CHAPTER 7

[Present]

[India, 2 days later]

It was 3 am in the morning and Maahir was sleeping like a dog when his peaceful sleep and the deep dark night was broken into pieces when his phone suddenly started ringing. Maahir was in such a deep sleep that at first he didn't even listen to the ringing. After a long time, he opened his eyes and made a moaning sound out of disturbance and without opening his eyes, started searching for his phone and when he got it, without looking at the number, received the call.

M : (in an annoyed sleepy tone) "Who the hell's calling?

B : (almost in a crying tone) "Daddy main bol rahi hu.

The dizziness of sleep completely washed away as if someone poured a bucket of water over him and he almost jumped on his bed.

M : (was very scared on hearing Bulbul crying at that time) "Bulbul??? Aap...Kya hua beta? Aapne itni raat gaye phone kiya koi problem hai? Kuch hua hai batao daddy ko bataao sab kuch, kya hua? Kya hua mera bachcha?

B : "Daddy main kal itne bare bare na ande dene waali hu, mujhe kuch nehi aata.

M : "Hai?? Kya?

B : "Kal mera maths ka test hai na daddy aur main apne saare sums bhool gayi hu. Aap mere saare sums kara do na daddy. Mamma ke paas to time hi nehi hai.

Maahir was in such a mental condition that he was neither in a position to get angry at her nor he was in the condition to reply anything as he was too shocked on hearing the reason behind her call. He was not able to figure out what he should say or do with her.

M : "Beta is time par sums solve karu? Abhi raat ke 3 baj rahe hai...

B : "Par yaha to shaam ke 5.30 baj rahe hai na daddy aur mamma ke aane se pehle kara do na baad mein to aapko phone bhi nehi kar paaungi.

M : (almost in a pleading tone) "Beta yaha aadhi raat ho rahi hai aur daddy ko subhe office bhi to jaana hai na.

B : (made a sad voice) "Daddy aap mujhe daat rahe ho? Aap mere sums solve nehi kara ke doge? Aap bhi mamma ki tarah karoge? Aapko achcha lagega agar main ande leke aaungi to? Pata hai mamma hamesha mere marks ko lekar mujhpar chillati rehti hai.

Maahir felt very sad thinking when Bela doesn't have time for her, if he too does the same thing to her, it will not be good for her, so he decided to help her out.

M : "Na beta daddy aapko kabhi daat sakte hai kya? Daddy to aapse sabse zyaada pyar karte hai. Abhi Bulbul ne kaha hai to daddy to unki help zarur karenge. Ok to aap apni copy nikaalo, main help karta hu.

