advantages - have got loads of frndz here, can share my views with my frndz
discuss abt anything(openly or via pm)
n there r loads of them
as soemone stated this already, rules 2 b followed r gr8
following rules is something u have learn in ur lyf which is done here
but rules should not cross the limits too
i didn't find this till now

i have improved my hindi personally

i can stay out of IF anyday
i cant imagine any time that i'll leave If forever

disadvantages- this is too addictive yaar
even during the xmz, can't stay out of IF

Advantages: Clearly good and fun place to carry out discussions on actors, shows, episodes et all!...Also you can make really good friends ...and even though you may not see them you clearly form close bonds!

Disadvantages: Some people around are too whiny about everything in a show. Never happy with anything i must say. Some excessively ardent fans fail to take into perspective other peoples POV and start protecting their fav by hook or crook....You have to think 40x before critiquing (constructively) an actor / actress since u knw the fanatics will pounce on you.

Additionally, people unnecessarily instigate fights and it gets to a sickening level of personal abuse and vulgar language (hasnt happend to me but have seen it around)! Its hard to have a civil discussion in some cases.

Plus i agree with the whole Dev Team/Mods and the whole favoritism thing. Some of them appear too young to be making judgements about closing certain posts. Plus it would be nice if they could be more polite at times....

Hello

this is a greaaat topic and thats why i keep on coming back to it, no lies😊

I would Add on to my previous lists:

Advantages:

- Making topics to express one's opinons and having meaningful discussion with other IF members

Disadvantages:

- I agree with what Kashviiiii and dmg07 said, bullies on the forum. Especially bullies who have authority rights (right guys?😆). You see, when one group of individuals are bullied, then its hard for the other group of individuals to see that their respective peers are being bullied because they themselves maybe in contact with the bully through texting, calling etc. Like zainab earlier stated, its not some members fault they are not in touch with bullies through these modes of communication.

Also another great flaw i would say is the "edit" button, especially when members do stuff, like dmg07 stated, to cause fights and unrest BUT later on edit their comments because as you know, bullies dont like to come out of the closet😊

i concur...the advantages outweigh the disadvantages..

Also i must say thanks for having this type of discussion...

At work we have the "Open door" policy - meaning we can talk about anything with our boss, managers etc...

Advantage: Can discuss abt tv shows and watch them if you miss them on tv. Can make great friends..and find out info on ur fav tv stars etc.

Disadv: i would wish that the chatrooms are more instant like IM...it feels more like sending out an email..
