CHAPTER 6
[ Past ]
After reaching the hotel, Maahir and Bela both went to their suites and freshened up and Maahir planned to have dinner with Bela and for that after getting ready he went straight to her suite. He rang the bell but Bela didn't respond which made him confuse and thought that she might like some privacy and so he decided to have his dinner alone in the restaurant. With a bit of heavy heart, when Maahir came out in the lobby, he found Bela had already grabbed a table and was checking the menu. Maahir was very happy on seeing her and a curve formed on his face as his fingers travelled through his hair and he walked towards her and cleared his throat to grab her attention. Bela looked towards that direction and on seeing him gave a smile and said,Arey Captain aap?? Aaiye aaiye bethiye vaise bhi akele khaana mujhe achcha nehi lagta hai. Maahir took his seat just opposite of her and hen said,Mera to jab flights hota hai, tab Anu ke saath kha leta hu varna mere paas akele khaane ke alava koi aur option bhi nehi hai. Bela casually asked,Kyu aapki family bahaar rehti hai? Maahir nodded his head and replied,Nehi mere parents ki kuch saalo pehle ek accident mein death ho gayi aur shaadi abhi tak maine ki nehi hai. So...no option right!! Bela felt very bad on hearing about Maahir and said,Iam sorry captain!! Maahir smiled and said,Don't be!! Abhi actually mujhe aadat ho gayi hai. Bela playfully said, "To phir aap shaadi kyu nehi kar lete hai captain? I mean aap good looking hai, itni achchi set job hai aur aapki to har sector mein bohot achchi reputation bhi hai. Bela used her last sentence very meaningfully and Maahir understood that but he didn't get the point and gave her a What-do-you-mean-look' and Bela tilted her head a bit and pointed towards her left and Maahir followed that direction and found that the airhostesses were sitting there and stealing glances at him. Maahir gave a very shy look to Bela and his cheeks turned red. Bela smiled on seeing him blush and said,Oh my god!! Captain aap blush kar rahe hai? That's so cute!! You know captain agar itna cute mera koi boyfriend hota na I would have kissed him right now!! Maahir was drinking water and he choked on hearing Bela's words. He put the glass back and asked,What? Bela, without any hesitation replied,Of course!! But don't think ke main aap par line maar rahi hu. Mujhe bas aise cute se larke bare pasand hai khaaskar blush karne par jinke gaalo mein aise dimples aate hai. Maahir muttered to himself,Kya baat hai Maahir Sehgal, tune to paani maanga tha yaha to baarish ho rahi hai, aaj to teri sahi mein lottery lag gayi hai yaar. Bela asked,Kuch kaha aapne? Maahir smiled and replied, Nehi kuch nehi!! Main to aise hi kabhi bhi apne aap se baate kar leta hu, meri aadat hai. Bela smiled back and said,Main to order de rahi hu, mujhe bohot bhukh lagi hai. Agar aapko kuch order karna hai to aap abhi kar sakte hai. She then called a waiter and said,Mere liye one rice, two naan, one daal makhni, one kadhai paneer aur last mein ice cream aur ha papad bhi dena masaale waali. Captain aapko kuch chahiye? Maahir swallowed the lump formed in his throat on hearing the order given by Bela and then almost in a scared tone asked the waiter,Bhai khichdi milegi? Bela made a face like a cartoon and then asked,Kyu Captain aapka pet kharaab hai? The waiter took the order and left from there and then Maahir replied,Aapke orders sunke achche achcho ka pet kharaab ho jaayega par ha agar aapne itna sab khaaya na to kal se aapko bhi khichdi hi khaani paregi. Bela gave a broad smile and then replied,Main Punjabi hu, desi ghee kha kar bari hui hu, mujhe kuch nehi hoga. Hamaare ghar mein mamma khaana banaati hai aur vo bhi asli ghee mein. Main aapko ek baat batau? Aap na jaldi se ek Punjabi soni kudi dhundh kar shaadi kar lijiye phir aapki biwi aapko Punjabi khaane bana kar khilaayegi aur phir aapka kabhi pet kharaab nehi hogi. After sometime, while they were talking, the order was served and Bela said to Maahir,Aap chahe to mujhse share kar sakte hai. I won't mind. Maahir though was very hungry but was scared to eat so much of the food and on seeing his hesitation, Bela put a spoonful of the paneer on his plate where Maahir already had put his khichdi. She herself put at first the rice on her plate and then put 2-3 spoonful of the lentil and paneer on her dish and then broke the papad soundfully and sprinkled it over the rice and then started having her food with her bare hand. Maahir was about to have his own food but stopped on seeing how Bela was eating her food by licking her hand. When Bela found that Maahir was staring at her, she said,What?? Ye dal bohot achchi bani hai aur daal chawal mujhse chammach se nehi khaaya jaata. Maahir was about a put a spoonful of his own food inside his mouth when Bela broke another papad and sprinkled it over his plate and looked at him with her brows raised and excited and pointed at his plate and so Maahir then tasted his own khichdi and he really found that to be very delicious with the blend of that sprinkled papad on it and he too raised his brows in appreciation. In response to his appreciation, Bela shook her shoulder. After finishing their foods, Maahir said,Aajtak maine invitation ko chor kar sirf Anu aur Kuhu ke saath khaana khaaya hai. Lekin aaj lagta hai ke...akele ghar mein beth kar khaana khaana...shaayad abhi aur achcha nehi lage aur sahi batau to aapke saath khaana kha kar itna bura bhi nehi laga. Maahir gave a meaningful smile to Bela but she didn't understand the hidden meaning behind it and so she agreed and said,Yes the only thing matters is that you should have a good companion. Maahir took a deep breath and replied,Indeed! Just then Bela's ice cream was served and she started having her ice cream and Maahir continued staring at her.