Maahir at first splashed some water on his face in the washroom and then he himself took out some sheets of papers and then started solving Bulbul's sums and simultaneously explaining them to her. In Kingston's office, at around 9.30 am when Kuhu came to Maahir's cabin, she remained open mouthed due to the scene which unfolded in front of her. The man whom she knew for not wasting a single minute just the moment, he entered the office, that day, was sleeping almost snoring in his sleep, by putting his head on the table. Kuhu cleared her throat to wake him up but Maahir was sleeping in such a way as if he had turned into a full fledged dead body and at last Kuhu had to shook him to wake him up and he raised his head up a bit and without even opening his eyes, blabbered,Ha isko add karne se total aa jaayega... Kuhu was confused a bit on hearing Maahir's words and so she slapped him lightly on his face 2-3 times to bring him out of the dizziness of his sleep. Maahir now opened his eyes and looked upwards and found Kuhu standing in front of him and she said,O Sleeping beauty abhi good morning bhi kar lo!! Maahir gave a baby smile to Kuhu and said,Good Morning!! Just then Rohit entered their cabin with a file on his hand and was about to say something but on seeing Maahir in that condition with Kuhu standing beside him, he chuckled and asked,Kya baat hai bhaai soya nehi kya kal raat ko? Kuhu replied,Dekho na Rohit, cabin mein aake dekha janaab ghore bech kar so rahe hai. Abhi to ye agar nehi uthta to main paani maar kar uthaane waali thi. She took out a tiffin box from her bag and said,Main tumhaare liye aaj paraathe bana kar laayi thi... On hearing about that, Maahir snatched the box from her hand and Kuhu completed her last sentence,Paneer ke... tumhaare favourate... with surprise and amazement in her eyes. Maahir opened the box and smelled the content inside and then held Kuhu's hand and kissed it and said,I love you Kuhu!! Ek tumhi ho jo mujhe sabse achche se jaanta ho. He ordered a cup of coffee over phone and started eating the food in such a way as if he had not eaten for days and while doing that his eyes fall on Kuhu and Rohit who were staring at him with a mocking smile in their eyes and he asked,Kya hua aise ghur kyu rahe ho, khaate huye aadmi ko kabhi dekha nehi hai kya? Rohit replied,Nehi khaate huye aadmi ko dekha hai lekin is tarah se khaate huye aamtaur par dekhne ko nehi milte hai na. Aisa lag raha hai kitne hafto se nehi khaaya hai. Maahir continued eating without paying heed that he was being stared and replied,Bhukh lagi thi yaar subhe khaana banaane tak ka time nehi mila, kha kar kya aata. Kuhu asked,Aisa kaunsa mahaan kaam kar rahe the? Maahir swallowed the food and then replied,Sums solve karwa raha tha Bulbul ke, aaj uska test hai na. Bichaari raat ke 3 baje phone kiya mujhko aur boli daddy mere sums solve karwa do varna ande lekar aaungi. Ab batao, Maahir Sehgal jisko aajtak maths mein hamesha full marks aaye hai, uski ek lauti beti maths mein ande lekar aayegi, kaisa lagega yaar? To bas kab subhe ke 5 baj gaye pata hi nehi chala upar se maharaniji ka bhi to office se aane ka time ho raha tha. Ab batao kaisi ma hai, bachchi tak ke liye time nehi hai uske paas. Hadh hoti hai yaar har cheez ki!! Vo to tum logo ne rok kar rakkha hai, varna main kabka le aata apni bachchi ko apne paas. Beti ko agar sambhaal nehi sakte ho to rakhte kyu ho apne paas? Uska baap abhi bhi zinda hai, agar paalna nehi aata to mujhe de dete main raazi khushi rakh leta apne paas aur is tarah se baap ke hote huye bin baap ke to nehi rehna parta usko. Bichaari meri bachchi!! Rohit was amused to hear the reason and so he asked,Tum raat ko 3 baje beth kar Bulbul ko para rahe the? Kuhu added, "No dude seriously uswaqt to har koi laash ban jaata hai apni neend mein aur tum apni beti ko para rahe the. That's really very sweet of you Maahir!! Mujhe nehi pata tha tumhaare is new found talent ke baare mein. By that time, coffee was arrived and Maahir gave a sip to his cup and hit on his head so that he didn't fall asleep again and said,Ha ha uraalo mazaak mera, jisdin main mama banunga na usdin main bhi bilkul aise hi kahunga. He finished eating the food and then suddenly with a sad smile said,Uske liye raat bhar jaagne ka, usey chup karaane ka, uske diapers change karne ka mauka to Bela ne mujhe diya hi nehi, chalo isi bahaane hi sahi mujhe sab kuch karne ka mauka to mil raha hai. Rohit and Kuhu exchanged their looks embarrassingly while Maahir in order to light up the situation got up, tucked his suit and said,Bulbul ko dekhna full marks aayenge, bari smart beti hai meri, ek baar samjhaaya fataak se samajh gayi, after all apne baap par gayi hai. Abhi chalo meeting ke liye nehi jaana, 10 baj chuke hai. Kuhu and Rohit accompanied Maahir outside as he walked towards the meeting room. On the way, Rohit muttered to Kuhu,Tumne ek baat notice ki hai baby, do din nehi huye usko Bulbul se baat kiye huye and I could easily see the change in him. Abhi vo khush rehne laga hai to zara socho Bulbul agar uske paas hoti to uski to life hi badal jaati usko to Bela ke vajah se dukhi hone ka time hi nehi milta. Kuhu agreed and replied,Ya you're right and you know what main seriously nehi chahti hu ke Maahir aur Anu ki shaadi ho. Maahir is janam mein to kamsekam naahi Bela ko bhul paayega aur naahi uski jagah kisiko de paayega to aisi shaadi ka kya matlab hai? Main to chahti hu ke Bulbul na iski zindagi mein aaye taaki shaayad Bela aur Maahir phir se ek dusre ki zindagi mein aa sakey aur agar na bhi aana chahe tab bhi at least dono ke life mein ek closure to aaye. Rohit replied,No yaar agar 8 saal baad bhagwaan ne Bulbul ko Maahir ke zindagi mein bheja hai na I'm sure uske zariye vo Maahir aur Bela ko ek zarur karenge. I believe in destiny. Kuhu shook his shoulder and said,I don't know main bas itna chahti hu ke Maahir aur Bela dono khush rahe. Rohit agreed and Kuhu opened the door to the meeting room and they both took their respective seats on both sides of Maahir.

