( i am not going into detail about A-S date . as it isn't important to MN track. We can assume that SG were doing exactly what was shown on tv-romancing, trying to be close but not too close kinds with gunjan in samrats kurtha.)
Mayank came home early . He had also asked Princi s permission to take off the weekend and was waiting to spend some time with Nupur. If only Deodhar sir was back, he would have had more time away from his work. He didn't mind the work but well...Nupur came first. And all said and done, he had been married for less than a fortnight. He smiled at his reflection in the glass window. He was married at 21!!! For someone who hadn't done anything except study all his life and shunned all female company, marrying willingly wantingly at 21 !!! 22 almost he thought to himself.
"yeh kahan gayi?" he looked under one of the pots if she had left the key. There it was. Surprised that she had gone out without telling him and simultaneorusly happy that she had gone out instead of brooding about god knows what, he decided to make dinner before she came back.
An hour later, when she hadn't received his phone and his dinner was done, he called up Bhushans house. While he was sure, she wouldn't have gne there, he thought gunjan would know.
"hello, hi Dia. Gunjan hai?"
"Nahin . woh aaj Sammy ke saath.."
"oh yes. To yeh Nupur kahan gayi?"
"ghar mein hi thi. Maine us se baath ki 1 hour back. "
Both were quiet for a second and then dia hesitantly spoke up," woh thodi upset thi."
" isiliye main ghar jaldi aaya."
"no mayank. Gunjan aur uski koi misunderstanding hogayi thi. Nupur ne gunjan ko Sammy ke saath date pe jaane ke liye mana kiya tha. But she got upset ki gunjan phir bhi gayi." Stopping for a moment, she continued guiltily," maybe meri fault hai. maine hi gunjan ko jaane ke liye force bhi kiya."
"but nupur ne mana kyun kiya?" mayank asked surprised. Dia hesitated and wondered if she shud tell him what she had gathered about the two sisters but decided against it. When nupur wanted to tell him, she would.
"mayank tum nupur se please discuss kar lo. Maybe woh tumse khud nahin batayegi."
"ok. Dia. Thanks."
"mayank? !! thanks?.we are friends," she smiled,"and tum tho abh family ho."
"haan tum meri saali ho." He replied teasingly.
" no, maybe friends hi teek hai." both laughed and kept the phone down.

' tho nupur meri wjah se upset nahin thi. Par usne mujhe bataya kyn nahin. gunjan ko date pe jaane ke liye mana kyun kiya? Aur ab khud kahan chali gayi?'
He dialled her no again.
"hello mayank. Tumhara missed call maine abhi dekha. Tum kahan ho?"
"nupur, tum kahan ho? Main ghar mein hoon."
"ghar mein. Tum jaldi kyun aagaye.?"
"tumhi tho roz roz jagda karthi ho meri saath ki main ghar jaldi nahin aata. Aur maa ko bhi complaint kiya tho main jaldi aagya."
"achha ab is me bhi meri galthi hain? Main jgda karthi hoon? haan karthi hoon. duniya mein saare bure aaddate meri hi andr hai." she replied her voice sounding extremely hurt.
"mazaak kar raha tha nupur. "sh e didn't answer," nupur, tum ho kahan."
"jahaan bhi hoon, tum wahan aaoge?"
"haan." But suddenly he got scared.
"samrat ke farmhouse ke Main gate ke bahar."
"KYAAA? Tum wahan kar kya rahi ho? Waise bahr kyun kadhi ho? Ander jao. Pata nahin ki is waqt woh jagah safe hai ki nahin."
"mujhe ander jaane mein dar lag raha hai."
"woh bhoot bangla hai kya? Kya hai nupur."
" maine socha main compound ke upar se ander jaaongi, tho..." Realising she was stuck , he panicked and softening his tone said,
"nupur , please tum wahi raho aur kuch bhi mat karo. Main abhi aaya."
He rushed out and again called her back," phone bandh mat karna."

------------------------Mayank came walking the last few kms as the rickshaw driver refused to come .he came running and stood clutching his sides just before the main gate. Nupur had said she didn't want the security to see them and so she was sitting on a lone bench before the main gate.
