Reshammiya goes slow with 'Ahista Ahista'
<>document.write('By Joginder Tuteja, ') By Joginder Tuteja, IndiaGlitz [Wednesday, May 31, 2006]

Reshammiya's presence in the musical scene has only made life easier for journos like us. There is not a single day when the composer/singer doesn't make news and it is inevitable for his work to find a place in media.

The man has been known for his unique style of composing and singing that has ensured that he has at least one potential superhit number [sometimes extending to even 3-4] in each of his films for which he is roped in. The same can be comfortably said about his forthcoming film 'Ahista Ahista' that has Abhay Deol and Soha Ali Khan in the lead along with Shyan Munshi.

A sweet love story with a setting straight out of life, 'Ahista Ahista' is a musical for which the promotion has just kick-started with a Reshammiya number 'Tum Dil Mein Shareek Huye - ahista ahista'! A slow song with shades of the title song from 'Humko Deewana Kar Gaye' it has Reshammiya composing and singing, once again, and looks all set to be yet another chartbuster for the man in coming days!

Says DJ Girish, "On a Wednesday, one can be thoroughly experimental with the music. With the crowd being more seasoned, I play a good mix of retro, trance and hip-hop as well. But when it comes to playing on a weekend, Bolly tunes clearly rule the roost. And now, of course, it's Himesh Reshammiya."

Hindi Music Review: Chup Chup Ke Deepa1021
2006--19:45:31
Yawn is the word that comes to mind when you think of any movie starring real-life couple Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor. Kareena, the youngest of the Kapoor family, who's been in the business for the last 75 years, and Shahid, a new kid on the block who doesn't really have such a daunting identity.

Their third film together, Chup Chup Ke, is meant to be a comedy, also starring queen of skin flicks Neha Dhupia. What? Yep, you heard me. Adding to the humor quotient are Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav (both are hilarious!)

However, while this movie has very few expectations, the songs are suprisingly pleasant. In fact, I decided to write this review after hearing the first song! The music is composed by Himesh Reshammiya and the lyrics are written by Sameer. So here goes!

Aaya Re- Arya, Kunal Ganjawala, Sunidhi Chauhan

The album starts off on a great note with this song. It's catchy and likeable. The lyrics are fun and simple- the same "I have fallen in love with you" type of song. But the tune makes this one stand out. This is one song you wouldn't mind listening to over and over again. It has a typical Kunal Ganjawala feel to it, with Sunidhi Chauhan lending the perfect female pitch to the song. It's nice to see her sing something other an item number, and she does it well!

Shabbe Firaq- Himesh Reshammiya, Tulsi Kumar

The USP of this song is that it is sung by Tulsi Kumar, sister to music baron Bhushan Kumar, who founded T-Series and was murdered several years ago. She's a little high pitched, but not a bad showing for being so early in the game (this is her second album). Himesh Reshammiya is his usual nasal self and doesn't explore new ground with this song. This might be the weakest song in the album. It wasn't great. In fact, it wasn't even good. However, it wasn't horrible. I would give it a 5 out of 10, probably.

Dil Vich Lagya Ve- Akriti Kakkar, Kunal Ganjawala, Sonu Nigam

Wow, does Sonu Nigam sound different or what?! His voice is the real treat in this song. Akriti Kakkar, who's quite popular on the pop music scene, sounds good. (Any relation to Indian Idol finalist Neha Kakkar? Who knows!) There's a remix version to the song, which is pretty fun too. The songs both sound good, but I found it very hard to get really excited about either one of them.

Ghoomar- K.K, Sunidhi Chauhan

K.K. is one singer who keeps a low profile but churns out all the best songs in Bollywood. He's probably the most under-publicized bundle of talent Bollywood has seen in recent years. And he doesn't let us down in this song either. The song sounds slightly like "Aaya Re" but is good, nevertheless. It's very likeable—worth hearing a few times over. Definitely a step up from Dil Vich Lagya Ve. This song also has a remix by K.K. and Sunidhi Chauhan, but tell me something new. I'm getting so tired of remixes! Stick to the original, people!

Tumhi Se- Shreya Ghoshal, Vijay Yesudas

This soft song seems like it is picturized on a fancy party with ballroom-type dancing (watch it be a raunchy number in the middle of the jungle!) It's pleasant, like the rest of the songs. The singers are sort of above the song—they carry with great ease. I wish we would hear more of Vijay Yesudas. He's quite good! And as for Shreya Ghoshal- she's been touted the next Lata Mangeshkar, the eternal nightingale of Bollywood music. She needs no introduction. Will someone please give this girl a song that challenges her? Oh wait, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is too busy collecting awards for Black. (Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who gave Shreya her first assignment in his blockbuster Devdas, is the only one who's fully tapped into her true talent. And as for the Black comment, he recreated a Hindi version of the Helen Keller story. The movie was brilliant and he's swept all the awards from here to next year.)