At night, Bela was working on her laptop in her bedroom, when Bulbul knocked at her door and before Bela could say something, Bulbul entered her room and seeing that Bela said,Jab andar aane ke liye permission tumko chahiye nehi hoti hai to knock karne ki kya zarurat hai? Aise hi andar aa jaaya karo. Bulbul, in turn asked,Jab aap itna hi personal kaam kar rahi ho to door andar se lock kyu nehi karti ho? Bela nodded her head and said,Forget it!! Tumse to baat karna hi dimaag kid ahi karne jaisa hai. Bulbul said,Ha to vaisi baat aap karti kyu ho? Vaise mamma mujhe aapse ek important baat karni hai. Bela again concentrated on her laptop and without shifting her eyes from it replied,Agar Delhi jaane ka rona lekar aayi ho to that's not gonna happen. You're not going to India aur phir vahaka climate yaha se bohot alag hai beta bimaar par jaaogi. Bulbul asked,Kyu bimaar parungi? Main to bohot saare jagah aapke saath ja chuki hu? Bela replied,Bulbul...Baba India ka climate aur jin jagaho par tum gayi ho unka climate bohot alag hai aur aajtak maine tumhe kahi bhi akele jaane diya hai? Main India nehi ja sakti hu isiliye main tumko bhi jaane nehi de sakti hu. Bubul was in no mood to argue with her mother on that topic and so she nodded her head and replied,Achcha thik hai vaise bhi vo baat karne main aayi hi nehi hu. Vo to main vaise bhi India jaaungi hi usme koi problem nehi hai. Bela smirked and asked,Are you challenging your mother sweetheart? Bulbul, with full of confidence on her face replied,No mamma!! Jis challenge mein jeet confirm ho vaise bekaar ke challenge main karti bhi nehi hu, mazaa nehi aata hai na. Main to aapse dusri baat karne aayi thi. Aap pehle meri baat to sun lo. Suddenly Bela remembered something and closed her laptop and said,Aaj maths test tha na tumhaara? Kya hua? Phir se ande ubaal kar laayi ho? Main hamesha se kehti hu na Bulbul tutions le lo, main tumko waqt nehi de paati aur...Mammmaaa!! Bulbul screamed aloud and then opened her copy in front of Bela's face and said,Ande nehi laayi hu mamma, dekho full marks aaye hai. Tabse main yehi to aapko bataane ki koshish kar rahi hu aur aap hai ke kaha kaha ki baat lekar aa gayi. Aap itna bolti kyu ho? Uff!! Dimaag kharaab karke rakh diya mera. Bela made a face to Bulbul but did not believe Bulbul as she was quite weak in maths and always gets less marks in it in comparison to other subjects and so Bela snatched Bulbul's copy and checked it properly. Bulbul said,Ha ha dekho dekho ekdam chashma laga kar dekho. Bela, in an astonished tone asked,Ye miracle kaise hua? Bulbul very happily and casually replied,Daddy ne paraaya hai na isliye. Bela asked,Kya? Bubul looked at her with a jerk as she understood what she had just blurted out and she said,Uh...vo naani ne mujhe bataya hai ke mere daddy maths mein bohot achche the aur main to apne daddy ki beti hu isiliye. Bela looked at her from over her spects and said,Aaj se pehle to kabhi daddy ki beti nehi bani to phir aaj achaanak se kaise ban gayi? Bulbul replied,Hamesha se hi thi main vo to aap itna harkaakar rakhti ho na isiliye... Bela put Bulbul's copy on the bed and said,Pata hai beta ye jo mamma hote hai na unke paas ek bohot strong sa weapon hota hai jiska naam 6^th sense hai. Pata nehi kyu mujhe kuch dino se lag raha hai ke ye meri gudiya raani jo hai, mujhse kuch chupa rahi hai. Pata nehi mujhe aisa kyu lag raha hai ke tum koi khichdi paka rahi ho aur isme naani bhi tumhaare saath shaamil hai. Bulbul never imagined even in her dreams that Bela would smell what Bulbul was cooking and she could easily feel the loud beating of her heart, but she made a very brave face and angrily replied,Mera koi pet kharaab hua hai jo main khichdi banau? Aur aapki to mujhe problem hi samajhme nehi aati hai. Pehle jab main sach mein ande laati thi tab bhi aapko problem thi aaj full marks laayi hu tab bhi aapko problem hai. Mujhe aapke paas aana hi nehi chahiye tha. Saying she took her copy and was about to leave when Bela stopped her and hugged her from back and said,Ok ok ok I'm so sorry!! Main to bohot khush hu ke meri baby ko full marks aaye hai and you really deserve a gift. Batao kya chahiye? Bulbul asked,Main jo maangungi aap dengi? Bela replied,India jaane ke alava kuch bhi ho milega. Bulbul broke the hug and replied,Mujhe paneer ke paraathe khaane hai.Bela replied,Bas?? Thik hai jaao jaakar boldo vo bana denge. Bulbul replied,Agar yehi karna hota to main aapke paas kyu aati? Mujhe aapke haatho ke bane paraathe khaane hai. Maine naani se suna hai aap bohot achche paneer ke paraathe banaati ho, to mujhe bana kar khilaao. Bela put aside her laptop and and said,Beta vo arsa pehle banaya karti thi, jab India mein rehti thi tab aur yaha aane ke baad kabhi banaya hi nehi. Main to bhul bhi gayi hu aur vaise bhi...ye...ye tumhaare daddy ke favourate hai isliye...main nehi banaungi. Main tumhaare daddy ko yaad hi nehi karna chahti hu. Bulbul found it to be an opportunity to learn more about her father and so she literally emotionally blackmailed her mother and said,Matlab daddy aapke liye mujhse zyaada zaruri ho gaye? Aapko daddy yaad aayenge isliye aap mujhe paraathe bana kar nehi khilaaogi? Ye bohot galat baat hai mamma, iska matlab aap daddy ko mujhse zyaada pyar karte ho. Bulbul held her mother's hand and pouted to plead,Please mamma!! Agar aap nehi banaaogi to main dinner nehi karungi. Bela chuckled and pulled Bulbul's nose and replied,Mujhe emotional blackmail karna bohot achchi tarah se aata hai na tumhe? But you know mujhe koi problem nehi hai because it reminds me that main yehi shakal bana kar tumhaare aur mere dono ke papa ko bohot blackmail kiya hai and they always had to comply by my rules. Is baat par tum bilkul mujhpar gayi ho aur isi khushi mein main paraathe bana kar zarur khilaaungi lekin agar ganda bana to mujhe kuch mat kehna. Bulbul agreed and Bela went to the kitchen to prepare the desired thing for Bulbul but the problem was that she actually forgot the preparation of the paratha and she thought about what to do. Suddenly a memory flashed in her mind.