It was almost midnight and Maahir was not getting any sleep in his room and so after changing his positions in the bed for some time, he decided to go out for a walk thinking that it might help in getting him some sleep. He came out in the lobby after locking his door and suddenly he heard loud sounds coming from somewhere in the lobby. When he followed the source of the sound, he found that it was coming from their banquet hall. He was curious and so he stopped one hotel staff and asked,Ye itni raat ko waha kaisi awaaz hai? The staff looked there and replied,Vo na 3 din baad is hotel mein shaadi hai to vo larkiya na milkar apni waali bachelor party kar rahi hai. Usi ke vajah se thora shor sharaaba hai. Kal se to ye hotel pura book rahega shaadi ke reception tak. The staff left from there and Maahir, out of curiosity, started walking towards that direction and from outside the door he tried to peep inside very cautiously and remained open mouthed out of shock when his eyes fall on a girl standing above a table and was dressed up in men's getup and dancing with other girls and the girl in that getup was none other than Bela herself. Maahir was amused at the next second and on seeing her all happy and just like a child which reminded him of the moment when he first saw her. A smile formed on his face and he nodded his head and then said,Kya larki hai baap re baap!! Ekdam antique piece, jitney atrangi kaam hai sab karti hai. Par na lagti bhi bari cute hai. Bela's hairs were tied and after some time she untied her hair and her smooth and silky hair fall directly on her face which made Maahir's heart skipped a bit and he said to himself,Haayo rabba!! Pehli mulaaqat mein to hosh uraa gayi abhi to lagta hai dil halak mein se nikaalne ka pura plan banaya hai. Aisa hi chalta raha na beta tu to permanently kaam se jaayega. Ye larkiya drunk hone ke baad itni kaatil kyu lagti hai? He killed his plan of going out and thought to hide behind a pillar and watch over the party especially Bela. As this was a women's party so just like male bachelor party there was full enjoyment, drinks and all and as usual, Bela starting with taking sips ended up getting full drunk. After like almost an hour, the party ended and the girls decided to leave for their respective rooms. Maahir too moved away on a safe side and pretended as if he was coming back from somewhere and intentionally bumped with Bela. Bela looked at him and then with the smile just like a Buddhist monk, she saluted him and said,Good morning Captain!! First Officer Bela Sareen reporting sir!! Maahir controlled his smile and with asked,Ms. Sareen aapne phir se pee hui hai? Bela bit her tongue and nodded her head and replied,Nehi nehi maine nehi pee hai, un logo ne na thoooriii si pilaadi hai, zyaada nehi peelane diya maine. Aap vaise itni subhe subhe morning walk karke waapas bhi aa gaye?Maahir showed her his watch and said,Abhi subhe nehi aadhi raat hai. Chaliye main aapko aapke bedroom tak chor deta hu.He gave away his hand to Bela so that she can hold it but instead she grabbed his arms and walked with him. Maahir opened the lift door and was about to get inside the lift, but Bela stopped him and then made a scary face and whispered,Lift ke andar mat jaanaaa!!! Andar na itna bariii billi hai vo aapko kaat degi.He remembered the flight incident where he first met Bela and gave her a helpless Not - again' kind of look and then said to her,Apna muh bandh rakkho pehle!!Ekdam chup!! Bela obediently listened to him and then put her finger on her lips and Maahir pulled her inside the lift and Bela folded her lips and said,Mujhe billi kaategi. Maahir almost scolded her and said,Koi billi nehi hai andar, koi