He looked around and saw a bench under the tree, went near it but no nupur. Just as he was about to call her again, one hand pulled him hurriedly behind the tree. Nupur placed a finger on her lips , and stood still with her hand holding his arm. Mayank was losing his temper at her continued antics. He couldn't understand what he was doing in the middle of nowhere getting bitten by mosquitoes for some insane scheme of this maddening wife of his.
when he opened his mouth, she placed her finger on his lips and glared at him.
Her wide eyes as she struggled was all that mayank could see in that lonely roadside, lit only by a streetlamp. Suddenly, he didn't mind the position he was in. Circling her waist with his other arm, he pulled her closer. she struggled to break free constantly trying to look around the tree but couldn't . mayank tightened his grip round her waist and held her hand with his other hand smiling at her teasingly.
"chodo mayank. Tumhe aur kuch kaam nahin hai kya? jab romance karna hota hai, tab nahin karte ho aur ab... Chodo"
"kaam , is waqt is jagah itne akeli raat mein ek dusre se pyaar karnewaale kisi bhi couple ko kya kaam ho saktha hai nupur? Waise tumhara surprise shock zyaada aur surprise kam hai phir bhi its ok."
"kya surprise?mayank jo tum soch rahe ho woh nahin hai."
"achha nupur, main kya soch raha hoon."
"MAYANK," her voice was no longer a whisper,"tum mujhe pehli CHODO. Dia teek kehthi hai, tum ladkon ko na, aur kuch khayal nahin rehtha." She added angrily. And broke free.
She peeped around the tree and looked back at him, indicating him to come out
Mayank walked out and said," sorry. Bolo kya hua?"
Nupur turned , looked at him and felt guilty . why was she screaming at him.
"woh main,gunjan ko dekhne ke liye aayi thi par akeli ander jaana...matlab hum dono saath mein chalthe tho gunjan ko bura nahin lagega aur woh galat nahin samjhengi, tho maine tumhe yahaan aane ke liye kaha. Waise tum itne late kyun aaye? Pata nahin kya kya hua hoga ander."
"jo bhi ho raha hoga, teek hi ho raha hoga. " he said and before she could retort back, asked her stiffly,"tumhe gunjan se abhi kyun milna hai?"
"woh...bas milna hai."she looked at the floor.
"nupur, meri taraf dekh ke answer karo."
She looked up, she knew if she told him her suspicions, he wouldn't agree but then...she couldn't lie to him .
"gunjan ne mere mana karne par bhi date pe yahaan aayi. Us samrat ki wajah se. Mujhe kuch teek nahin lag raha hai. usne meri baat kabhi taali nahin aur ab samrat ne kaha tho woh yahan tak chali aayi. Usko yeh sab samaj me nahin aata. Pata nahin samrat kya faayda..."
"tum pagal hogayi ho nupur. Tum .." he said without raising his voice, without expressions.he couldn't believe nupur thought badly about samrat.
Nupurs eyes suddenly turned hard, if even mayank thought she was mad, fine.Now that everyone was against her, it wasn't surprising that Mayank was also not taking her seriously but she wouldn't care. For her only gunjan was important.
"tum meri baat nahin sunogi. Chalo."
So saying, he stormed towards the main gate.
"hum yahaan se nahin jaayenge. Woh security bhaiyya ne samrat ko batadiya tho! Hum is compound se khoodh ke.. .."nupur tried to catch up with him and whispered loudly.
"chup chaap mere saath chalo."
As he reached the gate, the security person came out and recognised him " hello sir, aap is waqt yahaan? Kuch gadbad hain kya."
"nahin bas samrat se milne tha. Lekin aap mujhe kaise jaanthe ho?"
"aap ne tho samrat baba ko jail se nikalwaya tha na. Aap chalo , ander chalo. samrat baba ka ghar doston ke liye hamesha khulla rehtha hain." And let them in.
Thanking him, mayank turned to nupur and said,"soch lo nupur. Yeh bohot embarrassing hai.."
She walked in without replying, he followed extremely worried.
