Typical Twists in Hindi Serials

The father has a sudden heart attack due to overbearing family problems
- Pregnant lady falls down the stairs and loses her baby

- Someone in the family gets a brain tumor and hides from the entire family to keep them happy

- The father denounces his own son from his family for his daughter in law.

- A bad character will only succeed in his/her plan if this plan will make good person marry someone.

- Someone in the family hires an assassin to kill someone else

- Someone stands behind a door listens on someone else's conversation and find out the secret.


- The secret all the viewers want the main character to find out... and everyone else knows it except for him/her.
- A chawl girl/middle class girl will always end up marrying a millionaire.

- The family appears to love the new daughter-in-law and start hating their own children.

- A bad character does something bad and gets blamed, but a goodie, goodie, character does the same thing and she/he remains good.

- No matter how bad happens to any member of the family the main character the leading lady has solution of all problems.

- After losing a baby, a family member finds out they can never conceive again

- After finding out they can never conceive again...they never adopt a child and keep crying

Here's another one: A lead character gets into a terrible accident after which plastic surgery has to be done and they are given a new and glamorous look (more like the actor/actress is fired/replaced!)