nehi kaategi, main hu na. Tum bas chup raho!! Maahir pressed the button of the lift and as the door closed, with one finger, Bela covered her lips and with the other hand she grabbed Maahir's arms and gave scary looks all over. After the lift door opened, Maahir took her to her room and asked for the key. Bela raised both her hands and then said,Mujhe yaad nehi kaha par rakkhi hai chaabi. Aap search karlo. Maahir didn't want to go through that process and so he took her to his room and then made her sleep on his bed and said,Main chalta hu, bahaar couch par so jaaunga aap yehi soiye aur please bahaar mat nikalna. Bela got up on the bed like a spring and then immediately grabbed his hand and said,Nei nei!! Aap mat jaao aap yehi betho!! Main akele nei soungi, aap yehi par bethe raho. Maahir, in a scared tone asked,Hum dono yaha ek kamre mein kaise reh sakte hai? She angrily replied,Sona parega varna main bohot maarungi. Maahir thought that she could be very violent in this case and so he didn't take risk and he sat beside her and then she lied down again. After sometime, when Maahir felt that she has fallen asleep, he slowly got up to leave, but Bela said,Main abhi tak soyi nehi hu. Chupchap yaha betho varna bohot pitaai hogi aaj. She glared at him angrily and then he had no other option left except to sit again. As he sat down, Bela grabbed his hand and then put it under her head and held it tight so that he could not escape. She fall fast asleep and seeing her cute sleeping face, Maahir's all anger melted immediately and he lovingly rubbed her head and said,Aisa nehi hai ke yaha se jaane ke liye main maraa ja raha hu par vo kya hai na aise ek larka larki bina shaadi kiye ek room mein... bari ajeeb si feeling aati hai. He started yawning as his eyes too were getting heavy but he could not leave from there as his hand rested under Bela's head and he was too scared to remove his hand. He slowly shifted himself on the floor and leaned on the corner of the bed and after sometime, he too fall asleep. Next morning, when Bela woke up, she found Maahir sitting on the floor beside the bed and seeing that she screamed aloud and on hearing her scream, Maahir woke up with a jerk and screamed,Kya hua itni zor se chillayi kyu? Bela got up on the bed and angrily asked,Main kyu chillayi?? Mere jagah par koi aur larki hoti to vo bhi aise hi chillati. Aap mere room mein kya kar rahe ho? Aur kya kiya tha kal mere saath? Maahir gave such a look to Bela as if he had just landed on an alien planet and replied,Main kya kar raha hu? Ye mera room hai by the way aur aap to kal pee kar tunn hui pari thi aur apni room ki keys bhi aapne kho di to mujhe majburan aapko apne room mein laana para aur kal aur main jab bhi jaane ki koshish kar raha tha, aap mujhe rok leti thi. Mujhe jaane to diya hi nehi ulta mera haath pakar kar soyi hai aap puri raat.She sat in a relaxing position and confusingly asked,Aapne sach mein kal raat ko mere saath kuch nehi kiya tha?Maahir already was very angry at her accusations but became even more angry at her question and said,Ek kaam karta hu ,karke batata hu. Saying he gave one step towards her and she screamed,Nehi!! With a smile, she politely replied,Mujhe aap par pura yakeen hai. Aap bohot achche insaan hai. Bohot shareef aadmi hai aap. Aaj flight par jaana hai, main tayyar ho jaati hu, aap bhi jaaiye please. Saying she searched her clothes and found her keys and ran out of his room. Maahir gave a strange look and said,Kya fursat se banaya hai bhagwaan ne is one piece ko. Main bhi jaakar tayyar ho jaata hu agar ek aur second bhi iske baare mein socha to paagal ho jaaunga!! He nodded his head in disappointment and then left for taking bath.
