Isn't this site made for people to voice out their opinions?? anyway, back to you question with what in this song is so significant. you've just picked out a few sentences from the song and look at these few lines:

Singh surmaie, rakh de ne aan,
Agar lorh payi te de denge jaan,
Raje maharaje vi kar desi maan,
Rakhde si pag unchi, bande di shaan..

Jo singha ne kithiyan kurbaaniyan ne,
Who duniya pe chad gayi nishaniyan ne,
Duniya de ban gaye singh badshah,
Par sabto uncha, oh sacha badshah..

these above lines hold the most significance since for years we've witnessed punjabis being made fun of in the movies and this movie was made to show the world of their strengths and what they've given the nation. the movie as well as the song was made to convince the sardars to uphold their culture and tradition. now a days people aren't as devoted to the culture and take wrong paths and through this movie and song, they try to send a message to the community to uphold their culture and traditions and to be proud of it. and coming to your speculation that the song can be over anyone, well if it was over a hindu or even someone significant, yes the song would still be significant for them and i am pretty sure that a comment like "stupid song" would anger some people out there!

I disagree with you. The comment of SophiaQ was very logical IMHO. We have a famous quote in bengali that ultimately means "let the other people say if you are great". I still do not see anything overhelming in this sing is king song. Punjabi's are a great race, the Indian defence, politics, science, sports etc etc are all benefitted greatly by them. They have great singers, poets etc. but this sing is king song is not a great one. I could not find any intelect in the lyrics. But as I had written, no offence was meant and I am sorry if you are hurt.

Mika was plain rude and Shaan is very calm and cool, but Mika crossed all limits! We went on to say Shaan didn't know the what surs are, hello Mika: Shaan has won 2 filmfare awards for his singing, so I'm pretty sure he knows what sur is! I back up Shaan all the way!

I don't mean to be rude, but this comment was unncessary. There is nothing in disliking "Singh Is King" that is against Punjabis.

"Hain ek color ke tera patte, lekin in mein bas ek king.
Ace bhi hum hain, base bhi hum hain, aur jigar mein hain daring.
Hum, hum kare dil ki jo marzi, karte karte bas hadh kar di,
Dil agar sacha ho rab sab karde setting....
Singh is King, Singh is King, Singh is King......."

Replace Singh with Wazir, Khalil, etc., it becomes a song about a Pathan/Pukhtun. Replace it with a Patel, it becomes about a Gujarati. Please tell me what in this song is so significant to a Punjabi?

Wow didn't know that "singh is king" is an anthem for sardars......!!!!!😕😕

Hee hee. Shaan really got red faced there.😳
I think that shaan and himesh double crossed MIka .In initial matches when their own candidates were not in sur...they said that maahol was important and not sur.So Mika gave them 10 marks.😉
However today when Mika's singer was singing Shaan and Himesh went for sur and conveniently forgot the maahol......😆😆😉
When sharib and neeti showed romantic feelings and hugged each other, they got 10 marks....😳😳
But today when wdali and himani showed love for each other.... well they got 7 marks......😆😆😆
