Totally totally totally agree... Shiv is simply superb as IMV... He is a natural - any other character will make it what we hope it will not become -- filmy... Already the plot is resembling filmy ishtyle with coincidences and sequences galore... D is beginning to resemble a bimbo and the characters have started assuming a wooden ness that is so filmy...

😕

Only and only Shiv for IMV - keep the great dialogues and proximity to the original story if possible...

Do not destroy the main USPs:
1. Story ⭐️
2. IMV as portrayed by Shiv ⭐️
3. Characterization and superlative dialogues ⭐️⭐️

Agree with all of you that IMV makes MB more than any of the other characters combined. It is the story of IMV and the other's are all side characters however lovable and credible, who would not be missed if they disappeared for a few days or even replaced by a new face. The thing that makes MB different from other soaps is that it's foundation is based on business and personal ethics, and IMV's strength as a character. Not the love triangles, nor the extra marital affairs nor the besotted lovers running after exes when they're married. If that's what anyone wanted to see, there are hundreds of other soaps to choose from, with your pick of favorite actors or actresses who can look pretty. Why should anyone want to watch MB if it's about Vaibhav and Sabina's forbidden love story, or even Devki and Vaibhav's love story. These characters are very well written and acted, but it is in no way unique. What makes MB unique is IMV's character and Shiv's portrayal of him. Nobody else can play IMV as the detached and ruthless businessman with a heart, and true to his principles, whether right or wrong. He is neither right nor wrong; neither good nor evil; but the epitome of grey we all are to some extent; the ultimate anti-hero. And it's Shiv who has through his portrayal conveyed what IMV truly is; and nobody else can replace him not as IMV. Making IMV ruthless and harsh without being evil; and sensitive without being dramatic is as much to the writer's credit as it is to Shiv for his portrayal. If Shiv is replaced, MB is doomed coz then it will not have anything that makes this show special and it will buried under the weight of hundreds of other grander scale regular soaps.

Hi Kools,

Here u are (ur posts and not tr. PM route), as remembered ur earlier nudge @ a new show. Just went tr. PR Forum... almost as unfamiliar as a new place. What's up there? Or u too stayed off? Read a posts there...many actors r leaving the show?! What a fall, though following a formula soap's predictable trajectory perhaps?

Something I always said . 😊 Exactly these words , the best anti hero we had in a longgg time to come .Its IMV who makes this serial tick , not the other cast ...with all due respect I cannot imagine Chetan Pandit playing IMV and Ashutosh Rana is in a different calibre altogether ...he won't Suit this role at all . Shiv was perfect , subjective as this statement may be .

Kools,

no I've not much familiar with this serial but for some fleeting views during YRKKH breaks (an irregular watch itself)...But if I am connecting correctly then isn't it based on HarKisan Mehta's novel. The author is a well known Guajarati novelist. His stories used to come as serialized installments in popular Gujarati Magazine Chitralekha. The magazine's meteoric rise in 70s or 80s was partly attributed to contribution of two authors in its stable- HK and Tarak Mehta's undha chashma sitcom. I've read a few of HK novels post publication in book form as part of interesting Gujarati literature... Remembered him writing mostly on Walkeshwar Gujarati Milieu or alike, though 'Amir Ali na Pila Rumal in Gaanth' was a fascinating read on Thag Community 'Pindharas'. His other fascinating novel "Jaggs Daku na ver na valamna" was also about an anti Hero. He was accomplished in presenting well etched anti Heroes.

I've not read Mukti Bandhan. But heve heard that it's based on Dhirubhai Ambani. HK had a soft corner for the success of 'only Vimal'. But it was not solely drawing from Ambani's. I think he was more inspired by Sumati Morarji- an amazing lady entrepreneur in Gujarati corporate world. More interestingly, she was groomed into business world by her charismatic Father-in law Narottam Morarji, the founder of Scindia stem navigation Company, which she later went on to head as chairperson. She was involved in the underground movement of independence. She was elected as vice-president of the World Shipping Federation, London in 70s. I think HK had woven this benevolent Father-in- law angle in the novel. Besides, His novels had another parallel with Tv's soap serials. They were serialized and aimed at keeping the readers' interest animated. He was deft in weaving good twists and suspense at the end of a chapter, making the reader's eagerly waiting for next installment- a week long eager wait! (Familiar week-end pre-caps?!- but unlike them, his twists were invariably propelling the plot- not hindering.) 😊

@smrth: thanks a ton for this rather intriguing piece of info.. gives perspective to the source of inspiration for not just this show but the novel that I have now heard a lot about.. I so wish this show was made 10 or 15 yrs b4..it wld be more appreciated and cld continue as a cult without undue hindrance.. and I could catch it up as a grown up on repeats😆.

I defo think the concept will not materialize with the majority audience's psyche.. and will deviate from the main premise.. which it already has to be big extent..

smarth this is very very interesting info . Sumati Morarjee and Ambanis ...so he drew bits and pieces from there is it

Will surely read up on Sumati

I do wish they continue showing Devki as an enterpreneur and working WITH IMV and learning from him

I really don't like these personal tracks

Too much emotion and hi voltage drama
