CHAPTER - 6
Nupur was horrified on learning the truth of Muskaan bring her own daughter.She was sitting still on the chair.Mayank said,"Benji mujhe kuch bhi samajh mein nehi aa raha hai ke tu kya bol raha hai please saaf saaf bol.Tujhe kaise???I mean..."Benji said,"Main samajh raha hu.Main tujhe shuru se sab kuch saaf saaf batata hu.Usdin blood donate karne ke pehle jab maine tera blood sample liya aur test karwaaya to mujhe usme kuch traits miley the.Phir jab baad mein Muskaan ke blood ki test karaayi gayi to usme bhi bilkul vaise hi traits miley hai.Mujhe bohot ajeeb laga tha isiliye tab maine tum dono ka DNA test karaaya and...it was positive."He stopped to take some breath and he looked at both Mayank and Nupur and found that they were looking eagerly towards him and with wide eyes.He then continued,"Mujhe bohot ajeeb laga kyuki jahatak tune bataya tha ke bhabi ko mara hua bachcha paida hua tha aur vo ab kabhi ma nehi ban sakti hai.Phir dusra khayaal mujhe ye aaya ke...kahi tu kisi aur ke saath..."Nupur yelled,"Kya bakwaas kar rahe ho tum???Mera Mayank aisa nehi hai!!"Benji tried to cool her down and said,"Main jaanta hu bhabhi par uswaqt bohot kuch chal raha tha mere dimaag mein.Isiliye maine jhut bolkar aapka blood sample liya cross check karne ke liye."Nupur asked,"Iska matlab hai ke usdin...??"Benji nodded his head and said,"Ji blood donation ki baat jhut thi,mujhe bas aapka blood sample chahiye tha aur bina pura sure huye main aapko kuch bata bhi nehi pa raha tha,isliye usdin aapko kuch nehi bola aur main usdin isi vajah se pareshaan tha.Phir jab maine bhabhi ka DNA aur maternity test karwaaya tab mujhe pura yakeen ho gaya ke ye aap dono ki hi beti hai aur ye vohi bachchi hai jo mara hua declare kiya gaya tha."Mayank could not believe that their dead child had suddenly turned out to be alive and returned to their lives.Everyone remained silent and after some time,Nupur asked,"Par...par ye to mar chukithi,phir..."Benji said,"Kaise kya hua mujhe ye to nehi pata hai bhabhi par ha Muskaan aaphi ki beti hai aur agar main galat nehi hu to,3 saal pehle kuch aisa hua tha jo ki nehi hona chahiye tha.Bohot bara khel khela gaya hai,bohot bari conspiracy hui hai and I think Mayank hume sach ka pata karna chahiye.Ek baat aur main keh sakta hu ke ye sab job hi hua hai,agar ye kisiki saazish hai to vo tere aap dono kea as paas hi hai,isiliye protection ke taur par main to yehi kahunga ke abhi ghar mein ye baat kisiko pata nehi chalne dena ke Muskaan aap dono ki beti hai."At that moment,Muskaan came out from the check-up room and ran to Nupur and said,"Mamma mamma talo ghumi ghumi kanne jaana hai,Mu ko aul catoon nei dekhna."Nupur was just looking at Muskaan with blank expressions on her face and she was staring and staring at her without a single word on her face.It appeared as if one light year had passed and still her heat had not filled up.Nupur came out of the trance after Muskaan called her again.She slowly took one hand of Muskaan in her hand and touched it as if trying to believe that the child whom she brought from the orphanage was the part of her own body.She slowly said,"Ab samajh mein aaya ke jab maine isey pehli baar dekha tha to mere dil mein itni mamta kaha se umar aayi thi.Isey dekh kar mujhe aisa kyu laga tha ke isse zarur mera koi puraana rishta hai.Ab samajh aaya kyuki ye to meri hi hai."Nupur picked Muskaan up in her arms and cried her heart out and said,"Iam sorry baby,Iam so sorry,mamma aapko protect nehi kar paayi,aapko mamma se itni dur rehna para hai.Iam so sorry."Muskaan couldn't understand why was Nupur crying and she thought that either Mayank or benji had scolded her.She angrily asked them,"Mei mamma lo kyu layi hai??Aap donone mei mamma ko aaap kiya?"Nupur rained kisses on her face and then said,"Nehi beta mamma ko kisi ne aaap nehi kiya,vo to bas aise hi."Myank wiped his tears and then said,"Chalo Nupur chalte hai."He grinned looking blankly,"Abhi bohot saara kaam karna hai."All then left from the hospital.
