Mahir was standing there...in front of his father, who is gonna kill him in notime.

Bela could hear everything. Because she was gifted with extraordinary vision and hearing capacity, she could witness everything so clearly. But no human had the ability to see or hear her from the distance of the cliff.

--It is only because you had blind faith on her, only because you had been rejecting the truth, that my family has been destroyed Mahir! How could you do that? How could you? Andy was certainly not in a sane state. Even Mahir could not think anything at this point of time. Even in this morning, when Maa and Bela were missing, he could not imagine that at the end of the day, he and his father were destined to stand up in front of each other like this. Mahir could not think. Is it all just a part of a long nightmare? Or his entire life has suddenly turned into one. Just a few hours ago, he and Andy rushed to the haveli, following a phone call from a stranger who said that who was on Bela's phone and informed Mahir thar he had found the phone on the road. Knowing the location, Mahir got that it was the route to the old haveli. So he and andy rushed to the spot. The moment they entered the big room of the haveli, they witnessed something that they wished had never happened. Sumitra was covered with blood, as if she was snabbed to death. And the knife, all red with blood, was in Bela's hand. Andy could only take Sumitra's name...and ran to her. But Mahir could not move a bit. He was there... looking at Bela's tearful eyes. Does he know her? Andy soon found out that Sumitra is no more. Bela understood the gravity of the situation. She could read Mahir's eyes. She could talk to him, but not at this moment. She can't stand here...she can't. The voice of a large crowd marching towards haveli was coming. No, she has to flee.. she did flee. Mahir saw Bela leaving. But srill could not move a bit. He was listening Andy shouting at Mahir to go after her. But how could he? He can't help. A large crowd came into the haveli. They were the villagers who were also looking for Bela and Sumitra. They also met the stranger who told them that he got a phone on the path leading towards the haveli. And one of them got to know that its Bela's phone seeing the photographs in the phone. But reaching the haveli, they have to witness something terrible like this, this is what they had never imagined. But they did what at that moment was needed. They called the police, and covered Sumitra's dead body. Andy by that time has lost every bit of clue of anything. Mahir was still out of his mind. Furious Andy, almost dragged Mahir out of the mansion and drived back to house.

--You stay in the car..

He said to Mahir and ran towards his room. He opened the closet and took his revolver. For one moment his hands trembled. But a glance at Sumitra's photograph hanging on the wall re-asuured him. He came back to the car and started driving towards the jungle. Mahir did not think of anything. He could only see some selection of scenes. Sumitra covered with blood, Bela standing with the knife, Andy shouting at him to catch her, and Bela running away...

Bela cried and cried thinking of everything that happened today. Then she collected herself and ran towards haveli. But soon saw the police vans. She can't go inside. It was at that moment that she saw a car at its full speed going towards the jungle. She was about to follow, but just then Vish arrived. It took Bela a hell out of time to convince vish and others to let her go. She will come back very soon. They agreed but Vish said she will go with her. Bela had no option but to go along with Vish. But on the path, Vish could never match the speed with Bela.

--Shut up you *******. Don't you have any shame left!! Your wife is the killer of my beloved wife. You are at fault for this. You have no right to live Mahir. If I do not kill you now, then my Sumitra will never gain peace. I will punish you Mahir!!!

-- Just make sure that the trembling hands do not miss its target dad!

Mahir said, in a cold voice. This calm voice of his son, even this could not take him back to his mind. Before even realizing, the gun shot...

Mahir was standing on the cliff. The bullet did not hit his forehead but his arm. But this was enough to loose the balance and falling of the cliff and in the deep river beneath. Andy frozen by his action, took the revolver, pointed towards his forehead and shot.

Bela's cry did not reach to Mahir. She saw Mahir falling off the cliff and then Andy shooting himself. She could not think of anything else. She ran to save Mahir. But Vish stopped her.

--Naagrani! Naagrani! What are you even trying to do?

--Leave me Vish! Let me go!

--No! Have you forgotten? At the end of the cliff its our enimys' territory. You can't go there.

-- I don't care. I have to save him.

-- You can't do anything Naagrani! The river is full of giant stones. And the cliff sides are sharp as bladder. No human can escape this. Mahir is dead!

As if time hasn't moved a bit in the past 6 months. Bela could still see everything happened that night, in front of her. She had only one vision in her eyes, Mahir falling off the cliff. Eyes flooded with tears, who will know about the storm raging on inside her, she looks so calm till now. And does she have any option? She is not allowed to tell her grief to everyone. No one should see her vulnerable, no one should know this.

-- No human can escape this. Mahir is dead!

before the sentence was even completed by Vish, the naagrani fell unconscious. Vish was terribly scared. She had never seen Bela this weak. When Bela got consciousness, she was devastated. But yet, no one could hear her crying. But then why is everything so sad about ? Why the sky doesn't get the sunshine? Why is everyone mourning in the nature? Do they feel the pain of naagrani, but Vish cannot? What a shame! She is supposed to be comforting Bela. But how could she? Bela has shut all the doors and Vish cannot reach to her heart. Yes she gets annoyed sometimes. Bela was never that much sad when she lost Vikrant. Then what is so special about that human? Maybe because he was a human. Vikrant knew Bela will be the naagrani, but Mahir loved an ordinary middle class girl, below his status. Loved her unconditionally, fought for her, even in the last moment of his life...Perhaps only human can do this way. But what has happened to Bela? She hardly loved Mahir while he was here. But now, when he is no more, what is the point of all this? Vish was thinking this, standing behind Bela on the cliff. She has warned Bela certain times, not to come this close to their enimies' territory. But at the end of every night, when no one can find naagrani in her haveli, Vish finds Bela on this cliff.