While on their flight back to Delhi, Bela looked at Maahir and said to him,Aapko pata hai Captain aap bohot achche hai isliye mujhe na aap par pura yakeen hai ke aapne sahi mein kal raat ko kuch nehi kiya hoga mere saath. Maahir's expressions changed and he at first took a deep breath and then looked at her and said,Actually main aapko sach sach batau Miss Sareen, kal raat ko na... He gave a pause and in a very tensed tone continued,Kal raat ko na... Bela already had pouted and was ready to cry and asked,Kal raat ko kya? Maahir replied,Kal raat ko hamaare beech mein na vo sab kuch ho gaya tha. Bela, in a crying tone said,Hai?? Aapne mere saath... Ye aapne sahi nehi kiya. Main bata rahi hu aapko. Maahir replied,Maine kuch nehi kiya jo kuch bhi kiya vo to aaphine kiya hai mere saath. Main to bas ek bichaara sa aadmi hu, mujhe kuch bhi karna nehi para. Bela literally started crying on hearing what Maahir was saying and replied,Haaye rabba!! Aapka satyanaash ho!! Ab mera kya hoga? Papa to mujhe ghar se hi nikaal denge. Phir main kya karungi? Mujhse kaun shaadi karega? Mera to Europe jaane ka plan tha honeymoon mein. Sab barbaad ho gaya aapke vajah se. Suddenly she stopped crying and in a fearful tone said,Agar main pregnant ho gayi to? Phir main kya karungi, mere papa to mujhe jaan se hi maar denge. Although I love kids, mujhe bachche achche lagte hai par... Oh God!! Pehle bachche ki tension thi abhi to uska naam bhi sochna parega. Agar beta hua to...to... Rishabh Sehgal naam rakkhungi aur agar beti hui to... Maahir was enjoying Bela's plight till now but the moment, Bela mentioned about pregnancy' he started coughing and when she used Maahir's surname for her imaginary baby, he screamed,Sehgal kyu? Bela replied,Kyu matlab? Aap papa banenge uske to aaphika surname hoga na. Sab apne papa ka hi surname use karte hai na. Maahir was simply amazed at Bela's way of thinking and he started clapping for her and said,Nehi sach mein aap itna atrangi soch kaise leti hai mujhe zara seekhaayengi? Kya kamaal ka dimaag hai aapka...matlab...Kya bolu main. He raised his palm on Bela's face and replied,Dekhiye Ms. Bela Sareen hamaare beech mein kuch nehi hua, main bas aapki le raha tha kyuki aapne kal mujhe bara pareshaan kiya hai. Jab aap peene ke baad apne aap ko handle nehi kar sakti hai to aap peeti kyu hai? Bela again pouted and asked,Captain aapne mujhe daata? Maahir was about to say something but on seeing her adorable pouting face, he just could not utter a single word but just smiled and concentrated on flying the aircraft. After the landing of the flight, when Maahir and Bela were walking inside the airport, she took out a chocolate from her pocket and said,Mujhe yakeen nehi hota hai ke aapne mujhe is tarah se ullu banaya Captain. Maahir excitedly replied,Mujhe bara mazaa aaya hai kyuki aap already do baar meri le chuki hai. Hamesha main hi milt ahu kya aapko target banaane ke liye? Bela made a face to him and suddenly her eyes fall on her father who was looking at her and waved his hand and on seeing him, Bela looked at Maahir with a grin and muttered,Main aapko warn kar rahi hu captain, agar aapne mere kal raat ke adventure ke baare mein kisiko kuch bhi bataya aur khaaskar agar mere papa ke kaano tak pohcha to aapko main chorungi nehi keh rahi hu main. Saying she pushed the chocolate inside Maahir's mouth and said,So apna muh bandh rakhna. Before Maahir could react, Ranjit reached upto them and asked,So Captain Sehgal how was your flight with my daughter? Maahir removed the chocolate from his mouth and replied,Bohot achchi thi and she's an amazing pilot. Ranjit was very happy and said,I knew my baby would do well. So I take your leave. Ranjit wrapped Bela by her shoulder and turned to leave. Before leaving Bela gave a last look to Maahir and mocked him showing her tongue which made Maahir go aww!' at her. "Hullo brother!, Suddenly a familiar voice made Maahir turned towards that direction and he found Kuhu standing there and he said,Hi sis! Kuhu rested her elbow on Maahir's shoulder and looked at leaving Bela and asked,Pata hai na vo boss ki beti hai? Maahir nodded his head and Kuhu asked,Kudi pasand aa gayi hai kya? Maahir replied,Kudi to pehle din se pasand hai bas dar lagta hai, chokri ke vajah se naukri na chorni pare. Kuhu teased Maahir and replied,Pyar kiya to darna kya? Vaise bhi vo bohot lucky hogi kyuki tumhaare jaisa what they say...uh...ya...'sarv gun sampann' larka usko thore hi milega? Tum kaho to main baat chalau? Maahir removed Kuhu's elbow from his shoulder and replied,Marvaayegi kya? Maine kaha kudi pasand hai ye nehi kaha ke pyar ho gaya usse. Vaise bhi item' hai ye atrangi aur vo bhi ek number ki. Achcha khaasa aadmi iske saath paagal ho jaayega aur agar maine isse shaadi ki to mere bachche namune paida honge. Par ha ek baat to hai... He continued looking at Bela and said,Jab bhi iske saath hota hu na, dil mein kuch kuch hota to hai. Kuhu patted on his back and said,Congrats Maahir, though you don't realize it but my brother but you are in love. Ok main chalti hu meri flight hai. Bye!! Kuhu left from there and Maahir looked at the chocolate at his hand and chuckled remembering Bela's angry face.