While leaving for home,Nupur sat with Muskaan hugging her tightly and not uttering a single word.Muskaan said,"Mamma bhuth lagi hai."Nupur wiped her tears and asked,"Kya khaana hai bachcha?"She replied,"Thichli,dudu aul oat nei khaani."Nupur said,"Mmm to chalo phir mamma aapko aaj Chinese khilaayegi aur phir ice-cream bhi."Muskaan and Mayank looked at her with a jerk and Mayank exclaimed,"What???"Nupur replied,"Kyu nehi??Aaj main bohot khush hu,isliye aaj mamma ki laadli ko jo kuch bhi khaana hai,mamma vo sab khilaayegi."Muskaan was so happy that she clapped her hand and said,"Mei mamma aaj jaada aththi mamma ban gayi hai."They went to a hotel and ordered for Chinese dishes and at last ice-cream.Muskaan had her dinner to her heart's content and they returned home.When they returned home,Savitri taunted them,"Aajkal har roz bahaar khaana khaaya ja raha hai,kya baat hai ghar ka khaana aajkal raas nehi aa raha hai kya?"Muskaan was sleeping in Nupur's arms and Mayank said,"Kyuki ghar ke khaane mein,kamsekam is ghar mein koi sukoon nehi hai.Bahaar ka khaana to kamsekam chain se,gappe maar ke khaaya to ja sakta hai par yaha...ab aur yaha ki taarif kya karu."Ratna came upto Mayank and was about to slap him when Nupur grabbed her hand and said,"Aap mere saamne mere pati par haath mat uthaaiye.Main vo bilkul bhi bardaasht nehi karungi."Ratna taunted,"Arey vaah!!Tere muh mein bhi ab zabaan aa gayi hai?"Nupur slowly replied,"Chillaiye mat meri beti so rahi hai aur main nehi chahti ke uski neend kharaab ho."Mayank had a smile in the corner of his lips.When Nupur went inside,Ratna said,"Is ladki ne aajtak aise baat nehi ki hai mujhse.Ab isko kis baat ki akar ho gayi hai itni?"Mayank smiled and replied,"Vo kya hai na jab ek aurat ma banti hai na to usme ek alag taaqat aa jaati hai."He too left for his room.After having a shower,when Nupur returned to the room and found that Mayank had taken Muskaan in his arms and he was crying badly hugging her.Seeing that Nupur too couldn't stop her tears.She sat beside him and asked,"Ab kyu ro rahe ho?Mil to gayi hai na ye?"Mayank looked at Muskaan and found that she was sleeping like dead with her mouth opened.He said,"Itne saalo baad mili hai ye hume,isliye..."Nupur too hugged both of them and cried.
