I don’t have a favourite song by them. Almost all of them are my favourites.

Nowadays, these two songs are playing on loop: “Here comes the Sun” and "Let it be”. Also, "Hey Jude" and “Taxman”

Their songs are such a bundle of positive energy and happiness ❤️

Happy Global Beatles Day! 🎉

Yeah, it's hard to pick a favorite. My favorite Beatles song is whatever is playing atm!

Update: I have recently gotten a 24X7 Beatles radio channel in my car, and I'm freakin' loving it!

Two of my absolute favorities:

1. The Long and Winding Road

2. While My Guitar Gently Weeps

These are also great numbers to play on an electric guitar and sing along.

Hi Birdie! Welcome to the Beatles AT. Love both the songs you mentioned. Do you play the guitar? Do post your singing/ playing on the YVYS thread!

I wondered for a moment how Long and Winding Road would sound just on guitar because of the heavy orchestration that the og song had. But then my kid learned to play Eleanor Rigby so I guess it’s doable.

PS. Paul hated what Phil Spector did to that song.

oh, Eleanor Rigby! love that one too!

thanks for the welcome here Lizzie. I've been learning the guitar now for the past 5 years... have played about 1000 hours in all- 10,000 hours can make someone world class, so I am hoping to get there in about 50 years. :)

I happened to sing those two songs last year at a fund-raiser at a shore. There were another three guys in the band. They were all professionals and do regular gigs all over, including NYC, Austin.... One was on the drums, another was doing the saxophone, and the third was playing the guitar. The big-time alumni from my univ who hosted the event was like the character right out from The Great Gatsby. Robert Redford. White clothes. Tennis & Racquet Club. Very classy. And those songs went down well with the crowd. Got my picture with the guy, and told him when I grow up, I want to be like him. :) Sadly, I didn't think of recording it when I got up there... :)

btw, there's a band that plays in NYC that specializes in Beatles numbers. I've heard them also in the wine country in Long Island. They do a lot of concerts there...

That sounds wonderful. Both the playing guitar and playing Beatles live with professionals. Yeah, there are a lot of Beatle-like bands. I listened to one of them at the Tavern in Liverpool. That was a real dream come true!

oh wow, very nice! I had about an hour in Liverpool, and made a quick stop to see the tavern...It was late Sunday evening. There was no band playing then.

I found this on Twitter and thought it was as cute as it was funny and sorta weird/nerdy. And I thought fellow Beatles nerds would get it, so posting :)
