Thx for this song. A divine performance from Shreya. I have heard her sing it live and amazingly felt she sang it even better then. Her rendition is flawless and is definitely one of her best ever performances. Its a difficult song but, shreya sounds so effortless. Kudos to her. I just have no words to say more. Don't think I even need to tell my score now :)

I couldn't comment much at the beginning of the round, but if anyone is interested in my comments, I'm sorry but I'm going to disappoint you. The singing here is so flawless that I cannot praise it enough in words.

All I will say is that the details of the harkats were awesome - enough to bring the singing up to a nine. But besides that, Shreya came out of her Anuradha Paudwal hangover in this performance - her singing is full of bounce, vibrancy and emotion.

AND the heavenly, slight falsetto projection in the high notes
AND the awesomely precise yet lively taan at the end

All the above (and much more) made me give her a 10.

There was only one mistake I recorded throughout the song, which was that she pronounced 'sargoshi' with a throatless 'g'. The 'g' in 'guru' is not the same sound as the 'g' in 'guroor'! But I will not cut one whole point for just that.

First of all, this was a very difficult song to sing. And Shreya Ghosal, with her fantastic voice quality, sang this to perfection. She sang all the high notes perfect, the classic sections were also perfect, everything was just perfect. She displayed great range throughout the song, while her voice remained perfect throughout. She also displayed great singing ability & talent throughout the song since it was so challenging.

Probably the best performance of this whole contest so far

I have been patiently reading all your comments. One observation of mine which I want to tell here.

You gave Mere Dholna a perfect 10 which never got nominated at any major award function.
You gave a 8/10 to Bairi Piya which got nominated in Filmfare and won a National Award for Shreya.

So basically you are also questioning the decision of the jury who as you say judge for their living. And when we question HR's best singer award in 2005 you tell us that who are we to judge when the esteemed jury who judge for living has made a decision.

Again lets keep HR out of it. The only thing I want to say to you is 'Awards may be one but they are never the best judge of a singer's capability' There are lot of good songs which go completely unnoticed at awards. Mere Dholna of course is one of them as your points prove and I am not questioning that becuase this song is truly great.
