Sorry if I came across as a Anwesha hater. I really do like her singing and think she has great potential.

However, this is NOT a Anwesha appreciation thread that I'm posting this in. This is a thread "How good will Anwesha be in the future". I want people to step back and realize that, especially fans of her. This is NOT a thread where we all come in and show appreciation for Anwesha.

So as far as the thread topic goes...as I said earlier, I think she will be a Top 5 female playback singer eventually. Do I think she will pass Shreya Ghosal? No. I think she will always be considered the poorer version of Shreya. That doesn't mean she won't be really good. And to support my opinion of the future, I point out that singers like Shreya and Sunidhi were also very good at 16 (better), so it's not like we haven't seen anything like this at such an age.

Just staying on topic...I just don't appreciate the comments that she is already on par with Shreya Ghosal. That's just laughable. And even Anwesha would laugh at that. And no big MD said that she is that good. She can eventually be a Top 5 female playback singer, but that doesn't mean she is already. There at least 5 playback singers better than today (female).

lol himesh bhai 😆

anyways i think u r right to some extent , sunidhi and shreya are super talented and have reached a level

anwesha is also super talented but yet to reach the level , thats the only difference - and that might be a big difference cos many good singers in past have lost their way - hopefully she will not

Actually, someone said she was on par with Shreya period. Not just age 16. I know you said age 16.
It's not crazy to think she was on par with Shreya at age 16. I wasn't talking about that statement.

But check page 2 for a comment like
Yes,she is already on par with Shreya
That's what I was talking about being absurd.

As far as ruling the bollywood goes....not as long as Shreya and Sunidhi are still singing (which will be for a while)

ssk, many of the people you are talking to over here have been following Anwesha earnestly since CU, and watching every video that is posted on her in youtube. A statement like this only reflects a sentiment of an ardent fan. There is no need to read so much into it, especially since the person who made this statement is not even participating in this discussion. Each person is just stating his/her opinion. No-one here is an astrologer, so no-one can predict what will happen in the future. Like roobaroo rightly said, many talented singers have got lost in the crowd and could never reach the peak of success.

A lot depends on fate. Shreya and Sunidhi came at a time when Lataji and Ashaji's careers were just sunsetting. They had to compete mainly only with Alka Yagnik. Bollywood was looking for fresh young voices and they both fit the bill perfectly. So yes, Anwesha has a much bigger challenge ahead of her as it would be extremely difficult for her to compete with them, especially since her voice and style of singing is similar to Shreya's. But I don't think that she has any less potential than them. If Anwesha was born earlier and came into the industry at the time Shreya did, it would have been more advantageous to her. And if Shreya was younger and came at a time that Anwesha did, she would have faced bigger challenges. So ultimately it is all a game of luck, fate and chances even if there is talent.

ok so i need to giv explaination for the 100 singers thing lol. i really thot , here in MKMM forum ppl r matured enuf to undrstand dt .. lolz
there r 100s of singers around in india , in different province in different places who cudnt get the exposure , proper limelight , support , money , n luck to reach gr8 heights.. many of singers who r studying in state music academy in my kolkata who r better snger dn the established ones.. wen i said abt shreya n sunidhi , i also included anwesha . there cn b some1 who is much more talented dn anwesha jo chhupa hai desh ke kisi kone mein, learning music , cant even dare to take music as profession becoz they dnt hv the money or support from parents .. the ones who reach the top r always the lucky ones. from shreya to sunidhi to todays relaity show singers , yes they r lucky to get noticed.. and yaa even many regional singers r there who r better dn the established ones, i cn name one rite now ,.
well my explaination ws nt for insane immature ppl around, i wantd to clear it to othrs who actually undrstud wat i meant by 100 figure. i feel 100 is less number, there cn b thousands , i kno a rickshaw puller , who sings brilliantly , and ya if he cud get scope and cud learn music who knows he might hav been better singer dn the bolly established ones.. !
waise wat i said , is just the repeat of wat himesh reshamiya said in the first episode wen anwesha sang " yeh dil sun raha hai " lol 😆

I understand that there might be singers no one has heard of that might be better than some established singers. However, I don't think there is anyone better than Shreya or Sunidhi right now. Or a Prime Alka (90s-00s). And the ones you said aren't fortunate to get proper limelight, teachings, and don't have enough money, or parents don't support it, don't study and practice music as much as singers like Shreya & Sunidhi have. Maybe if they got proper practice then they could be as good, but Shreya and Sunidhi have been singing since they were 4 years old. And have been practicing since that age. (I've read both of them started that age).

So yes they were fortunate enough to receive supporting parents, and have been practicing singing at such a young age, making them better than other potentially great singers who didn't get support for their singing for whatever reason.

My point being, to be at that level, Sunidhi & Shreya have practiced very hard all their lives. And without that much attention to singing at such a young age, they probably wouldn't be where they are right now.

So yeah there are some who potentially could've been better than what they are like the rickshaw guy (i doubt it), but they aren't because they didn't get the proper care. And yes there might actually be singers better than established, but no female singers better than Shreya & Sunidhi currently in India. If you think otherwise, try naming one.
