When Himesh Reshammiya turned away from 'Welcome'

Half way through the making of Firoz Nadiadwala's film Welcome , music director Himesh Reshammiya lost interest in the project.

Producer Nadiadwala and director Anees Bazmee were keen to have Himesh as the music composer of the film because his songs in Nadiadwala's Phir Hera Pheri had proved to be a hit.

Himesh, too, was committed to the project until the success of Aap Ka Suroor happened.

Following the good run of his acting debut at the marquee, Himesh took the decision to compose music only for those films that would star him in the leading role.

The makers of 'Welcome' didn't take long to sense Himesh's half heartedness. Without wasting time they roped in two other composers – Anand Raj Anand and Sajid-Wajid duo.

Himesh says even though he opted out of the project mid-way, there is no bitterness between him and the makers of 'Welcome', who, Himesh claims, have been his friends for a long time.

By the way, the music of 'Welcome' hasn't really found many admirers.

Pluses:Notwithstanding the scepticism about his acting debut and self-styled rock star image, Himesh shocked everybody by rocking the box-office with his perfect debut Aap Kaa Surroor, which got as big an opening as Partner. Distributors and producers consider him a safe bet and are queuing up with music and acting offer worth Rs three crores per film.
Minuses: His success as hero must be sustained to show that his debut was no flash-in-the-pan.
Projects: T-Series' productions' remake of Karzzzz, Pooja Bhatt's Kajraare which is written by Mahesh Bhatt and John Matthew Matthan's Love iisshtory.
Billing: His music itself ensures a minimum guarantee of Rs five crores so the offered price of Rs three hardly does justice to him. Buzz is that the choosy Himesh is partnering most of his films.

Himesh Reshammiya's first Tamil film, Dashaavtaram's, music will be released by Jackie Chan. The action superstar is expected to fly down to Chennai in February 2008 for the music launch of this film starring Kamal Hassan in 10 different roles.

Apparently, the producer of the film, Oscar Films' Ravichandran, managed to persuade Chan to do the honours since he holds the rights to release Jackie Chan's movies in India. According to our sources, Ravichandran showed the Rush Hour series of the southern superstar's films which got him impressed. When we broke the news to him, Himesh said, "I am really delighted to hear this."

A grand function is being planned for the launch of the music where top Bollywood stars will be invited. The invite list includes Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, stars from the south like Nagarjuna, Chiranjeevi, Mammootty, Mohanlal, Nagarjuna and Vishnu Vardhan will also be invited.

Asin, who is playing the lead opposite Aamir Khan in his Ghajini remake, is the heroine of Dashaavtaram. It also has Mallika Sherawat playing a negative character.

Presently 300 technicians at two different places are working round the clock on its post production. The film is also being dubbed in Hindi and is going to be released together in the both its versions during the Tamil New Year in mid-April 2008.

Himesh Reshmaiya rocks at Amsterdam concert

The Aap Ka Suroor Star, who made ripples with the music of the Film MURDER rocked Amsterdam with his live concert.


On Saturday he performed LIVE in front of the audience at the Amsterdam Heineken music hall. This show is said to be a massive success with house full crowds. What made Himesh and his entire troupe even more surprised was that the audience present at the show were nnot only Indians but also many were from other parts of the world . They were swaying to the tunes of Himesh and were mesmerized by his music .

Himesh is the first ever-Indian singer to perform at the Heineken music hall in Amsterdam. Till date only the international rock stars like Beyonance,Pink Floyd,Akon etc were the only performers. And himesh was very happy as not only this concluded that his show was a hit but he came to know that his admirer's are not only present in India but also in different parts of the world.


Lets Hope Himesh will carry on this magic in future.

Himesh Reshammiya is quite a pro at donning and doffing his trademark cap. He's had people guessing for a long time about his look in Bhushan Kumar's Karzzzz. He will be seen without his cap in almost the entire film.

Himesh's hair transplant is also complete. All the more reason for him to toss aside his cap! Himesh says, 'Yes, it is true that I will be without my cap in 75 per cent of the film. My sister, Roopa has designed the look. I had lots of meetings with Bhushanji and we discussed my look in detail.'

Meanwhile, Himesh is busy composing music for the film. 'The music is a big responsibility. Music from the original film is still remembered widely.'

Himesh says that everything else is in place and he is looking forward to start filming Karzzzz. The shooting is scheduled to commence from mid January and the film will be shot in South Africa, Kenya & Mumbai.

The Karzzzz remake will be produced by Bhushan Kumar and Kishen Kumar. It will be directed by Satish Kaushik. The film stars Himesh Reshammiya, Urmila Matondkar, Gulshan Grover, Danny Denzongpa and Rohini Hatangadi. Himesh Reshammiya plays the role of Rishi Kapoor in the remake.

T-Series has bought the remake rights of Karz from Subhash Ghai's Mukta Arts. The original film starred Rishi Kapoor, Tina Munim, Premnath amongst others.

Himesh Reshammiya is all set to don the role of Rishi Kapoor in the remake of Karz, which has been titled Karzzzz. Himesh will star as the main lead and will also compose the music for the film. Himesh has also gone in for a new look in the film, in 75 percent of the film he will be seen sans his trademark cap as his hair transplant is complete and done with.

In his debut film 'Aap Ka Suroor', Himesh was seen with his trademark cap for most part of the film. Himesh had a major hair loss problem and went in for hair transplant. Now that the hair transplant is complete, he has decided to toss aside his cap for major part of this film. Himesh confirms the news saying "yes, it is true that I will be without my cap in 75 percent of the film. I had lots of meetings with producer Bhushanji and we discussed my look in detail." Himesh's sister Roopa has designed his look in Karzzzz. The film is a remake of the Rishi Kapoor-Tina Munim starrer which was a super hit and the music too was extremely popular. Himesh is composing the music and claims that it is a big responsibility as the music of the original Karz is remembered widely, but nonetheless he is willing to take on the challenge.

The original Karz was produced by Subhash Ghai's Mukta Arts and hence the remake rights have been purchased from them. Bhushan and Kishen Kumar will now produce the remake. Himesh Reshammiya ready to doff his cap

Time is ripe for music composer Himesh Reshammiya to take off his trademark cap.

After doffing his cap for just a few scenes in his successful acting debut Aap Ka Suroor , Himesh is now ready to let go of the cap completely. Reason, his hair-transplant has been done successfully and his baldness is gone.

So now Himesh will flaunt his long hair in his next film Karzzzz , a modern-day remake of Subhash Ghai's hit movie 'Karz'.

Himesh's look for the movie has been designed by his sister Roopa. The composer has been given a makeover of a rockstar. And about two-third of the film will have Himesh without his cap.

He will indeed wear a skullcap or a baseball cap for some sequences because his fans want to see him in his familiar look.

Produced by T-Series, the film will be directed by Satish Kaushik . Reshammiya himself will compose the tunes.

The shooting begins in January 2008.

His nasal patterns, whilst wielding the microphone, may have created die-hard fans out of many. But composer-singer, Himesh Reshammiya's wild ride doesn't quite end just there.

Cashing in on his soaring popularity, HR made a hugely publicised acting debut in the wildly titled Aap Ka Surroor: The Moviee: The Real Luv Story.

Snigger and skepticism notwithstanding, the star had the last laugh with AKS enjoying a terrific opening at the box office. Whether it's a one-time thing, only the fate of his forthcoming Karzzzz, a remake of Subhash Ghai's reincarnation saga, will decide.