[ 1 Month Later ]
Gradually, one month passed by and by that time, Maahir and Bela's sweet and bitter relationship slowly turned into friendship and Bela and Maahir both started calling each other by their names. As time passed, Maahir, who was already in love with Bela, as he fall in love with her at first sight, slowly started realizing the same and therefore got more and more interested in spending time with her and even ocassionaly flirted with her and as a result started avoiding Anu who was still unaware of the recent romantic development in Maahir. Bela, on the other hand, by that time had realized that there was not just friendship from Maahir's side and something more to that, but still unknown to her conscious self, she could not just avoid Maahir's company and unintentionally entertains his flirty nature as she knew that no matter how much flirt Maahir was, but he was a true gentleman and she never would have to worry about anything, whenever she was with him. One day, after having a flight together, both Maahir and Bela came out of the flight and while walking together, he said to Bela,Vaise Bela hume ek saath fly kiye kaafi time ho chuka hai, so I was thinking ke hume ek dusre ke saath aur time spend karna chahiye.Bela asked,Kyu tumhe mujhse shaadi karni hai? Maahir stopped in his way and looked at her quite surprisingly and then asked,Tumhe kaise pata? She smiled and replied,Tumhaari shakal par clear likha hai Bela-I-so-want-to-marry-you'!! But problem ye hai ke mujhe tumse shaadi karne mein koi interest nehi hai kyuki tum mere type ke nehi ho. Main tumhaare jaise flirty aadmi se kabhi bhi shaadi nehi karungi kyuki vo trustworthy nehi hote hai. Ek mahina hua hai mujhe join kiye aur tum abhi se mere saath flirt kar rahe ho to pata nehi yaha kitni saari larkiyo ke saath already flirt kar chuke ho aur mera aur tumhaara nature bhi bilkul opposite hai. Maahir smiled and replied,Tabhi to kehte hai opposites attract.Bela, with an attitude, replied,Achcha?? But you know what Mr Sehgal, if you really want to gain someone's attention then you have to earn it!!Maahir too, with the same attitude asked,Really??? To agar maine vo kar liya to? Tab aapka jawaab kya hoga Miss Sareen? Kya tab aap ha karengi? Bela thought and replied,Mmm...tab main sochungi tumhaare baare mein.He seemed to accept the challenge and then said,Dekh lena tum sochogi hi nehi you will definitely accept it!! Vo kya hai na maine hamesha se hi suna hai ke mere charm ko avoid karna mushkil hi nehi naamumkin hai. Bela replied,Oh really?? Thik hai dekh lenge, tumhaare jaise bohot saare bando se na US mein paala para hai mera par aajtak saare Bela Sareen ki sirf ek nazar ke liye taraste reh gaye. Maahir said,Honge saare aashiq aapke magar har koi Maahir Sehgal thore hi hota hai? Hum to hum hi hai, hamaari to baat hi kuch aur hai. Bela mocked him and replied,Thik hai baad ki baad mein dekh lenge pehle chalo kisi achchi jagah par jaakar lunch karte hai, mujhe bohot bhukh lagi hai.Maahir replied,Ok sure!! Today's lunch is on me. Bela nodded her head and Maahir took her to a restaurant for lunch. After lunch, after Maahir dropped Bela home, she invited him inside and Maahir too accepted the invitation. She rang the bell and then whispered to Maahir,Ab dekhna mamma