[Flashback]

Bela was standing inside the kitchen and looking at everything that was placed there and she was looking at them so horrified as if those were not cooking items but nuclear bombs. She almost screamed,Maaahiiir!!! Maaahiiir!! When Maahir didn't reply back, Bela angrily screamed at him,Mr. Sehgal!! Kaha mar gaye ho? Maahir almost came running to her hearing her scream and asked,Kya hua? Kya hua Mrs. Sehgal? Itni zor se kyu chillayi? Bela replied,Itni der se bula rahi hu tumko, kaha the? Kisi aur larki se baat kar rahe the? Main keh rahi hu tumko Mr. Husband, agar kisi aur larki ke saath tumne baat to kya kisi aur ko aakh utha kar dekhne ki bhi koshish ki na to yaad rakhna. Maine dekha hai colony ki saari larkiya tumpar line maarti hai. Tum sirf mere private property ho aur isme trespassing main bilkul bhi bardaasht nehi karungi. Maahir gave a smile to her and then got cozy with her. He wrapped his arms around Bela's waist and said,Kya baat hai aaj apne pati par bara pyar aa raha hai? Arey colony choro is duniya ki saari larkiya tumhaare saamne kuch bhi nehi hai. Agar bande ki itni khubsurat biwi ho to uski nazar to aayine ke taraf apni shakal par bhi nehi jaayegi. Bela removed his arms and said,Tum kaunsi sadi hui pictures se aisi cheezi line lekar aate ho? Bohot puraani ho gayi hai. Maahir pulled Bela's cheeks and said,Its never late to love!! Achcha ye batao kyu bula rahi thi? Bela replied,Mujhe paneer ke paraathe banaane hai aur yaha kitchen mein itna saara samaan dekh kar mujhe na itni ghabraahat ho rahi hai. Khaana banaane ke liye itna samaan lagta hai? Mamma sahi kehti thi ke mujhe na khaana banana seekh lena chahiye tha kamsekam saare instruments ki jaankaari to ho jaati. Maahir laughed and said,Tumhe khaana banaane ki kya zarurat hai main hu na? Main paneer ke paraathe bana deta hu tumhaare liye. Bela nodded her head and replied,No!! Mujhe pata hai tumhe paneer ke paraathe bohot pasand hai isliye main tumhaare liye banana chahti hu. Vaise bhi hamesha to tum hi khaana banaate ho na aaj main bana lungi to kya ho jaayega? Ghar mein to mamma khaana banaati hai aksar aur mujhe dekho mujhe to kuch nehi aata. Jab kabhi tum bahaar jaate ho tab mujhe bahaar se khaana order karna parta hai. I feel so bad ke kaam to main bhi karti hu par tum to ghar aur bahaar dono ki responsibility lete ho aur dekho main kitni useless hu. Bela felt very sad and seeing that Maahir felt pity for her and said,Aww!! Aap useless nehi ho Mrs. Sehgal aap to mujhse pyar kartti ho na to jab aap itna important kaam karti ho to phir aap useless kaise hui? Maine to tumse pehle hi kaha tha shaadi ke baad saare kaam main kar lunga you just have to love me that's all. Vaise tumhe agar seekhna hai to main tumhe paneer ke paraathe banana seekha dunga. Achcha abhi main tumhe sab dheere dheere samjhaata hu. He showed her all the cutleries that are required for cooking and then showed all the spices and ingredients required and where everything are kept. As Bela was a fast learner, she quickly learnt everything and easily made the paratha for Maahir. After finishing cooking, Bela served him and asked,Kha kar dekho kaisa bana hai? Maahir tasted it and licked his finger and said,Bohot achchi bani hai. He kissed Bela's hand and then pulled her towards him and said,Pata hai tumhaari sabse achchi baat kya hai? Tum rich aur spoilt ho, tumhe kabhi kitchen mein kadam tak rakhne ki zarurat nehi pari par phir bhi tumne aaj mere liye mere favourate paraathe banaaye koi aur ameerzaadi hoti na to ye sab vo kabhi nehi karti. Bela made a fake angry face and replied,Koi aur kyu karegi?? Koi aur biwi thore hi hai tumhaari? Biwi to main hu to main hi karungi na. Maine tumhaare liye hi to ghar mein naukrani tak nehi rakkhi agar usne tumhe nazar lagaane ki koshish ki to? Dekho main tumhaare baare mein kitna sochti hu. Maahir agreed and tried to kiss her but she covered his mouth and replied,Paraathe kha kar abhi pet bharo, abhi kiss viss nehi milega. Maahir made a pout and tried kissing her but she ran away so that Maahir could not get hold of her.

