Raj n kranti r walking in the street. Kranti is failing to stop her tears..Chaijee's sad face is coming in her mind again n again. She is feeling that destiny has orphaned her again. She is finding it hard to look at Raj's face. She understands the pain of getting separated from family n she never wished anyone even her enimies to go through this pain. She is holding herself responsible for Raj's sufferings.
Raj is walking without saying anything. He was planning to save his parents from that evil lady. He is unable to understand why his father gave this banishment to him. More than his own future he is worried abt his parents. Kranti wants to say some words to him but cannot say anything. Raj sees the flag of a Shiv Mandir. He stops there n prays " O Lord give me strength to keep myself strong'. give me strength so that I cud free my parents from evil clutches' protect my parents from all evil conspiracies. Then he again starts walking
Suddenly both of them hear cry, anti-British slogan, gunshots. An unruly mob is coming closer to them. They were too depressed to take any quick judgment. Suddenly they feel that both of them have become part of this unruly mob. Raj tightly holds her hand n starts running and reaches a shop. He thinks that he has reached a safe place. All shop owner r quickly closing their shop. The shop owner of the shop where RK r standing asks them to go to their home as situation has become worse. They have no reply for this. He asks them to go elsewhere because he is closing his shop. They again join the mob. Both of them were holding each others hand tightly. Suddenly the entire thing takes the shape of riot. Some miscreants are taking undue advantage of the situation. Police man r brutally doing lathi charge. An armed policeman on horse starts firing. People starts running madly. Kranti loses his hold. They r lost in mob. Kranti sees a middle aged woman. She knows her or not she is not sure. But she rushes to save her from lathi blows. Kranti gets severely hurt. Raj spots Kranti n that woman too. He covers her with his arms. He too gets badly hurt. Kranti asks him that to leave her protect that woman. Raj becomes confused he has not time to think. He tries to protect both of them from lathi charge. He was bleeding. They manage to escape form there. They mount on tanga. The woman asks Raj where his residence is. Raj gives no reply. She again asks he feels embarrassed. The woman ask tanga wala to stop n says to Raj, "Mera ghar aa gaya' tum use lekar jaldi aao' kaafi khoon beh raha hai"
Raj agrees. He carries her. He lays her on a bed. She provides some first aid to her. Raj is worried abt Kranti.. Woman asks him Raj not worry.
She asks their name. He says. Woman offers him some food. He denies. He takes only water. Someone knocks the door. The woman opens the door. Policeman says"agar kisi ko chhupa ke rakhaa hai to uparwala bhi use bacha nahi sakta. The women replies, "aisi kuch nahi hai." Policeman says, "tumhara beta kab aaya amirtsar se.. aur waah biwi bhi le aaya". The woman says "ha kal hi aaya hai bahu ke saath." Raj gets shocked he wants to deny it but cannot say anything. Police leaves. Raj gets angry but suddenly he hears Kranti saying something in subconscious state so he immediately rushes to her. The woman goes in another room to take rest. Raj is unable to sleep so many problems in a single day
It was 2:am. He decides to ask her why she addressed him as her son. He sees that women has coved her face and is shedding tears. Raj goes closer to her n aks "kya baat hai?" She replies "kuch nahi" He says "aap mujhe kahiye". She says "jaao mujhe akela chod do.. tum yahi jaanna chaate ho na ki maine tumhe police walo ke saamne apna beta kyun kaha". Raj say "aapne hame sahara diya .. ye mera wada hai aap mujhpar bete ki tarah yakin kar sakti hai"' She takes a deep breath n tries to control her tears n says,
"main Shaheed Sohan Singh ki behen hu". Raj's face becomes pale.. Suddenly someone knocks the door n calls "maa". The woman rushes to open the door n says "tu aa gaya Shubhankar"