tumko dekhegi to tumhaari kaisi khaatirdaari hogi. Maahir made a confused face and asked,Kyu? Tumhaari ma ne mujhe abhi se apna daamaad maan liya hai kya? Bela gave him a fed up look and replied,Itne bhi sapne mat dekho Maahir!! Main ye isliye bol rahi hu kyuki tum na meri mamma ke type ke Punjabi ho. At that moment, the door opened and seeing Bela and Maahir, the servant who opened the door, went to call Madhu. When Madhu arrived, she was extremely overwhelmed on seeing Maahir and she said,Arey Maahir puttar aao aao andar aao!! Maine to puttarji aapke baare mein Bela se bohot sun rakkha hai. Meri bohot dili tamanna thi aapse milu.Maahir touched her feet and Madhu was boundlessly happy and said,Dekha Bela kitna sanskaari bachcha hai. Mujhe to apne liye bilkul aisa hi damaad chahiye hai.In a joking tone, Maahir replied,Mam main to Bela se yehi keh raha tha aaj. Mujhe koi problem nehi hai aur mere jaisa achcha husband usko milega bhi nehi. Pata hai mujhe na khaana banana bhi aata hai, aapki beti ko kitchen mein kabhi bhi kadam nehi rakhna parega.Madhu excitedly said to Bela,Haayo rabba!! Puttar ye to raazi bhi hai. Main to keh rahi hu Bela maan ja, varna tere papa teri shaadi apne kisi jaat waale se kara denge aur ye log bare boreing hote hai. Matlab punjabiyo ke naam par dhabba, menu bilkul bhi pasand nehi hai. Pyar karna to hamaare type ke punjabiyo ko aata hai. Bela was extremely bored and said,Mamma stop embarrassing me aur ye kya Maahir pehli baar hamaare ghar aaya hai aur aa pho ki ye sab baate lekar beth gayi. Papa kaha hai? Madhu replied,Arey tere papa Delhi se bahaar gaye hai do din baad lautenge. Maahir puttar aap andar aao, iski baat zyaada sunne ki zarurat nehi hai. Maahir made a face to Bela and entered inside and said,Mam vo kya hai na... Madhu stopped him and said,Ye kya mam laga rakkha hai, mere pati honge aapke boss main nehi. Aap to mujhe auntyji bulao koi gal nehi. Bela mocked and said,Oh no no Maahir auntyji kyu mummyji hi bula lo. Mamma to bilkul aarti ki thaali ke saath tumhaara swaagat karne ke liye tayyar hai. Hai na mamma? Madhu said,Ha menu pasand hai ye munda. Dekha kina sona munda hai, sanskaari hai, khaana bhi bana sakta hai, achcha khaasa kamaata bhi hai. Twanu problem ki hai? Tere papa se main baat karlungi aur agar phir bhi nehi mane na to bhaag ke shaadi kar lena, mujhe koi problem nehi hai. Bela was looking at her mother in disbelief and said,Mamma ek kaam kyu nehi karti ho agar aapko Maahir itna pasand hai to usko goad lelo na, saari problem hi khatam ho jaayegi. Maahir said to Madhu,Auntyji aap na iski baato par dhyaan mat dijiye, ye to hai hi jalkukri vo kya hai aap jo mujhe attention de rahi hai, isko jalan ho rahi hai aur ha Bela ghar ka daamaad bete jaisa hi hota hai. Hai na auntyji? Madhu agreed and that was the last thing Bela could tolerate and she immediately pushed Maahir out of the house and said,Tumhe ghar ke andar bula kar maine bohot bari galti kardi hai. Jaao abhi apne ghar jaao, main bhi bohot thak gayi hu flight lekar. Maahir made a face and asked,Tum ghar ke daamaad ki beizzati kar rahi ho? Bela crossed her arms around her chest and glared at Maahir and he got her signal and gave her a flying kiss and left from there and Bela too closed the door nodding her head in disappointment.