[Flashback ends]

"Mamma!! Mamma!!, Bulbul shook Bela's arms which broke her chain of thoughts and brought her back to the present and she found that she was standing in her kitchen but the difference was that Maahir was not with him and instead of him, Bulbul was there. She found Bulbul staring at her and asked,Kya hua? Bulbul replied,Mujhe kya pata? Main to kabse aapko bula rahi hu par aap to kahi aur hi khoyi thi. Aap kya soch rahi thi? Bela started making the batter and said to Bulbul, "Pata hai jab beti bari ho jaati hai na to vo mamma ki best friend ban jaati hai aur ek dusre ke saath apne secrets share karti hai so main bhi tumko na abhi ek secret bataaungi aur tum ye kisiko nehi batana. Promise? Bulbul accepted and then Bela said to her,Pata hai paneer ke paraathe mujhe tumhaare daddy ne banana seekhaya tha, mujhe to roti tak gol banani nehi aati thi. Bulbul asked,Haww!! Ghar mein daddy khaana banaate the? Bichaare mere daddy!! Mamma vaise mujhe aap apni love story kyu nehi bataati ho? Mujhe janna tha na? Bela put her hand on her waist and replied,Bulbul 8 saal ki ho na vohi raho zyaada na apne umar se bara banne ki koi zarurat nehi hai. Bachcho ko aisi baate nehi jaanni chahiye. Bulbul made a face and replied,Abhi aapne kaha ke main aapki best friend hu aur abhi aap topic change kar rahi ho. Aapke jagah par mere daddy hote na to vo mujhe zarur bataate. Bela was confused and asked,Tumko kaise pata ke vo tumhe bataate? Bulbul immediately became cautious and replied,Uh...vo maine unki photo dekhi hai na...Dikhne mein hi kitne cute se hai, mujhe to lagta hai unko to jhagra bhi karna nehi aata hoga. Aap dono ki jab fight hoti thi Iam sure aap hi winner rahi hongi. Bela gave a mocking smile and replied,Mere saath fight karne ke liye bhi talent chahiye. Tumhaare daddy ko gussa to aata tha agar main kisi dusre larke se baat karti thi, tab vo itni cute tareeke se pout karte the na ke kya batau... I used to fall more and more in love with him. Bulbul had a smile on her face when she heard that Bela still loved Maahir and Bela at her last statement suddenly became conscious and then scolded Bulbul,Bohot badmaashi karne lagi ho aajkal Bulbul mujhe sab samajhme aa raha hai. Bulbul made a face and replied,Bol to aap hi rahi ho maine aapse kuch pucha thore hi tha. Bela made a face to Bulbul and while grating the paneer and mixing it with the batter said,Tumse to baat karna hi bekaar hai Bulbul. After some more time, she cooked the first paratha after 8 years and then served the same to Bulbul and replied,Abhi taste karke batao kaisa hua? Bulbul was about to touch that but Bela then realized that it was too hot and so she at first tore a piece and then blowed to make it cool and then fed the same to Bulbul and Bulbul praised that a lot and said,Kisne kaha aapko nehi aata? Aapne to kitna tasty banaya hai. Bulbul took her plate and then came to the dining hall and sat on her chair to have her food. After some time, Bela returned with another paratha in a plate and then put it in front of Bulbul and that that would be the last one she would get. After that she asked the servants to call everyone for dinner and when they came out Madhu saw the paraathe and asked Bulbul,Puttar teri ma tujhe paraathe khaane de rahi hai raat ko? Ye kamaal kaise ho gaya? Bela replied,Aaj Bulbul ko maths mein full marks aaye hai so isi khushi mein paneer ke paraatho ki demand ki to maine bana diye. Ranjit was shocked on hearing that and asked,Itne saare servants ke rehte huye, tumne khaana banaya beta? Bela replied,Ek din banaane mein kya ho jaata hai papa? Bulbul ki demand thi isiliye aur Delhi mein main khaana banaati to thi. Ranjit started having his food and replied,Tab ki baat aur thi aur bachcho ki har maang puri karna koi zaruri baat to hai nehi. Bela looked at Bulbul and found that she was gradually getting angry and she felt very sad thinking that her father was speaking all those things for her daughter. Bela, in a disturbed tone said,Kyu papa usdin jab aapne Reyhaan ko breakfast par invite kiya tha to vo raayta aapne mujhse banwaaya tha aur Reyhaan to vaise hamaara kuch lagta bhi nehi hai aur ye to phir meri beti hai aapko problem kya ho rahi hai? Meri bachchi mujhse aakar zidd karti hai aur karegi kyu nehi ye uska haq hai. Vo jo kuch bhi maang rahi hai apni ma se maang rahi hai aur papa aapne meri aajtak aisi koi zidd hai jo puri nehi ki? Jo aapne mere liye kiya hai main bhi vo Bulbul ke liye karne ki koshish kar rahi hu. She then looked at Bulbul and found her not eating her food and so she said,Bulbul beta tumne kyu khaana bandh kiya? Mamma ne itni mehnat se tumhaare liye banaya hai na to tum jaldi pura finish karo aur phir sone jaao, kal school bhi hai. Bulbul, in her mind, said to herself,Ekdin is mamma ke papa ko na aisa lesson dungi ke zindagi bhar yaad rakkhenge. She then resumed her eating and made a face to Ranjit.

It was 9am in the morning, when Anu entered Kingston's office immediately after her flight landed at Delhi as she went abroad to attend her cousin's wedding. She was so eager to meet Maahir not because of her love but because of her obsessive insecurity towards him as she thought someone might snatch him away from her. When she went to Maahir's cabin she didn't find him there and on enquiring, his secretary informed Anu that he went for a meeting and so she decided to wait in his cabin till he returned. Anu was busy reading magazines, when suddenly she heard the sound of a phone ringing and when she checked for the sound of the ring, she found that Maahir had forgotten his phone in his cabin. She took the phone and found that the number was saved against the name BULBUL'. Anu had an informer in the office whom she appointed to keep an eye on Maahir's activities and so she knew about the Bulbul fiasco but the one thing that she didn't know was that Bulbul being Maahir and Bela's daughter. So, she decided to teach Bulbul a lesson and picked up her call.

