Chapter Seven
Sheena couldn't believe mayank was serious about breaking up! She was sure he was just seeing someone to make her jealous. She was a little offended when she saw nupur cos let's face it she was pretty enough but so juvenile. Where as she, herself was just suitable for mayank...she just had to get him to see that again. It would have been so good for him if he had come along with her. She had had an awesome summer...She had had such a good time with Matt and the whole group in London, she had learnt a lot and had made some very promising connections. All the students attending those seminars were children of major entrepreneurs from all over the world. She had really pestered mayank to join her on this trip. That was the reason for the fight. She was just trying to help him, she knew how much Rahul uncle wanted him to do well and this was a great opportunity. She had promised Rahul uncle that she would get mayank interested in this seminar..but she had falied. She hated failing...in the end she had asked mayank to choose between not coming for the seminar and her. She always assumed it was his ego that stopped him and that when she would be back things would be back to normal and she could try to mould him again. This time she would have been more patient in pushing him. But as it turned out mayank had moved on! Arghh!!! She was so upset right now. Her thoughts were interrupted by the pone...who could be calling her now...she checked the screen she had never seen this no before.
Sheena: "Hello?"
"Hi..is this sheena?"
Sheena: "Yes, this is she...who is this?"
Dhruv: "Im dhruv...Dhruv mehra from college..." Oh god the psycho from college...she stayed far away from him...his reputation in college was not pleasant...he always got obsessed with girls who spoke to him and it always ended up in a bad way. *i dont need this right now* she thought..was he interested in her now that she and mayank had broken up? She was just going to have to be firm and tell him she wasn't interested.
Dhruv: "Ahh...you may not recognize me but i am in your eco class and..." he said thinking she didnt know him. But sheena interrupted him
Sheena: "I know who u are...what i want to know is how did u get my no. And why are u calling me?" she asked a little rudely..You do not encourage people like dhruv.
Dhruv: "I want to do you a favour."
Sheena: "YOU want to do ME a favour...ok im intrigued..what could u possibly do for me?"
Dhruv: " I cant get into all of that over the phone...why dont we meet and talk about it?"
Sheena: "Look, either you have something to tell me or you dont...make it quick, i dont have time for bullshit."
Dhruv: "Tsk..tsk sheena...its for your benefit trust me. Do you want ur bf back or not?"
Sheena: "Mayank? This is about mayank?"
Dhruv: "I see i have ur attention now...yes this is about mayank...You want him back dont you? I have a plan to make that happen...so if ur interested we should meet and talk about it further."
Sheena: "Whats in it for u?"
Dhruv: "I want the girl mayank stole from me back."
Sheena: "Nupur?"
Dhruv: "Yes nupur! We had a connection before ur bf interfered! Now i want to get her back."
Somewhere someone really loved her...the psycho had a thing for nupur!! This could work out brilliantly...with his help she would break them up and she would get mayank back!!
Sheena: "Fine...we'll meet tomorrow at Bangalore club..6:00 pm shrap." She said and discontented the phone without waiting for dhruv to reply.
*What a bitch* dhruv thought as he realised he had been cut off. Well it didnt matter cos he needed her. He was sure that mayank and nupur weren't actually dating...to prove that he had followed them..but as it turned out they seemed quite cozy at that cafe. This called for desperate measures. He needed them to break up and after seeing the exchange between mayank and sheena he knew he had his partner in crime.

Nupur had gotten up early Sunday morning and gone for a morning jog around the lake near her house...despite of all the drama that had gone on the previous night she had felt happy when she had gone for the party. Dia was right...past the obnoxious exterior mayank was a nice guy. He really did open up to her. Well she wouldn't pester him more...she now had enough grounds for pretending to be his girlfriend. She could see she would have her work cut out infront of her as far as sheena was concerned. Dealing with her would not be easy. As she approached her house she saw her dad's car with the tempo...her dad was home and so was their stuff. She saw her dad organising the stuff into the house and she ran and hugged him...
Nupur: "Hi pa!! I missed u!"
Rohit: "Hi squirt! I missed u too..where have u been?"
Nupur: "Had gone for a jog..when did u come?"
Rohit: "not long ago...just getting all the stuff inside... i can see Bangalore affecting u already...jogging on a Sunday. nice. Now that ur here go help mom organize everything inside."
The rest of the morning nupur was busy helping in organizing all the stuff that had come in...they decided to put the boxes in their places and open slowly. She knew she was going to be unpacking for a whole month at this rate. She was thankful for dia's call helping her to escape the madness by evening.
Dia: "Hey nupsie...i am heading to banaglore club...come along na...Benji will be playing and i get really bored hanging around waiting for him to finish. Plus mayank will be there too...we can go for dinner after that." She had planned on going before dia mentioned mayank...she didnt know how he would take it if she landed up unannounced..it was a bit stalker-ish even if they were dating...which they definitely were not.
Nupur: "I dont know dee...I dont want mayank to feel i am stalking him." She said honestly.
Dia: "Nupsie please stop being so paranoid...he is not going to flip and run off...I know u want to take things slowly but this is ridiculous... we are just a couple of friends hanging out..not everyone thinks like u! I am picking u up in half an hour!"
Nupur: "Ok...ok i give up." There was no arguing with dia...and she was right, mayank knew i wasn't interested in him like that, he wouldn't think anything of it.