One day, Bela was sitting alone in the airport cafe and she ordered a chocolate pudding for herself with a non veg snacks. Anu, from the other side, almost pulled Maahir with her and came into the cafe. They grabbed a seat and then Maahir asked,Kya hua aise kheech kar kyu lekar aayi? Anu replied,To aur main kya karu Maahir main bohot dino se dekh rahi hu ke tum mere saath pehle jaise time spend hi nehi karte ho aur ye sab tabse zyaada ho raha hai jabse vo Bela aayi hai. Maahir smiled and teased Anu and whispered,Dheere bolo Anu vo hamaare boss ki beti hai. Yaha to deewar ke bhi kaan hote hai kahi agar kisine sun liya to hamaari job chali jaayegi. Tum to vaise bhi millionaire ki beti ho par main to bichaara garib aadmi hu, mujhe to paise chahiye. Saying he started laughing and then Anu, out of extreme disgust said,Tumhe har baat par sirf mazaak sujhta rehta hai na Maahir. Life mein kabhi to serious ho jaao. Just then Maahir's eyes fall on Bela who was playing with her chocolate pudding by dipping her finger in that and moving her finger into the pudding. Anu kept on talking with Maahir but his attention was only on Bela. After a few seconds, Anu noticed that Maahir's attention was not there and he was looking somewhere else. When Anu looked towards that, she found that he was staring at Bela with a smile on his face and on seeing that, Anu was extremely disturbed and then she again looked at Bela and said,Maahir main tumse baat kar rahi hu aur tum ho ke tumhaara dhyaan kisi aur taraf hai. Maahir said,Tum bolti raho na main sun raha hu.Anu blocked Maahir's view and said,Jab tum mere saath ho to sirf mujhse hi baat karo samjhe.He made a face and then asked,Achcha bolo kya bol rahi thi? Anu seriously asked,Kya tum Bela ko pasand karte ho?Maahir smiled and replied,Of course!!Vo hai hi aisi.She nodded her head in disbelief and said,Tumhe isko like karte ho??? Yaad hai ek din tumhine kaha tha ke Bela itna bolti hai, itna bolti hai ke agar saamne waale ko kuch bolna bhi ho to vo bhul jaata hai aur khaana vo do aadmiyo ka akele khaati hai. Shaadi mein jaati hai to baraat mein naachti hai,larko ke saath keechar mein football khelti hai. Oh God!! Usme larkiyo jaisi koi baat hi nehi hai. Anu again looked at Bela and found that she was not having her pudding with the spoon but with her finger and seeing that she felt disgusted and said,Just look at her, the way she's eating!! He kept on looking at her and said,Kya hua bari cute hi to lag rahi hai. The moment Anu glared at Maahir, he immediately stopped looking at Bela and said,Yehi baat to usse sabse alag karti hai na. Usme kuch baat hai jo mujhe hamesha uske taraf attract karti hai. Uski har ada, har choti choti harkate kisi bhi dukhi aadmi ke chehre par smile lekar aati hai. Anu nodded her head in disappointment and said,Maahir tumhaara dimaag kharaab ho gaya hai. Main chalti hu mere flight ka time ho gaya hai.Saying she left from there. As soon as Anu left from there, Maahir continued his work of staring at Bela. After having her pudding, she got up and found Maahir still staring at her. She walked upto him and asked,Aise ghur kyu rahe ho? Kabhi kisi larki ko kya pudding khaate huye nehi dekha? Maahir, too got up and then replied,Nehi khaate huye dekha to hai par tumhaari to har baat hi thori ajeeb hai kyuki tum normal larkiyo jaisi to ho nehi, isliye kabhi kabhi agar na bhi chaho to bhi tumhaare taraf dhyaan kheecha chala hi jaata hai. Bela smiled and said,Captain Maahir Sehgal behave yourself main aapke employer ki beti hu. Agar main chahu to mujhe cherne ke ilzaam mein aapki job bhi ja sakti hai.He came a bit close to her and then said,Aapke papa agar mujhe apna ghar jamaai banana ko tayyar ho to mujhe aitraaz nehi hai ye job chorne mein. Varna ye purey QUEENS AIRLINES ko pata hai ke Maahir Sehgal se better pilot unko kahi nehi mil sakta hai. Isliye aapke papa mujhe khone ka itna bara risk kabhi nehi lenge.Bela rested her chin on the knuckles of her fingers and said,Over confidence achcha nehi hota hai Captain Sehgal. He whispered,Aap abhi tak mujhe jaanti hi kitna hai. Bela put on her cap and said,Well mujhe zyaada janna bhi nehi hai!! Main chalti hu kyuki mera abhi flight hai. Saying she started walking towards the lift. Bela stopped at the lift's door and then slowly turned towards him and then pointed at him and with the movement of her lips, she mentioned him to be a complete mad. Maahir didn't mind and in the same way, he too, with the movement of his lips mentioned that he was mad for her. Bela turned against him and continued walking towards the lift. Maahir suddenly ran behind Bela and both stood together in front of the lift and seeing that Bela was surprised and asked,Tum