A : "Hullo!!

On hearing a stranger's voice on her father's phone, Bulbul was confused

B : "Kaun bol rahi ho?

A : "Tum kaun bol rahi ho?

B : "Main daddy ki beti bol rahi hu.

A : "Kiske daddy ki beti?

B : "Dimaag se dhakkan ho kya? Main apne daddy ki hi beti hu.

A : "Sab apne daddy ki hi betiya hoti hai.

B : "Main sabke nehi apne personal waale daddy ki beti hu aur mera naam Bulbul hai.

A : "Oho!! To tum hi ho vo jisne Maahir se baat karne ke liye purey office ko ek taang par khara kar ke rakkha hua tha. I know everything about you.

B : "Very good!! Tab to tumhe ye bhi pata hoga ke ye mere aur daddy ke baat karne ka time hai aur kisi dusre ka phone uthaana bad manners hai.

A : "Really?? To ab mujhe tumse manners ke baare mein seekhna parega? Jo larki aise hi kisiko bhi apna daddy banaale you know manners usko seekhna chahiye jo tumhaare parents ne tumhe bilkul bhi nehi seekhaya hai.

B : "Tumhaare saath mujhe manners dikhaani bhi nehi hai abhi chupchap na mere daddy ko phone do.

A : "Listen Miss whoever you are tumne mere Maahir ko bara pareshaan kuya hai mujhe pata hai. Par mera Maahir na bohot shareef hai isliye shaayad usne tumhe daata bhi nehi hoga aisi badtameezi ke liye.

B : "Mere daddy sirf mere hai aur meri mamma ke hai aur kisike nehi.

A : "Oho my poor baby!! Tum jis Maahir ki baat kar rahi ho vo mera hone waala husband hai aur bohot jald hamaari engagement hone waali hai aur phir shaadi bhi ho jaayegi so please jis kisine bhi tumhe yaha phone karne ke liye seekhaya paraaya hai na usko jaakar kehdena ke Maahir sirf aur sirf mera hai aur uspar mere alav kisi aur ka koi haq nehi hai. So please!! Yaha phone karna bandh kardo.

Bulbul was shocked on hearing about Maahir's impending marriage with someone else.

B : "Aisa kaise ho sakta hai? Mere daddy ki shaadi to ho chuki hai meri mamma ke saath.

A : "Oh please shut up and don't call again.

Just at that moment, Maahir came inside his cabin and was shocked to find Anu there especially with his phone. He said,Hi Anu!! Tum kab aayi? Anu covered the speaker of the phone and replied,Abhi aayi baby!! Ek minute ruko zara pehle iske hosh to thikaane laga du. Maahir was confused and asked,Kisse baat kar rahi ho? Anu replied,That girl Bulbul called, wait a sec!! On hearing Bulbul's name, Maahir was absolutely shocked as what he was always scared of, was happening right before his eyes. He immediately snatched the phone from her hand and moved a bit away from her.

M : "Hullo Bulbul!!

By that time, Bulbul was in tears out of extreme anger.

B : "Daddy kya aap phir se shaadi karne waale ho?

M : "Beta ye bohot complicated hai main aapko samjha nehi paaunga.

B : "Nothing is complicated daddy, ya to ha hai ya phir na. Yes or no!!

M : "No... I mean...yes!!

B : "Main samajhti thi aap aise nehi ho lekin aap bhi bilkul mamma jaise hi ho. Sab khud ko lekar bethe hai, meri to kisiko fikar hi nehi hai. Main to aap dono ke liye exist hi nehi karti hu. Main aaj ke baad aapse kabhi bhi baat nehi karungi. I hate you daddy!!

M : "Beta meri baat suno aap...Bulbul...please!!

