DC:Deven is a happy homemaker

Popular tele actor, Deven Bhojani now plays a 'house-husband' in his latest serial, Mrs. Tendulkar. Talking about this new show, Bhojani says, "The narrative focuses on a colony of bank employees in Maharashtra. All the characters live in the same mohalla and every morning they go to the same office together. Suddenly among the old residents, the Tendulkar family becomes the newbie."

Deven continues his narration, "I play the character of Suhas Tendulkar, who is the show's protagonist and a professional daily soap writer. But his scripts are very clichd in their content. Despite this, his serials are always successful and rank number one on the TRP charts. I suppose you could call it a spoof or a satirical jibe at the current trend in the entertainment circuit."

After directing Instant Khichdi, Deven played a crucial role in Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai and even directed the popular serial, Baa Bahu Aur Baby.

TV being his first love always, Bhojani has been very careful in picking his film roles. "I have declined 18 or more film offers so far, as nothing exciting came my way. Also I have a responsibility towards my viewers and can't compromise. So I didn't mind sitting idle for a few months without work. I can only enjoy doing the kind of stuff that my conscience allows me to," he declares.