Next day,Mayank started looking carefully at the papers of the orphanage and found that the day when Muskaan was taken into that orphanage was the same day when teir 3rd baby was born.When Nupur came inside,she asked,"Ye saare kaagzaat kyu dekh rahe ho?Kya hai inme?"He replied,"Main ye soch raha tha ke Muskaan ka janam to tumhaare hometown ke ek hospital mein hua tha,kyuki us time par tum wahi thi,aur phir tumhaara ghar yaha se pura ek ghante ka raasta hai.To phir agar usey janam ke baad chori kiya gaya tha to usey yaha itni dur laakar kisi orphanage mein chorne ki kya zarurat thi,usey wahi ke kisi orphanage mein ya phir kahi aur bhi to chora ja sakta tha na.Mujhe yehi baat samajhme nehi aa rahi hai."Nupur said,"Shaayad unhe ye laga ho ke agar waha kahi chorenge to hume asaani se mil jaati par yaha dhundhne ke baare mein koi sochega bhi nehi."He said,"Phir bhi bohot ajeeb lag raha hai.Tumhe yaad hai Benji ne kya kaha tha ke jisne bhi aisa kiya hai vo hamaare aas paas hi hai,to phir iska matlab ke usey pata hai hum yaha rehte hai to phir usne yehi kyu rakkha hai usko,mujhe yehi baat sabse zyaada pareshaan kar rahi hai."Nupur,too was thoughtful and she asked,"To phir kya tum y soch rahe ho ke kisine Muskaan ko humse dur kiya aur phir vo uspar nazar rakh raha hai taaki vo hume kabhi na miley?"He said,"Ho sakta hai.Kuch bhi ho sakta hai."Nupur asked,"Kahi ye kaam tumhaare kisi business rival ka to nehi hai?"He replied,"Agar aisa hota to vo Muskaan ko kidnap karke humse kuch na kuch demand karta hai,ya phir usko maar deta,par nehi unhone usey nehi maara."She confusingly asked,"To phir?"He replied,"Do cheez ho sakte hai,ya to vo usey kabhi maarna hi nehi chahta tha ya phir...ya phir uske zinda rehne se usey koi faayda hoga."She asked,"To phir ab hum kya kare?"He replied,"Hume us orphanage mein jaakar unse puchtaach karni paregi."Nupur agreed to him.
Next day,when Nupur woke up,she found that Mayank and Muskaan were already up and were sitting in front of her and giggling looking at her.She was confused at their attitude and asked,"Kya hua papa aur beti aise khi-khi kyu kar rahe ho?"Muskaan was about to open her mouth but Mayank stopped him and said,"Nehi kuch nehi bas aise hi."Nupur looked at them suspiciously and replied,"Mujhe to daal mein kuch kaala lag raha hai."Saying she tied her hair and went to the washroom.In the washroom,when she looked at her face in the mirror,she screamed and then was very angry on seeing that her face was filled up with colour and she was looking like a cartoon.She came out of the washroom and asked,"Ye kisne kiya?Kiski harkat hai ye?"Muskaan put finger on her lips since she was bribed by her father.Nupur looked at her and said,"Aap mamma ki achchi baby ho na,aap bolo."She still remained quite.Nupur said,"Agar aapne mujhe nehi bataya na Muskaan to mamma apse phir kabhi baat nehi karegi."Muskaan immediately replied,"Papa ne."Mayank said,"Ye kya Muskaan papa ne aapko mana kiya tha na ke mamma ko kuch bhi mat bolna,phir aapne kyu bola?"Muskaan replied,"Pal mamma nei baat kayegi na.Mamma agal Mu che naaj ho daayegi to Mu ko bua lagega na."Nupur said,"Papa ne kiya hai to papa ko iski punishment bhi milegi."Saying she started throwing the pillows over him and Muskaan enjoyed them very much.Mayank was shouting and asking her to stop but she didn't listen to anyone.At last both were tired and Muskaan said,"Mamma papa aaap dono ganne ho,latte ho.Main aaap kalungi!!"Mayank and Nupur both held their ears and apologized to her.Nupur said,"Iam sorry Muskaan,mamma ko maaf kardo,hum phir kabhi jhagra nehi karenge."Mayank replied,"Ha hum kabhi nehi larenge."Muskaan put her both arms around her parents and and said,"Mee aththe mamma papa."Both of them,in Muskaan's language said,"Hamaayi aththi Mu!!"They kissed Muskaan.
