Samrat drove in through the main gate and found the other car parked in his usual place. Mayank, he thought. Just as he was wondering whether he should just park his car in the porch itself , he saw Mayank come out of the side gate that led to the outhouse and got out .

"sorry samrat. I didn't realise ki kahaan park karna tha"

"its okay Mayank. Chodo abhi itna dher hogaya hai , kya parking change karenge."

Both stood quiet for a second and immediately asked together

"gunjan ghar gayi?"

"tum abhi tak soye nahin?"

And smiled .

"chashmish ko drop kiya maine. Woh," hesitating a little," woh nupur so gayi hai kya?"

Mayank shrugged. Not knowing what else to say, samrat wondered out aloud,"suhaani wapas aagayi kya?"

"Pata nahin," said mayank adding ," and samrat nupur ki baton ko seriously mat lena. Woh thodi upset hai."

Samrat didn't answer. Mayank wondered if samrat was very angry. He didn't know how to make peace between the two.

" tum ne dinner kiya?" he asked unnecessarily prolonging the conversation.

Samrat nodded," ya. Woh chashmish ko jaldi ghar jaana tha, tho jaldi dinner kar diya. Tumhara? "

"nahin", and on samrats questioning look," nupur ...sone chali gayi, tho... waise bhook nahin hai."

Samrat noticed the tired ness in mayanks face which was a new thing for him.

" chalo, kuch lelo. Atleast chai peeyoge? Ek minute."

"tum banaaoge tho bilkul peene layak nahin hoga. Main banatha hoon. Tum jaake change karlo." Mayank said smiling slightly.

In 10 minutes , both were sitting on the porch steps with their tea cups in their hands and plates of bisquits next to them.

" tho, kaam kaisa hain? Tum itna bsy kyun rehthe ho?"

"bas aise hi." And explained all that he had been doing .

" par mayank, tum do do kaam kyun kar rahe ho? "

"financial reasons."

"lekin mayank, aisa tho tumhe apne liye time hi nahin milega. " hesitatingly," nupur ne kuch kahaan nahin."

"seriously tho nahin kahan. Par shayad tum teek keh rahe ho, main bhi sirf library ka kaam karke baki sab chodne ka soch raha hoon. "

Both were quiet for a while. In their own thoughts. But fully aware of what was running in the other persons mind. Mayank knew samrat was thinking how to help him out and samrat knew mayank was thinking of how to broach todays topic.

Taking one deep breath, samrat started to talk suddenly,

"mayank, jaisa nupur ne kaha kya wahi tumhe bhi lagtha hai? woh bas chashmish ki dress ke upar kuch gir gaya aur...matlab mera ... main," he spoke rapidly and stopped not knowing what to say, to explain to someone that he didn't have any bad intentions ...was kissing his girlfriend considered to have bad intention?shit, then maybe he did have bad intentions!

" samrat , tum mujhe kyun safaai de rahe ho? Main jaantha hoon."

"main chashmish se... mere liye chashmish ke khusi sabse important hai mayank. Mujhe laga ke tum jaanthe ho ki main uske liye kuch bhi karsaktha hoon. Meri dil main jo uskeliye jagah hai...woh meri bas girlfriend nahin hain, main uski izzat kartha hoon, usko kabhi jaan boojke dukh nahin pahuncha saktha . "

"main jaantha hoon samrat." Repeated mayank.

"kya nupur nahin jaanthi? " mayank was quiet, wondering what to tell him.

" pata hain mayank, jab pehli baar mujhe chashmish se sorry bolna tha, tho main galthi se nupur se soory bola tha. Tab se woh jaanthi hain, usine mera support kiya hai gunajn ko..."

" samrat," mayank put a hand on his shoulder," yeh sab jo bhi hua woh tumhare pyaar ki ya intentions ke bare mein nahin hai. yeh sab nupur ki possessive ness ki baat hai. "

"lekin mayank. Gunjan tho pehle se uski little sister hi rahi hai, tho ab kya?"

"ab sab kuch uski life mein badal gaya hai samrat. Uski family uski saath nahin hai, bauji ne mujhe aur usko accept nahin kiya hai tho usko yehi darr laga rehtha hai ki gunjan ke saath bhi aisa hi hoga tho kya hoga." He explained. Though he felt it was only half the issue and nupur felt that gunjan didn't support her against her dad, he avoided saying any of that.

But samrat spoke up," Kya nupur ko lagtha hai ki gunjan ne usa support nahin kiya wedding ke baad?"

"tum se kisne kaha?"

"chashmish ne. Pata nahin kya sahi hai mayank. Agar yeh girls nahin hoti life mein, tho life seeda saada hota. Nahin?"

" aur boring bhi. " mayank smiled

"haan. Itna drama meri basket ball mein nahin hain aur na hi tumhaare books mein."samrat smiled back.