-- Naagrani

Bela collected herself and turned to see Vish.

-- Why do you always come here?

-- Tum se matlab? Why did you follow me?

Vish didn't feel anything, this is how Bela talks to everyone nowadays.

-- Guruji is searching for you in the ha...

Bela starts walking off. Vish sighed and followed Bela.

-- Guruji

-- Bela? Where were you? Do you know what has happened?

-- What Guruji?

-- Adi, remember him? He has been spreading this rumour to all across the city. That you are the killer of the entire Sehgal family.

The poliice was not fully convinced that Bela was responsible for the killing of Sehgal family. They didn't find the object that killed Sumitra, Andy had committed suicide, Yuvi' s reports were unnatural and both Mahir and Bela disappeared. Either they also died or as Adi claims, Bela was responsible behind all these.

Bela stood numb for a minute.

-- Is he wrong guruji??

Guruji didn't have anything to answer, certainly.

-- I don't know that naagrani. But the fact is that if this is being spreaded, then people will take it as the truth. And this won't be good for our kind. I hope you take it under your consideration.

No one believed Adi when he said everything to the police and to the Sehgals. The police laughed hearing about the naagin thing and Kuhu is certainly not in any situation to talk to anyone. let alone 6 months, 6 years won't be enough to forget all these. Bela lacks patience nowadays. She becomes half snake and catches Adi before he could run away. Adi trying hard to get rid of her hold, before he is crushed to death.

-- You have no reason to live. I should have killed you long before. But spared you only because you are no match for me, you are a human.

Adi, unable to free himself, tries his last to weaken Bela.

-- He was a human too! The most generous human I had ever seen. But what did you do with him? You punished him for loving you? He had to pay the price with the life of his family, the price for believing you. It is only because you, you are not a human. This is why Mahir had to die. Am I right naagrani?

Bela's tail and snake body got immediately vanished. She stumbled on the ground. As if the words of this tiny human being has attacked her like a thousand swords.

Since this morning everyone was looking for Aditya

He is not in Hekim's chamber.

-- Then where is he?

-- Have patience Saif. He must have gone to get the herbs, he was telling me about this the day before.

But Saif was not able to have any patience. His daughter is crying uncontrollably. Maybe her pain is increasing again.

He came out of the small hut of the hekim. And just then spotted Aditya returning with some herbs in his hand.

-- Ab aye ho tum?

-- Woh actually, they only grow in deep jungle. It took me some time to find.

-- Then why didn't you take Rafi with you? You want to go alone and get lost? So that everyone can say that 'Oh poor Aditya died fetching herbs for the mukhya's daughter"

Aditya only smiled.

-- Go go inside, get the medicine. My daughter is at pain.

Aditya and Hekim prepared the medicines for the mukhya's daughter. This 6 year old kid often starts feeling pain in her stomach. The medicine was given to her, her pain lessened for some time.

-- You are certainly a magician hekim ji. She is so relieved now.

Aditya said in a happy voice.

-- You went there to get the herbs Aditya beta. Thank you for that. But next time don't go without taking Rafi with you. You are new here. I don't want you to roam around the jungle and get beaten by any snake and kill yourself.

-- People don't die twice hekim ji!

-- What did you say?

-- Nothing. Excuse me, I will go and have the breakfast in my hut. Rafi must be sitting without eating anything.

For six months this boy is staying in this village. He is now part of this community. Other than her religious veiws, nothing else differs from the villagers. For days after days he could not sense anything but dark. He didn't know he was alive or not. Does death only means darkness? Then one day he felt like he could see some sort of light. But nothing clear, just abstracts. He fell unconscious immediately. The next day he could see some faces, faces of Saif and Hekim ji. At first he couldn't understand whether it was Saif or Andy, they have similarities.

-- D...dad?!

-- He got consciousness!

And this was the beginning of another chapter of Mahir's life. So the moment they asked him his name, he changed it. Just as he wished he could change everything. But it was not possible. He wishes that he forgets Bela forever. But why can't he?

-- Why did you do this to me Bela? Why? I will never forgive you.

Mahir entered his small hut. It is nothing compared to his levish house. But still, this is his home now.

Rafi signed him to sit and have something. He knew this boy wouldn't eat without him. This twelve year old orphan boy, got lost in the jungle 7 years ago. Hekim ji found him in the forest . Since then, he lives with the hekim. Rafi cannot speak. Mahir got affectionate to this boy from the very beginning. Rafi is also very fond of his Aditya bhai.

They were about to take the first bite of the food, when they heard Jamil shouting and going towards the mukhya's hut.