Saying Bulbul disconnected the phone and Maahir closed his eyes out of helplessness. He was so mad at himself for not telling Bulbul about Anu though Kuhu had previously warned about that. He was so upset that he blurted out his anger on Anu. He put the phone on the table and angrily asked Anu,Tumne mera phone kyu uthaya Anu? Anu replied,Mujhe Bulbul ke baare mein sab kuch pata hai ke kaise ye larki tumhe kar roz pareshaan karti hai aur kis tarah se usne tumse baat karne ke liye pura office apne sar par utha kar rakkha hua tha. Maahir was curious and asked,Tumhe kaise pata maine to tumse kabhi kuch nehi kaha aur Kuhu aur Rohit to kabhi kahenge nehi? Anu wrapped her arms around Maahir's shoulder and replied,Because I care about you and you are about to be my husband so apne hone waale husband par nazar to rakhni hi parti hai. Maahir unwrapped himself and replied,Uske baavajud bhi mera phone uthaane ka tumhe koi haq nehi tha because you know I love my privacy aur by the way jab tumhe tumhaare informer ne itna sab kuch bata diya hai Bulbul ke baare mein to ye bhi to tumhe pata hoga ke vo hai kaun. Anu gave a confused look to Maahir from which he understood that she don't know anything else. Maahir took a deep breath and said,Main tumhe sab kuch bataana chahta tha par main tumhaare waapas aane ka intezaar kar raha tha. Jaise ke tum jaanti ho ke hamaari shaadi hone waali hai to main tumse aaj kuch chupaaunga nehi because you deserve to know. Anu became tensed and asked,Aakhir baat kya hai Maahir? Maahir replied,Tumhaare apni cousin ki wedding mein jaane ke baad meri life mein bohot kuch badal gaya hai. Ye jo ek larki ne phone kiya tha mujhe jiska phone tumne uthaya tha vo larki... He took a deep breath and replied,Meri beti hai...Meri aur Bela ki 8 saal ki beti Bulbul Maahir Sehgal. Anu was shocked on hearing that and yelled,What??? Maahir nodded his head and replied,Ha ye larki meri beti hai aur mera paas iska saboot bhi hai vo photographs jo usne mujhe bheje the. Anu, in a hysterical manner, said,Par Maahir photographs to morph bhi kiye ja sakte hai na aur waha jaakar bhi to Bela ka koi... Maahir replied,No... Mujhe Bulbul ka date of birth pata hai aur uska janam Bela ke yaha se jaane ke 7 mahine baad hua hai jiska matlab ye hai ke Bela India chorne se pehle 2 mahine pregnant thi so very naturally Bulbul meri hi beti hai. Mujhe khud ko Bulbul ke baare mein kuch bhi nehi pata tha kyuki Bela ne mujhe apni pregnancy ke baare mein kabhi bhi kuch bhi nehi bataya tha aur Bulbul ne 8 saal baad mujhe dhundh kar nikaala hai aur usine mujhe contact kiya tha. Pehle mujhe bhi yakeen nehi hua tha but now I know everytning. Usko bhi tumhaare baare mein kuch pata nehi tha and now that she knows, mujhe nehi pata hai ke vo mujhse dubaara baat karegi bhi ya nehi. Anu looked at Maahir in disbelief and asked,Tumhe abhi bhi uski pari hai meri nehi? Tum samajh bhi pa rahe ho ke tumhaare life ke itne bare sach ke vajah se meri life mein kitna bara toofaan aaya hai? Maahir replied,Main jaanta hu aur samajh bhi raha hu kyuki main khud is daud se guzar chuka hu lekin is vajah se main tumhe andhere mein nehi rakh sakta tha aur zyaada ghuma phira kar baat karne ki mujhe aadat bhi nehi hai so... aur ek important baat ye hai ke filhaal meri life ki prime priority meri bachchi hai aur uske liye main kuch bhi kar sakta hu kyuki main usse bohot pyar karta hu aur maine decide bhi kiya hai ke main puri koshish karunga ke vo hamesha ke liye mere paas aa sakey. Anu was standing still and drops of tears fall from her eyes and when Maahir moved a step forward to pacify Anu she stopped him and slowly walked outside of his cabin in a trance. Maahir at last gave a sigh of relief thinking that at last he was able to tell everything to Anu about Bulbul as it removed a weight from his conscience but at the same time was worried thinking what would be Bulbul's reaction.

