Who says Shiv Subramaniam did not do justice to the character of IMV ?
I repeat ...says WHO ?
He has done such a fantastic job of portryaing IMV ...cold , detached , clinically objective in summing up human beings like commodities ...that we cannotand will not imagine Mukti Bandhan without HIM .
No one else will be able to be the IMV that Shiv portrayed . No other actor , with all due respect to their talents . This role was tailor made for Shiv .
The low TRPS r not due to Shiv's controlled acting . They are due to the indoctrinated mentality of The Indian viewers to soaps ...they will have time accepting ANYTHING different than saas bahu shows and garish vamps ...to which they have been exposed to for a VERY long time .
To accept ANYTHING new and good , it takes time . To shake off the stupor that the resigned , defeated mind has sunk into after watching years and years of such formula soaps [ Oh , u put on ANY channel its the same yaar }and to accept something new and credible will of course need some time .
Hell , it needed YEARS for us Indians to snap out of the typical running around trees and singing in garden romances shown in Hindi Movies and to appreciate the slickly made walking with the time movies .
But we DO watch these movies now , and we remember the running around In garden movies with fond nostalgia .
Mukti Bandhan was one the greatest odd ball shows ever made ...A STORY , for starters , a complex character like IMV , great dialogues , and Non bitchy women for a change .
The story ran bcoz of the character Ishvar Virani or IMV ...and the great dialogues .
Take away IMV and the story falls .
If you guys r under the impression that bringing Sabina back will pull TRPS in minus IMV...dream on .
Already the Virani House looks empty without IMV . No couples , no amount of romance will make MB interesting if IMV is not looming in the background , all grey and profound .
If u guys think for a moment that any other actor will do BETTER in IMV's role by playing the role more flashily , u will only undo the incredible efforts Shiv put in the role by appropriately underplaying it .
He built IMV by underplaying the role purposefully .
A flashy IMV , in rage , emotions or villainy , will simply destroy the serial.
So Sorry but we cannot accept this serial without SHIV as IMV .
Take IMV away , and what remains ? A pathetic Triangle romance which may seem good now but which will become a classic BORE within a month as it gets incredulous by the day due to sheer immorality .
Theres only so much immorality that the Indian viewer can take .
Sabina in and IMV out ???
What remains in the story then ?
IMV as the anchor and the cast around him was the story .
On his own , Vaibhav does NOT run the story . Neither does Sid . Neither does Nirali .
The old couple ...Master and BAA too do not make the story .
Neither do Devki and Sabina .
But Devki and IMV did make the story .
More than ille ille with Sabina , IMV's tussle with Sabina was interesting to watch. How long will ille ille hold interest ?
We viewers r already BORED . Bring IMV back , complete with his own unscruplous principles in thich the ends justify the means , and weave stories around him in which he ultimately play a part .
Bring SHIV back . He gave us a character we had to date read about only in books . He gave us IMV .