mera peecha kar rahe the?He agreed and replied,Ha bilkul par ab ye mat kehna ke tumhe ye sab pasand nehi hai kyuki har khubsurat larki ko ye baat achchi lagti hai ke agar koi handsome sa larka unke peeche pare to and you are not exceptional. Bela looked at him from head-to-toe and then said,Tumhe larkiyo ke baare mein kaafi knowledge hai.In a mocking tone,he said,Nehi main to paida hone ke baad seedha seedha yaha aa gaya. College vollege to main kabhi gaya hi nehi hu. Hai na?Bela made a face and then the lift door opened. On seeing the man inside the lift, both Bela and Maahir became sad as he was their seniormost pilot, Captain Qureshi, very strict and always behaves like a military general and a very good friend of Ranjit Sareen. Qureshi said,Bela achcha hua tum mujhe mil gayi ,aaj tumhaara captain main hu. Mujhe jald se jald report karo. Bela's heart sank and she and Maahir stood behind Qureshi and Bela made a face as if she would be going to hell with Qureshi. She looked at Maahir and then nodded her head sadly signalling that she didn't want to go to this flight especially with him.The moment the lift stopped, Qureshi walked ahead of them and Bela ,in the back, said to Maahir,Iam telling you Maahir, main Captain Qureshi ke saath 10 minute ka flight bhi nehi ura sakti. Unke saath to aisa lagta hai jaise ke flight mein nehi jung ke maidaan mein bethi hui hu. Please can you do something? Maahir gave a Gotcha!' kinda smile and quickly asked,Tumhaari help karne se mujhe kya milega?She replied,Anything you ask for.He said,Ok deal!! Apni promise bhulna mat.He walked upto Qureshi and said,Sir ye bohot buri baat hai!! Aap to mujhe bhul hi gaye.Qureshi said,No Maahir bilkul bhi nehi. Tum to mere sabse favourate pilot ho. Maahir replied,Sir jabse ye nayi co-pilot aayi hai, aap to apne is favourate student ko bhul hi gaye ke Maahir naam ka ek pilot hai jisey kabhi aap bohot pasand karte the. Qureshi smiled and replied,Aisi baat nehi hai my boy. Achcha thik hai chalo,flight par chalne se pehle tumhaare saath ek cup coffee peeta hu.He alongwith Maahir went to another cafe on that floor and before leaving Maahir winked at Bela. After an hour during the final reporting, a news arrived that Captain Qureshi suddenly fall sick and so he would not be able to fly and Bela was tensed but she understood that Maahir must have done something. When Maahir arrived, she could easily see the winning smile on his face. Mr Sen, the airport manager was tensed thinking whom to send with Bela. He called another senior pilot, who was free in this schedule and was coming to the airport for some work, but on asking Prashant told that he couldn't reach the airport that soon since there was huge traffic, making Mr Sen more tensed. Maahir,who was an absolute smart guy, grabbed the opportunity and said to Mr Sen,Mr Sen mere paas aapke problem ka ek solution hai. Dekhiye Captain Prashant apni ek official kaam ke vajah se yaha aa rahe hai,par vo abhi nehi pohoch sakte hai. Meri flight kareeb do dhaai ghante baad hai, to kyu na meri flight ko vo lele aur ye Captain Qureshi ka flight main le leta hu, if you don't have any objection.Mr Sen felt like as if someone provided him with an extra cylinder of oxygen and he said, Objection???Kaisi baat kar rahe hai aap Captain Sehgal? Ye to saari problem hi solve kar di aapne. To phir thik hai First Officer Bela ka flight ka captain aap honge. Maahir thanked him and Bela kept on staring at him. After they both came out, Bela asked,Mujhe aisa kyu lagta hai ke tumne Captain Qureshi ke saath kuch kiya hai?Maahir replied,Zyada kuch nehi kiya hai maine. Bela looked at him with disbelief and then she said,Maahir you know you are just... Sach sach bataana ye sab tumne isiliye kiya hai na taaki tum mere flight mein captain ban sako. Hai na?Maahir replied,Agar ek kaam mein hum dono ka faayda ho to isme buraai kya hai? Tumhi keh rahi thi na ke tumhe Captain Qureshi ke saath flight par nehi jaana aur mujhe bhi kisi aur co-pilot ke saath flight par jaane ka mood nehi ho raha hai. Thats it!! She said,Vo to kisi aur co-pilot ke saath jaane ka tumhaara mood kabhi bhi nehi hota hai Maahir. Sach sach batao tumne kya kiya unke saath Maahir?He made an ignorant face and replied,Zyaada kuch nehi kiya hai bas do drop loose motion ki dawaai milaayi thi, 3-4 baar jaayenge to unka pet pura saaf ho jaayega. Don't worry!!The way Maahir said what he did, made Bela burst out into laughter and Maahir stared at her as she was looking beautiful while she was laughing and then after sometime, she stopped laughing and replied,You are impossible Maahir!! Maahir bowed a bit to accept his appreciation and then both together walked towards their aircraft.