Next day, in the morning, Bulbul woke up all by herself and got ready for school and when Madhu came to her room to wake her up, she found Bulbul was packing her school bag. Madhu was surprised seeing Bulbul getting ready all by herself and asked,Kya baat hai aaj tu khud se ready ho gayi? Bulbul didn't reply and continued doing her work. After finishing packing she picked that up on her shoulder and looked at Madhu and said,Naani mujhe school ke liye late ho raha hai, mujhe breakfast dedo, mujhe bhukh lagi hai. Saying, Bulbul did not waste any single minute and went out of her bedroom leaving Madhu all confused at her behaviour and she said to herself,Aaj khud se uth kar tayyar bhi ho gayi, sab kuch khud hi kar liya. Ho kya gaya isko? Madhu stopped thinking about it and came downstairs following Bulbul. In the dining table, Bulbul put her bag on an adjacent chair and sat on her own seat and then she was served cornflakes with milk. Bela, while applying butter on her bread, said, Bulbul chupchap kha lena koi naatak-" She was about to give a bite on her toast when her eyes fall on Bulbul and she stopped midway on seeing that Bulbul, without making any noise and drama for not wanting to have the cornflakes, just picked up her bowl and swallowed the whole cornflakes as if she was drinking water which made both Madhu and Bela open mouthed and they were surprised even more as Bulbul didn't utter a single word. After finishing her bowl, Bulbul put it on the table and was about to pick her bag when she saw Reyhaan coming to their house. Bulbul was already extremely angry on Maahir after she came to know about his remarriage plans but she was quiet till now burning from inside but the moment she saw Reyhaan coming, her anger crossed all the boundaries. Reyhaan wished everyone and Ranjit was very happy on seeing him and said,Welcome Reyhaan!! Please have a seat!! Reyhaan was about to take his seat beside Bela, but Bulbul out of rage threw her empty bowl and spoon on the floor breaking the bowl and startling everyone. She said to Reyhaan,No you are not at all welcome!! Jab dekho tab muh utha kar chale aate ho aur aa bhi jaate ho to meri mamma ke bagal mein bethne ki kya zarurat hai? Aapko pata hai na in fact maine aapko ye baat directly bhi batayi thi ke mujhe aap bilkul bhi achche nehi lagte ho phir bhi aa jaate ho kyu aapko ghar mein khaana nehi milta hai? Seeing Bulbul's arrogant behaviour, Bela was surprised as she knew Bulbul was extremely blunt by her mouth and she would never think twice to voice out her dislikings but that day she herself was not able to recognize her own daughter. Bela asked,Bulbul ye kis tarah se baat kar rahi ho tum? Bulbul replied,Main jo bhi bol rahi hu bilkul sahi bol rahi hu aur mamma aap bhi har roz inke saath kyu jaati ho office? Aapke paas to aapki car hai na? Mujhe bilkul bhi achcha nehi lagta hai ye sab. Aap hi mujhe kehti ho na ke kisi bhi strangers ke saath baat mat karna phir aap kaise ek stranger ke saath itni baat kar sakti ho aur car mein bhi uth kar chali jaati ho? Main sach bol rahi hu agar aapne inke saath shaadi karne ke baare mein socha bhi na to main ghar se bhaag jaaungi aur phir aap mujhe kabhi bhi dhundh nehi paaogi. On hearing that Bela screamed,Bulbul!! Jo muh mein aa raha hai tabse bake ja rahi ho. Ranjit angrily looked at Bulbul and asked,Bulbul ye kya badtameezi hai? Bulbul got up from her seat and replied to Ranjit,Jab aap aur mamma baat karte ho to main to kabhi bhi beech mein nehi bolti hu phir abhi jab main apni mamma ke saath baat kar rahi hu to aap beech mein kyu bol rahe ho? Main jaanti hu aap jo Reyhaan uncle ko har roz mamma ke peeche laga kar rakhte ho na gum ki tarah vo isiliye taaki vo mamma ko pataa sakey par main ye sab kuch nehi hone dungi. On hearing her words, everyone were totally dumbstruck. Madhu, on the other hand muttered to herself,Shaabbash!! Aaj pehli baar apni ma aur uske baap ko chup hi kara diya lekin ek baat samajhme nehi aa rahi hai ke aaj achaanak se ye jwaalamukhi phoota kyu? Bela was about to say her something, but Madhu gave her a signal not to say Bulbul anything at that moment. Bulbul took her bag and walked out of the house and Ranjit apologized to Reyhaan for Bulbul's behaviour and Bela too felt sorry for him. When Bulbul was going to get into her car, she found that Reyhaan and Bela walked together towards his car and Reyhaan opened the door of the car for Bela and suddenly a stone came flying towards Reyhaan's car and broke the glass of the back door of his car which made Bela scream out of fear. When Bela looked on the other side, she found Bulbul glaring at them angrily and Madhu quickly came to Bulbul and asked,Bulbul ye kya kar rahi hai tu? Agar mamma ko lag jaati to? Bulbul replied,Main itni bhi bewakuf nehi hu naani aur kya mamma ko ek baat ek hi baar mein samajhme nehi aati hai ke mujhe inka Reyhaan uncle ke saath office jaana pasand nehi hai. Ye apni car mein kyu nehi jaati hai? Madhu understood that Bulbul, that day was in a total termination mood and if she tries to go into any kind of reasoning with her, the results will be even more drastic and so she went to Bela rather and said,Bela beta tu dusri car lekar chali jaa, please!! Bela replied,But mamma aap dekh rahi hai kaise... Madhu held her hand and said,Main sab dekh rahi hu puttar. Par tu to jaanti hai vo kaisi hai, usko gussa aata hai to daay baay kuch bhi nehi dekhti hai par tu to bari hai, ma hai uski tu to samajhle. Mujhe lagta hai ke kuch hua hai, kisi aur baat par gussa hai aur phoot tum logo par raha hai. Subhe se hi ajeeb harkate kar rahi hai aur dekha nehi tere papa tak ko chup kara diya. Tu abhi chali ja apni car lekar varna pata nehi ye larki aur kya karegi, jab school se ye waapas aayegi na to main usse baat karungi. Abhi tu ja!! Bela gave one last disturbed look to Bulbul who was still angrily staring at her and then took her own car and went to the office. After that Madhu said to Bulbul,Dekh puttar teri ma chali gayi na apni car lekar abhi to thand rakhle aur chal school varna late ho jaayegi. Subhe subhe aisa siyappa kar diya tune to. On hearing that, Bulbul yelled at Madhu,Siyappa na aapki beti ne aur aapke son in law ne meri life mein kiya hua hai. Jhagra ye log karte hai aur...Mujhe kuch bhi achcha nehi lagta hai. Sab selfish hai, sab apni life mein busy hai, meri kisiko parwaah hi nehi hai. Saying she got inside her car and the driver drove her off to school. Madhu said,Samajh gayi main...Zarur Maahir ke saath koi problem hui hai, varna raat tak to thik thi aur subhe subhe aise jhannayi hui hai. Is ladki ka na gussa naak par chara rehta hai. Lagta hai mujhe hi ab Maahir se baat karni paregi. She took a deep breath and nodded her head disappointedly.

I really hope Anu doesn't cause any drama after knowing the truth (okay now who am I kidding we all know she will ) and I pray to God that Bulbul's discovery on Mahir's second marriage doesn't ruin her relationship with her father. Oh God I hope Madhu puts some sense to all their(Mahir, Bela and Bulbul) brains because she is our last hope.

You are right .Anyway looking forward to see Bulbul flying down to India that would be AMAZEBALLZ!