Tumhi Se- Kunal Ganjawala

Let'see. What can I say about this one? It's good. Kunal Ganjawala does soft just as well as he does fast. If you like the first version, you'll like this one.

Mausam Bada Hai Qatil - Sonu Nigam

This is a pleasant sounding, foot-tapping number with excellent vocals Sonu Nigam. It reminds me of the olden days in Bollywood, something just gives it that feels. The lyrics are pretty decent, but obviously nothing to go crazy over. Not bad!

Overall, this is a pleasant album that's likely to be popular. I'm not too excited about the movie, but I wouldn't completely give this album a miss. A 7 out of 10.

A Bollywood blockbuster to come

Ratan Jain of coveted film abode - Venus Films and famous director Darmesh Darshan are fettering the hands to churn out their offering, 'Aap Ki Khatir'. Lucid it is that the exquisite combination of Ratan Jain and Akshaye Khanna has previously hit the jackpot and ignited the box office with a hatrick of hits i.e. 'Humraaz, Hungama and Hulchul'. Thus the success ratio with the very talented-blue eyed actor made the producer to hire his services once again too.

The track record of Venus Films has many hits to its credit like 'Baazigar, Josh, Khiladi, Humraaz, Hungama, Hulchul and Garam Masala'. The recent being 'Garam Masala' directed by the comedy king Priyadarshan was a mega hit of the last year giving birth to a super star (Akshay Kumar) thus making him stand along with big Bollywood mega stars - Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan. Directed by Darmesh Darshan, this jaunt pairs Akshaye Khanna with the former Miss World turned actress Priyanka Chopra for the very first time on Indian celluloid. Sexily stunning actress's talents are now known facts after the marvelous acting in 'Aitraaz'. Alongside these two cinema provisos, other creamy talents of Bollywood have been hired to act the leads from the very gorgeous luminous actress Amisha Patel, dashing Dino Morea, macho Suniel Shetty to veteran Anupam Kher.

'Aap Ki Khatir' is a romantic comedy. And the insiders, who have seen the rushes of this movie, have been raving about the pair's blazing chemistry. And in all Bollywood circles, the talk is churning out that Akshaye and Priyanka will be the next silver screen couple. Sensing these lucrative scuttlebutts going on within the cinema fraternity about this new pair of Akshaye and Priyanka, the distributors are dyeing to have the distribution rights for the film. The producer and director are confident that the film will be a big 'Hit' since both the leading protagonists have dexterity to give blockbusters.

< =text/> < src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js" =text/>

Let's wait and see how capable this man – Darmesh Darshan would be in making a romantic comedy as he is famous for spiting out romantic movies. He has given hits like 'Raja Hindustani' and 'Dhadkan'. His latest 'Mere Jeevan Saathi' starring Akshay Kumar with two ravishing beauties of Bollywood – Karsihma Kapoor and Amisha Patel failed badly at the box office. But with the successful banner of Venus behind, hopes go in a right direction that movie will fit with the audience's expectations.

A big attraction has also been roped in to make this flick a runaway success. Absolutely correct, he is none other than the present iconic of music industry Himesh Reshammiya who is scoring composition for this film album.

Just flip through the team - Ratan Jain, Darmesh Darshan, Akshaye Khanna, Priyanka Chopra, Amisha Patel, Anupam Kher and Himesh Reshammiya – they all are laced with huge skills to make marks. Yes, a big hit can surely be expected.

The film is slated for the release in last week of August or 1st week of September, 06.

Sorry, house full!

No, it wasn't a signboard outside a cinema hall, it was just the state of this suburban nightclub the other night, when all and sundry partied like there was no tomorrow!
DJ Vijay provided the live music; he spun some of the latest hip hop numbers which had models
Kavita Kharayat and Mridula Chandrashekhar
grooving through most of the night.
Sunny Sara and Suvedh Lohia
hung around with those from the model fraternity: Neha Kapur, Pia Trivedi and Sanya Sheikh. New model-on-theblock Kushal Tandon hung around with a friend, while Rij Eappen came without his wife Arshiya. Last, but certainly not the least to enter was singer-composer Himesh Reshammiya, who made a grand entry and stayed by the bar for most of the night enjoying the music.

time.
