* The DMG forum has become a war zone.... it's more of a Celebrity forum with discussions of actresses Shilpa Sukirti and whoever, as compared to a forum about the show

* True fans of the show find it impossible to discuss the show and share their true feelings and true criticism because everything is turned into bashing....by the people who hate on the show now and just like to ruin the forum wish bashing

* Sadly action isnt taken against members who both indirectly and directly go around bashing not just celebs but also other members of the forum

* Even when members are warned or banned they dont care because some members have this attitude that 'who cares if we get banned, we'l make another id and come back'...they go and make these intentions of theirs clear at other parts of I-F..... There's a lot of fake ID's created by members just so they can bash

advantages: new friends nd ppl to share ideas nd thoughts with. esp for me as i dont hav any friends who watch indian shows so its hard to talk to them bout any of this.

disadvantages: always gettin reported nd always bein suppressed for even stating ur opinion just cuz it hurt someone elses feelings. not bein able to hav critical discussions without it turning into a fight.

agreed!

i especially enjoy the chat clubs where you can just talk to people without much worry about hurting feelings and people taking offence. a good place for discussion. however i do believe some sections need to be more accepting and open to opinions.

-Good place to interact with individuals while keeping a normal life for yourself.

-Easy access to all sorts of videos/pictures

Disadvantages:

- Hyprocrites lurk around IF LOL - you know who you are =)

- Biases on the forum because groups of people are favoured by particular Mods - same action isnt taken for everyone

- Mod close down topics while asking a Q in their reply- feels like a dictatorship to me! Lol

- PM system is weak - Mod dont reply because sometimes they dont have justifications for their actions..but once they are questioned. BAM

you go to jail bad boy! =)

I could not agree more here.

I would like to add on my behalf that the system within IF needs great fixation and then only peace can be achieved.

Just because one is best friends with moderator is at an unfair advantage compared to regular members. It's not my fault that I do not communicate with Mods through text messages or phone.

One way to reduce bashing across the forum is to remove censorship. A forum is meant for discussion but certain restrictions aggravate the members which result in heated arguments.

If rules are to be placed, then make it applicable to everyone on the forum. I have noticed that warnings and rules are meant only for certain members on the forum.

The method of picking any sort of moderators need to be revised greatly. The current system does contain flaws according to me and I feel that Mods are as much at fault as members when it comes to the havoc that has been happening around the forum.

Lastly Hypocrites should be banned from here.

Advantages:

Having the ability to interact with a vast amount of individuals, and interacting with people from all walks of life, as well as being exposed to some thought provoking and intellectually stimulating discussions. The arsenal of information/pictures on each show/actor is also quite helpful.

Disadvantages:

The fact that the board is overrun by narrow minded people, whose fragile mentality shall always be kept in mind before posting. Most forums have become a frat house of sorts, overrun by ardent fans who have no tolerance for other people's point of view. This sort of defeats the entire purpose of a discussion forum and one has to think twice before opening a topic, or risk the tomato pelt running after them.

The report button is highly abused and only used to suit the convinience of those that are incapable of handling disagreements.

Moral preachers who give long bhashans on not bashing actors/shows/members, only to make a living on IF by directly or indirectly bashing other members and actresses. Very sad.

'Search for user posts' serves no benefit, as it only allows people to stalk you around IF and snoop in on private discussion such as those in Chat Clubs, which unfortunately has led to stalking around the internet.

Another disadvantage is those that have fallen victims to favorism by mods in certain sections.

Too many rules that restrict discussions and hinder opinions from flourishing. Suppression only makes people rebellious.

THE INABILITY OF THE PM SYSTEM TO SEND MULTIPLE MESSAGES! 😡

Sidra, Chandni, Zainab, Soha I agree with all of u.

Advantages: u get to meet some intelligent people. u get to interact with people from all sorts of backgrounds. u can have discussions on shows/movies from any country. You are able to share all sorts of information with each other.

Disadvantages: the people who abuse the "report" button are encouraged. Instead of mods making reasonable judgments about which topics to close or not, if u r friends with a mod and u hit the report button, then the topic is closed even if the topic didn't deserve to be closed.

sucking up to "some" of the mods can help u stalk/abuse any member without bearing any consequences.

there is no way to lodge a complaint against a biased/unfair mod. (PM the GM is a joke).

you cannot even criticize an actor cuz u know some obsessed fan is going to take offense and will start crying. And this kind of behavior is encouraged. WHYYYYY??? Some people seriously need to learn how to handle criticism. And some people seriously need to learn that other people ONLY WATCH A SHOW FOR ENTERTAINMENT and are not obsessed with the show or the actors and therefore dont appreciate it if u discuss their body parts in public.

one of the friend is using IF .

s crazy abt it n using IF for 6 hours .

His/her parents r so disturbed due to IF

so i would advise to all my friends plzzzzzzzzzzz keep ur limits of using computer

IF is a great place for dicussions pertaining to almost all kinds of leisure activity, Plus the Debate Mansion where some serious debates take place. People from different corners of the world meet at one place and put forth their views, which helps ( me, to be precise ) to look at the same thing from different perspectives. Apart from that, I have found some lovely friends here 😉

What are the disadvantages of IF? (We hope these are less 😳😳 but even if not, we'll work together to make IF an even better place!!)

1) The Mods are extremely biased in some forums, This issue needs to be taken in account ASAP. I have noticed that none of the GMs or Administrators are willing to consider this problem and devise a solution for it. I request you to take some action.

2) Taking Cue from the above post, I think we should have a proper & transparent mechanism through which Mods are chosen. The GMs and Administrators/Higher Mods can select a panel of deserving candidates for a particular forum and then members can vote to elect the Mods. This will eliminate the 'Popularity Votes' and will result in a public-oriented decision.

How has IF helped you on a person level? Did you get a lot friends? A place to discuss your favorite shows/ideas? Do you get a lot of help on IF?

Defenitely. I've made some great friends on IF, I guess some of us will be bonded for life 😳 I have also had some great intellectual discussions here, which have helped me grow as a person.
