Writing is about form and substance, but more so the substance. Pretty sentences joined by full stops are fine and dandy like candy BUT it is the heart of the prose, that nourishes soul, like a wholesome and hearty home cooked meal by your mother's hands. There really is no comparison.

I am sure your heart will find its sweet voice to enamour us all. Give it a try, for it is about enjoying the creative process.

The closing date for entries is 31st May 2011 and I intend to begin the voting round the next day, 1st June.

Sabah-di, is the voting gonna be anonymous?? As in will we get to know which writer are we voting for??

The voting won't be anonymous in the sense that it will be an open voting system HOWEVER the entrants will not be named. That is until the contest is over and then I will inform people who wrote which piece. I would want this contest to focus upon the pieces of prose rather than the popularity of the writers. However I do realize that people will undoubtedly recognize their favourite writers, so anonymity won't be completely possible but as much as it can be maintained.

I hope that is all right with everyone, I just wanted to create a contest where writers could showcase their work to a larger audience as well as push open their boundaries in terms of a very different writing parameter than they are used to. I wish it helped people play with their style and encourage others to try something they never thought of doing. Writing is an excellent experience and at the disposal of us all. 😃
