jabhi apne muh mere saamne kholo, yeh yaad rakhna ki kabhi bhi tumhe maar sakta hun. Tum naagon ki tarah humare liya koi niyam nahi hai ki pehla waar hona zaroori hai.”
“Yaad rakhunga. Tum bhi yaad karlo ki main Jay hun. Hriday mat bulao.”
“Theek hai. Jay.”
Jay nodded.
“Abh zaroori baat par aate hai. Tum mere liye ek kaam karo aur main tumhe tumhari shaktiyon ki chahat ka sapna pura kar sakta hun.”
“Maine Narayan ke mandir mein Bani ko kasam di hai ki naagvansh se gaddari nahi kar sakta.”
Markaat laughed.
“Tum log Narayan ke mandir mein bhi jaate ho? Mujhe laga ki saare naag sirf Shiv ko hi poojte hai.”
“Sheshnaag vansh se hai. Sheshnaag Narayan ke bhakt hai.”
“Wahin mandir jo tumhare Sheshnaag ke ghati mein hai?”
“Tumhe kaise pata?”
“Main gaya tha wahan jab pichli baar Naaglok mein tha. Khaali sa lag raha tha. Koi itna shayad jaata hi nahi. Warna yaha toh Narayan ke mandir mein humesha bheed lagi hui hoti thi.” Markaat remembered the golden age.
“Tum main baat pe aaoge? Main naagvansh se gaddari wala koi kaam nahi kar sakta.”
“Samajh gaya, Jay. Pata hai tum naaglok ki koi cheez mere liye nahi laa sakte aur na hi mere liye wahan ke darwaaze khol sakte ho. Isiliye bas main jitna kahun, utna karo. Naaglok mein abhi kya ho raha hai?”
“Bani saare naagraj aur naagrani se baton mein lagi hai ki who Chandrakala ka saath na de. Aur phir tumhare baare mein warn kar rahi hai.”
Markaat thought for a while.
Usi ke baad kisi naag-naagin ke liye icchdhari hone ka vardaan milna possible hua hai. Bholenath par sawaal karna kisi ke bas ka kaam nahi hai.”
Markaat took a deep breath to control his temple.
“Mujhe pata hai, Jay. Icchadhari naag-naagin use naagvansh ne nahi nikal phenkenge. Par kya uspar koi sawaal nahi uthega? Usne ek cheel se shaadi accept kiya hai. Tum Adi-Naag ho. Tumhe chod kar kisi cheel ke saath dil laga rahi hai? Koi sawaal bhi nahi kiya jaayega kya? Kya Adi-Naagin par nahi aayenge ki abh usne ek cheel ko apna pati sweekar kiya hai? Cheel jo naagon ke dushman hai.”
“Agar yeh main karun toh bhi aisa nahi hoga ki who sabh use disown kar denge. Sawaal uthenge but agar Bani ne apne Adi-Naagin ke taaj ka istemaal kiya toh sabhko chup hona hi padega. Who Adi-Naagin hai. Aur who yeh baat kabhi bhi keh sakti hai ki Bholenath use saza de dete agar who galat hoti.”
“Jay, thoda sa akal aur lagao. Jahan vishwaas bohot atal hota hai wahan andhvishwas bhi hota hai. Naag apni maan maryada ke liye bohot kuch daav par laga dete hai. Shiv bholenath hai. Yeh jaante hue bhi ki asur vardaan paane ke baad tabahi hi machayenge, unke tapasya ke baad unhe vardaan de hi dete hai. Toh kya yeh tark sahi nahi hoga ki agar Bani dil se apne bholenath se kuch maangegi toh Bholenath use nahi denge? Socho, Jay, socho. Thoda sa akal lagaoge toh kayi saare aise sawaal khade kar sakte ho jisse aisa ho ki tum naagvansh ke saath bhi ho par tumhara kaam bhi ho jaaye.”
Jay looked at Markaat in surprise.
“Par use agar kuch bhi kiya toh Bholenath ka gussa sehna padega hum sabh ko.”
“Yahi samasya hai tum naagon ki. Sochte kam ho. Aise hi log saanp ko bohot chatur maante hai…” Markaat complained. “Jay, tumhe Nageshwari chahiye aur mujhe Veer se Nageshwari ko dur karna hai. Nageshwari Veer ki dhaal hai. Ek baar uss dhaal tod diya toh Veeranshu ko main sambhal lunga. Tum bas itna uksaao unhe ki tumhe kabhi kabhi aisa lagta hai Veeranshu ke saath rehke Nageshwari naaglok ko bhul gayi hai aur uski saathi ban rahi hai. Who Nageshwari se iss baat ka saboot mangenge ki who abhi naagvansh ke saath vafadaar hai. Naagon ki fitrat hai apni maryada ke liye sabh kuch kar dene ki. Naagraj Naagraniyo ke paas mat jaao. Unhe Nageshwari par zyaada vishwaas hoga kyu ki kuch naagrani naagraj khud hi ek insaan ke saath hai toh who Nageshwari ka saath denge. Tum unn naagon ke paas jaao jinki umra bohot ho. Unki soch wahi purani hoti hai. Nageshwari ki burai mat karo. Veeranshu ki karo. Unse aisa kaho ki tumhe lagta hai usne Nageshwari par kuch jaadu kiya hai aur pichli baar ki tarah who uske jhaase mein aa gayi hai. Who Nageshwari se kahenge ki tumse shaadi kar le iss baat ke saboot ke taur par ki who naaglok ke prati vafadaar hai.”
Jay had to admit, Markaat knew how to plan things well.
