@fibby: Clearly... All those hand movements, eye movements... clearly his doing, like you said there is a pattern... And actors are following it n probably improvising in sync with him... Recently, Mahir's " bada tha, it's huge" description of the bird... Sure, it's director's input😆

He plays to their strengths.
He has very early realised what attributes of an actor tics the audience and he sticks to it, enhances that particular side.
Infact there are/have been some shortcomings which he has used in a way that come off as a pro of an actor.