“Main yeh kar dunga par Veeranshu ko kaise sambhaloge? Who toh aise situation mein haath par haath dhare nahi baithega. Kuch toh karega. Aur who cheel koi chota dushman nahi hai.”
“Uska maine soch liya hai. Kisi panchi se uske par cheen lo toh who khud hi haath mein aa jaata hai.”
Shakura waited for them to leave.
“Ek baat batao, Suryash. Tumhe khud pata hai ki tumhari 12,000 divya varsh ki shakti khatam ho rahi hai. Jo bachi hai who tumhari khud ke atma ki shakti hai. Veeranshu se uski cheel shaktiyan cheen loge toh use kaise paaoge? Aur yeh kya hai ki tum Bani ko Jay se shaadi karne de rahe ho? Karna kya chahte ho?” Shakura asked Markaat.
“Shakura, ek baat batao main agar tumse puchu ki tumhe apne cheel ki shakti aur Bani mein se kuch ek chunna hai toh kya chunoge?”
“Cheel hona. Yeh koi sawaal hai? Par Veeranshu kyu chunega cheel banna? Who pagal hai Bani ke peeche. Bani ko hi chunega.”
“Shakura, kisi ko pata nahi par mere paas bachi hui sirf itni hi jutayi shakti hai ki apne vansh ke cheel ki shakti ek baar cheen lun aur kisi ko cheel ki shakti de sakun. Bas. Dono maine Veeranshu ke liye bacha ke rakha hai. Bina cheel shakti ke Veeranshu Jay ko nahi hara paayega. Jay Adi-Naag hai. Aur jab uski cheel shaktiyan chali jaayengi toh zaroori uske liye yeh hoga ki pata lagana ki kaise use wapas paaye use Nageshwari ke contact na karne par itni chinta nahi hogi. Jab tak Veer ko pata chalega, Jay ne shaadi kar liya hoga.”
“Karna kya chahte ho, Suryash? Isse fayda kaise hoga hume?”
“Yaad karo pichli baar kya hua tha, Shakura. Nageshwari Hriday se shaadi karne wali thi par usi din, Aakesh ne maar diya Hriday ko. Pagalpan hai toh uski lakeer bhi hogi. Chahe Veeranshu kitna hi behtar kyu na lage jab saari baat uske haath se nikalne lage, tabh uske andar ka pagalpan dikhne lagega. Usi pagalpan aur gusse mein use Jay ki jaane lene ka bhoot sawaar ho jaayega. Tabh use giddho se yaad dilaye ki use shaktiyan sirf main de sakta hun. Tabh Veeranshu se khud ko mere hawaale karne keh denge. Uss pal Veeranshu itna hadd se guzar chuka hoga ki sabh kuch use Manzoor hoga. Tabh hum jeetenge. Phir khatam kar denge Jay ko. Un naagon ko bhi bata denge ki jungle ke raja toh abhi hum hi hai.”
Shakura laughed.
“Aur Bani?”
“Naagon ko maar denge toh kya Nageshwari aise hi baithegi? Nahi. Bas. Maarna chali aayegi. Veeranshu toh hai hi uski kamzori. Tabh use pakad ke rakhenge. Veeranshu ka pagalpan ki bhi ek hadd. Uska gussa niklega ki Nageshwari ne Jay se shaadi kar ke use dhoka diya hai aur pura cheel vansh jaanta jab Aakesh apne par utar aaye toh saamne koi nahi tikta.”
“Ek baat toh maanni padegi. Yeh saara socha toh tumne sahi hai par Veeranshu bhi khilaadi shaatir hai. Itni asaani se jhaanse mein nahi aayega.”
"Main kuch bhi karne ke liye tayar hun, Shakura."
Markaat knew Veeranshu wasn't exactly Aakesh who could be tricked. He had controlled every aspect of Aakesh's life but Veeranshu wasn't the same. You couldn't see it but even Veer was a control freak and Markaat knew it. You pull on short thread out of it and he'd show his colours of craziness. People weren't scared of Aakesh for no reason. Aakesh had no care for human life. Just as he didn't care for human, Aakesh didn't care much for naags either. Yet, Aakesh cared for every single bird. He'd hear a injured bird's call and Aakesh would fly down caring for it back to health. He wouldn't disturb with nature's laws of predator and prey but if he could help it, he would. He was someone who hunted hares, rabbits, foxes and goats the most. He could understand all the birds. Everytime he came to the island, the birds would speak to him.
All of it seemed well under Markaat's control until Nageshwari. She was like a storm in their lives. Aakesh was the only one crazy enough to fly in the storm. He didn't stop to care. the way eagles open their wings and let the fast moving winds of the storm take them higher and higher, Aakesh just let Nageshwari drive him more and more in love with him. The storm of his love for Nageshwari broke away every barried Markaat placed on Aakesh to keep him for his use. The way Nageshwari killed Aakesh, he couldn't even use Aakesh's body after Aakesh's death. The vultures had eaten away half the body. He had fell on top of the Naag Mandir's trishul. No way that Markaat could use his body after that. The trishul's energy would burn Markaat into intense pain that it would simply kill him.
Markaat was determined to win this time. He wasn't going to let Bani defeat him again. Markaat's temper had gone off the rooms when he found out that a naagin, after all a naagin, had brought him to his knees. He had underestimated Bani and her strength. When he saw the massacare at the cave, Markaat regretted not gauging up Bani properly. Now, he had realized that Aakesh and Nageshwari were meant to be each other's halves because only they could protect each other so fiercely. Markaat had no doubt on how mad crazy Veer could go in anyone even hurt Bani a bit. He had seen a hint when Shakura tried to grab Bani earlier at the party. Veer would have actually killed him right there.
